Joining Procedure

Greetings and welcome to Sonic Aftermath RPG! This guide is provided to help those new to the board get their profile sorted and get them playing as fast as possible.


1) Registering

As a guest, you have the option to view the entire board, but you cannot post other than in the Questions & Problems Forum. In order to gain minimal posting rights, you have to register an account. Below the board banner is a registration button. Hit that and fill in the short form and your account will be activated. Initially, your account will have the status 'Awaiting Activation' and an email will be sent to the email account you provided. Follow the instructions in the email and your account will be upgraded to 'Awaiting Authorisation'. We would like to point out that your account name should be the same as the character you intend to play as. At this time, you will now be able to post in the OOC sections. In order to become involved in the main roleplay section, you must have your character approved.

2) Information

Before you attempt to create a character profile, you should read the board rules and consider them. You should also look over the storyline and any other information contained within the same forum as this topic.

3) Character Creation

Now that you have all the information you need, it's time for you to create a character to roleplay as. Please give this the proper time and attention it requires. A well thought out profile always impresses people more than something that was rushed. You can find a character template HERE that you should use to submit your profile. Once your profile is complete, post it in the same forum as the template and await a review by the staff.

In addition to original characters, you are also allowed to play as official characters from any Sonic continuity, so long as they aren't already taken by other players. However, you still have to create a character profile like you were making one for an original character. You may use resources like fan websites to help you write your official character profile, but you must give credit for all sources you use. All text in the profile must be written by you as well. You may not copy directly from any website or other material. Specifically, Concept Mobius and entries on Wikipedia or wikias are off limits.

Once your profile has been reviewed and any required changes, made, your account will be alter to the 'Member' group and you are free to post in the RPG.

4) Diving In

All that's left to do now is jump into the RPG in whatever place you see fit. Try checking the topics running to see if you could step into any of them or maybe check the Aftermath Gazette for recent storyline developments.
