Challenge! 100 Good Things About Sonic
Let's face it.
Sonic gets a lot of bad wrap. From IGN to Giant Bomb. Even the fans themselves. I'll admit to it, personally. But what about the good things that Sonic has to offer? In all the haste to groan and moan about one new game after another, why do we still remain true to the Blue to this day? Thus, I challenge you. Yes, you. To a brand new 100 challenge! Name 100 good things about Sonic.
Now, it doesn't have to be overtly complicated. It can be as simple as "I love how he's a hedgehog!" or "The music in the games rocks!". But do not feel like you have to generalize just to the series. Maybe Sonic has had a personal effect on you? Maybe he's the one who brought you and your friends together? Maybe he's the one who pulled you through hard times. But it doesn't even have to be about Sonic himself necessarily. Tails, Knuckles, Shadow, even Robotnik. How have these characters, these games affected your life so much that you return to this forum and participate in the fandom, despite your complaints? The rules to the challenge are simple. Post the number next to your thought in accordance with the order. One addition per post. Ex: Johnny posts: #1: Sonic's super fast! Cindy posts: #2: Amy is my role model 'cause she's really pretty and strong! Got it? Then, get going! |

RE: Challenge! 100 Good Things About Sonic
#1: Sonic is the essence of what I wish I could be. Yes, I know that sounds terribly cheesy, but it's true. Sonic is completely and truly free, unrestricted by anything or anyone and capable of doing anything he wants to. This is probably more true for Shadow than for Sonic, since Shadow tends to not let things like morals get in his way, but there's something endearing about the fact that Sonic can do anything but he chooses to do the right thing, sticking with his friends (however annoying we find them) and helping out average joes in need. That's the way I wish I could be, totally free to do anything I could ever want and still being the good guy.

RE: Challenge! 100 Good Things About Sonic
#2 Sonic represents the harsh cruelties of being goat flogged by gimmick games. On the flip side of the token, he's an icon that has managed to survive, even with the failing of/going third party action of Sega. If a video games series can survive consoles no longer mentioned and clunk game after cluck game, that's quite comforting to me, because that means that one of the classics still has a foot in the door- Even if it's being repeatedly slammed upon by the iron door that is the mismanaged Sonic Team.

#4 -No matter how you came into the series or what you prefer best of it, there's always a character for everyone-.
No matter if it's from a TV Cartoon, to comics and the games there's always something for somebodie's taste. |
