Saria Amaratha
Name: Saria Amaratha
Age: 17 Gender: Female Race: Angel* Weight: 71 lbs. Height: 5" 5' Faction: Freedom Fighters Personality: Saria lived a most sheltered life and therefore is rather naive of many things. She is naturally shy and respectful on first meetings. She is normally a very gentle person and for most who do not know her, would find it odd to see her sword across her back. Saria is in fact full of pride. She prides herself in her magic artes, sword artes, and healing artes. She is easily agitated when someone puts her down regarding her artes and made jealous by those with better powers. She has an urge to prove herself capable and able, partly cause of her rush to go home. Appearance: She wears a white t-shirt with belly exposed and blue short jeans. She has black sneakers. Her wings expand to twice her own size and can be hidden using her Light Arte. Her sword is worn horizontally across her waste, at a somewhat angle to make it easy to drawer from the left side. She is flat-chested and naturally thin, she appears and naturally is light weight. History: Origins Saria comes from a peaceful world of Melida, a cloud city that was above world. A place were magic and sword play became the focus of society and the source of its growth. She grew up in an age of peace and knowledge and was raised by her a loving family. Her strict but loving father, James, was the source of her interest in the Sol Artes. Her kind and calm mother, Selina, bought the love and kindness with her simple and yet blessed Song Artes. She had an impulsive but clingy sister, Danielle, who would never confront her own shadow without Saria being within reach. She remembers being told the night time stories of the worlds below the clouds and the many places beyond the veil of clouds. They spoke of worlds of horror and worlds treasures beyond dreams. The one thing that always was told was that most who left could not return till the task was done. Melida itself was a peaceful world with its strength being in its powerful Artes, magical skills taught from generation to generation, and improved over time by it users. Saria grew up with a full education and the honored teachings of her parents, Sol Artes and Song Artes. She found her strength in Song Artes was almost unmatched and fell out of her Sol Artes quickly, as in a time of peace there was no need to learn the arte. Her parents were gladder she was finding pleasure in at least one of the family’s skills. Her sister took up Sol Artes as she grew up, after finally wanting to prove she could do something Saria could not do. Times of Change When Saria turned ten years old, she took the standard Magic Artes test in school, like all children do. She showed a very strong alignment to Light Artes and very high amplitude in Healing Artes. She showed a very natural understanding of healing, as she began to heal small cuts and wounds she would receive from time to time when tester came to visit her parents and they watched her do this when she cut herself with butter knife, it was clear she had an incredible amount of potential. Her future learning went towards a school more focused on Healing & Light Artes. She found her potential however even in a specific school of the arte, her skill was so unnaturally high. She was already able to do basic healing before going and as she learned she found healing bigger wounds became possible. She also taught her how to 'fly' using her wings, which like most is a result of something happening. It came when she got too close to the broken railing on the top of the school building. She was thought she was going to fall off the edge and by reflex jumped back onto the ledge. She at first did not understand, but then noticed she did fall but had flown back up. She started practicing a bit at times, even knows she was not suppose to fly till she was older. Her Light Artes began to develop from basic light spheres to forming a shield of light. She began to develop what would be the future base of her 'Shinning Shield' and 'Sphere Shot'. She began to think though why were people getting hurt. She had grown up so sheltered from the world, she found it hard to understand why people would be getting hurt so badly to need so much healing. She found out when she was fourteen, during a practical exam. She was taken, along with her class, to a hospital to show them why such skills are needed. Saria was surprised to see so many people injured and was further surprised by some of the reasons as well. She had heard of violence, but she never understood that it could be taken this far, to hurt people to kill people. Catastrophe At age 15, Saria got her first dose of reality. Danielle never came from a friends house one night. Her mother began to worry for once and her father was ready to go out and search. Saria was also worried and went with her dad to Danielle’s friends house to go and get her or at least find out what happened. They arrived at the friends house to find out, it was not just visiting a friend. It was an outright party with the entire under-age drinking and drugs to boot. It became a lot worse when her sword-welding father came in, pissed. A few went for the back door in panic, some even jumped out windows in fright. A few were too drunk or messed up to believe what was happening. Saria was more embarrassed by her father's actions then she had ever been in her entire life. Saria found Danielle upstairs barely awake as two guys attempted to hurry out. She saw what state Danielle was in and before the two men could get away, all that was heard was a hellish explosion as the two men in question were sent through a newly made hole in the wall from the third floor, crashing to front yard of the house. They might have wished they had died during the fall or better yet during the explosion but Saria was not going to give that mercy to them, not for forcing themselves on her sister. She had never wanted to hurt and injury people so much in her entire life. She went a bit crazed as she flew over to them, both barely able to move after the intentional explosion. She found herself using twisting her own healing artes as instead of fixing things, she made them feeling worse. It was so easy to do if she changed her thoughts from 'helping' to 'hurting'. She twisted parts of them that they never knew they had as they cried in pain. She lost track of how long she did this before she heard someone yelled at her to stop. She came back to reality, in time to be tackled and cuffed. She was in too much shock out of what just happened, her sister have been violated and then she took her own skills tortured them back, in ways that may as well been several times worse. She was in more shock on how effortless she had gone from being peaceful to desiring to kill someone. The whole event was major news in her world as a whole development went around it. Her father was arrested as well but him carrying a sword seemed minor compared to what she had done to those guys. The event however was short, despite what she had done, in front of a jury they voted in her favor. It was easy to see how she would snap at the site of her violated sister and use whatever skills to stop them. A few opinion polls showed that many had no pity on the men and their fates. Saria, however, was horrified. She had lost total and complete control and turned her arte into something very dark and twisted and she enjoyed every second of seeing them wither in pain. Answers Her father noticed how troubled she was regarding what had happened. It brought a lot of negative image to her, both in general and in school. She found she could not heal at all anymore as she locked up to scare to even invoke the arte since the event. She could not use Song Artes as her voice would not come out. Danielle tried to convince her it was for the better good after the event but every time she looked at her sister the vision of that scene was fixed in her mind. She was sinking fast into depression but her father took her and literally forced her to learn Sol Arte. He starting waking her up and dragging her to practice, even while barely dressed, telling her to be ready then if she does not want to be dragged out in a nighty. He did this for several months and as time went on she found herself waking up before him, getting dressed for it and being ready in general. She found during practice that her mind was a bit at ease for once. She even began to show she could sing again, thought her song arte had drastically different since the event. Her sister was badly injured in a training accident with father and to Saria own surprise, out of reflex she started healing it. She regained her healing artes, as she remembered why she wanted to help people. She starting working hard to develop her healing artes, to make up for lost time. She kept training in Sol Artes as well. She began to develop her skills as she turned 17, becoming rather skilled in Sol Artes as well as her other artes. She became rather confident in her skills... a bit too much at points as it got her in trouble at school. Fate The clouds below the cities began to turn black one day, as a storm was coming. A storm they had not seen in many years. The storm came in fast and noticed to abandon the rims came in just as quickly. Saria's family had living in the rim fields for the longest of times. The storm came so fast and inexpediently that many had barely anytime to get possessions before moving inland. Her family grabbed what they could and they fled the home but it was during this that one of her family possessions, Yggdrasil, the family sword fell and got carried in the heavy winds that started raging. Saria grabbed the sword but she had gone too far as the winds carried her. The sword had no mass, and her kind also was light weights. The wind took her as she was swept up in the dark winds. She could not hear her family yell for her over the winds, as she was taken from the past then rim and towards the storm with only the clothing on her back and the sword in hand. She could only hold onto the sword and pray as she was thrown around like a rag doll in the storm. She found as the storm ranged on objects of former house became her real problem. The wind was only moving her around but the objects it had picked up, if they hit her then it would be over in a second. She took the sword in hand as hard as she could and swung as a large piece of wood came at her in the wind. She found herself swinging and swinging as objects and debris came flying at her with no order or reason. She got hit from moments, sometimes with stuffed toys and other times with drawers from some house. She kept swinging and swinging trying to block and intercept what was thrown with her sword but it seemed like an endless onslaught. She got hit by quite literally a house and as she could barley stay awake any longer. She found she had been knocked into the eye of the storm, the calm. The wind did not touch her and instead she found herself falling, sword in hand. She did not have the strength or means to fly anymore. She was and badly beaten to death by everything the storm had taken in. She thought she saw the rim's edge as she feel below it and further down into the dark clouds below, she saw the clouds but only felt sleep take her as she fell helplessly into them. Stranger to Freedom Fighter She felt like she should be dead. She was thought for sure she was dead. Her body however reminded her otherwise as the pain of all the objects, impacts, and the landing itself made her wish she was dead. She opened her eyes to find she was in a forest, sword still in hand. She was laying on the ground and she went to move but found she could not even sit up. She attempted to raise her hand to heal but found she did not even have the strength to lift her hand to perform healing. She closed her eyes again as exhaustion ate away at her. She woke again someone moved her. She felt someone sitting herself up and call her back from the edge of oblivion. "Wake up! If you pass out like this, you might die!" She opened her eyes and saw human looking over her as he kept her sit up. He pulled her over to a nearby tree, as she cried out in pain as she moved. She was very sure, a lot of her bones were broke. She looked at the human, who looked very much like her but no wings. "No... wings?" "Don't speak! Stay awake... I'll go get help!" She did not have time to question as he ran somewhere into forest. She attempted to stay awake as she knew from her own healing knowledge to faint in this condition might be the end for her, it did not make it any easer. The human came back with several animals like creatures, the likes of which Saria had never seen before. She did not have the strength to be scared or fear them. She was barely awake and hanging on. "What... are you?" "She got hit hard! We got to get her some medical attention licky spilt, else she an't goin' to make it!" She was a bit surprised they could talk to but it was completely downplayed by the pure pain she was in. She could not even care it was a talking animal as the pain took her dream land again. She awoke again but this time, she could feel she was in a bed and she could hear lots of people in pain. She knew the sounds of a hospital without even having to open her eyes. She listens as she could hear two people nearby talking. "Wha... happened?" "Our world got it up the ***. That’s what!" "What the **** do you mean by that!?" "It got all screwy with something else... or at least that what the smart ones are saying." "How the **** does that answer anything!?" "No clue but that’s what they saying." She faded quickly again as her body surged with pain as she couldn't help but cry in pain. She still did not have the strength to even start to heal herself. She only could fall asleep to the cries of pain of everyone around her and her own seemly endless pain. "What is she? She looks human but she got wings." "Doctors say she is unbelievable light and she way more frail then we are. They don't know where she came from." She heard over time about how odd she was. She shared the same feeling with them. She had never seen talking animals before. She was a bit surprised how strong they were as everything seem naturally heavy to her. She first thought it was just her being weak from her injuries but she came more active she found that it was just her in general. She was not use to the strength they used, they had so much more of it then she had. She spent what seemed like a week before she finally had enough strength to healing herself. She surprised a few of the doctors when she recovered her broken left leg in a day. She slowly worked on her other limbs, slowly getting her bones back. She had herself able to move again in five days of repeated healing. She found however that no one knew Melida and that the world she was in had recently merged with another world. Shed tried to find the person who found her in the forest but it seemed no one recalled how she was found. She helped the doctors out of thanks by using her healing abilities in the hospital. She found out quickly that she was the only one with healing Artes. She found out very quickly that magic it was not common at all. She learned she was in the Knothole Village and had been brought while she was barely alive from the forest. She heard about Robotnik and how they fought him. She did not want to get involved, as it was not her world. She got her sword and decided to try and find a way home. She adventured out of the forest and then flew into the skies, she was surprised when she looked up. "The clouds are above?!" She had need seen clouds above. The clouds in her world were always below and never above. She looked around for a rim and she could not see one in sight. She thought maybe she was too far in and flew for several hours in a direction. She was not by a rim but instead by an ocean. "A giant lake? I've never seen a lake this size before!" She landed to take a break but was only more so confused. She had never been on a beach before. She wondered where she was and what had happened. She was in an odd world with so many odd things beyond her understanding. She only sat at the beach for awhile looking as the ocean waves come towards her. "I've never seen a lake move like this." She was amazed at first but now it was starting to set in, that she was not able to go home. She might not be able to go home at all. She grew angry and in her angry she flew up straight for the clouds, thinking she could go home if she could get to the other side. She flew using all her strength towards the clouds and passed them... but on the other end only more clouds and sky. She fell from the sky wondering as the winds blew by her, what she should do. She stopped after falling a distance and looked around her for some place to go but she had no idea were to go. She could not go back, as she did not know where she had been. She instead noticed small flashes of light in the distance and what seemed to be a city. She flew towards the city passing a ruined sign that said 'Welcome to Station Square'. She saw as metal beings fighting with the furry animals and humans. She saw as women and children fled as some fought. They were all trying to leave but the metal beings were emotionless. They attacked who ever attacked them and did not care about the women and children. She recalled the metal beings from what she was told before. "This is Robotnik's forces?" She barely watched only a minutes worth, but it was enough for Saria to react. She drew her sword and jumped right in from an alley, surprising all. She cut swatbot and swatbot down as women and children fled. She noticed how endless it was and none seemed to care about how many she cut down. They simply shot beams of light at her as well as everyone else. She battled for what seemed like hours till she knew she had to pull back herself. She retreated with the rest and joined up as an unexpected savior of the group. She used her healing artes on those injured as they traveled. She was not sure why she was in this world but she felt that maybe it was something out of one of her parents stories. She had to be around for some reason and it was just a matter of doing it maybe. She wasn't sure but she knew what she saw and what she did not like. She found herself back up with the escapees at Knothole Village. She offered her services as both a fighter and as a healer. She was very sure she was their for a reason and she was going to do her best to willful it. Weapons - Yggdrasil - Her family heirloom claymore sword, unnaturally light with a handle in the shape of a tree, with a solid blade. The sword is very light weight but strong as well. Its the only weapon she can use effectively since most materials the new world are much too heavy for her to effectively use. The sword itself draws in magical energy to make each swing impact more effective, it however takes a second for it to renew each time, hence why Saria's combat style is focused on single hits instead combo hits. This because without this affect it would not be possible to deliver damaging blow as her race is naturally weak physically, so this ability makes up for this loss somewhat. Combat Style - Sol Arte - A style focused on use of sword and magic combination. Saria's alignment is with light based magic and her sword style is a two-hand sword. Saria uses her slow but powerful sword strikes in conjunction with her fast but low power magic casting to defeat her opponents. The problem is finding the balance of spell use and sword use so that she does not exhaust her physical strength or mental strength, before her opponent is defeated. Her physical strikes focus on using rotational motion and weak points to cut targets, therefore is not based on brute strength as her race does not have much strength. Moves Sphere Shot - A basic ball of light shot at a target to cause damage. The balls themselves hit like small basketballs being thrown at the target. They cause little damage but can be fired rapidly for suppression fire and as a quick attack. Saria does need to direct them by using her hand to project and fire them. She can fire about three shots in one post but the damage is equal to that as normal basketball being thrown at a person. They are horribly inaccurate at a distance; hence they rely on rapid fire to hit the target. Shining Shield - A directional 'palm' shield created via a magical circle generated from the palm of a free hand. It is a big as a buckler shield and has about the same defensively ability as one. The shield can take a decent amount of damage but if it breaks, it will result in her casting hand being unusable for three posts. Judgment Sword - A blade of light that is projected and 'repeats' a previous melee attack. It takes a post to ready and then during a normal melee strike, it 'repeats' that strike using a sword of light. This is a very effective guard breaker, especially during a clash of weapons when the second strike comes and adds the extra force needed to break through a guard. The damage is equal to that of the normal strike as well. Charge Strike - A move executed at a distance, as Saria runs/flys at the target with sword drawn or ready to drawer. She creates a flash image of herself performing the move a full second before the move hit. This image strikes but does nothing, allowing Saria to perform the real strike while the target is surprise or confused. Saria can altered the distance from which the flash image appears and strikes making its repeated use possible but grows less effective as the target gets how its being done. The move uses motion to create the fake image, so Saria has to have a some distance to charge or fly at the target to make it possible, therefore a whole post to get in position and ready. Blind Impulse - A simple flash of light performed in close combat, often using the extended hand towards the targets face. A simple but high power flash of light is set off towards the targets eyes. The skill is designed to blind the opponent for two posts. If the hand is place in front of them on even better yet grabs them in the face, it can still blind a target who even closes his eyes since the flash is so bright eyelids aren't normally thick enough to block it out, resulting in still a turn of blindness. It can be done instantly but due to the surge it creates in the hand it can not be used again for five posts. Choas/Sol Move - Light Rain - A rainstorm of light, created by rapidly converting Chaos/Sol energy in the area, granting artificial mass to it in which then it falls like rain. The light falls like straight lines of raindrops, and as they hit people within range it pass' thought them, taking a bit of stamina/chaos energy as it goes. A single drop is not even felt but as the rain goes on those under the rain start losing strength and chaos power, rendering them exhausted and tired, both physically and magically. The area of affect is focused 15 yards from Saria, and it does affect allies as well. The rain storm lasts for five posts, during which each post the rain 'increases'. The first two posts barely register what is happening, and the third post it becomes noticeable that stamina/chaos energy is being sapped. The last two turns sap a large and noticeable amount of stamina/chaos energy. If Saria is knocked out the affect will end. Skills Healing Arte - Saria has a natural talent for it and her alignment to light based magic made healing artes come naturally to her. Her healing potential is enough to heal minor cuts with a few moments of focus with normal wounds taking a few hours. She can stabilize a near fatally wounded person with enough time but often it would take several days of repeated healing to get them back to normal. Healing requires complete focus on the person and therefore useless in a combat sense. Healing herself is more difficult but still possible. The ability could be used offensively to hurt someone but Saria has sworn never to do it. *SEE HISTORY* Song Arte - Saria used to be a very good at song artes, which focus on melodies and hymms to influence listeners. She let this skill slip a bit under when she started practicing her Sol Arte. She can still sing to rather well. Song Artes use a different type of voice then just normal vocal and therefore a proper Song Arte can sound like a small band if done properly. Light Artes - The spell group that has all of Saria's base spells. She can cast simple stuff like a ball to produce light in dark places and is the basics of which all her offensive magic spells come from. She can also make her wings 'disappear' via a light trick to try and keep a normal 'human' appearance. Flight - Her race passively convert magic to current for flight, allowing her to fly long distances using the magic in the air to fly. The problem is since she changed worlds, the amount of magic in the air is different from her own world. She can manage flight but it needs to slowly draw from her as well as the air, making her flight not 'limitless' like it was at home. She needs to take breaks every so often. She can't take anyone with her because she would not have the strength to lift them. Strength - Solid Strikes - Flight - Nimble - Healing Artes - Close Range Combat Weakness - Low Strength - Low Weight/Easy Knock back - Low Endurance - Naive - No Long Range Ability * = Or Bird People if you REALLY don't like the term, though I asked Links and he said it was fine as I am making no referance to the Divine. |
