RE: A Slice of Life
I bit my lip and rubbed the root of my quills that hung over my eyes as I glanced at the floor. Drawing a big breath, I pulled a smile as I returned my stare to her and MTP.
"And it's okay if you were. I just wish you had told me sooner. I mean you're talking to someone whose heard a lot more bizarre stories than most on this planet. And believe me when I say they've heard a lot as is. Besides, any friends who would feel otherwise about this really aren't your friends. "As for moving on, I guess I can relate. I can't exactly go to Little Planet any time of my choosing and if I wanted to live there again that would mean giving up home here in Station Square. Okay, so it's still different though. It's not like you chose to come here like I did. But even though I chose here, why should I forget what I had back there? Yeah, it hurts sometimes. But there were too many good things to just forget. I don't think you have to bury your old life. I think that's more painful. And, besides, then you miss out on happy memories!" |

RE: A Slice of Life
Tifa gave a small sniff and nodded slowly. She slowly rose from her seat and crossed over to the window, gazing out at the streets below. She gave a small sigh and placed her hand against the window frame.
"Good memories...it'll be Mistal soon on Selaquin, I led the opening Arc Dancing ceremony there the year before I was transported here." Tifa gave a small smile, her gaze not fixed on anything as she recounted. "And...Abyss would have been 13 not a week ago. I wonder if he still thinks of me." She turned slightly, stumbling slightly on her injured leg and would have collapsed to the floor if Seraph hadn't darted across the room and wrapped himself around her to hold her up. Tifa recovered slowly, standing back up and thanking Seraph with a smile and a pat. She looked at Amy. "You're right about a lot of things Amy. When we first met I considered you a raving lunatic...but you've become such a good friend. I don't know what else I can say other than sorry, I should have trusted you more." |

RE: A Slice of Life
'"Raving lunatic~"'
I couldn't help but glower at her comment, my head down. I would have been more fortunate if she'd still been paying attention to the outside. I hoped that she wouldn't notice. As fast as my expression had dissolved into distaste though, it ripened into a calm demeanor, albeit a little forced. Tifa's reminiscence helped. It was nice to hear her speaking honestly. I stood. "It's okay now, Tifa. Just from now, can we not keep secrets between us?" |

RE: A Slice of Life
Tifa gave a small nod, seemingly not noticing the look she got from Amy. "No more secrets..." replied Tifa before giving a short sigh and letting a very small smile curl the corners of her mouth, "Well, you've met Seraph...perhaps you would like to meet the others?"
The green dragon twisted its head towards Tifa, its eyes holding a questioning expression, "Are you sure that is sensible Miss Summoner? You are still weak from your injuries and a summoning will take considerable strength. You should rest." "Seraph don't worry, there is no need for a full summoning, we are not in danger and thus there is no reason to use all my strength. Please, I owe it to Amy to show her everything, she has done a lot for me." Seraph remained quiet for a moment, his eyes closed as if thinking. After a moment he opened his eyes, "We are in agreement." At that moment the pendant around Tifa's neck began to glow a pale blue colour. Tifa glanced up at Amy, "This may be a little startling but there is no danger." |

RE: A Slice of Life
Shadow rolled his eyes. This was getting tedius, and he was getting annoyed. Yeah, it was all interesting enough, Amy's friend turning out to be an alien and all, but it's not like aliens were unheard of, and considering the other stuff he'd heard of they were rather mundane. He was quickly growing tired of their banter. He hadn't come to hear Amy's friend hit her with a big reveal, he'd come to find out what had happened to Amy, and these things seemed to him to be totally unrelated.
He was getting so annoyed in fact that red energy began appearing around him (albeit randomly and not often), crackling and flashing brightly. Shadow's eyes widened as he quickly tried to get a hold of his power again, gripping his bare wrist with a snarl. Damn it, I can't afford to be losing control in a place like this, he thought as he tried to calm himself. I need that damn bracelet! If I start losing it just from getting annoyed... damn it! His panic didn't do much for calming himself, however, and the occasional sparks quickly became far more frequent. Shadow grit his teeth, a low growl escaping his throat, unheard under the crackling energy. He glanced at the staircase: it was relatively silent, they weren't talking as much, which meant that the noise would probably be auidible, and the flashes were bright enough that there was no doubt they'd be able to see it in the stairwell. Shadow whirled to look for an exit, accidentally knocking over a nearby vase in the process. It fell to the floor with a crash, scattering shards of pottery, water, and flowers across the floor. Shadow rolled his eyes. "Just keeps getting better and better," he mumbled aloud. Finally, unable to wait any longer, Shadow dissapeared in a flash and a crackle of red and white light, warping back to his place in the alley instantly, cursing himself for being so stupid and hoping to the gods that neither of the building's participants had seen him. RE: A Slice of Life
[It's always a vase. ;D I could see Tifa having them though. Wha~ This may be a bit too many actions.]
I started from my seat as Tifa's amulet glowed. It wasn't like I hadn't heard of ancient artifacts like this before. Tikal was a good example of what the power of the old could do. It was the crackling that threw me off. At first, I thought it was coming from her but as I listened more intently... Crash! I didn't even blink, or at least it felt like I didn't, as I bolted out of the room and down the steps three at a time. Nothing seemed to be in disarray at first. Then, I turned a corner and I caught sight of the shatter remnants of what was most certainly the vase that used to perch on the counter. I wasn't sure how it got there, but accidents happened. Tifa wasn't going to like it either way; at least it wasn't my fault this time. I grabbed the nearby dustpan and began to sweep it up, all the while that crash egging me on. Something I'd forgotten... Oh, what was it...! I stopped in my tracks. The others! They were probably wondering where I had gone to all this time! I quickly shoved the last remaining pieces on the overloaded pan and trashed them. No way was Tifa going to fix this. Standing then, I headed past Tifa and into the guest bedroom I'd been staying at where I quickly changed my shirt. The prior worn one reluctantly met the bin. I grabbed the bag I'd been yearning to get a hold of during the past two weeks I'd been away and stepped back out feeling disheveled and my heart pounding in my throat. I'm pretty sure my sudden change in behavior threw Tifa off completely, but I felt it was urgent enough. "Tifa, sorry, but I have to get going." |

RE: A Slice of Life
[Nah its fine. XD]
Tifa was brought back to reality abruptly as she heard the smash. She made a move to get up but quickly fell back into her seat with a light moan of discomfort. The glow of her amulet faded to nothing and it seemed the summoning had been forgotten. She watched without a word as Amy darted from the room, then darted back through, and finally reappeared wearing a different shirt. "G-go? Go where? What's going on? What was that crash? I upset you didn't I?" stammered Tifa quickly before falling silent. |

RE: A Slice of Life
I managed a sheepish smile and paused despite my legs' persistence to get going. Now I knew how Sonic felt sometimes, that little annoyance of being held up, but I didn't want to just dismiss Tifa's feelings. That was a feeling I, myself, knew too well. Besides, it wasn't like what she was telling me wasn't important. It's just that...
"No, no! Not at all! Oh, and that was a vase. I cleaned it up though I don't know what knocked it down," I insisted. I started towards the door, waving. "Anyway, Tifa, really! I need to go! I promise I'll tell you everything later! There's just something I have to know!" Slam. I winced as the door smacked the threshold hard behind me. It hadn't been my intention to do that at all, but I guess in all my rush me and careful just wasn't going to mix. In my head, I made a silent promise to come back soon so I wouldn't make her weary. At the very least, a call wouldn't hurt. Right now though, I wanted to know why those guys had attacked us and perhaps what everyone else planned to do or not do about it.
