Those Waking Moments

[Sorry for the lame posts by my standards, a lot of my effort is going into the tourney. Even more so lately as I'm building myself up to kick TF down and out. That's a scalp I'm going to enjoy acquiring.]

As he felt a hand firmly placed upon his shoulder, Metallix's inner instincts - or force of habit, he wasn't sure which - led him to spin his head quickly towards the owner of the hand, with a view to removing it. From the arm it was connected to.

The robot then realised what he was considering... was he too deeply embedded with a killer instinct?
There was little time to dwell on this, as from the hedgehog's hand came a glow, almost akin to some sort of special effects he'd seen humans crudely apply in movies to define a pyromaniac. But something was different about it, and the look in the hedgehog's eyes suggested this wasn't voluntary. Was it the emerald within?

As the hedgehog withdrew his hand, Metallix slowly turned to face him - listening to the proposal put before him. It seemed obvious this kid could use Chaos energies, probably didn't even realise it himself.
"Do You Know What You Suggest You Get Involved With?" the robot asked, watching as the hand came back towards him. "And More Importantly, Do You Realise Who I Am? I Am Not Merely Any Old Robotic Slave, In Fact My Reputation Should Speak For Itself. You Could Consider My Former Personality Public Enemy #1."

Saff's attention was immediately diverted back to the machine as it spoke to him. He crossed his arms as the other sounded off in response. He smirked slightly and stretched his left shoulder as Metal finished with his words.

"Nope... I have absolutely no idea what I'm trying to get myself into.... and I could care less, really."

Crossing his arms, resting them comfortably and confidently across his chest he looks straight at the robed machine without a hint of being unsure of what he was saying.

"Well.. Mr. Public enemy number 1... I'm sure if you were gunna try anything funny you woulda already. Right now the only reputation you have with me is showin up in the middle of the Outland's wearin a rag... that paired with everything you've said tells me ur fightin' and uphill battle.."

He raises his right arm to point it's thumb back at his face, elbow still rested on the other arm.

"... and I happen to be crazy enough to run against stacked odds."

[Metallix]

The response was quick, and to the point.

"If You Want In In This, I Suggest Going Some Place Quiet. If Not, I Suggest Moving And Allowing Me To Journey On Alone."

The eye contact was absent at this point, Metallix's view drifting upwards, towards a rising moon. It was an uncommon but odd sight in a sunset-type sky, and for the first time he saw it in all its glory.

As Metallix's eyes drifted upward, Saff's followed out of curiosity to view the moon, the light dim enough to not mess with his sight of it. In a way it was relaxing.

"Yeah.. someplace quiet sounds good." He was calm, maybe a little mesmerized by the moons relaxing appearance, but didn't look back down at Metal until a few moments after completing his response.

It's funny.. it's like he's given me every chance to back out after saying I'd help.. but he's not shutting out the help either.. I'm along for the ride either way, no way am I backin' out before we even start.

Blinking faintly, the robot turned to the hedgehog.
"Well, Lead The Way Then" he said, his eyes forming a " ^ ^ " to illustrate the fact he wasn't intending to be harsh with his words.
