XBox Live Arcade
Haven't noticed a topic about this so let's get one started then.

Has anybody noticed the huge amount of games available for download? To go with my previous acquisitions of Sonic and Sonic 2, I now have Sonic 3 and Worms 2: Armageddon(I believe it came out a week or two ago exclusively to XLA).

Any other good games out there that I should keep an eye out for?

RE: XBox Live Arcade
=B I would probably enjoy having this if I did, but I'm pretty sure my brother gets this. If he mentions anything noteworthy, I'll reiterate it here.

Recently downloaded Gunstar Heroes - one of the greatest shooting games EVER MADE <3 Comes highly recommended to y'all, and if you happen to get it gimmie your gamertag, so I can play co-op with ya Big Grin

Also in recent downloads, Forza 3 is quite fun to be playing. Bit easy to roll the cars over, but I like it ^^

Oh, that's easy... Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles the arcade game (straight out of 1989), and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time...which is a 3D remake of the original version. Classic beat-em-up action at it's finest!

'Splosion Man was probably the best old school platformer Ive played since the '90's.
Marvel vs Capcom 2 is a good fighting game if you feel like dropping 1200 Microsoft Points.
NFL Arcade and NHL 3 on 3 are great sports games.

If you're looking for genesis games I suggest buying Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection. It's only $30 new and it has pretty much every worthwhile Sega game ever produced (All 3 Sonics, Flicky, Altered Beast, Vector Man, the list goes on and on).

...
Does that require a gold account to co-op?

RE: XBox Live Arcade
Get Shadow Complex. Really. Right now. Go get it!

...what do you mean you want a reason? *sighs* Fine... XP But seriously, it's a great side scrolling shooter similar in style to the old school Metroid and Castlevania games. I thought it was great fun, and would definitely recommend it.

Also, I feel I should mention Braid here as one I would definitely recommend at least considering, or giving the demo a try. It's a "puzzle-platformer," which, actually, is rather descriptive. Take your classic platformer games, like the early Mario titles, and add a puzzle element to it, the central element of which is time. You're given the ability to reverse time, at will, as far back as you want; things are complicated, of course, by the introduction of various elements that behave differently when you reverse time. That said, some of the puzzles can get rather frustrating, to the point you may be tempted to look up solutions online; that should, of course, only be considered as an absolute last resort, since, if you "solved" the puzzle by following a walkthrough, what did you really accomplish? (I'll admit I did this once or twice...which was particularly frustrating because I know, at least once when I did, I had actually already figured out the solution on my own...but it wasn't working because my timing was off.) And... I realize a lot of that might sound negative; it's not really intended that way, though. I'm just trying to stress that some of the puzzles in this game are rather complex, and will really make you think. All that said, if you like puzzle games, and don't mind a bit of a challenge, definitely give this a try, or the demo, at least.

Since this is a Sonic based forum, I feel I should note that Sonic & Knuckles is available (admittedly, though, the only reason I even know this, let alone played it, is because I got it for free by getting absurdly lucky and nabbing a freebie download code from Sega's fan page on Facebook. XD;; ).

Also, though it isn't out yet, and some of the screenshots that have been coming out have me a bit..."concerned" about some of the artistic changes they're making, but..considering what game it is, I'd buy it even if the graphics were identical to what they first were on the N64, because, this game, is JUST THAT AWESOME. I speak, of course, of none other than Perfect Dark", which is supposed to be released sometime early 2010.
