Appearance: Roberta has retained her blond, straight hair and her aqua-blue eyes throughout the years. Her skin is a light color, and she doesn't paint her fingernails, but she does trim them. Her breasts are... well, I'm not so indecent that I'd take a ruler to a lady's bust, but they're a reasonable size for someone in her late 30's.
Roberta's usual outfit is a skintight, full-body black jumpsuit, which is fitted with a zipper in the front so she can put it on or take it off. She wears white underwear underneath it, just in case something goes wrong. Her gunbelt, in which she stores her weapon as well as some extra ammo, is sewn directly onto the jumpsuit. The jumpsuit covers her hands and feet completely, but she still wears a pair of black military boots over the suit.

Personality: Unlike her cousin Ivo, Roberta is quite kindhearted. If there's anything she cares about, it's making peace. She believes deeply in the notion that it's possible for the whole world to get along if it really wants to, and war and genocide can be eliminated for good.
Roberta isn't fond of being pressured. If you tell her to do something she doesn't want to do, she'll most likely argue with you. She wouldn't be interested in handling a weapon if she wasn't sure that it would be used in the name of preserving the peace. She wasn't like this before her "death", but fifty years of the third degree can do that to you.
Roberta likes to make friends, but her true identity is top secret, so she won't tell you unless she's absolutely sure she can trust you. She tries very hard not to fall victim to any of the Seven Deadly Sins, and despises anyone who does, but she's willing to teach them the error of their ways, and will forgive them once they see it.

Family: Cousin of Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik, granddaughter of the late Gerald Robotnik. No other living relatives.

Transport: Roberta does not have any personal vehicles; she relies on generic GUN-issue transport to get around.

Weapons: Roberta is trained in the use of various gun-type weapons, most of which she can handle reasonably well but not perfectly, but her personal tool and the one she specializes in is a simple low-calibur pistol that's easy to aim and shoot. It's equipped with a silencer, and the clip holds 16 bullets at a time.

Biography (this is the most important part, so read up!):
Maria was raised by her grandfather, Gerald Robotnik, aboard the space colony ARK. Her best friend was a black hedgehog named Shadow, which Gerald had (presumably) bred as an experiment to develop the ultimate life form. But tragedy struck, and GUN ordered the professor to cease his research because it was too dangerous. When he refused, they invaded. Shadow got out via an escape pod, and Gerald was arrested, but Maria was shot and killed on the scene.

...Well, that's the way it happened as the public heard about it. But the true story's a little different.

Maria wasn't actually killed, but the gunshot wound was quite severe and left her in a coma for several weeks. GUN, believing Maria was a key source of information regarding her grandfather's research, had taken her into custody and given her the emergency medical treatment required to save her life. They had also administered a special serum that slowed her body's natural aging process; presumably it was necessary so she would not die before they had a chance to finish the operation.

Maria was assigned the false name "Roberta Marigold" so nobody would know that Maria Robotnik was still alive. She was questioned for a long time about her grandfather's research, and she was cooperative until she heard that her grandfather had gone insane and passed away. Now angry at GUN, Maria Roberta grew stubborn and refused to answer the questions she was asked.

The next few decades passed very slowly for Roberta, but when she wasn't being pressed she passed the time by participating in GUN's military training, which she did willingly. Then came the day when she learned that Shadow had been re-awakened by Dr. Eggman. Anxious, Roberta demanded that she be allowed on GUN's active military force, hoping that she could get the chance to meet Shadow again. No such luck; she still had to undergo several tests to prove that she was military material, and before she could finish, the fated showdown between Sonic and Shadow and the Biolizard had already taken place, and Shadow had "died".

Somehow, Roberta could sense that Shadow was still alive. Since she had suddenly become more open with her information since hearing about Shadow's reawakening, GUN let her pass the test, which she did with flying colors.

Roberta is currently stationed as a platoon leader in the western region. Her one true goal in life is to meet Shadow again.

Military training: Roberta's training in the GUN military is very well-rounded. She can perform almost any task required, and is a jack of all GUN trades. (Fallacy: Though she's a jack of all trades, she's a master of none. She can't perform a task as well as a specialist in the area could.)
