A Gaming Night?

Question A Gaming Night?
A Game Meet Night

I started to think that a cool way to get together would be to group up and play a game. I mean we already play SA but a normal video game of sorts.

I figure it would be a nice way to get SA a bit more social as truthfully find that playing with friends online can be a very fun thing when you get a bunch of friends together, throw in voice chat and then it can really get funny.

Its nice to suggest this but of course its not like all of us do computer games and or computers that can support playing some of the newer games out on the market. So why not we play something, free and doesn't require a good computer?

I was thinking I know awhile back that for the longest time, Links, Leon, and myself used to play PSO for a long while on the Gamecube. I found those times really fun. I know not everyone might be able to or want to but I wanted to see if anyone was interested in playing some old games with Aftermather's?

I've so far found that PSO (A RPG) cause of its age, has become a free download and even has server's to play on for free. We also have games like Starcraft (Real-time strategy) that is so old that you can play on 56k and 10+ year outdated computer and it would still be good. This are also just examples, I'm really up for anything.

So anyone interested?

I have MechWarrior 4 (although I'm not sure if they have servers up for it anymore) and Diablo I and II (although the Diablo series is rated M, so I know there might be some cool kids who wouldn't be allowed to play). I also have Star Craft and PSO Blue Burst.

RE: A Gaming Night?
StarCraft is epic, I'd love to do a game night for that ^^

Don't have PSO though XP

I do, however, have Brawl (though it's online is crap) Guitar Hero 3 (though it's online is only 2-player) and Pokemon Battle Revolution (though it's online is only 2-player and you have to be pretty freaking fanatical to be good at pokemon in general). Sadly none of those have voice chat ><

RE: A Gaming Night?
I was thinking PSO Blue Burst since they are now free download and free servers to play on. I use to have DS but I have given it up and tend to replace it with a DSi some time later in the year.

PSO Blue Burst seems to the way to go and I also have links for everyone on that matter.

Schtserv Download - This is a small private server that I have found myself drifting back to several times over and since PSOBB is now no longer on the SEGA website, they have links up for its install and guides on how to install as well. This place is also where you would register (its free), to play. Schtserv is a multi-platform server, which means you can play with any of the version of PSO... so long as you are willing to go through some setup to get them working. Luckly, they have plenty of guides on how to do that as well.

Starcraft is epic when you get a good group of people together but it is a game that costs $$$. I understand that most likely half of our players (no offense) are not really at the point of having an independent income. Its also ethier you beat down the computer or players themselves. I've beaten down the computer myself cause I understand the AI too well (long term player here) and I felt a co-op game like PSOBB would be better then a game where we are pitted ageist each other. I mean we can play a few rounds ourselves but I want to put something out that we can get everyone into without $$$, granted it is cheap enough these days. You can buy it and its expansion at Walmart for $20 dollars.

RE: A Gaming Night?
=P I'm liking this a lot. I don't have PSOBB anymore but if its downloadable then that's cool. SC too is great, still have that game somewhere.

Would actually be great to get together ith as many people as possible and go thrash some monsters. XD Even better if we could get our own Vent channel...but we may have to do with Sykpe if we wanted voice chat.

RE: A Gaming Night?
Starcraft is so ancient, it wouldn't really put a dent in anyone's wallet. You can get it for probably $10. It came out in 1996 I think it was. And it still works on Vista plus online play is free.

Skype could work too for voice chat. That's the only issue with Wii. No voice chat unless you're on your computer, too, but my internet doesn't like working with both my computer and Wii (plus I hate Wii online play to be honest XD; ).

RE: A Gaming Night?
Wii online is most definately horrible, it is true XP stupid friend codes. The only games I've found that don't lag are Pokemon Battle Revolution (which is turn-based so it doesn't even count) and Guitar Hero 3 (for some reason, I'd have thought it'd lag for sure). So yeah, it fails.

If PSOBB is free I can dig it, though I'd still prefer Starcraft, if only because I know it already. We could have a tourney ^^

(which I would fail because I suck at starcraft TT_TT)

Blah~ You aren't alone in that sense, Blitz. I haven't played Star Craft in eons. I'm not much of one for competition though anyway. I get too hot blooded. XD;
