Tails' Workshop

Tails' Workshop
Two weeks ago, Tails had returned home from a true forlorn hope against an alien invasion. The whole ordeal had earned its place in the Earth Attacks Hall of Fame, and even the rather adventurous fox kit was happy to make it back to his quaint workshop. He knew the tremendous explosion in the Mystic Ruins had not made it to his home's location, though he expected the tremors and shockwaves to have unsettled things a little bit.

What he found was way more than he had expected. Tails had spent the better part of an hour gaping at the wreck of a workshop he'd come home to. The place was riddled with bullet holes, and the inside looked as if the entire establishment had sat on the epicenter of an earthquake, during which a tornado had passed over and, to top it all off, a brawl had gone down.

It definitely hadn't been the warmest welcome home. At least someone- Mighty, he found out- had left a note of apology, and that small sheet of paper at least lent some closure to just what had happened.

After surveying the damage to his place of invention, the young hero set to work, cleaning debris out of the workshop and reorganizing what was salvageable. It took him two full, tedious weeks to get the place back in order, but in the very least, the fortnight of cleaning kept the fox busy and his mind off the terrific events of the past...

He was glad he still had everyone he truly cared about, in one peace, and he knew he was one of the lucky ones for that fact alone. Two cities, a military base, and an entire gorilla force had received the brunt of the extraterrestrial assault, and many more people an areas were left with the nonviolent shockwaves.

He had just had to rebuild his living room, and when that was done with, he took to recording the event into his own system's database- just in case knowledge would again prove useful in defeating whatever came Earth's way, next.

RE: Tails' Workshop
A trail of dust from the hill below came to an abrupt end a few feet from Tails' doorstop and a blue hedgehog emerged from it looking a little more tired than usual. His pace dropped almost as fast as he could accelerate as the inhuman run became light jog and then a simple walk. Sonic opened the door of the workshop and strolled inside like he lived there, which he might as well have.

"I'm back," Sonic said simply to the fox typing away somewhere among the various things piled around the building's interior. The blue blur found his way to an old green couch, now fully relieved of all former bullets, and plopped down on his back, hands behind his head and eyes closed. "Just like we thought, nothing to see at the lake. No way about it but to wait until Eggman actually makes his move like usual."

Usual... huh. Strange that its been two years since that was usual.

RE: Tails' Workshop
The sudden creak of the door snapped Tails out of his trance at the computer. He hated being caught unawares, but then again, he liked leaving the door unlocked.

Only one person ever burst into the workshop, anyway, and Tails stretched to look over a pile of instruments to see his blue friend walk inside and fall onto the couch. The news he brought wasn't the best, but the young fox flicked his twin tails back and forth regardless.

"Something tells me that Eggman will be making a move very soon," Tails replied, turning back to his monitor and switching to a new window. An online video played the doctor's interview on mute. The orange hero was still reeling from his sudden transformation to a much younger version. "He's going to do something soon. This is going to be an antsy waiting game."

RE: Tails' Workshop
Waiting... bah. Sonic hated that. He'd be much happier running around until Eggman finally did start trouble, but after that grueling match against Shadow and the run back here he needed a breather anyway. It was a compliment to the Ultimate Life-Form that Sonic was really that drained by their brawl, even if he'd technically won.

"Yeah, especially since the world decided to ask him to take them over. Of course it's pretty obvious that he hacked that poll. I guess his ego needs whatever rubbing it can get these days."

Sonic chuckled to himself, still relaxing on the couch as if about to fall asleep at any moment.

"Ow..."

One of the Chaos energy burns on his back started to get agitated by the sofa. 'So much for sleeping through the last of it,' the hedgehog groaned mentally as he swung into a sitting position. 'Guess I'll just have to walk it all off after all.'

RE: Tails' Workshop

Tails, while figuring out what he planned to improve the Tornado from getting hacked into if it ever happened as a possibility, asked. "Are you alright?"

While Tails waited for a response, he returned back to his computer and connected his watch to the computer with a usb port. He also popped in a DVD. He typed in a command into the computer and the hacking profiles from the watch were being downloaded onto the DVD and he would use it as a last resort for the Tornado in case it got hacked into again.

Tails knew this would take awhile to complete and would take up the space of practically the whole DVD. However, when it was done, he would also have to work out the bugs so the hacking profiles would be able to protect the Tornado, while it hacked into the hacker trying to get into the Tornado's mainframe.

He believed the download would take a couple days. When he was through, he sat up from his computer and prepared to walk toward Sonic if he was hurt and maybe even get some ice in a bag to help heal his big brother.

RE: Tails' Workshop

Tails, without a response from Sonic, released the watch from his wrist and let the file loading continue. He walked into his kitchen and started cooking chili dogs, some steamed carrots and fruit salad. He made enough for Sonic and him, but wasn't sure what Sonic would do.

While Tails let the hotdogs boil in water and the chili sizzle, He looked for a movie among his library in his bedroom and got a movie called "The Fox and the Child." He had never actually seen the movie before but thought what's wrong with watching a movie where a girl befriends a fox?

He popped it into a TV with a DVD player already in it and watched the movie while he cooked supper.

RE: Tails' Workshop
"I'll be fine," the blue one said without much worry. He readjusted himself on the couch to be on his side, head supported by his hand. "I ran into Shadow again while I was scoping out Never Lake. He's as short-tempered as ever, or more," Sonic added at the end, recalling the strange revelation at the end of their encounter that the Ultimate Life-Form was unbalanced from the loss of one of his inhibitor rings. "We decided to settle the old score between us, that's all."

RE: Tails' Workshop

Tails loved the fact that Sonic had replied to his question. Yep, that was the Sonic he knew and loved. "Yeah, it must've been quite the expedition."

Tails finished the fruit salad and the steamed carrots, all that was left was the chili dogs. He brought a plate out to Sonic for him and himself to snack on.

Tails asked happily and excitedly. "Do you want to see the new invention I've been working on? It's called a Chaos Emerald Detector. It's on a pocket watch that I keep handy for emergencies and I'm also making sure nothing hacks into our Tornado, but if something does I'll be ready once all of the hacking equipment on the watch gets transferred to the DVD that's loading the files. Once it gets done, we'll go from there."

RE: Tails' Workshop
"Well I can probably guess what it does," the hedgehog answered with a grin as he accepted the plate, staying on his side and letting it rest on the couch cushions with him as he ate off of it.

"Knowing Eggman he's probably found at least one of those during his vacation from me kicking his butt. Hopefully not all of them again," Sonic added after a swallow of his favourite food.

RE: Tails' Workshop

Tails sat down next to Sonic in another chair and shared in the bounty of the food. He brought over the chili dogs once he felt they were done and had watched as Sonic was enjoying his favorite food. Tails was enjoying it to, but seemed more interested in the fruit salad and the vegetables.

Tails replied confidently. "Don't worry Sonic, I don't think he even has one of the chaos emeralds."
