Albin Padriag
Name: Albin Padraig

Age: 32 [April 22]

Sex: Male

Species: Equine (Clydesdale)

Faction: The Family (Thieves Guild)

Alignment: Villain

Appearance:
Albin is a 5'10' monstrosity of an anthro, his heritage clearly playing through. He's in good shape, clearly putting through an effort to be such, as much for appearance as for reinforcing his will. His fur is chestnut in color, with his limbs being white in color. His hair, tail, and mane (and continuing down the center of his back to his tail) are all brown in color. His eyes are also chestnut in color. He keeps the tufts that normally grow around his wrists cut down so they don't get in his way. The ones on his ankles are left alone and cover his hooves.

He typically either wears jeans and tee-shirts. When he means business, he wears a suit, even when dealing with less scrupulous types. No shoes, as his hooves don't agree with them.

Personality:
He always tends to try and make a good first impression, and remain friendly until the situation demands a reaction otherwise. Even then, one tries to avoid burning bridges until necessary. On the other hand, he almost views things from a business perspective, often viewing many others as either customers or competitors. He tends to like enjoying the good things in (his) life. A good workout, a good game in a sport, and other such things. Not only that, but he likes enjoying them with others. In general, he's usually happier with others around him.

He seems to have an easier time keeping his calm compared to others. Of course, it just seems like it. He's just not very emotive about his anger is all. One can still tell, though, as his voice becomes sharply concise as well as his movements, and he seems to stomp rather then walk. Sadness and disappointment tend to cause periods of sulking and separation while he mulls it over, followed by getting back to his original routine to escape from whatever it is.

Family:
Daren Padraig (Deceased) - Albin's Father. Didn't have much of a relationship with Albin. Abandoned his mother at an early aged. Died during the earliest days after the merger.
Mellissa Jones (Alive) - Albin's Mother. Had a good relationship with Albin, and was the parent who did all of the caring for. Lives in oppression under Robotnik in Station Square.
Derik Jones (Deceased) - Albin's Step-father. Had a so-so relationship with Albin. Died protecting Mellissa.
Tatania Jones (Alive) - Albin's little sister. 8 years younger then Albin. Is currently with their mother.
Katherine Alabaster (Deceased) - The woman Albin was engaged to. Erased from reality.

Transport:
None yet.

Weapons:
The Sledge: A large, reinforced sledgehammer. If the problem can't be fixed through more coercive methods, then it can be hammered out.

Biography:
Albin spent his youngest days in Station Square under the care of his mother Melissa and (for a short time) his father Daren. Albin was not long 2 years old when Daren left him an his mother. To this day, Albin only has vague memories of his father. Despite Daren leaving, Melissa kept going, picking up a job so to care for herself and Albin. It was rough going for a few years there.

During his youngest days, Albin was already larger then the other anthros, and even larger then some of the human kids. For kids, this gathered some amount of respect. Albin enjoyed it, and even better, he took a hold of that respect, happily taking up the leadership roll for himself and his friends. He could even bluff bullies out of beating them up just off of his size most of the time. Occasionally it resulted in a scuffle, but kids that age really can't do too much to each other before mothers or sitters are there to separate them.

During the later months of Albin's 6th year, his mother started dating another equine named Derik. He didn't really know what to think of the guy at first, other then that he was interesting, and later on nice, if not just a little disconcerting as someone different entering his and his mother's life. Not long after Albin was 7, Derik and Mellissa married. Derik provided well for them, though he was a bit heavier handed as a disciplinarian then Mellissa was. He also expected more then Mellissa had. While she was happy for no less then Cs, Derik required no less then Bs (and was only happy with As), and that Albin do some sort of secondary activity like Student Council or Band. This left a bit of a rift between Derik and Albin, even though the intent was to try and have Albin excel. He also got scolded far more for any of the (rarer) scuffles that Albin got into. Around this time, Albin's sister was born.

It couldn't be said, however, that it didn't have a positive influence. Albin did move to excel. When middle school time came, he was involved both with Student Council and Debate Club, and was making As and Bs regularly. Even if one could win a fight against him, no one wanted to mess with the respect he commanded among the student body. Especially after he found 'other ways' and 'other people' to deal with his problems. It took 2 years for the school to figure out Albin had been organizing particular groups against each other to 'punish' them or to keep them busy with each other rather then harassing other students. That was probably the madest Derik had ever gotten, scolding Albin for quite a while and grounding him for weeks. In the end, this argument is probably what locked the rift between the two in place where it was.

In all truth, most of this rift was set in place by Albin. It made highschool somewhat difficult, as Albin was rather resistant to any of Derik's suggestions or advice (and especially to discipline). He'd often avoid home when he could, despite getting scolded for doing just that as soon as he got home. Albin maintained his grades and after-school activities, though. He had grown to enjoy them at this point and despite the one tarnish on his student record, it paved the way to college scholarships and College itself.

Albin made both a fantastic and horrible frat boy. He wasn't much a fan of alcohol, but he sure loved to have fun and the women who might attend parties. Of course, himself attending was difficult at times, as at this point he was the sort who had it ingrained in him to deal with homework and activities first such as Internships and Student Council. But in all of it, he trumped up his image, used his charisma, found the diplomatic solution in all things. ...Except those he couldn't. And in this, he found he was willing to do almost whatever to get what he wished. Certain things were still taboo, but doing so much as to taint someone's name to better his position wasn't out of the question. Even going so far as planting drugs on someone who had beat up a good college buddy and directing the cops that way. Whatever it was, he insured that his way was had.

He also met his sweat heart, Katherine during his final years in college. One more person he'd do whatever he could for, as he would for his family and friends. But she became someone he'd do that much more then that for. His best memories of her involve staring into those green eyes she had, one of which was on the edge of the lake in the moonlight. A memory he holds tightly to and holds dear. A moment in which two people are enjoying nothing more then each others presences, without worries.

Several years spent in college to get degrees in business. He first got a job with a steal manufacturing corporation while trying to set up a business plan of his own on the side. He was in the management side of things, and often dealt with people. He always tried to insure that his interactions with them were positive, and that they were happy with their jobs. He also moved into an apartment with Katherine after he got the job. A few days before the dimensions merged, he proposed to her before she was about to leave for a seminar for her own work. That was the last time he saw her.

Then the world was shattered with about a dozen others, and the jigsaw of pieces that were left were slammed into the broken puzzle that the world is now. The city that Albin now stood in was a place ruled by an iron fist under martial law. At first, this was his only concern. Escaping as best he could from the city in the middle of the confusion while trying to find his parents and sister, his only companion during that being the sledgehammer he keeps to this day and the few people he escaped with, none of which were his family.

Quote:People drinking, laughing, and generally having a good time. Recounting memories both happy and sad among friends. But not just friends: Family. This bar, whether anyone would admit to it or not, was Family property. Not like that meant much unless you were in the underworld. Generally, lesser thieves found such places to be safe havens, because as long as you didn't hurt anyone or steal anything, they didn't care about you.

Today was a special day. Albin had come down to chill with the bunch. They'd even convinced him to down a few drinks despite his distaste for the stuff.

"So then, so then she says, 'How was I supposed to know that was a Fire Hydrant." Everyone laughs, despite half of them missing half the joke. When you're drunk, it occasionally makes things funnier. "But yea... So hey, Albin. I've seen your office a few times. That Hammer you have, that thing you've had as long as I've known you. Where'd you get that?"

He looked over and kinda raised an eyebrow. "Awe ****, man. That's a sad tale. You don't want me to tell you all that."

"Psshaa. You wouldn't be the first here to tell a sad tale. Were Family. Lay it on us."

He wouldn't show his discomfort with the idea. Even with a good buzz, he had half a mind on trying to keep his appearance up. Instead, seeing no other options, he pressed forward. "I got that thing the Day of the Merger. Before then... I'd always lived in Station Square, just like many of you lot. That place was my fuggin' home before it got twisted into the 'hole it is now. It was utter chaos. Suddenly, people from at least half a dozen 'Squares pop into the middle of this dictator's place, on top of what he already had. People who hadn't suffered years of subjugation. He was confused, we were confused."

"While we didn't know what was going on, we knew this: His police units were trying to suppress us, and we wouldn't have that scat. Heck no. The egghead suddenly had some dozen riots all over the city. The people over where I was, we broke into a construction site and quickly picked up whatever we could to defend ourselves with. That's when I found The Sledge."

"In the end, though, After the initial fighting, after having time to think, I realized something. I had Important things I had to make sure were protected. My family, my gal. I needed to find them. And this Robotnik guy, back then, I didn't know jack scat about him! No one did. Do you know how hard it is to fight an enemy you know nothing about?"

"Anyway, the factor was we still had to fight. And I knew I wasn't the only one worried about family. So I talked to several guys. Ones I knew who were as concerned as I. One of them was Rekard. He still hangs with me, I don't know what I'd do without him. We traveled as quickly as we could across the city, going to where everyone's family might be. We found some folk. Others, like mine and Rekard's were missing. When we got to my Mom's place... We couldn't find her or my sister. Mostly because half the building's face was blown off. There were bodies in the rubble, chared remnants of what used to be people. I... I wish I coulda given them proper burial."

Albin tries to keep the tears back, but truly believing one's closest family, true family, is dead is a hard thing. One of the other Family members pats Albin's back. "Hey, We've all had it that hard. We're here for ya just like you are for us."

"Anyway, once we tried for everyone, we made best speed out, trying to make sure everyone got out. Something that simply didn't happen. About half of us made it. I broke ways with them once safely out. After that, I traveled. I tried to find the last thing dear to me, only to find... That city she went to. It didn't exist anymore. It, and her, were gone."

"And that's when I got the idea for the Family. That's when I decided, I would set things right. That WE would set things right. That everything would be returned to as it was and as it should! I got in contact with some of the people I knew who escaped. Some of them helped me get into contact with others. Do you know how many shattered families there were. Not just shattered families, but those farces that they call gangs? Chunks of them, disheveled and without a purpose. I gave them a purpose we could all cling to. With them all, we started the Construction Business."

"It was these people, the first vestiges of the Family, that showed me How to use my Hammer. Before, it was simply trial and error. A slow and clumsy process that worked well enough to get me by. But we, as a Family, learned how to use our tools as weapons. Because we need to protect ourselves and each other however and with whatever we can. I got some hands on experience as well. Unfortunately, most of us have had to, at some point or another. Some boss or another of some underground group doesn't understand that We Meant Business. Some man who thought he was Big Shot. Let me tell you, when you're pounded into a fresh hole in the concrete, you're not much of a big shot anymore."

"It's been with me, all this time, from the very beginning. A reminder that we have to Fight to get what we want. That we will have to fight and that we'll do it with whatever means possible. I fought for my family with it and I've fought for The Family with it. At this point, it's Family too."

At first, he tried to travel the world, to find the city where Katherine had went. She was the only thing left to him he cared about. This only resulted in the saddest news he could find. The city Katherine had went to simply didn't exist anymore, one of the many pieces that didn't make it here. And so Albin was left a broken man on a broken world, nothing left to his name.

With that, he made a decision. He was someone who always got what he wanted. Not because he demanded it, but because he did what he had to, whatever it was, to obtain it. He would have his Katherine back. Clutching the only photo he had of her, he sweared on this and set his goal and sights upon the Emeralds. He would tear asunder the very reality of the world and rebuild it as it was..

With no money and nothing to his name, he had to start from the ground up. But that was just fine with him. He's a man of business, and he knows how to get things done. He's started by talking to several smaller gangs in smaller cities and in Station Square, particularly ones who had been shattered and left without leadership. With them, he built The Family. And with the Family, he built a front. The first business is a Construction Company. Something in high demand. It was built near Soleana, using mainly equipment and supplies left abandoned in the aftermath. The second company is still in construction, a casino only labeled as 'Casino Night,' built near a town outside of Soleana's jurisdiction.

Albin commands a lot of respect in the criminal underground. He doesn't mess with anyone unless they mess with him, and he'd much rather deal with things in a diplomatic fashion. Additionally, he's often the one supplying weapons, leaving them somewhat reliant on him, exactly how he wants it.

Moves/Combat Style:
Albin has a concise, heavy, and steady style of doing things. It's slower then most people out there, but it's solid, and definitely something you don't want to get in the way of, as both he and his weapon are very large and heavy objects.

He has a few special attacks. Anyone attuned to magic or chaos energies would probably notice these use a minute amount of the ambient energy, unintentionally summoned forth by the user. Usually, the attacks aren't done intentionally, but simply happen. They're rare at best, but are a bit more common when he's either truly into the fight, or particularly miffed at whatever he's fighting.

Crack-a-Toe-a: Albin stomps the ground with such might, it's like his own little mini-earthquake in the space directly in front of him. More specifically, it's more of a 3' by 6' strip of ground in front of him. Named for the occasional cracks it makes in concrete or asphalt when performed.

POW: Albin's hammer seems to be energized for a short moment, having additional kick in the impact. While one would think it would do more damage, it really doesn't (Disclaimer: this doesn't include damaged involved in actually landing. Rather, it tends to add a lot more momentum to whatever it hits, often causing these things to actually get knocked several feet or even a couple dozen feet from the hit. This happens when the energy transfers from the hammer, rather then adding energy to the impact, it travels into whatever is hit and acts as a multiplier on their own kinetic energy in the short few moments after the impact.

Hardline Run: Albin basically charges into his foe and knocks them flat with the force of pure mass and speed. Tends to move a little faster then normal when doing this.

Boot: Probably the closest thing Albin has to any ranged attack, he takes the nearest heavy object he can find and simply boots it really hard and fast at his foe. The heaviest object booted has been a Microwave, which was a strain on Albin as far as the ability goes. It flew a good 40 ft. Lighter objects have been known to go farther, thought usually doing so within reason.

Chaos/Sol Move - Tremor: Taking in a lot more of the ambient energy around him, Albin slams his hammer into the ground before him in one mighty swing, striking with such an impressive force as to cause a shockwave and localized tremor. Those in the radius will find it hard to keep standing and not get knocked back from the force of the strike, and those actually struck by the hammer will find themselves in a world of hurt. Takes 2-4 turns to gather enough energy (not including the turn actually attacking), usually spent monologuing and telling you how you can't defeat him. 2 turns will get a 10 ft radius. 4 turns will manage a 20ft radius. The attack is rather short in life span. Once the ground is bashed and the shockwave has passed, it's over. This will leave Albin exhausted.

Team Burst - Sales Pitch: An ally is taken up and literally pitched at their foe and breathtaking speeds. While seemingly simply, the ally is empowered by the energies flowing through Albin, allowing them to deal additional damage in whatever means they use when they arrive at their target. People are rather heavy things. He could probably only throw Rekard 10-15 feet and would probably be used more like a bowling ball, for example. Someone light like Sonic the Hedgehog (Just for an example) would probably go a good 45 ft, and would probably be done like a fastball pitch.

Skills:
Business Acumen: He didn't go to college for several years not to understand it well.

Knowledge (Underground): Albin is a man whose nose is into everything. He knows the criminal element well, and very much plans to dive right in.

Diplomacy: Albin tends to like to talk before doing anything heavy handed, and has become quite a diplomatic individual.

Strengths:
Large - Albin is a massive individual. He even makes some humans look small. A person of his size can take hits and dish them out, too.

Empathic - Not any special power. He just has a tendency to notice a lot of things on a social level, both in groups and individuals. It's often been a driving force for him.

Weaknesses:
Dexterity Lacking - 3 fingers and a thumb with hoove-like covers on the tips? Not for messing with small things or little hand work. To serve as an example, he usually dictates to a secretary because he hates trying to type himself.

Agility Lacking - While he's not slow, he's not exactly the cat on the field, either. He can't really dodge or jump that well, typically having to block or even simply take the blow coming for him.

Name: Rekard Jamison
Age: 25
Gender: M
Species: Brown Bear
Appearance: Rekard is about 4'10" and bulky, both in muscle and fat. He has brown and gray fur. His right eye, over to his right ear, all the way to halfway down his back is a streak of solid gray fur. He has black hair on his head, and green eyes. He's often seen wearing clothing in parallel to whatever Albin is wearing, be it casual or business attire.

Personality: Rekard seems like a serious but mellow dude. In truth, this is because most people see him at work. When at home, he's simply mellow. He regards others tentatively, even with some suspicion at times and is slow to make friends, though being friends with him is a good thing as he is a great friend. He tends to like watching sports and tv. Hates actually playing sports or doing anything that requires that sort of energy. He also likes going to bars and sitting and talking with friends for hours about whatever comes up, be it sports, current news, or nearly anything else under the sun.

Relation to Character: Enforcer, Butler, and long-time Family member.

Skills: Not only is Rekard built like a brawler, he is a brawler, being quite the street fighter. He also keeps a sawed off shotgun for those times dealing with more criminal elements. Finally, he tends to do well in butler-type duties, fetching things, mixing drinks, and other little things like that.

Uses for Character: He's Albin's handyman, the one usually at his side during the day and sure to get things done. Albin also likes having him around to bounce ideas off of.
