Height- 110 cm

Weight- 40kg

-Knuckles is an echidna of a vivid red quills. He stands roughly around 3.5 feet tall ( five inches taller than Sonic) with a slightly boarder frame of that of his blue speedy friend. A white crest which looks like a crescent moon but turned to look like a smile is placed at the front of his chest. His said quills are formed into long dreadlocks and his tail is shaped like a lightning bolt. His muzzle is tan with a black nose in which vivid purple eyes gaze out from and as his name implys, his knuckles which point out like upside down ice cream cones.

Knuckles’s style hasn’t changed much as he has always worn the same white pair of gloves ( which look more like a mixture of mittens and boxing gloves) and red shoes with a single yellow strap across the middle held together by a plate of metal with 6 bolts on each plate and green at the top of the shoes. But since then, he has added a light brown cowboy hat with a dark brown strap held by a buckle of a red star inside a yellow circle. Also, he now has four bracers (obviously artifacts of what his race once wore) that look like they are made out of stone with a purple round jewel on two sides. Two of them are worn over the ends of his gloves and the other two are on the front dreadlock on the left. An extra tongue has been added which are green with a yellow middle.

Personality:

If Sonic symbolizes the wind, then Knuckles must be a Mountain. Calm and determined, messing with this echidna is asking for a beat- down. Sworn to the duty of protecting of the master gem, the Master Emerald, Knuckles is a bit of a loner and anti-social. His slight gullibility and honest nature leads to be mistrusting to just about everybody that he meets; though, once getting past a few differences, he’ll be quite trusting and an invaluable ally. Should you ever try to mess with that trust or just plainly mess with him period, you’re going to get it. Despite his calm attitude at times, you should always be aware of his short fuse because once lit, you’re a goner. He stands his ground firmly in battle and will not give in to anything, which sometimes turns into a problem as it’s extremely hard to get him to retreat when it’s need. Though he usually is by himself as he is independent and relies only on himself.

Sonic is speed, Tails is brains, which would naturally make Knuckles the brawns of the gang. But just don't go and assume that Knuckles is an idiot. Sure, Knuckles isn’t the brightest bulb in the box, but he makes it up by being clever, able to sneak up on the enemy and to do the unexpected. Knuckles also has a strong since of justice and a bit of chivalry which can always be a thorn in his side as he finds it a bit difficult to fight woman.

Relations ( friends/enemies):

Sonic the Hedgehog: At first, they were rivals in Knuckles eye as he was a bit bitter with him. He would team up with him and his friend Tails, but he didn’t exactly like it. At that time, he only had a little bit of trust towards them, especially after Robotnik’s lie. But since then as the two just kept running into each other, only a fragment of that rivalry remains. Knuckles has a mutual understanding towards him, but still prefers to be by himself. He is also a bit envious of Sonic’s lifestyle.

Status: friend, trusted.

Miles ‘Tails’ Prower: - Just like Sonic, he didn’t exactly trust the little fox boy, but once they continued to meet he trusted him fully. He feels as though Tails is a bit like family ( most likely a little brother like Sonic) since he never really had one. Though, he gets slightly confused whenever Tails brings out the technical jargon.

Status: friend, trusted.

Amy Rose: - In reality, Knuckles doesn’t seem to trust Amy as much as some of the others he knows. This is slightly because he has yet to really work alongside her like Sonic and Tails, as his trust towards her is simply because Sonic and Tails do. He also finds it a little hard to be around her as he is secretly shy around girls, not knowing exactly what to do.

Status: Ally, slightly trusted.

The Chaotix( applies to Vector, Charmy, Mighty, Espio): Ever since they’re first encounter, Knuckles seemed to actually be quite trusting to the group of misfits known as the Chaotix. But it has been quite a while since they’re first meeting so there’s not much to say.

Status: Old friend(s), trusted.

Dr. Robotnik: Not many people can completely tire Knuckles nerves, but Robotnik seems to be able to do it quite well. Even the mention of that man seems to make Knuckles want to punch someone in the face. Ever since they’re first encounter, Knuckles has disliked the ‘Good’ Doctor, and seems to want to take him down personally. And throughout, time, and time again Knuckles has always ended up meeting him in some way. And the more that happens, the more he seems to dislike him.

Status: Enemy, not trusted

Rouge the Bat: Not much to say about Rouge since the Ark incident. He has yet to see the bat girl since then, but so far he is only friendly terms, but since she tried to steal the Emerald, he doesn’t’ completely trust her. He also has a bit of a crush on her.

Status: Friendly terms, not trusted though.

Biography:

Knuckles’s past has always been a bit fuzzy. He doesn’t seem to remember ever having any parents and if anyone else happened to be on the island. All he could remember was that his name was Knuckles and that he was to protect the Master Emerald.

Knuckles didn’t seem to be bothered by being by himself on the island. In fact, he enjoyed it. Angel Island was a peacefully place and like its name it was heavenly to him. Why yearn for adventure when living in such a place? He felt connected to it and it was his home. And personally, he never wanted to leave it. Of course, it wasn’t like he could, anyways. He had the Master Emerald to protect. Why he needed to do, though, he didn’t know. Ever since he was a child there was something about that Emerald that called to him. In fact, it seemed like as he slept something was talking to him, telling him what he need to do. It was a strange presence that he couldn’t describe and in fact it made him feel as though he wasn’t alone and helped him cope with it.

Throughout his childhood as he lived by himself, he had to learn things on his own. Some task were easier than others.

Reading was not one of them.

But, as it seemed something was telling him he need to know how to. So, he learned through trying to read old scrolls and manual scripts that laid in the different catacombs of the underground ruins in which the Emerald was kept. It wasn’t the hardest thing for him to learn, but he didn’t like reading period. It bothered him that he was sitting down doing absolutely nothing but reading about his race or about the Master Emerald. But something was telling him to read and so he did like a kid doing chores because there parent forced them too.

On day, of course, as he looked through the scrolls he happened to stumble onto something interesting. Instead of a scroll of just information, it was information on something a little different.

Fighting.

He read through them curiously and a feel of joy came from within. Finally, some information that was actually useful! The scrolls were listed in order from beginning styles of metals arts to advanced styles. Of course, thinking it was simple, he tried to do the advanced scrolls and ended up hurting himself, which forced him to sulk back to grab the beginner’s scrolls.

Years passed. He trained for hours in the Master Emerald’s room, determined to get to the advanced scrolls and then after that to finish them. Occasionally, he read some of the other information in the other scrolls, but soon after he stopped reading them completely and completely dedicated himself to mastering the scrolls and keeping with the Master Emerald.

By 14 years, Knuckles had completely mastered the scrolls, and then some. He was strong, agile. Even the advanced scrolls were like child’s play. His strength was un-parallel. Nothing could stand in his way. Nothing. But even he knew that his training wouldn’t stop there. No, he still had to train. He had to train to get stronger, better, so that he could face anything that got in his way in order to protect the master gem.

But there are some things he just couldn’t protect.
Knuckles never truly paid attention to the mural, especial one in particular. There was some strange huge creature with a hand extended towards another creature which appeared to be blue with a yellow aura surrounding it. He simply thought of it as some strange piece of artwork. Little did he know it was a sign of what was to happen.

One years passed, and something that would inedibility change his lone lifestyle happened.

The day was nice, clear. The air was fresh as usual and the grass was new with the morning dew. Knuckles was sitting on a branch inside a tree, enjoying the day as he leaned back with his eyes closed merrily munching on his breakfast (a bunch of grapes, his favorite). After finished he stared into the light blue sky.

‘What a nice day.’ He thought happily to himself, ‘The sun’s shining, the birds are chirping, the winds blowing nicely and there’s something falling from the sky towards th-‘

His nice mood automatically snapped.

“Something’s falling towards the island?!” He yelled to himself. He climbed to the top of the tree as quickly as he could. As soon as he got to the top, he squinted his eyes, trying to see the object clearly. Unfortunately for him, he had no idea what it was. All he knew was that it was coming in fast.

He began to panic. What was he going to do?!
He reacted in the only way he could. He began to go towards the direction it was falling.

He glided from tree to tree, frantic about what was going to happen. Where was it going to land? Was it going to send the island flying into the waters below? What WAS it?

Halfway, there was a earth shattering BOOM and a large rumble as he saw it with terrifying eyes slam into the ground. Thankfully, to his relief, the island was fine and wasn’t going to be plunged into the water.

It still didn’t mark out everything else, though.
He soon got to the crash site, already clam from his previous panic as he became series to face whatever was going to come out. He surveyed the area carefully, and was cautious as he began to walk around it, looking for whatever caused it.

He’s answers were soon to come as he saw something that he never saw before. It was…something. It was some kind of creature he never saw before. It was tall, with an extremely light tan fur…or was it just skin? At that time, he really couldn’t tell. It wore a red suit with a yellow cape black pants and boots. And it was….large…and abnormal to him. It was turned with his back towards him, which gave Knuckles a chance to sneak up on it.

He walked slowly towards it with caution, holding his fist up in defense as he came towards the creature. It appeared to speak the same language as him, but he couldn’t tell what it was saying since it was muttering in a low and possible angry tone. As soon as he was a foot away, he decided to make himself known to it.

“Who are you, and what’s your purpose!?” He barked towards the strange thing in an ordering tone.

The creature, or human in this matter, introduced himself to Knuckles as Dr. Ivo Robotnik. To Knuckles surprise, the man knew about his ancestral race and explained his situation clearly.

Apparently the huge mass of metal was his Observatory Space Station, and that a foul, demonic, hedgehog had destroyed it causing it to collide with his island. He also explained how the hedgehog’s name was Sonic and that he was to know that he was pure evil.

Most people would of known this was a fat lie, but Knuckles didn’t. He knew what lying was like, just not the acting type. And with no people around it just made him inexperienced with what was right and wrong in general.

But after the sad, fake, tale Knuckles decided that he would help the Doctor with his hedgehog problem, because once the Doctor mentioned the Chaos Emeralds, Knuckles knew it only meant that the hedgehog would be after the Master Emerald. It was here Knuckles made the biggest mistake.

He should exactly where the Master Emerald was held.

After that, Knuckles became an ally of Robotnik without knowing his true intentions.

Soon after, Sonic came into the picture and Knuckles (working with Robtonik) had to keep Sonic away from the Doctor’s Death Egg. After seeing both the Doctor and the blue hedgehog, a sudden realization hit him. The mural that was on the wall much of been some kind of prophecy, or a prediction! It was the prediction of the blue hedgehog trying to steal the Master Emerald and the Doctor was going to help protect it! As soon as the hedgehog came into view, gold instead of blue, Knuckles quickly glided towards him and hit him hard. The emeralds fell and he quickly grabbed them and began to run. Despite his efforts, Sonic and Tails continued to come seemingly able to pass all the trails and even the Doctor’s plans.

For a short while Knuckles was in the Master Emerald’s room before Sonic and Tails came crashing in and the blue hedgehog and the red echidna began to fight. Knuckles was shocked at the hedgehog’s speed, but he didn’t have enough brawn though to beat him. As the short fight continued, Knuckles noticed that while he was distracted that the Doctor took off taking the Master Emerald with him. Knuckles tried to interfere but received a nasty shock from an electrocution from him.
Knowing what he thought the mural was saying was wrong, Knuckles joined with Sonic after telling them his part of the story and went after Robotnik personally.

But it would turn out that only Sonic would be going up in the Death Egg while Tails flew around the air. He waited patiently as he could and wondered what was exactly happening up there. He hoped that the hedgehog could overcome the Doctor and that he would retrieve the Master Emerald. But he felt bitter, too, since he should have been the one who was to retrieve it. Soon, the Death Egg 2 began to fall down once more, and the hedgehog and the fox returned to the island safely. Sonic handed the Master Emerald back to Knuckles in which he was very pleased. He thanked the blue one for helping him return the Master Emerald to him and the island and also he said he was sorry for him doing the things he did before.

The two adventures left and Knuckles waved goodbye….glad that they were gone. Sure, he didn’t hate them and the hedgehog seemed to already consider him a friend but he personally would have had them gone so that his peacefully life style would once return. And it did.

For a little while.

Soon after, a strange new floating island appeared and though He wouldn’t of normally went exploring leavening the Master Emerald behind, especially after the incident before. But he had a feeling that he needed to go and check it out, so for the first time of his life he left the floating island to explore the other one.

As soon as he got there, he found the stench of a familiar enemy, Dr. Robotnik. It wasn’t hard to figure out exactly what he was going to do and what the island was all about. He began his little hunt of Robotnik and meet up with some usually little misfits. Vector the Crocodile, Epsio the Chameleon, Charmy the Bee, and Might the Armadillo. They were all caught by Robotnik after trying to explore the floating isle, and with these new found friends, he was able to get through Robotnik’s defences and destroyed Robotnik’s Metal Sonic.

Time went by. Despite his own feelings Knuckles got caught up in some kind of adventure and that he would meet up with Dr. Robotnik once again. As Doctor Robotnik unleashed Chaos, the Master Emerald shattered which caused Angel Island to fall once again and forced Knuckles to venture into the world. Thankfully, he could sense the Master Emerald’s shards and found each piece with ease. And as he found more and more pieces he soon started to have strange visions of the past ( though he didn’t know this at the time). Soon, He encountered the doctor and fought with the creature that broke the Master Emerald and he manged to steal a Chaos Emerald that he had found along the way. But, unfortunately, he was also tricked by Robotnik once again making him fight with the blue one to get him to release the emeralds that he had.

Soon after Knuckles found himself on board the Egg Carrier as Robotnik had managed to collect the shards from him. Then he the Chaos creature once more before the Egg Carrier began to go down and he went to the last place to find the remaining shards. Once he put the Master Emerald back together, he went back to Station Square hoping to find Sonic and the others. But what he found was the city half submerged in water and the creature Chaos causing it. He quickly began to look for the others and found them. He watched as Sonic saved the day once more through the use of the emeralds.

A few months passed by since that day and Knuckles found it to be peacefully once more.

That is until a mysterious bat came and stanched the Emerald. He happened to be taking a quick nap and as soon as he woke up found it to be gone. But, the reason why had yet to leave and he soon found himself chasing Rouge the Bat.

He managed to catch up with her in the dessert region where he tried to take it back. This time, though, he found Robotnik had came back into the picture to try and steal his Master Emerald again.

Like it was going to happen twice.

Knuckles quickly jumped into the air and punched the emerald as hard as he could causing it to shatter once more and scatter around the world.

Robotnik didn’t stick around and now Knuckles had to find them all over again, but now with the problem with Rouge at hand.

He searched all over grabbing all the shards he could find but to his own dismay the bat had too. It didn’t take too long for him to catch up and bump in with the others. And as they escaped from the city Knuckles was able to help them in finding the Robotnik’s base and he found that the shards where there too as the team split up to get into the base. Though, it wasn’t going to be easy for him to join with the others due to the fact that a huge ghost known as King Boom Boo had tried to kill him, but thanks to Knuckles’s clever wit, he was able to defeat the ghost and join with the others.

Once catching up he watched as Sonic fought the Egg Golem and they were soon taking off in a space ship to get to the lost colony Ark. On the way they managed to fill Knuckles in, but soon Knuckles sensed something was wrong and found that the shards had been released into the atmosphere. Knuckles took the wheel of the space ship and crashed it into the Ark. Now he was forced to recollect them on the meteor. After he managed to grab some he bumped into the bat girl once more and sensing that she had the rest of the Emerald shards fought her. It ended up being an even battle as there wasn’t going to be a winner anytime soon. But Rouge happened to slip up, and began to fall. Knuckles quickly grabbed her hand and pulled her back up. Rouge proceeded to flirt and Knuckles’s temper showed. Rouge ended giving him back the shards and he restored the Master Emerald back to its former glory. Afterwards he left, saying sorry to Rouge if he had hurt her.

As Knuckles began to catch up with the others, there was a bright flash of light as Sonic appeared before him. He quickly went over to the hedgehog and helped him up. He muttered something about Chaos Control in which Knuckles was curious to ask, but Sonic didn’t bother to explain and asked Knuckles to go and help Tails and Amy while he went to go and destroy the cannon.

Of course while on his way to the room in which Tails, Amy, and Robotnik stood, Sonic caught up with him after he managed to destroy the cannon. But, it wasn’t the end yet. As soon as they got to the room, the found that the Ark was about to collide into the earth told by Rouge and the video of Gerald Robotnik. Both evil and good ended up teaming together to get to the core to stop the crazy collision course towards earth. And it was up to Knuckles this time to do it. The only way to stop the Ark was to stop the Chaos Emeralds and the only way to stop the Chaos Emeralds was the Master Emerald. They managed to get past the security and to the very core of the Ark. As Knuckles and Sonic saw the shrine they began towards it but were stopped by the prototype of the Ultimate life form, the Bio Hazard Lizard. The unexpected happened as Shadow came onto the scene and fought the prototype. Knuckles managed to get to the shrine with Sonic and placed the Master Emerald down, asking for it to stop the Chaos Emeralds. He succeeded, only to find out that the Bio Hazarded Lizard Chaos controlled and became one with the Ark, keeping it on its course. He watched as both Sonic and Shadow went super and warped outside to fight the Hazarded.

Knuckles proceeded back to meet up with the others and watched the battle.

In the end, the Ark and the earth was saved. But Shadow was another story. He seemed to have died while saveing the world and Knuckles, despite him not knowing him well, respected him. And as he gazed out towards the planet, he talked to Rouge, asking if she was going to go after more gems in which she answered that she was going to quit and that she had something more important on her mind to think about.

Soon, they all left the Ark, and for a little while Knuckles respected the Doctor. But once they were back on good ole’ earth, he became an enemy once more.

For two years Knuckles has spent on the Island protecting the Master Emerald, getting a few visits from the blue blur and grudgely waited for Robotnik to come. He even began making preparations for him, training harder and making several dummies to place to make it look as though he was asleep while he would really be wide awake wafting for him to strike. To his surprise, he had yet to stir and it didn’t seem like anything was happening. It was here that he soon found himself being impatient for him to come as he seemed to yearn for a bit of adventure. He was able to slap it out of him though as he waited for anyone to come and try to steal his Master Emerald once more.

TALENTS:

Weaponize: Because of Knuckles super strength, anything can be used as a lethal weapon. [ including his own friends. : ) ]

Digging: Knuckles is an echidna, and echidnas dig. So, it obviously makes him an expert digger.

Treasure Hunter: Knuckles is the protector of the Master Emerald which help him give senses and he just has a knack for finding stuff. Like Jewels. And gold. ( : D)

Gliding: By using his dreadlocks to catch the air, he can ride it.

Weapons:
(Taking out the Power Gloves)

Sunglasses: Not excatly a weapon, but they look prett cool. And they can come in quite handy at times. ;D ( He hides them under his hat, just so you know)

MOVES:
Power Flash: By using the Master Emerald Knuckles creates a blinding light that can blind the enemy for a short while. This attack works with Robots as well, as it also blinds they’re sensors. It’s also effects a three feet radius.

Weakness: If you have a pair of sunglasses on, then it won’t work, along with closing your eyes. Also, Knuckles can be affected by this move if he does not close and or shield his eyes.

Thunder Arrow: Knuckles uses the Master Emerald to create blots of light to hit the enemy. Once hit, the enemy will be stunned.

Weakness: Once he calls out the spell, it targets the spot that the opponent stands in, so if you move a considerable amount of speed, you can dodge it.

Maximum Heat Knuckles Attack: This attack usually only happens when Knuckles goes completely berserk. Basically, he starts gliding and flying around hitting enemies with deadly force very fast (much like Teams Sonic’s Team Blast move, except with Knuckles) and cannot be dodged. (unless you have super sonic speed like a certain blue hedgehog we all know a love).

Weakness: DRAINS A LOT OF ENERGY. After performing this, it would take him AT LEAST 1 full turn to catch his breath and 2 to get his energy back. So, essentially, after he does this he’s vulnerable. This move is only used whenever A: Knuckles gets EXTREMLY angry, or B: It’s a really tight situation.

TRAP:
Rock pit: This isn’t so much of a move, but of a trap. This is when Knuckles simply sees and enemy and decides to trap them. He simply starts digging the ground out from under them, keeping a thin layer on the top. Once he’s finished digging the pit he smashes the thin layer and the person comes tumbling into the pit. This little move can give some nasty bruises to the opponent since solid rock will break they’re fall. ( Also, he can sense when someone is standing on top of the pit if it’s premade.

Weakness: It can be dodged by simply moving out of the area. Also, not only does it damage the opponent but it can damage him as well as the rocks will fall on top of him. If he isn’t careful, he can knock himself out. It also takes 1 to 2 turns to completely dig the pit and by digging it he has to put the dirt in the tunnel he created to get under them. So, thus, he only uses this in certain situations.

Weakness

- He has a short fuse

- The tougher the material, the more engery it takes. So, breaking through rock materal doesn't sap as much engery as breaking steal.

- Despite being cautious, he can still be tricked.
- He has to be close to the Chaos Emerald in order to stop it with the Master Emerald

- Sensitive to bright lights due to living on an island with no electricity

- He cannot use Chaos Control with the Master Emerald
-He cannot jump as high as most furs without using some kind of special technique

- Has no tactical ability outside of the battle field.
-Cannot gain altitude while gliding unless he dives or catches an up drift with his dreadlocks

-Doesn’t like populated areas

- He doesn’t know how to use technology at all
