RE: Jylat - Streets
Wow, you'd have thought people who share the same interests could at least be pleasant...
Laurelle sighs as she wishes that people could just treat each other properly, respectfully. Maybe it's because he's a child, goodness knows she's been mistaken for a child on a fair few occasions, and people can be incredibly rude. "Come on then, we'd best head back now. Got something to catch up on there?" She teases Rios, and keeps an even closer watch on him as they head back to the house. It's been a pretty long trip, and the excitement whilst definately good for his mind might have taken its toll on his body. I'll let him get home, read for a while and then do an extra long session, just to be safe. |

RE: Jylat - Streets
[Once again, sorry for the delay. But.. at least no one had to bug me to post this time.. That counts for something.. right..?]
Likewise, Dan seems to be a bit taken aback by the clerk's attitude. It'd been a while since he'd last been in a store like this, and he'd never been in many... but the ones he had seen, the people who worked there usually seem to be some of the biggest geeks out there, knowing seemingly anything and everything about anything in the store, or even related to stuff that might be there, and eager to talk about it. This person, though...? Maybe she was just having a bad day, perhaps...? Either way, Dan wasn't all that concerned with browsing now; Rios had found something he wanted, and they did still have those groceries to get back to the house. And so, he takes a moment to rebalance the weight of the bags he's holding again, then follows along after the others. [Oh, and I just now noticed what you did with the comic. Nice. XD;; I totally missed the reference before, somehow. >>] ![]() ![]() |

RE: Jylat - Streets
Rios rolled his eyes and smirked. Whatever ill thoughts he'd had for the clerk had long since dissipated.
"Hey, don't knock it 'til you read it! I think you'd really like comic books if you picked one up some time, Laury-Man, did it again! Dromar must really be rubbing off on me! Him and his weird nicknames! I hope it doesn't bother you too much. It's his weird way of bonding." He settled into an even stride as they left the shop and started back down the street, taking a glimpse here and there as they passed by the shops almost longingly. Rios hadn't been able to get out much for obvious reasons, so it was a rare treat in itself to be shopping. It was something to do at least. Plus Dan and Laurelle's company always proved to be entertaining. "You know. It's hard to believe I've only known you guys for two weeks. It seems like longer." |

RE: Jylat - Streets
"Uh-huh!" Laurelle smiles at him, happy to see him doing so well, both mentally and physically after the ordeal.
To be honest she'd not really been out that much either and the bright colours and shop window displays are attractive, so she's trying to watch everything at once. Keeping at least one eye on Rios, however. "When we get back, I want you to go do some stretches. Make sure nothing's overtired down there, alright? But I'd say you could do them whilst you're sat getting into that there book of yours. I'll just take a bit longer later to stretch it all through. Sound like a deal?" |

RE: Jylat - Streets
Nearby...Nail too was striding down the street. He'd been somewhat anxious to come here considering he knew of this great ski village near his old hometown of Gerrant...it was called Boulevard City, and it had some of the greatest snow for skiing on the planet. Nail thought Jylat might remind him of that.
Jylat was beautiful from a picturesque standpoint. It reminded him of quaint little Old World villages, especially ones in post cards. However, he didn't see much of anything that made him want to stop and look closer. It was like Boulevard City without the skiing...which meant there wasn't much to do. But as his eyes wandered away from another antique shop's windows, he spied a few familiar faces. First Jav, now this? Maybe Jylat had become a sort of refugee town for those who lived in Capitol City? Anyway, he felt like he'd treated these guys like they weren't there back in Capitol, so he figured he owed it to them to make it up with this meeting. The fox let out a loud whistle and waved his arm to grab their attention. |

RE: Jylat - Streets
[I'll get it underway. Dan, feel free to post and jump back in whenever you wish.
P.S. Rios never met Nail, I do not believe.] Rios looked behind him as he heard someone whistle. At first, he thought it was someone he knew. Gail? But no-- he was much bulkier with tangled black hair. Still, the resemblance was uncanny. He waved sheepishly, looking at Dan and then Laurelle from the corner of his eye. Maybe they knew him? |

RE: Jylat - Streets
"Oh, my goodness! Nail!" Laurelle squeaks in delight, speeding up to head over to the fox. "Who'd've thought we'd see you again?"
Seeing the confusion in Rios' eyes, she introduces Nail to him, and vice versa, remembering to explain that he's Jodie's brother. The resemblance, after all, isn't marked. "So, Nail, what's going on with you? We're just doing a bit of shopping, staying with friends of his family, focussing on recovering really. How're you holding up?" |

RE: Jylat - Streets
Nail looked at Rios for a second. That was unexpected. Thank god Canma didn't know about that or she might involuntarily gag upon seeing Jodie. True, she wanted to drop the whole racist thing against humans, but you can't just easily let go of something that's been hard coded into you for over a decade. Anyway, he smiled and said, "Hi Rios," before turning to respond to Laurelle.
"My family is safe...they were out of town when Capitol City was destroyed. So they live in Station Square now. As for me...I just completed a mission...a strange one involving Jav and...some pirates. I dunno. Anyway I've always wanted to see Jylat but never got the chance until now. That's why I'm here." He didn't bother to mention what he thought of it yet. Was afraid it might spoil the mood of the conversation when he said he didn't like the place. They'd have to ask him first to hear his opinion. |
