The hour was late which was evident by an angry orange sun hanging low in the sky, nightfall was fast approaching. Through the twilight ambience against a backdrop of trees cast in shadow a pair of headlights shined brilliantly illuminating a hidden roadway nestled within the darkened landscape. Upon closer inspection the lights were from none other than a yellow 73' Javelin owned by a James W. Lancaster.

"well...we're here" James announced to his half asleep occupants as he pulled through the entrance of one of the many campgrounds that surrounded the lake. The stopped at a toll booth with a grumpy old beaver standing inside."welcome to campground 8 that'll be 1.25 rings for parking" he stated blandly. James quickly dug 1.25 out of his pocket and handed it over. "thank you and have a great stay" the beaver said as he pushed a button raising the road barrier to allow Jav to pass through. Jav slowly pulled away from the booth an entered a massive campground full of RV's, campers, tents, you name it it was there.

"*whistle* looks like a lot of folks are out on a weekend getaway today.." James said.

Danny's eyes danced around takin in all the different campers here "there's..so many of them.." he added.

"yeah...you aint kiddin" Carrie added thirdly as she stood up in the back seat to see out of the back windows.


Jav parked his car towards the back of the campground where there weren't many campers far away from prying eyes. "alrighty...now what?" he said getting out.

Nail arrived shortly thereafter...keeping an eye out for Jav and his car. With what had happened the last time he'd ridden in it, how could he forget about a car like that? In any case, it didn't take long to spot the old-fashioned muscle car amongst the crowds. So far the person who made that note was telling the truth.

He pulled into a parking spot next to the Jav and walked over to him. Looked like there were two raccoons with him, but he didn't pay them much attention. He was more interested in whether or not Jav knew anything about why he'd been summoned here.

"Jav...wasn't it? Remember me? Nail? The guy who's little sister we saved? Anyway...I got this weird note...I was wondering if you could make any sense of it..."

He handed Jav the note.

James was, to say the least, shocked at seeing Nail just casually stroll up to him from seemingly nowhere. "B..But..wha?" James stuttered hopelessly lost in confusion as Nail placed a note in his hand. James lifted the note to his face and his eyes began scanning the page. As he read his eyes widened and his mouth slowly fell open "this..." he shook his head in astonishment "how?...I picked this campground at random...this is creepy...first grandma, now this...hmm..." he said leaning back against his car..."too weird".

"James...are you okay?" Danny and carrie asked in unison pulling on his shirt.

Nail smiled a bit at the two adorable raccoon kids with him. But only for a moment. He was on a mission, and when on a mission he liked to keep things strictly on business. So he turned back to Jav and spoke again. "Grandma? What about your Grandma? And what exactly are we doing here? All I know is that I'm supposed to protect you, but what are you needing protection from?"

[Jav]

James smiled down at the two raccoons.."yeah lil guys Im alright...just a little confused about all of this" he said. He turned to Nail with a very serious expression "this is a very strange and frightening set of circumstances. Earlier today I was approached by a woman in white. She used some sort of magic to show me the future or...what I think is the future. It was dark Nail..real dark. I saw what looked like a post apocalyptic Earth. Our cities in ruins, the sun blotted out by dark clouds, our peoples enslaved.I dont know how something like that could happen but she said it's what will happen if I lose. I have to gather some sacred objects to keep them out of someone else's hands..the only trouble is...I dont know where to start...she said once I got to this lake..fate would guide me so I dunno" James said crossing his arms and looking down to his feet in contemplation.

Danny and Carrie looked on in shock.
"the world's gonna end?" Carrie asked a ting of fear in her voice.
James looked down at Carrie and smiled "Not if I have anything to say about it." he responded.

"right...so...um..who is this?" said Danny gesturing Nail. "this is Nail...I dont really know much about him actually we only met briefly two weeks ago" Jav responded.

"Nail...I find this a little too much to be a practical joke or a coincidence...The old woman, the vision, the letter you got. I think this might be for real man" he quickly added.

"For real?" Nail narrowed his eyes at those words. "I can't help but wonder if there's even more to it than what you've already mentioned... I was definitely paid in real money to help you out....but I can't help but feel like we're pawns in a giant chess game. Like there's something really nasty going on and we're helping it without knowing about it. I mean...what would be stopping that old lady from just making up some vision on the spot instead of showing you the future?"

Nail was actually more afraid this was some kind of operation meant to capture him...considering he was a fugitive from both the government and F4 right now. That soldier had seen his face...and Joseph would have probably told all of F4 by this point that he and Canma had fled and drained F4's bank accounts. However, he didn't share any of this with Jav. Less people that knew about that stuff, the better.

"To be perfectly honest with ya...given the choice between this being some sort of trap and what I saw in that vision...it would come as a relief if this was just a trap. The things I saw...were just beyond terrible and beyond words. I have that same feeling that we're being played like chess peices somehow, like something sinister is at work behind the scenes here." Jav said swallowing hard. Danny and Carrie huddled close to James as if they were concerned something might jump out at them at any moment. They were frightened by what was being said. James looked down at them and smiled. He crouched down, took them into his arms, and pulled them into an embrace inadvertantly putting himself at eye level with Nail. " Hey..listen to me. I am not going to let this happen okay guys..so dont even sweat it. Nothin's gonna happen to you, nothin's gonna happen to me, and nothin's gonna happen to Nail...I wont let it." he reassured them. "ya believe me dont ya?" he asked receiving silent nods from both of them. Something very strange certainly happened to Jav when he was around these kids. A gentler Jav came out from under the immature, arrogant, and over confident person he usually was.

He turned his attention back to Nail "the old woman said that fate woul..." he stopped mid sentence as his eyes grew wide his attention suddenly grabbed by something behind Nail in the background. It was a sailboat prepairing to set sail "Fate" plastered across the side of it. Appearantly this was it's name. "Fate..will guide you" he said softly.

Nail just rolled his eyes at the sight. "Yeah...sure...whatever. It's got to just be a coincidence...or..." Nail glanced around them. "Maybe somebody has some sort of surveillance on us. In that case, maybe we should watch what we say from now on. Someone could be listening in."

He looked down at the two child raccoons. "Jav...why did you bring these two with you? What do you plan to do with them when we're going off to deal with whatever it is that's after you? It's not like we can take them with us... It wouldn't be safe."
