Life as normal?

RE: Life as normal?
As much as I wanted to just leave in a huff, I knew there were more important things at hand. Still, my glare remained as I stared down Tifa, 'Seraph', and the back at the canine. The last time I'd been this angry was two weeks ago when I had escaped Sarath's ship with the others. So I had a temper. But this was a reasonable action to someone lying to you the past couple years, right?

"This had better be good."

My tone carried reluctance. I couldn't hide it. No matter how good of a friend she was to me, I truly felt upset by the turn of events that transpired in mere seconds. Suddenly, I felt like I had never really known Tifa. It wasn't a great feeling. Far from it.

RE: Life as normal?
[ (note: I never got to post him leaveing...But let's say he did and picked up his hat.)]

---
“Meeeeooowwww~”
Decoe stared at the cat with dull eyes. Once again, he was lying on the ground. Why? Because trying to climb a wooden fence was impossible.

Which meant he was trapped for the moment.

And now here was the same cat as the last time, looking at him with sweet and innocent eyes, like he wasn’t doing anything wrong. Of course, he wasn’t, but he seemed to like pestering him. He sighed, grabbing the cat as gently as gently as he could and placed him at his side before standing up. Now what was he going to do? He couldn’t climb the fence to get back to Bocoe…(who would probably already think that he was in trouble) and he couldn’t try to go around it due to the fact that he was near a busy street….and he couldn’t afford to get into anymore trouble.

As he stared into space thinking of a logical answer, he couldn’t help but be distracted by a low, purring sound. He looked down slowly to see the cat, walking back and forth against Decoe’s leg. He stared at it in with curiosity, as though they both had something in common. He sighed again. Yes, they did. Both of them seemed to want to be around people, and neither did they have a home…

Wait a minute….

It didn’t take long for Decoe to remember something. Of course he had a home, Ark! Space Colony Ark! Maybe if he’d ask, he could find a way to get back up there and see the Professor!

He walked quickly back over to the broken window (the cat following close behind) and looked inside, placing his hand on the window sill. He moved the bandages from over his mouth and removing hi s hat before speaking in hopes of having a better impression.

“Hey, miss!!” He called out, with excited tone.

RE: Life as normal?
Tifa could tell that Amy was upset, to be honest she didn't blame her in the slightest. Still it wasn't easy for her either, she may have thought about telling Amy in due course, the hedgehog had always been a good friend since they had first met, yet the time had never been right and Tifa had still been unsure about everything.

She motioned with her hand towards the stairs, "Come upstairs and I'll tell you the full tale...and why I haven't before. Seraph could you go on ahead and ask Martin to prepare some warm water?"

The dragon spirit gave a short bow of its head, flipped over backwards and headed out of the room. Tifa was about to follow when Decoe poked his head back through the window causing Tifa to give a long drawn out sigh. There was too much on her plate all at once. She turned to look at the window, "Yes?"

RE: Life as normal?
I started up the stairs slowly, pausing to look back at Tifa as a new voice piped up. Standing at the window was a peculiar looking human. Friend of Tifa's? I guessed not, considering her response. Although I felt sort of nosy, I backtracked to the heavier note at hand. My mind remained blurry as a flurry from a snowstorm. On top of that, I knew the others were waiting for me back there. But this sudden rift couldn't just go unchecked, could it? I found myself frustrated, second-guessing, and unsure as I took to the steps again, two at a time.

"Tifa, do you mind if I use your phone?"

Might as well get one thing straightened out while I waited.

“I’m sorry to be a bother, but I just wanted to ask how I can get back to Ark?”

He looked stared at her waiting for an answer. In fact, he looked excited for one. The only problem was, he would be expecting a good one. He didn’t know that there was only a bad answer to the question.

RE: Life as normal?
"Phone? Sure Amy," replied Tifa with a sigh as she glanced up the stairs, "right at the top of the stairs, on the table with the vase."

The canine looked back at Decoe, raising an eyebrow at his question. At first she didn't understand his question, Tifa having to take a moment to think about his question. When she finally figured it out she frowned, rose an eyebrow and starred at him in bemusement. "Ark? As in that space colony? I haven't a clue, I'd imagine you'd need to take some sort of space ship. Wait a minute, you're from the Ark? No don't answer that...uuuuuuh! Why are things so complicated? Listen, I can't help you with that and I've got a major friendship issue going on here. Sorry but...you'll have to excuse me."

Tifa turned away, closing her eyes tight as she turned towards the stairs and began to climb them one at a time.

Meanwhile Seraph had already vanished upstairs and had passed on Tifa's message before settlinghimself down on a large patterned cushion in the middle of the room in front of the fire. He coiled himself up, his head flopping over his body as his wings hung down his sides. Martin meanwhile was busy filling a bowl with warm water in the kitchen.

RE: Life as normal?
I found the phone as it had been a few months back. Come to think of it, I noticed that nothing had really changed at Tifa's. It wasn't a bad thing, necessarily. If it weren't for the newest shocking revelation, I probably would have almost felt like I'd come home. I didn't pay attention to the voices below as I picked up the phone and dialed up the emergency line. Truthfully, I didn't feel very good about not explaining my reason for calling, but Tifa seemed busy and it wasn't like I was going to wait two years to explain to her what was up. Okay, so I was bitter.

A few rings and...

Click

"SSPD. What is your state of emergency?"

I paused just to think. It was true that I never dialed up the police before. I actually had to reference a note on the side next to the phone to get their number. Taking a breath, I collected my thoughts and relayed the information to them quietly.

"Yes, it's a few blocks from the hair salon. Uh huh. On the right. There should be a few others there. ...Oh? Uh, a hedgehog, turtle, and dog. Jack, Tutley, and Cutter, respectively. Oh! And Cutter has two kids. And this is Amy. Amy Rose. ...Oh, yeah. Eh heh. That's me. Yeah. Well, did you get all that? Okay then. Thanks."

I replaced the phone and sighed.

RE: Life as normal?

He was slightly….confused. He blinked in bewilderment as he turned around and put his back to the outside wall. He placed his right hand to his mouth, his figure laid above his upper lip, his thumb laid right at the bottom jaw bone (if he was human) and the rest of his fingers stayed below the chin slightly coiled.

What was complicated? He didn’t see how it was complicated. Was she talking about how to get onto ark? It didn’t sound like that though….

He began to slid down to a sitting position as he continued to stare out in space. As he did, the cat sat down as well, looking with a curious, wide-eyed expression at him.

‘I guess I’ll wait then…’, he thought to himself as he tried to solve Tifa’s words.

RE: Life as normal?
Tifa arrived at the top of the stairs just as Amy finished her call, glancing over at the hedgehog with a down cast expression. "Come on through, I'll tell you what I haven't." Tifa straightened her glance and walked into the next room.

Martin was sitting in a chair at one side, a bowl of warm water on his knee. He waved as Tifa and Amy walked in, yet he recoiled slightly at the sight of Amy...not just because of the blood that stained her clothing but also because of the angry expression she was wearing.

Tifa gave him a small nod as she sat down in a chair next to him and motioned for Amy to take another seat. She cast a glance at the resting dragon on a cushion by the fireplace and then looked back towards Amy, "Where would you like me to start?"

RE: Life as normal?
Noticing Martin's reaction, I relaxed my scowl. Although he'd never open up to me about much of anything, I knew him well enough to remember how darned skittish he could be. I murmured something along the lines of 'It's okay' towards him as I took a seat. My eyes trailed slowly over to the dragon as I followed Tifa's gaze and I blatantly pointed to it.

"Well, you can start with that thing-'Seraph'?"

Just where the heck could she have found something like that? I mean this world sure could be full of surprises what with chao, a god of destruction running rampant among other things. But this? It was new to even me. Little flying snake. Dragon. Thing. Whatever.
