Darios
Name: Darios (DAH-ree-os) (Flick the 'R')

Age: 23

Sex: Male

Species: Arctic Fox (Small bit of Red from father's side.)

Appearance:
Standard Arctic fox phenotype, with a height of 3'1". Medium-weight structure. His facial features are sharp and distinguished. His clothing style opts for darkness and night-time excursions (which highly contrasts his Arctic looks), and is rather plain. His uncut long hair is held back by a lone band, and is likely to stay that way, due to his wonderful sense of not caring for such trivial matters. His actual clothing consists of a light robe and boots; Anything else he deems unnecessary.

<No, still no pic; Kaz and I are still practicing our furries.>

Personality: Darios' harsh attitude and cold, calculating mind reflect what he has become throughout the years. He has no real emotion about him at all, and Darios prides himself on his extreme disregard for life itself; a characteristic common among the crowd Darios hangs with. No death or sacrifice seems unethical to him, as long as the obstacle is removed from his way and his goal a step closer to realization. Darios desires ultimate power, and while his quest has produced nothing, his power hungry nature will not let him stop at any costs. Though heartless and destructive in his ways, Darios has quite the organized and rational mental composure. Everything and anything he does is only for his own benefit. It has been seldom seen where his course of action is for the cause of another. His determination to become a god-like force can be considered maniacal, and it only for the better of society that such a power is not easily obtained through the means of a ragtag villain. Darios' cruel and and inhumane self contrasts greatly to that of his brother; Though the former does not know of the latter's existence, the two will someday meet, and a fight surely ensues; one of evilness versus virtue, dark versus light, brother against brother.

Alignment: Dark

Family: Mother (Missing, presumed deceased.), Father (Deadbeat), Ajiryn (Younger brother, alive and well, unknown to Darios.)

Weapons:
Crescent Devil - An ominous looking and highly evil artifact, now refurbished and sealed to allow actual use of this scythe. Darios obtained it rather easily, as the previous owner had feared the soul sapping aura of the Crescent Devil, and was quick to dump it on anyone willing to take it. The scythe seemingly has a will of its own, and chose Darios because of his unhesitant manner of dispatching his enemies. Originally, the scythe was supposed to drain the life out of any person whole wields it; Through ritual sacrifices and the blood of many, the Crescent Devil is now self-sustaining, but is several stages away from its actual potential. Even still, it saps energy from Darios when in use, but not at any rate that would prove fatal. Darios' deep connection with the Crescent Devil has opened a link of communication with it; the scythe has the power to warp the user's mind to its own bidding, but due to its satisfied relation with Darios, it has not enforced its dominance over his mind. The scythe can clearly understand certain commands and thoughts from Darios. In its inanimate, unopened state, the scythe's communication with Darios is simple. Darios' impulses can only channel energy between the scythe and its surroundings, and change its current form; no other action has proven useful or possible. For convenience, the Crescent Devil is able to materialize between a compact form (disuse) and its actual full sized combative form. The compact form reverts to a black crescent shaped token as wide as a fist. The combat form, from bottom to top, stands at 4'7", and is light enough to allow one-handed use, though this is not optimal for battle nor efficient for any weapon of it's kind.

Weapon Weaknesses:
The Crescent Devil highly dislikes anything of lighter origin. It becomes unstable when near anything threatening to its power and well-being. In this state, Darios struggles to establish a link with it.
The Crescent Devil can very well control, even destroy Darios, though it has yet to show any warnings of doing so due to his satisfactory ownership.
His lack of equipment proves very risky against long range opponents.
It being his only weapon, Darios can be easily taken down if separated from the scythe; Just as it depends on him, so does he concerning it.
Being stripped of the Crescent Devil leaves Darios in a fragile state shortly afterwards, rendering him hardly able to move.

Biography: Darios, 1st son of Iris J. Rosewood and 'Darios' Sr., led quite a normal life during his early years. As a child, he was known for his scholar-like, studious nature and his forever-energetic, quirky personality. At the age of 6, he was taken to the Scholar's Tower as a child prodigy, and was believed to have unspeakable potential when it came to mastering the arts of elemental magic. Darios excelled in his studies, and was quite content with his lifestyle. In a matter of days, he had accidentally discovered his element to be Ice, and only because his foot became strangely frozen to the ground when he fell asleep one day.

He received a letter only 10 months after his departure; Iris had written that a second child was on the way. Darios was too busy with his studies to be concerned, but as time passed, he noticed his teacher often disregarded him in many studies concerning the use and control of the Elements. Darios could never get a straight answer out of Kajimoto as to why he was left out, because the teacher feared the answer would enrage the young pupil. Kajimoto had sensed strong powers in Darios- but also a strong feeling of jealousy and envy. Deciding that his talents weren't exactly being put to use, Darios took a leave to go back home in order to join his family.

Once back home, the following weeks were uneventful and maybe a little pleasant- right up until the point where his brother was born. Oddly named 'Ajiryn', Darios actually took quite a liking to his new brother; He had never before had a chance to be the mentor, and Darios thought there was no better chance than this to start.

It turned out, not all was well with the family; Arguments between Darios Sr. and Iris soon became fights, eventually leading to Iris being struck constantly. She tried to keep everything as smooth as possible, so Darios wouldn't become frightened of his father. But, after continuous weeks of abuse, Iris couldn't hold it in, and finally explained to Darios the possibility of a broken family. Iris proved to be right, and Darios Sr. left shortly after one decisive row with Iris. Darios had barely turned 9.

Still deeply attached to his remaining family, Darios tried his best to keep everything nice and well around home. He often expressed his desire to help Iris whenever possible, and felt sorry for his mother; She had not deserved what happened, but Darios admired the way she held up afterwards. Soon, they forgot about Darios Sr., and the young fox had shifted his attention towards Ajiryn.

A few years passed, a relative happiness- Ajiryn and Darios became an inseparable pair, Iris was a busy as ever, and the family seemed to be doing okay. Darios tried to explain Kajimoto's teachings to Ajiryn, and even though he was confident in his younger brother, Ajiryn couldn't grasp the concept. Darios would spend hours on end trying to teach Ajiryn, and never gave up on his younger sibling. After a few month, Ajiryn had displayed small signs of this power, but not enough to warrant actual use of it.

Darios was, once again, content. All was fine, until Iris collapsed, one day. She had been hiding the fact that she had contracted a deadly sickness, because she did not want her sons to become overly concerned. Darios was. for sometime, at a loss at what to do. Having accumulated a small fortune in his travels, he paid for Iris's medical treatment, but after awhile, financial strains became apparent. The medical facilities of Station Square knew nothing of the disease, and had nothing else to tell Darios except that his mother was not faring out as planned. Slowly, Iris wasted away, and Darios found himself the sole guardian of Ajiryn. Strangely enough, Darios was not informed that Iris had passed, and only found out because of his persistent nature. Try as he did, the facility would not let him see and confirm his mother's death. It seemed as though they were hiding something; an act which puzzled and disturbed him greatly.

Seeking 'compensation' for Iris' painful and slow death, Darios swore he'd find his father and make him pay for breaking apart the family; Strangely enough, Darios forgot about sticking together, and found it more fitting to dump Ajiryn on- you guessed it- Kajimoto. Without a word of explanation, Darios left.

Darios wound up traveling alone, from one city to another, in hopes of bringing judgment to his father. During his stay in Radical City, he came across a wandering, crazed person. Though the conversation was short, it had been the most influential on Darios' future. The vagabond took no time in introducing himself or what his intentions were; As a matter of fact, he seemed horrified and panicked. He gave a small crescent-shaped token to Darios, and sped off, screaming insanities and what-not. Highly mystified by this, Darios could not figure what the token was, much less what it would be used for. Shrugging this off, he departed on his own path.

Late at night, while wandering about, Darios had been caught in an ambush. The seemingly desolate street had concealed a band of thieves, who were planning to mug- and probably kill- this lone fox. After receiving multiple hits and stabs, Darios lay on the ground, dazed, bleeding, and near death. The excruciating pain had only brought out the worst in him; He thought, if only he had the slightest chance, if he could even get up, he'd make everyone pay. His father, Kajimoto, and most importantly, these idiots.

That's when the token intervened. Darios no longer felt the pain, nor did he see clearly. His wounds healed, almost as if they were never there, and the token took the shape of a scythe. He wasn't sure, but he felt that the token bade him his one desire:

"Kill them.", he heard it urge.

Slowly advancing towards the bewildered culprits, Darios flew into a murderous rage- not a single member of the party in question lived after that night. The scythe had awakened a power inside of Darios; a power that even Kajimoto himself had never possessed.

Darios awoke on top of a building, quite unsure of how he got there. Before he could get up, his mind was thrown into a frenzy. His vision became disoriented, and nothing was audible. All he could see was the token.

It- or, at least, he thought- introduced itself. The token was the sealed prison of an entity known as 'Crescent'- one that raged in battle, centuries ago. 'Crescent' was very impressed that Darios did not hold back the previous night, and had sensed the elemental abilities within the fox. 'It' promised him ultimate powers, in exchange for his fate. 'Crescent' knew that it did not have to convince Darios, as he seemed like the perfect candidate. Diving deeper into Darios' mind, 'It' found out he needed no brain-washing at all; In fact, Darios already had the hatred needed to sustain 'Crescent', saving 'it' a lot of work to be done. Darios, without hesitation, pledged his life to the Crescent Devil.

Still weary from his revelation, he headed towards the Scholar's Tower. He forgot that his brother was even there- the only thing on his mind was Kajimoto. Once again, he felt an urge from the Crescent Devil:

"Show him TRUE power.", it said.

Darios hid among the students, and waited for the perfect opportunity to slay Kajimoto. He got his chance, when welcomed news reached his ears: Kajimoto would be performing a chromatic summoning of the elemental powers. Darios knew that this process was a very unstable one. A malevolent smile spread across his muzzle- this was it.

During the performance, Darios knew exactly what to do. The whole concept held on the theory that a balance in the elements would keep the summoning from going astray. Darios used this to his advantage- By off setting the balance with his own elemental ability, chaos would ensue.

And so it did.

Darios felt a sense of smug pride as he watched his former teacher struggling to breathe on the floor. And he couldn't help but not feel sorry when Kajimoto was announced dead. He had done it. He had proven himself as the superior one, single-handedly taken out his master, and ruined the Kajimoto name for years to come. Kajimoto, who was revered as the author of elemental energy theories and mastermind of its use, was now departed because of his own power. The name was now associated with madmen and heretics; no one would ever come to respect the name 'Kajimoto' again, leaving Asuka and Kazuki, his surviving family, labeled outcasts.

For a time after that, Darios marveled at his own power. The Crescent Devil had brought out his fierce, blood-thirsty side, and the cheerful, quirky self was probably lost forever. The fox had eventually become wayward in his path. Followers appeared, and though only a handful, they served him to the best of their abilities. He laughed at those who fell by his hand, each one quicker than the last. He passed on judgment as he saw fit. The human who killed indiscriminately, just for the thrill- met the same fate. The hedgehog who threatened Darios at gun point- not even worth his time. The band of robbers who attacked him in broad daylight- severed quite nicely. The person who had dared to question his name- Darios looked up...

"I am... a GOD!!"

Moves:
Vorpal Crescent - Darios releases the scythe and gathers energy towards it. As it charges, it spins in front of him, creating a circular aura parallel to Darios until it releases the stored up energy in a spiraling blast. The blast's cylindrical shape shoots out straight in the directionthat Darios is facing. Though this attack can be quite powerful, and often sears through most defenses, the charging process takes a few seconds. Even slow, heavy enemies could dodge this attack very easily, as long as they take note of which way Darios is facing.

Elemental Abilities:
Glacier - Just as the name implies, Darios gathers energy in one spot to form a glacier. Though not entirely useful as an attack, it can be used to his advantage. The glacier varies in size- the more energy that is charged, the larger the glacier becomes. A quick one second cast usually results in a 2x2x2 cube, but a thirty second charge can reach proportions of a small building. After awhile, the glacier disappears, leaving no trace of it whatsoever.

Arctic Blast - Ice crystals materialize in a line towards the target, a telltale sign of where the attack is headed. Once the crystals travel to the point of contact, the line disappears, and the head crystal bursts out in a spiked ball-like explosion, usually with a blast radius of 8 feet. Very damaging and just plain powerful, but drains a heck load of energy from Darios. Repeated use is just asking for an early fate.

Combat Style: Darios will stop at nothing in order to continue his quest for power. His will and determination only fuels his desire to use anything at his disposal in order to win a fight. Once the enemy reveals a weakness, he will exploit it as much as he can. He'll often act as though he is struggling, which some opponents see as a chance to strike; When the opponent realizes that this is an act, it is often after they are already caught in Darios' trap.

Strengths: His iron-hard will allows him to pull through the toughest of times unscathed, and his search for power is all he needs as motivation to keep going. Though engrossed in said search for power, he has not forgotten his scholar-like nature; Much of the world's concepts, laws, and knowledge is readily available to him- from his mind, no less. The Crescent Devil only ups his powers even more, and allows him to even conserve energy for bodily functions. Not only does he not require sleep at the rate a normal person does, but is also able to go weeks without eating, and won't even feel effects of an empty stomach. Thanks to the sustaining abilities of the scythe, Darios can take quite a beating, and pain signals are nearly non-existant.

Weaknesses: Darios can be very arrogant, often believing that his powers exceed that of anyone else; Clearly a flaw that can prove life-threatening. He tends resort to force in order to get his way, which has left him in many sticky situations. Darios can become crazed, even maniacal during battles. His power-hungry mind is not easily fooled, but can still be manipulated by promises of supreme rule. His grim actions against others have made him many enemies- even some of the darker affiliations. Due to the scythe's protection against physical impacts, Darios may sometimes become heavily injured, without realizing it.
