Releasing Pressure

RE: Releasing Pressure
I covered my head as the fire retardant foam rained down on him from the tree branches above him. While I may have been at the outer extent of the area where the foam impacted, it was still sufficient to thoroughly coat me in the stuff.

"Eww... what is this stuff? I grumbled in my mind as I used one hand to wipe away the foam from my face and muzzle and opened my eyes to inspect what now covered me and stuck my tongue out in disgust.

Well that certainly didn't go as I expected things to pan out. That was about when my ears perked up to the sound of the Rabbot's flight system kicking in. I watched in amazement as she hovered above the ground, watching the edge of the forest. But what really got my attention is what I heard her say next: "Cannon".

That word alone got the fur on the back of my neck to rise as my adrenaline began to spike. Fine. Two can play that game. As quickly as I could, I switched my ammo to my stun rounds. I still don't know who this person is after all, they could be a friend for all I knew, but for my own safety, I wanted to end this NOW, and on my terms. I primed my shot and took careful aim on the centre of the Rabbot's chest. I know that my stun rounds are most effective when they strike near the heart; causes a temporary flutter in the heart's beating that both knocks the wind out of the subject and stuns an opponent without causing any long term harm.

I actually let a faint smile slip across my muzzle as I laid my sights onto the Rabbot. Up in the air like that, she's a sitting duck. At that last thought, I fired.

RE: Releasing Pressure
"HEY!"

Saria had enough of this. She just saw the rabbit spray some form stuff into the forest, which did NOT look eco-friendly in her book. She was not about to let her fire something else into the forest at this rate. The destruction of the general area was enough as is.

"Stop it!"

She jumped upward at the rabbit and extended her right hand right at her. She did not wait to get in range, she just needed to stop her from doing any more crazy stunts. She let off a charge of energy in her hand that send out a blaring bright light from the palm of her hand. She was not at point-blank distance but it would be more then enough to blind a rabbit at this distance for a few seconds. at least get her attention back to her to get her to stop.

RE: Releasing Pressure
Chalk wasn't expecting this sudden two pronged attack. What was going on? Who was attacking her? Why were they attacking her? Granted she was practicing and her sessions didn't usually sit well with people but she always did it in the same place and tried to keep destruction to a minimum. If she didn't keep her edge she could risk messing up when it came to rescuing Linda.

The rabbit wasn't able to pick out Chadin's shot in time but luckily for her Saria's strike interupted it. What would have been a dead shot turned into a glance as Chalk turned towards the Saria's charge. The shot hit her backback; the sudden jolt causing the system to freeze up and her motors cut out. Couple this with the blinding flash from Saria and Chalk found herself falling towards the ground with no ability to see.

With a crunch she hit the ground in a sprawling mass. She coughed a few times and then picked herself up off the ground. She still couldn't see but it didn't blunt her attitude.

"System Down due to electrical overload. 10 seconds to reload. Initiating backup defense protocols!" said a computer voice.

As if to answer the words Chalk's cannon vanished from view and was replaced with a large metallic shield. A slim view window covered in bulletproof glass was the only visible hole in it. Chalk quickly grabbed the shield in both hands and heaved it from the ground. It seemed heavy but Chalk appeared as if she could manage it easily. She backed off slightly, or at least in the direction she thought backing off was, and reared her ears listening for any sounds around her.

RE: Releasing Pressure
Once again, the situation took an unexpected turn of events. The Overlander not only had wings, but much to my surprise, as she flew up to the rabbot, an orb or light appeared in her hands that not only was bright enough to blind and disorientate the rabbot, but also blind me as well. Even from all the way back where I lay beside a fire retardant coated bush; in broad daylight no less, I found my eyes watering from the harsh flash.

When my eyes did start to return to normal I saw the rabbot crouched behind a very durable looking shield. "Where the heck is she pulling this stuff out of?" I muttered to myself. Well, at the very least, she didn't appear to have any weapons drawn; or at least none I could see from this angle. Now might be as good a time to start being diplomatic. Of course, ever since the 'incident' I've not exactly been much for that sort of thing. I found myself missing my fellow MFF members. Our leader was much better at this sort of thing than I am. Oh well, here goes.

"Alright, that's enough of this nonsense!" I called out in a firm and commanding voice. I didn't really much care at this point if they tried to follow my voice back to find me. I have a clear shot on either of them and I'm still lying prone among the foliage and the fire foam, so the chances of them actually spotting me are pretty slim by my estimation. "Overlander, land back on the ground and keep those hands where I can see them; and don't try any more of those light tricks or I'll put a round right between your eyes. Same goes for you Rabbot, you so much as twitch your nose in a way I don't like and I WILL shoot."

RE: Releasing Pressure
"What part of 'STOP' does everyone NOT UNDERSTAND!"

She was rather pissed at this point. She already knew someone else was here, cause the random shooting from the side was more then enough to tell her 'hey someone else is here'. She however did NOT like being told what to do or held in what sounded very close to a hostage even, especially since she was far from defenseless.

"Who do YOU think you are!?"

She did not listen as one hand went on the handle of her sword and the other hand straight in front of her, what seemed to be like some type of battle stance. She only had turned in the direction of which the rabbot had shot the form in, but it was clear she did not know the specific direction, only the relative. She did however have enough pride in her own ability to know as long as she kept herself in defensive stance she was not going to allow herself to get hit.

RE: Releasing Pressure
Chalk being a rabbit was able to do a little more than just approximate. She hadn't been idle during her slight retreat. Whilst her eyes were still hazy and unable to focus her ears did all the work she needed. The call from Chadin was more than enough for her to locate his position.

It was obvious he was a sniper from the way he was shooting. Still it raised a question, it wasn't a robot or other such entity. Just who was attacking her? Her curiosity stopped her shooting back immediately however it didn't stop her getting ready.

"System reboot completed, operating efficiency now stable at 93%."

"Double cannon, ready flight systems."

The massive shield vanished in a spray of particles as Chalk was suddenly equipped with two of the water cannons she had been weilding earlier. She turned straight towards Chadin, her eye focus blurry but her ears pointing straight up and twitching now and then as she listened for any movements.

"I could say the same thing. You got some nerve attacking a member of the Freedom Fighters. You want Robotnik to win or are you ignorant?!" She screamed this quiet energetically and with a hint of rage and insult. Her legs coiled as she prepared to jump into the sky once again.

RE: Releasing Pressure
I whipped away a stray drop of the fire foam that landed on my muzzle from the branches and trees above. As I did so, the two in the clearing quite clearly chose not to heed my warning. Thankfully for them, that foam in my eyes kept me from shooting the instant they took action.

However, while the Overlander very much answered in a way I expected they would from my father's descriptions of them, what the rabbot said caused my trigger finger to freeze just shy of pulling the trigger. "Freedom Fighter?" I whispered to myself. That can't be right.

"Freedom Fighters don't go around trashing whole sections of forest. They protect nature, not destroy it." I called back, keeping a sharp eye, and ear on both of them. "I should know, I AM a Freedom Fighter!"

RE: Releasing Pressure
Wait... What!?

Her face changed to one of momentary suprise as the rabbit declared herself a freedom fighter. Saria could not honestly say that was not possible. She only recently joined and she was far from perfect when it came to knowing people and she was VERY sure she had yet to met everyone in the first place.

"What!?"

She then turned towards the direction of the foam while the unknown attacker spoke, claiming they were a freedom fighter too. She was getting confused cause both of them were acting in fashion that clearly did not show it. The rabbit was randomly destoring the forest. I heard they had enough trouble with Robotnik attacking the forest before, to have one of there own total the forest seemed even unlikely considering the effort they go to protect it. The unknown attacker was claiming to be one but here they were declaring hostages and attacking from the shadows, that was far from honorable but then again she already knew not everyone was, so at least his seemed more plausable but the threat was still clear on her mind a moment ago.

"This makes no sense. You guys are claiming your both freedom fighters and yet your not acting like one! You~"

Saria pointed at the rabbot first.

"You admitted you were bored and attacking the forest! What kind of freedom fighter destorys the very forest you protect and protects you from Robontik!"

She then turned towards the direction of the unknown the unknown. She did not know where they wre but she knew that they could hear her.

"And you claiming to be a freedom fighter, yet you make threats and attack from the shadows AND expect us to believe you're a good guy? Come on!"

She crossed her arms as clearly annoyed at this event cause by the looks of things now it appears to be one big mis-understanding. She decided to keep the fact she was a freedom fighter to herself. It would add more confusion at this point and right now, she was pretty sure they could do without any more of that.

RE: Releasing Pressure
"You think this equipment maintains itself?" replied Chalk with a scoff, "This is a MKIII ANGEL suit designed for intense fire rescue service operations! I've been coming here to practice for the last week!"

Her glance had momentarily shifted to Saria as she spoke but quickly spun back to Chadin a moment afterwards.

"As for this forest Mr I'm not too bothered. All I care about is rescuing my sister and getting back to where I came from!"

She snorted and glared at the forest for a moment before raising her nose to the sky for a moment. "This is ridiculous, I got more important things to do. Adios!"

With that Chalk turned and began to walk away. She still appeared to be rather angry by the glare that covered her face and she seemed not to be taking any notice of what the other two might be doing behind her. The only part of her body that did seem to care were her ears that were held high and flicking back and forth.

RE: Releasing Pressure
I scowled angrily at the accusing words coming from the Overlander and rabbot. I failed to notice, but as my temper started to flare up, the lightning shaped scars that stretched across my body started to glow faintly with a bluish-white shimmer.

"Hah! You think us Freedom Fighters have survived this long by taking stupid risks or by confronting our enemies like Robotnik head on!" I scoffed with a laugh. "For your information, Overlander, this IS how we operate. And what would an Overlander know about how a Freedom Fighter is supposed to act anyway? Your people would gladly strip mine this forest just to uncover some lousy coal that you'll just use to pollute your own cities with later."

"And as for you, Rabbot, I can think of a dozen better ways to practic
e and maintain my equipment that doesn't involved wrecking the forests that I rely on for protection."
