The Arrival

Corona frowned, his mood visibly darkening as he hopped backward, away from the gunfire. "No, I think I'd rather not..." With a quick gesture of one hand, an odd turn of the wrist and a flick upwards, the ground in front of the patrolbots rose upward, forming a wall as the fox began to run the other way, muttering under his breath. "Not exactly how I wanted to start out on this plane... I hope the rest of the place isn't like this."

The patrol robots started after the fox only for one of them to crash into the sudden incoming wall. The other was more fortunate and began to peel around it, searching for its end.

Intruder alert. Target hostile. Level 1. Coordinates NP-346-29-A-29.

Elsewhere in the city, two SWATs' eyes gleamed. They sprang to action, zipping down the street.

Corona grumbled quietly as he ran, mentally preparing for another spell, just in case. "Couldn't they just leave me be?"

It wasn't long before the two SWATbots swung around the corner. They were still pretty far from Corona, but that didn't stop them from opening fire. Both of them lifted their lasers and shot at him immediately.

[Corona Lumen]

"Son of a-" and the rest of his sentence was drowned out by a loud thump as he forced air down onto the ground, launching himself into the air and out of the path of those first few shots. "All this for one guy?"

The SWATbots continued shooting at Corona, but it wasn't long until he was out of range of their fire. For the moment, it seemed that the fox was in luck. Quiet veiled his surroundings as the last laser fizzled out in the humid air.

Corona sighed and rubbed his temples, surveying what he could of the large city from his height. Normally he'd make some kind of light in hopes to see better, but he'd rather not give his position away. "Now, where to go?"

[Silver]

The first thing he felt was the sharp pain reaming from his head, down his spine, and all the way to his feet. Be darned, he had no idea where it was coming from but he knew one thing for certain. He hurt like crazy. It took him a little to recognize the pinpoint of the pain and that's where he finally opened his eyes and got a good look at his mangled self. Gashes of various sizes riddled him. The largest offender was on his right leg right below the knee. Lucky him.

He let himself stew in panic before he calmed down enough to notice how stale and disgusting the air smelled. All around him, all he could make out in the shadows were skyscrapers mounted in trash and filth. The streets were deserted and the skies were grayed with pollution. It looked like the city hadn't seen a clear day in centur-

He grabbed the back of his head with both hands and grunted. Why did it seem familiar? It was just a passing thought, but it was enough to disturb him. Well, whatever the case, he was certain he planned to figure out what happened to the city... and to him for that matter.

Silver wouldn't have to wait long to find his answer. Two SWATbots, presumably looking for Corona, made their way down the street he had landed into. It wouldn't be long until he was spotted.

Up in the air, the fox would find his safety being threatened again. A faint buzzing sound descended upon him, growing louder by the second.

"Now what?" Corona whirled toward the sound, holding his staff defensively. He dropped altitude slightly, hoping to get a clearer view without so much smog.
