RE: Living in the City
Jacks pride was hurt more then his body. And really, after seeing the weird stuff he did on a regular basis, it was clear that it took a lot to even damage that. In other words, Jack would be fine. After rocking around a bit on his back, the hedgehog finally just took Amys hand. He weighed considerably less in this state, which made getting him to his feet an almost comically effortless task. Brushing himself off, Jack gave a smirk and a brief "Thanks." to Amy to show he was okay before deflating entirely back to his normal size. He tapped a fist against his stomach a few times with a somewhat nauseous look as this process finished. Spinning around like that in the state Jack was in could get anyone a little queasy.
This subsided, though, as Jack looked around and saw the group. He smiled softly to them. "Is this not the most coincidental meeting ever?" Jack said, his excitement returning. "How are all of you? It's been weeks." "Mommy, who are these people?" "These are... some people I met through work." "You mean their solders; like you?" "Well...." Jack would have said something to help explain but even he wasn't sure of how to put it. He gave Cutter a look, as if to say he wanted to help, but no words really formed. He put a hand behind his head awkwardly... Which just made it easier to find that piece of glass that still stuck in one of his spines, jutting out the side like a poorly hammered nail. A few tugs later, and the makeshift weapon popped out. It was studied by the hedgehog for a moment. After all, this was what he felt hitting him in the head, which threw him off balanced. Then, and only then did he notice the laughter going from across the street. Jack looked over his shoulder and called off to the assailant. "Hey! Is there a pr-" By then, of course, Tutley had already fired a harmer assisted hadouken at the kid, so Jack could do little more then give a very odd stare. "Um... That works, too. Thanks, Tut." |

RE: Living in the City
Tutley's projectile blasted a hole clean through the nose of the clown pictured on the billboard. Huu had dropped to the ground in his laughing fit, so he wasn't struck directly, but he was showered in billboard debris. His laughing quickly turned to coughing as some of the dust got into his windpipe.
Huu stood up and peered through the hole the ball of light had just created, hoping to spot whoever had attacked him that way. A few more coughs still escaped his lungs. |

RE: Living in the City
After pulling Jack to his feet, I looked back at the kids and then to Cutter. It didn't take her words to slowly put two and two together, but they helped no less. I gawked, first at her, to the kids, and then back at her. Comprehension would have to settle quickly though as the boy pattered closer, looking up at me and the others with just as much puzzlement as I did, him.
"Mommy, who are these people?" "These are... some people I met through work." "You mean their solders; like you?" "Well...." "Ex-soldier. I am, at least. But don't get the wrong idea. That's doesn't mean I'm still not on the job for kicking some Eggman butt!" I couldn't help but wink mischievously. That response was quickly overclouded by Tutley's sudden attack on a billboard. Did he have issues with its maker or something? That's when I heard the laughing from earlier turn to coughing. Just what in the world was going on? Whatever it was, I sidestepped in front of the young pup. My bracelets glowed, the old Piko Piko Hammer shimmering into my hands. Whoever that was, I wouldn't let them have a chance at hurting these kids. "Show yourself!" What a frustrating day. Only two weeks gone by and I was already back on the job. And I still hadn't finished off that check! |

RE: Living in the City
"COOOOL!!!" Josh exclaimed as Tutley fired the ball of light into the billboard and putting a whole the size of a grapefruit in it.
"Uh, guys, just ignore him, whoever that is. He's not worth the trouble." I said in exasperation. The last thing I wanted was a fight to break out; especially with my children involved. Personally, I wouldn't mind tearing a strip off whoever thought it was so funny tossing glass around at random people. But as a responsible, and protective, mother I had to keep a level head under the circumstances. Besides I had better things to do, like speaking with my friends, then picking fights. |

RE: Living in the City
((Alrighty, one small step for-))
It seemed to be a rather 'normal' day, as normal a day could get with the news and stuffs going on as of recent.... Well, almost. Walking down the street was something that was usually enjoyable at night, seeing as the day was commonly bustling and busy. Most people wouldn't take notice such a display as the group of misfits that were screwing around. Though, Del wasn't most people. "What in the hell is...? Crazy people these days." He through to himself. Though, instead of passing by, he couldn't help but stare at the squabbling group. Specifically the astro bag-boy of a Turtle and the rubber-faced.... pilot? Who knew. |

RE: Living in the City
(Brainfreeze... >.< )
Tutley blinked twice and groaned as the billboard failed to fall over on the attacker like he desired and sighed, but soon after the turtle was now the one cracking up in laughter after hearing the assilant coughing under a pile of rubble. After a good five seconds of overly hearty laughter, he spun his hammer around twice in his right hand, pointing it towards the bilboard with a mischivous grin before holstering it as a warning to the rouge. He put his right hand on Amy's hammer, gently pushing on it downwards and shakeing his head. "Eh, shes right. That kid isn't worth the time, and likely not much of a challenge.", he said with a shrug. "However if our visitor tries act 2 of that little stunt...", he said takeing his hand off the hammer. "I say we let em have it." "And by the way...", he said looking at Cutter's child. "Try....to avoid blasting holes in billboards like me...", he said scratching his head with his other hand. Everyone's favorite hyperactive turtle from the future! Current Shield Set: Blast, Fire, Water, Lightning, Light |

RE: Living in the City
((Eh, okay.))
Huu gritted his teeth. He had no intentions of letting that turtle get away with the last hit. But how would he pay him back? As he pondered the situation, he felt a fly land on his ear. He was about to shoo it away when he realized he'd just been provided with the perfect response. This is so brilliant I'm going blind. Let's see if I can pull this off... After the fly left, Huu ducked behind what remained of the billboard and triggered his Mirror ability, transforming into a fly himself. After taking a moment to get used to his new form (it would have taken much longer for a normal person, but remember, Huu's been doing this for years), he buzzed downwards to the crowd, circled around Amy, Jack, and Delrin a few times, then perched on Tutley's head. How on Earth does this guy fit such a big head into such a small shell? ((Was that too much for one post?)) |

RE: Living in the City
I almost glared at Tutley when he touched my hammer. While I'd forgiven him for the past incident, it made me uncomfortable to even think he'd grab it again. It was an heirloom from my parents, after all, and he'd wanted it for some sort of credit. Heck if I knew what. I was too busy getting more and more red in the face before I had really let him have it. I relaxed as he let go though, feeling just a slight bit sheepish. Both in the statement he made and what thoughts had just passed through my head seconds ago.
I eyed the billboard for a while, but quiet settled in above us and I finally just shrugged my shoulders. My hammer dissipated in a flash of light and I walked over to retrieve the bags I'd dropped in the process of the sudden reunion and anti-climatic attack shortly afterward. I wondered what some thug wanted with a group of people who clearly outnumbered him in the middle of the day. I mean you'd have to have some pretty good tricks up your sleeve. Either that or just be plain stupid. My attention finally turned to the others and I gave a friendly smile, one that touched my eyes as I looked at the kids. I still couldn't believe that Cutter was a mom. She was the last person, actually. Well, never to me. Sure, I'd gone on and on about Sonic and me getting married. Kids on the other hand? I wasn't so sure. I knew I could be pretty irresponsible. But they were so adorable! "So, what brings you here?" |

RE: Living in the City
I could see Amy's look of amazement by seeing me and my children. I'd seen the expression too many times before not to pick it up nowadays. "I know, who'd ever believe I was married, let alone had kids eh?" I said with a smile that just glowed with maternal pride.
Quote:"So, what brings you here?" "oh... Just taking my son Josh here out to get him a new bike for his birthday. My husbands' at work right now, but Josh has graciously agreed to wait till daddy gets home so he can show him how good he can ride, right Josh?" I explained, giving special emphasis to make waiting for his father sound like Josh's idea and not mine. Josh, Sara, I'd like you to meet my friend, Amy Rose. You remember? The one from all those news videos? And they are Tutley, and Jack. They all helped me some time ago." I smiled as I saw the astonished looks of both my children. Even Sara, who'd been clinging closely to me this entire time seemed to become more interested in these people. "I thought Amy Rose always wore red?" Josh spoke out quite offhandedly. "Josh, don't be rude or I'll give you a swat on your k-9 keester." I warned. "You look prettier then all on all those videos." I couldn't believe Sara had actually spoken, quiet as it may have been. I think she'd meant to say it only loud enough for me to hear, but Amy would have had no trouble hearing it. She was so shy around strangers. And what she'd said was absolutely adorable. |
