RE: Jylat - Starting Over Again
Alindel was no expert in combat being a gentle and caring individual. She was shaking all over even as she saw the first man fall over. Her attention was so focussed on him that she didn't even notice the next man until his foot connected hard with her stomach. It was nearly enough to make her sick but instead she simply lost her grip on the broom and fell to her knees coughing hard.
As the house shook the men in the room stumbled slightly, each lookign at each other as if trying to work out what was going on. Body language was highly useless in the dark environment though and they quickly resumed their previous actions. The first man brought his rifle up to cover his face, the mirror striking the metal and shattering before falling to the floor. The second aimed roughly at Dromar, his aim a little off from the shaking and fired twice. |

RE: Jylat - Starting Over Again
The gunmen that had struck Alindel in the stomach wasted no time. He hauled the butt of his rifle in an attempt to crack her in the back of the head. His partner climbed to his feet, stumbling a few times with his one hand fixed to the side of his helmet. He made aim in case the feline continued to resist.
Dromar roared as another shot hit his left shoulder. Whatever they were firing was nothing he had ever seen before but one thing was for sure. It hurt like a @#$%! The other shot had simply grazed his tail, but he was still in agony from the first one and the potent aim of the second left him huffing on the ground. He closed his eyes and strained to slow his breathing. |

RE: Jylat - Starting Over Again
Alindel fell to the ground with a crack and a thud; the feline groaning quietly as she rolled onto her side. Her vision was blurred and she was no longer able to pick out anything in the room. She gave a small cough but otherwise remained motionless.
The soldiers stood firm, their weapons trained on Dromar as he lay breathing on the ground. "Alright, stay where you are. If you don't resist we won't hurt you." |

RE: Jylat - Starting Over Again
"I have her. Retrieve the fox."
The squad mate who had returned to his feet recently headed over to Jodie. He shouldered his rifle and lifted up her unconscious form. The other soldier kept his gun trained on Alindel for the moment and motioned to one of the soldiers occupied by Dromar. "You have it, right?" "Jodie..." Dromar wheezed. He tried to move only to stall as the pain from the shots surged through him. His head felt like it would explode at any moment from all his heart's harsh pounding. They had her. They were going to take her. And there was nothing he could do. [For some reason, it's easier for me to play these guys out if I imagine that they're stormtroopers. Ah-hahaha.] |

RE: Jylat - Starting Over Again
Alindel gave a small moan as if she was coming round from the crack to the head. Her tail twitched a little but she still didn't move, her face pressed firmly against the carpet.
"Yeah I got it," replied one of the men before fishing into his pocket and pulling out two small bag. He looked round at his squad mates, giving them a quick nod before throwing one of the bags in the direction of the other man. "You see to her, I'll get the dragon." |

RE: Jylat - Starting Over Again
The soldier snagged the bag from the air. After adjusting his helmet, he tucked the bag near Alindel's face and pulled the cord. A small puff of what appeared like dust plumed out from the action. He held it to her nose with his rifle sloppily tucked at her side.
"Okay, ma'am. If you want to live, better take a good huff of this and make it fast. My squad mates aren't the patient type." The other soldier holding Jodie stood by, waiting on the others. "Hurry it up. This job should have been over already." Dromar made a sudden lash out at the soldier who had the bag with his teeth, trying to nab his leg. His body reacted in explicable agony. 'My last chance! I can't let them take her. Matt... Ariel... I know you dog gone loved her. This can't happen!' |

RE: Jylat - Starting Over Again
Alindel was still wheezing a little from the kick to the stomach and had little choice about inhaling some of the dust. She was choking on it before she even heard the soldier's words. "Why are you...*cough*...doing this? What do...*cough*...you want?"
The soldier with the bag barely had enough time to recoil as Dromar snarled at him. He scurried backwards, tripping over a fold in the carpet in the darkness and landing flat on his back. One of the other soldiers around him quickly swung his boot up towards Dromar's head, aiming to strike him hard and hopefully mske him a little more co-operative. |

RE: Jylat - Starting Over Again
While the rattled feline huffed out her questions, the soldier only remained quiet until he decided she had enough of the powder and left her on the floor. He made his way over towards the other two soldiers who were maintaining the komodo dragon.
He was reasonably out of it by then. The boot had cracked him hard in the skull right between the eyes. Not only was he dealing with the potent, shrieking sensation of the laser shots but a reasonably large headache was developing to match the prior pain. Dromar didn't budge. |

RE: Jylat - Starting Over Again
Coughing once more Alindel rose her head and looked back at Dromar. She felt as if this was her fault and wished she hadn't rushed in so rashly. Still she felt defiant, knowing that Links was no doubt kicking these soldiers in downstairs. It seemed to have gone quiet, the feline half expecting Links to barge into the room and save them both and Jodie. Still he didn't arrive...
Edging back towards Dromar and giving him a hard poke with the muzzle of his rifle the soldier decided it was safe enough. He opened the bag he was holding and quickly swung it round into Dromar's face. Whatever way you looked at it he wasn't going to be able to resist breathing some of it in. |

RE: Jylat - Starting Over Again
Dromar gagged on the scent of the putrid smelling powder. It felt like the back of his throat was on fire. He coughed so hard that his whole body shook. By the time he finally stopped, he had passed out.
As the soldier watched the dragon, he shook his head and clicked his tongue. His attention turned to the other soldiers where he waved them on as he started for the door. "We're clean here. Let's move out, boys." The one holding Jodie followed. |
