Huu (Who) Bejenski
Name: Huu ("who") Benjiski
Age: 22 Gender: M Species: Raccoon (I wanted to say "tanooki", but I'm not sure that's a species) Affiliation: None Alignment: Dark Appearance: In his neutral form, Huu is slightly taller than Sonic. He has blue eyes and a devious smile. His primary fur color is a dark brown, and he has the same black markings on his face and chest that you'd expect to see on a raccoon, as well as black stripes running all the way down his tail. His hands and feet are also black, and his arms and legs are long and thin. He doesn't wear anything other than a red bandanna, as well as a pendant that looks like a brown leaf. When Huu transforms, he looks almost exactly like his subject, accessories and all, except that he's a shade darker than his subject is, and he retains his own voice. Personality: Huu is both a thief and a prankster. There's nothing he likes better than to make other people suffer; even when he's not performing a heist, his favorite pastime is ruining the lives of random people. He's just as willing to work with an accomplice than by himself, but there's nothing he hates more than having a heist ruined because of a lousy accomplice. He's also stubborn; once he sets his mind on a goal, you'll have a hard time changing it. Interestingly enough, when he transforms, his personality changes slightly to match his subject's; for example, under Cream's skin, he loosens up and becomes quite friendly. Family: No living relatives. Father in prison, mother dead. Single, doesn't have time to date. Transport: Huu doesn't have a vehicle of his own; if he needs to travel a long distance, he'll swipe someone else's. Weapons: Huu doesn't have his own weapons, and in his neutral form has trouble holding his own. He either improvises with whatever he can get his hands on, or transforms and fights back with someone else's fighting style. Biography: Huu was born into a relatively poor family that lived just outside Radical City. Huu's father often resorted to thievery to acquire the assets necessary to keep the family afloat, as otherwise the bills were unpayable. In fact, Dad was a master thief, as was his father, and his father's father, and so on for several generations. Soon Huu learned the basics of thievery from his father, who then took him along for difficult jobs. Their first heist together was targeted at the city museum, from which they stole an expensive pendant with a jewel shaped like a brown leaf. Huu's dad gifted this pendant to him as a sign of their bond, though he didn't say why he'd chosen this relic in particular. Their life together was fine until Huu was a teenager, when the police finally got a legal warrant for his dad's arrest. When the police stormed the house, Huu's father was arrested and his mother was shot and killed trying to protect him. Huu himself was outside at the time, and the police missed him. Now orphaned and on the lam, Huu fled his former residence and hid in the city. He'd barely been in hiding a week when he ran into a tough thug who demanded that Huu hand over his valuables. They quickly got into a fistfight, during which Huu accidentally activated his Mirror ability for the first time; his pendant let out a faint glow, and he transformed into the thug's likeness. His new, stronger body allowed Huu to take out the confused thug easily. (The reason Huu's pendant had not acted up until that day was because he hadn't decided to wear it until after he lost his parents; until then, he just carried it in his pocket.) Huu astounded himself with the new ability his pendant had given him. Anxious to know just what had happened and how, he checked some newspapers, and found an article about when he and his father had stolen it. The details revealed in the article made his jaw drop: Huu's great-grandfather, Arashi Benjiski, had been a mage as well as a thief, and he had created the pendant to improve his own ability to steal and hide. When the police finally apprehended Arashi, they confiscated the pendant and eventually put it on display at the museum. Throughout the next several days, Huu practiced this new ability, which was a great boon to his stealth. He also came up with a false handle, Jeff Harroway, and attended an acting school to improve his ability to impersonate other people. All this, he knew, would help him live up to the Benjiski family name. As our story begins, he has just fled to Station Square. Moves/Combat: Mirror: This is the ability Huu is known for. He can use a special magic technique provided by his pendant to transform himself into a replica of any person or animal that he chooses; all he has to do is approach and touch his subject's bare skin/fur/feathers/etc., and it's go time. When he transforms, he evaporates into a visible mist for a second or two, giving the illusion of the classic "puff of smoke" effect. As long as he's in a transformed state, he gains a simplified version of his subject's abilities and a basic knowledge of how to use them. If one of the accessories he gains when he transforms is taken from him, it will dissolve when Huu returns to his neutral state. (Fallacy: Huu must transform within seconds of touching his subject, and he can only hold a form for several minutes before it wears off and he has to revert to normal. Also, Huu will be tagged with his subject's weaknesses as well as their strengths when he transforms, and he won't know what he'll get until he's got it.) Skills: General thievery: Huu is moderately skilled with such basic thievery skills as picking basic locks, scaling rough walls, and hot-wiring vehicles. Acting: Huu is a very good actor, and can play almost any persona convincingly. The ability to act is a must when your skill revolves around copying someone else's face, which is why he attended that acting school. Strengths and weaknesses: +Huu's Mirror ability makes him quite versatile +His ability to act makes him great at mimicry +His training as a thief is a great boon to his agility -In his neutral form, Huu is relatively weak -Since he can't gain abilities his subject doesn't have, he can't surprise anyone -He always gets his subject's weaknesses as well as his strengths (I don't know how a Ditto-esque ability will fare here at SA, but I think he'll be very fun to play with if it passes. -SonicLover) |
