Restart: Thoughts?

I sure do miss Rasha, Jodes. Probably the only friend Sonno had on here! XD

I am going to alter Sonno's profile heavily once I get all the details worked out. Things have been working out for me lately and I'm deciding whether or not to go along with the whole dark brooding Sonno.

XD She was a fun character to play as. Probably the most curious pattern of dialect I've ever used. A lot of my characters tend to talk like me or talk formally. If I ever find the urge to pick her up again, I just might. I had fun roleplaying as her with you.

Whether or not I get involved again is mostly going to depend on the specifics of the rules, how lenient they are...or just how far I could get away with bending them. ^^U I'd still be using Dan Dark, of course, but if it'd be permissible, I'd go with a fairly different background for him, one I've actually wanted to toy with for...ages. Which... I'm figuring I'll just mention now, so the staff could see and comment on it..... I'd want him to originate from a different planet. Yeah... And, if it could be specific... Corellia. ...yeah, the one from Star Wars. <<;; I'm crazy, yes, I know, thank you. The main thing is I want him to have his ship with him (which would probably end up damaged during the course of arriving "here," so as to keep it from being over-powered, and to provide some plot elements for him at the same time), and that could be done without there being any direct connections to Star Wars, if necessary.... but it'd be so much more fun if that would be allowed. ^^;;

So... that's the basic idea behind the concept I'm considering. And I have no idea whether or not it'd be permissible, even in part. Hence why I'm asking. And if it's crazy...well, we know that already, actually; question is, though, is it too crazy, or would something like this be allowable...?

I'd like to stay away from cross-overs only because I don't want everyone and their mom to go bat@#$% over them. I don't care if he has a Star Wars-like ship or powers influenced from the Star Wars universe, but I would appreciate having no ties to it otherwise. This is Sonic Aftermath, after all. Emphasis on Sonic.

And...since I posted, this topic has died, eh? >> I suppose there isn't a whole lot left to discuss until the restart goes into effect, sure, but even so, plenty of people haven't posted thoughts on what they might do with their characters... (not saying anyone has to, of course, but, ya know, it'd be something to do to pass the time. *shrugs*)

On my character, though.. yeah, I suppose that does make sense. We wouldn't want everyone doing crossover characters, and even if it were mainly only used for backstory and in-character dialog like I'd been thinking, it wouldn't serve much point. After all, if this planet has never heard of the Empire, if he started talking about stormtroopers and TIE Fighters and the like, people would probably just stare at him as if he were crazy. And like you said, the focus is supposed to be on Sonic, and that's part of why I haven't bothered trying to find any Star Wars boards. I think it'd be cool to see a Sonic world, set against a Star Wars backdrop. How would Robotnik react to the Empire? Jedi to the Chaos Emeralds? I think it would make for some interesting scenarios... but, I suppose that's going to have to remain an idea for another time.

To be honest, I've actually roleplayed that out once and it wasn't too bad, but it was a single thread roleplay and it was more centered around the fancharacters themselves being in the Star Wars universe (although they really were Sonic fancharacters). It wasn't all that successful though, but I do think a lot of it had to do with the quality of the fellow roleplayers I was with. I say if you're that curious, make it. I'm sure with how gigantic both fandoms are, there's bound to be people interested in both.

Change in personality, an extended backstory, and change in abilities. Again, it's not final, at least not yet.

I figured I'd give this a try: I was going to bring a character of mine long left our back into the light. A man by the name of Albin Padriag whose background simply screams 'Mafia.' Figure I'd have him as more or less a member of the Theives guild. Have him running a Casino (Perhaps Casino Night Zone? ) and running his business from there. Basically, into the business of buying and selling information as well as providing a 'safe house' for other Guild Members or neutral ground for said Members to meet on. He'd also be working his magic to undermine the governments as best he could to help bolster his own power. Perhaps every now and then get into some weapons or people smuggling or something to really let people get into.

Qesun probably wouldn't change much. He'd probably end up in Soleana to help try and find a solution so that the world doesn't shatter and all that. Seems a better place to be as an Archeologist Adventurer.

A character I wanted to bring back this round, but never got around to was Jilua. She'll probably end up with the freedom fighters, though I'll have to figure out how much of her tribal nature she will retain once we start up again. The Flute-Staff will be returning, though.
