The secrete beneath...

RE: The secrete beneath...
((No good reason. I just got overconfident and didn't think things through.))

Olive's attention was on Jav now. Division Seagull's was split; half of them was looking at Jav, while the other half looked at Olive and Nail. Olive didn't yet try to pick up her cutlass, nor did she let go of her wounded arm.

"I could ask ye the same thing," she interjected. "Ye were the first to draw yer weapon, weren't ye landlubber? All we're here for is treasure!"

((Because of a little confusion, I've tried to come up with a map of the area. Does this look accurate?))

((Say... looking at this map, I might have something going for me here...))

RE: The secrete beneath...
((That's accurate, I think.))

As he continued to point his pistol at Olive, Nail twisted a small dial on the side of the gun. He'd just changed to the three-shot burst mode. Still, he decided to let Jav do the talking, because he didn't know anything on what these two were talking about. Nail was only being paid to be Jav's guardian right now, and he didn't care much what happened so long as he accomplished that mission.

RE: The secrete beneath...
"yea...well that treasure isnt yours for the taking. Im inclined to believe that those talismans are the keys to a possible future apocalypse"
James said keeping his weapons trained on Olive and her men.

RE: The secrete beneath...
Olive bent down and put both hands on the hilt of her cutlass. What Jav had just said bore a resemblance to what that old coot had told her while they were approaching the lake.

"Apocalypse, schmapocalypse. All I know is if we collect those pieces o' jewelry, we'll either be the richest or the- AARGH!- or the most powerful flock of sailors on the seven seas, or maybe both, and that's all we care about. Understand, redhead?"

Partway through her sentence, Olive had tried to pick up her cutlass, but the pain in her wounded arm had caused her to scream (hence the "aargh!") and drop it again. The yell caused all of her crew to turn and look in her direction, but a few of them immediately turned to look at Jav again.

((I've updated the map, and will probably continue to as events progress. Sorry, I'm a bit obsessive-compulsive.))

RE: The secrete beneath...
While Jav continued to interrogate Olive, Nail was pondering how they were going to get out of this situation. Sure, Jav and Nail had the upper hand right now, but this couldn't last forever. Sooner or later, this standoff was going to end. And Nail wanted to make sure it was him and Jav that did it.

Off to the side, Nail shouted, "Jav...if you want to have an extended conversation, may I suggest we take her someplace away from the rest of her crew?"

"ya know what Nail...it doesnt really matter to me anymore who she is. I've got them right where I want them. Maybe I should just shoot them all and be done with them. I could end this war right here, right now before it even gets started." James said tightening his fingers around the triggers of his weapons.

"But I'm not a murderer..so..I'm gonna give you an option here Beak-freak. You can end your pursuit of the talismans and walk away with your lives tonight..or..you can make you're last stand here on this beach...and die. I leave the choice to you...life or death?"

RE: The secrete beneath...
((If it's not too much to ask, I would like it if Olive got out of this alive...))

The captain breathed in and out as she pondered Jav's question. She turned her back on Jav for a moment. Giving up her search for the talismans wasn't an appealing choice, but neither was a one-way ticket to the afterlife. Eventually she made her decision.

"So be it," she declared without turning back to face Jav. "As much as I hate to give up on booty, we'll call off the search." A hint of frustration was visible in her voice.

Her crew blinked. It wasn't like Captain Olive to give up on treasure so easily... maybe she was planning something.

RE: The secrete beneath...
((Oh, of course. We're not allowed to kill your character unless you specifically say it's okay.))

"Then, I propose we do this, since we have the upper hand," Nail said. "The captain will accompany us up the beach a fair distance. Then we'll let her go, and me and Jav will go our own way. I would let the captain go right here but I bet you pirates would just rush us as soon as she's safe and sound again.

"But to make it fairer for the other side, we'll keep your group in sight when we do it. That way you will know we have kept our word. Sound all right?"

RE: The secrete beneath...
(( lol, I wasnt gonna XD))

"hmm...yea...alright. Here's the deal then, we're gonna take a little walk down the beach. Your men will retreat back whereever you came from. When we get a safe distance we'll cut you loose and high tail it" James said calmly.

RE: The secrete beneath...
In the meantime, Captain Olive had somehow gotten her cutlass back into its sheath.

"Aye, I suppose I can live with that."

Her men agreed to it, too. They began to retreat, but after a distance, one of them withdrew a pair of binoculars and carefully watched what was going on with the Captain.
