The secrete beneath...

James smiled as he followed Olive with his pistol in one hand and his rifle trained on her minions in the other covering Nail while he engages Olive hand to hand. "kick her a** Nail, I got ya covered" he exclaimed.

[Captain Olive]

The Captain kept her composure unusually well as she saw Nail's approach. (She didn't care about Jav for the moment.)

When Nail approached with his kick, Olive performed a sideways roll just in time to avoid the kick, then began to get to her feet, planting her cutlass in the ground for support. As she did, she watched Nail like a hawk in case he tried a follow-up attack.

[Nail Strafer]

Nail stood where he was, planning his next move. There was some distance between them, so now he had more of an edge than he did before.

Nail didn't really raise his pistol but not pointing it away from Olive anyway. But then suddenly, he shouted, "Now! Shoot her, Jav!"

[Jav]

James popped off a round aiming for Olives right thigh to disable her. "dont you move a muscle...I'll send you to h*ll with the next shot."

"Nail..watch those other guys will ya my arms gettin tired holding this rifle"

[Captain Olive]

((Ugh! I should've known better than to take my opponent's advice.))

Jav probably would've had a better chance at hurting Captain Olive had Nail come up with a more subtle way to tell him to fire. As it was, she had a perfect forewarning of the impending round, and she quickly turned her attention to Jav as he squeezed the trigger.

Olive wasn't quite to her feet when it happened, so she opted for another strategy. At the same moment that Jav's bullet left its chamber, she flapped her wings and quickly lifted herself a few feet off the ground, leaving her cutlass where it was for the time being. The bullet missed her by inches.

However, Nail screamed at Jav to fire for a different reason beyond the obvious.

It wasn't because he hoped Jav would hit her. Far from it. Because Olive was eyeing Nail so intently, Nail knew that if he just shot at her first, she'd merely dodge his bullets since she was ready for an attack from his direction. The scream to Jav was meant to get her to stop paying attention to Nail for a second, so Nail could shoot her when she was focusing on Jav.

And that's exactly what he did. As soon as Olive started looking at Jav, Nail took a second to aim. As Olive took to the air, he squeezed off two shots, aiming ahead to take into account her movement. Sure, Jav's shot had missed, but it was a nice setup for her to get hit by his shots.

((Er... Nail? We might want to rethink this. We've already established what happened after Olive looked in Jav's direction, and that "disabling shot to the left shoulder" might end up preventing some of it. Snake, you can't do that!))

[You did take three actions in that post though. One was looking towards Jav, the next was dodging his shot, and the third was attacking me. You're only allowed two actions in one post while you're in a battle. So I guess we can just forget about the last one.]

((That's barely relevant! That gunshot was between my first and second actions, so my second action's still in danger.))
