RE: Business as Usual
[If I'm stepping on toes or other plans then let me know, otherwise, I thought it might be nice if maybe I toss you guys something to actually DO around here.]
Just as Vector and Espio are coming down the stairs, a human dressed in a well pressed suit and trench coat was walking up the stairs. After seeing the pair in the stairs above him, the man stopped and smiled. "Ah, you'd be the Chaotix am I right? If I'm not interrupting anything else, I have a rather important contract I'd like to speak with you about." |

RE: Business as Usual
[It's Supposed to be vec's turn, but ill step in; Ah...back to learning Espio's character.]
As he reached the bottom of the stairs, Espio left off the ceiling onto the floor smoothly. Standing up, he replied to the mysterious person. "THe chaotix? Who wants to know?", he asked. However, the chamealons tone of voice changed just a little, showing some interest at the mention of a contract. "Well now Vector...let's hear him out." He just mentally kicked himself in the brain, for letting his collegues name slip. Espio, master ninja extrodinare at your service. I also play the hyperactive time agent turtle. |

RE: Business as Usual
"You know we're on a tight schedule, Espio!" the croc grunted in response. He did not have any remorse for giving away his colleague's name, incidentally. What he did have was some exaggeration in his statement. Vector always did like to talk big. He looked over at the man, file that he'd been reading now closed and at his side having finished it on the way down. "Sorry buddy, but the agency's not open for business just yet and we've already got a lot of offers. You'll have to send us your request by mail. Here's out card."
Vector held out a Chaotix business card with their address and contact information with his left hand. Now he'd find out just how "important" this contract really was to the man. |

RE: Business as Usual
The man didn't appear too phased by Vector's refusal, rather he actually looked bemused. "Oh, well I'm sorry to hear that. I guess I'll have just have to find another some other, more experienced private detective agency willing to take on a job worth 500 000 rings." Very deliberately the man had set that one up, playing on Vector's ego and baiting him in with a very large sum of money. He graciously took Vector's card and started to turn around to leave; but not too fast.

RE: Business as Usual
Espio raised a brow at the proposed amount for the job. It roughly tied with the amount from their previous mission. He of corse would be willing to hear more. Instead of talking though, he leaned against a wall, already knowing Vector's awnser. Deciding that he need not say more than was needed he closed his eyes, merely blending in with wall so to speak.

RE: Business as Usual
The man almost got clean away while Vector was busy trying to get the dollar signs out of his eyes. Quickly enough though the crocodile's right glove was resting on man's left shoulder with the detective at his side and both facing back down the stairs.
"Well now I must admit you've touched my caring side," he said in an easily-seen-through misstatement of fact. "After all, trying to find anyone as experienced as us is going to take you forever. Why don't you give us a few details and we'll see if we can make some time for you?" |

RE: Business as Usual
The man smiled as Vector placed his hand on his shoulder and regarded him. "Not, here. Perhaps some place more private, your office maybe?"

RE: Business as Usual
The chameleon gave a slight smirk as Vector rushed past him. Vector always lit up at the idea of a well paying job. He smiled at the new client, and stepped past the pair. He gave a bow to the client, and moved his hands to the elevator. "Very well, right this way sir.", he said as he called for the elevator.

RE: Business as Usual
Soon enough they were back in the yet-to-be-opened office with vector seated behind his desk and the would-be client in the chair before it. Espio was... wherever he wanted to be, really.
"All right then, why don't you start by introducing yourself" he began. Their agency had been burned before by his love of money passing over a few important details... like who the client was. |

RE: Business as Usual
"My name is Corporal Walters. I'm with the GUN Office of Military Intelligence. The man calling himself Walters reached into a brief case beside his chair and pulled out a file folder and tossed it on Vector's desk. We want you to find this man, or fur. Whichever you prefer." Inside, Vector would find a picture and a short dossier about a fox/wolf hybrid named Augustine 'Nail' Strafer. It also detailed information about him being identified as the individual responsible for the assassination of a high-ranking GUN official years ago. And that he also is a known member of the F4 terrorism group. It also listed his preferred weaponry, among a number of other things. The last note at the bottom indicated his current whereabouts as UNKNOWN.
