Character and NPC Template
Character and NPC Template
You need to create a profile to become active in the RPG. Official characters that do not change from their original form may go as allowed with a basic "official character" profile. Otherwise, we recommend that this template is used. Name: All characters need a name, preferably, so that it’s easier to keep track of who is who. Your account name should be the same as your character or similar to it. Age: What’s their age? You can even give us a birth date if you want. Bare in mind that this should tie into your history. If you’re a master at something, then you aren’t going to be six. Sex: M or F? Species: Your character's species. This can be an animal, human or a robot if that is your desire. Faction: If you wish to in a faction please state it here, if not then leave this section blank. Alignment: Is your character a Hero, Neutral or a Villain? Appearance: This can be simply an image if you like. Otherwise, a short description of what they look like is in order. You can go into as much detail as you like but we always say that the more, the better. At the minimum, we normally ask for a description of their fur colour and markings (if you’re a fur) and what they usually wear. Personality: This section is quite important as it’ll govern how your character reacts to others. Try to give us as much information as possible: how they react around others, what they’re like alone, likes, dislikes, etc. You can put anything you like here and the more information you give, the better people will be able to reply to you in character. Family: Some people prefer to detail this in their bio but you can also list them here if desired. All family members will be classed as NPCs if you want to use them as such. Transport: An optional section. If your character has something to get them from A to B, then list it here. This can also be controlled by an NPC if you want. Just don’t go crazy. No spaceships please. Weapons: A second optional section. Some characters carry weapons of one kind or another. If yours does, then let us know here and give us a short description of what it is. We normally allow most weapons but we normally don’t allow more than two major ones. We are open to negotiation with good reason though. Biography: Most would agree this is a character's most important part of a profile. Tell us how your character grew up and got to where he is right now. We aren’t looking for a novel here. We appreciate that some people do not want to write that much. All we ask is for a little detail on who they are and what they do. Just a couple of things we’d like to point out. If you intend to have your character not know who they are (i.e. amnesia or something like this), then please don’t just write “unknown”. Even if they don’t know who they are, you as the creator do. At least tell us why they don’t know who they are. What we normally say is a little bit of information on their childhood, a bit of their later years and information on any major events. This could be how they acquired a skill, weapon, or if anything happened to their family. Moves/Combat Style: This section can be taken as you like. What it should include is some info on how your character fights. For example, do they use close quarters combat or do they prefer a ranged or even magic approach? You should also use this section to detail any moves your character might have, or you can choose to keep this information a secret for now and play it out in the RPG (in this case, the staff will need a list of your moves sent to us via a PM, so we can check them in secret). We just ask for a little common sense in this case. Don’t go inventing an endless string of moves to suit every situation. The only thing we don’t allow are auto hitting moves or anything that is unblockable, unavoidable, or instant killing (exceptions may be in the case of the player character acting it out on NPC's but only if permitted by the staff). Keep those points in mind but otherwise it’s an open field. You are allowed a total of six moves/spells/etc, one Chaos/Sol move and one team burst move. Skills: Does your character possess any skills? Are they good with machines or perhaps they have a knack for first aid or tactics? Feel free to list your character’s talents here. Three or four is a good number if you want that many. If you list any more, we may start asking for disadvantages to equal your skills out a little. Strengths: Unlike skills, this section should be your character's advantages over others. This could be their speed, their ability to think things out, or maybe they are tougher than most. You can list as many as you like but we ask that for every advantage you give your character, you give them a disadvantage as well. Weaknesses: This should counter balance your character's strengths. You can’t be as fast as Sonic and tough as Knuckles at the same time now, can you? Also, be aware that we will be on the lookout for ‘pointless’ weaknesses. For example, a fear of spiders is not a weakness. Notes on Profile Critiquing Please be aware that once you have finished your profile and posted it, the staff will review it for problems. Nothing the staff says is a personal attack and shouldn’t be taken as such. If they request changes to be made, you are free to talk the changes over with them and work something out that is acceptable to both sides. We do this in order to maintain as fair of a playing field as we can for everyone on the board. For a profile to be accepted, it must receive two votes. A moderator counts as one, an admin. as two. Once these have been given, your account will be fully activated and you are free to start Rping. |

RE: Character Template
Each player character is allowed to have several NPCs to help them out or interact with. These characters should not be to high profile and won't be battle characters. Think of them more as friends or family to your character and they should fill in roles that your character doesn't. For instance you could have a limo driver if you're a rich business character, or perhaps you need a spouce or child. Whatever the reason for having an NPC you will need to include them in your profile at the bottom if you wish to use them within the RPG itself. Please use the following mini profile for all NPCs.
Name: Name of NPC. Age: Age of NPC. Gender: M or F? Species: Your NPCs species, this can be an animal, human or a robot if that is your desire. Appearance: This can be simply an image if you like, otherwise a short description of what they look like is in order. You can go into as much detail as you like but we always say that the more the better. At the minimum we normally ask for a description of their fur colour and markings (if you’re a fur) and what they usually wear. Personality: This section is quite important as it’ll govern how your NPC reacts to others. Try to give us as much information as possible, how they react around others, what they’re like alone, likes, dislikes, etc. You can put anything you like here and the more information you give the better people will be able to reply to you in character. Relation to Character: Friend, relative or other? Skills: What skills does your NPC have. One or two only please per NPC. Uses for Character: Why do you have this NPC and how is he useful to your character. |
