RE: The Shady Outskirts
"You do look....shocking...I'll say that." He lightly smiled. "But unlike some friends of mine, I don't think that's a good reason to kill you. I've seen my fair share of hybrids... Of course, some are way more attractive, but there are worse too. And it's not like the job I'm offering is to be my...secretary." Sly chuckled some at the last remark.
"No...it's going to be much uglier than that, and quite frankly I don't think anybody will care what you look like for this kind of work...as long as you stay unseen. I'm thinking assassinations, theft, blackmail...those sorts of things. And from what I can tell you're pretty good at taking care of yourself, so you wouldn't have to worry about working with anybody who might be repulsed by you. Does this sound good so far?" |

RE: The Shady Outskirts
Denalik sneered within his hood, not that Sly could see it very well. "Yes, I do believe I am interested. As I said, I do need money, and those kinds of jobs happen to be my specialty." He slowly moved to replace his knife within his overcoat, but paused suddenly. "Mind you, though, if you cross me or tell anyone what I am without my permission... I will hunt you, and I will kill you. That's a promise." With that said, Denalik replaced his kunai.
"Alright, so you have my interest. I really don't care about wages, as long as I have them. All that's left for me to ask is, when do I start?" |

RE: The Shady Outskirts
To be honest, I'm more scared of F4 hunting me and killing me if I told anyone what you are without your permission. And that's more than enough to keep me in line, even without your threat.
He smiled, and said "Deal," to Den's first condition. "But in return, you need to accept one of my conditions. Officially, we do not know each other. If anyone asks about me, you don't know me. In return, I don't tell anyone I know about you. This partnership is only known by me, and you. Sound all right?" Sly put his knives back in return, to Den putting his away...and started stroking his chin. He was pondering what sort of work he needed done right now, that would be suitable for this guy. But at the moment he couldn't think of any. "And you can begin as soon as I find an ideal starter job for you. We'll need a way to contact each other in the future, when the time comes. I'm presuming you don't have a phone number or address?" |

RE: The Shady Outskirts
"No, I'm afraid I don't have a cell phone or an address," Denalik said, shaking his head slightly. He unscrewed the cap on his bottle of ChaoCola and took a swig."I suppose that does pose a bit of a problem," he said, wiping his mouth with the back of his sleeve. "Do you have any other ideas?"

RE: The Shady Outskirts
Sly stroked his chin. He looked slightly irritated by this problem.
I don't get it. We live in the 21st century. Why do so many people still randomly wander around and eschew modern conveniences? Is it some sort of survivalist fad? He was tempted to sigh but he thought that might look...well...disrespectful. Anyway, he thought of one thing... "Well...do you at least know how to use email? Maybe you could get yourself an email address and we could communicate through a cybercafe or something." |

RE: The Shady Outskirts
"Yes, I know how to use email," Denalik said, taking another swig from his bottle. "I can probably get a cell phone too, once I get some money, but email will have to do for now. I already have an email address, I just haven't used it in years." The hybrid told Sly his email. "That's assuming it hasn't been deleted for inactivity, of course, but if it has I'll just remake it with the same name. So, will this work for you?"

RE: The Shady Outskirts
"It will, for now. This is my email address..." Sly passed his on...choosing a regular email account he used from a free service. "We haven't been properly introduced yet. You can call me Sly. What's your name?"

RE: The Shady Outskirts
"I'm Denalik," he said with a shallow, almost mocking bow. "A pleasure to make your acquaintance." He stood up again. "I'll try to get myself a cell phone in the near future. I'll email you the number if I do."

"Good," Sly said, smiling. "Then I'll be in touch. I suppose I'll be meeting you later. I should have something lined up for you pretty soon."

RE: The Shady Outskirts
((Too lazy to sign in as Sly right now))
As Sly turned to leave, he blinked. Actually, something had just come to mind. And it would be an excellent test of his talents as a ninja. He turned back around to face Den. "Actually...I just realized...there is something I'd like done right away, if you're interested. It's a kidnappning. Sound interesting so far?" |
