RE: Living in the City
Jack gave a nod to Shadows answer.

"Well, then. Welcome aboard... um. Shadow. Right?

Jack took a few steps around the roof, pacing as he started to go over the plan with the others. Mostly to Shadow, who had specifically asked.

"The deer said that, before all this stuff started happening, he left his friend at the airport. An old bobcat in overalls. The deer said his name was Mack. There's no guarantee that he'll be there, or that he'll even be safe to talk to if we do find him. But it's our only lead, so I guess the airport might be the best place to start looking." Jack stopped and glanced back at the others before continuing. "I don't know about you guys, but I'm ready to get off this roof, anyway." Jack smiled softly and took in a quick breath to expand himself back up to floating size. He was planning to float back down to the street below so they could get the hell out of there.

...The look on the hedgehogs face when he realized that the injury on his stomach would need just a little more time to heal before he could expand like that again was priceless. He, of course, quickly shrank back to his normal size and fell to his knees, arms around his stomach. His wounds, thankfully, were healed up well enough not to be reopened so easily, but it didn't change the fact that, until they were treated further, Jacks trademark trick couldn't be used painlessly.

"S-So...." Jack stammered with a sheepish grin on his face, trying to save face as his midsection screamed in pain. "How do you... non... flying types get around in this city?"

"Alright, then, then it seems were set.", he said giving a nod. "Only issue is that he didn't mention exactly WHICH airport Mack would be at. Since he wasn't referring to this one, and since Capitol is a smoking crater in the ground, that leaves Radical. He did say though that he may have left for here, so it may be good idea to also look at this airport first for him...", he said scratching his beak. He gave a nod to Jack, continueing on. "And I agree...let's get off this blasted ro-", he said, cutting himself off as Jack rapidly uninflated. The turtle would reach behind himself and tap a certain compartment of his backpack. The chao, which was busy tinkering with the turtle's handheld would let out a exclaimtion mark with it's antenna, and pop out the backpack holding a first aid kit. "I'll see if I can get you patched up in a few Jack.", Tutley said accepting the kit in his left hand as he held out a hand for Jack with his other one.

"Now.. me, Shadow, and possibly Amy can travel on "foot", but it would be more convient, and attract less attention to just rent a car.", he suggested, giving a shrug. "I'm sure I can get clearance to pay for it on the TA buisness account fund if I explain everything to my higher up." He did twitch a little at the idea of that. That flicky was quite miserly...

RE: Living in the City
"That's not funny, Jack. Are you alright?" I left the kitten to the cracker and stepped within arm's reach of Jack. Leaning over, I offered a hand to him. His injury from before had rattled me. He looked better than before, of course. But still...

Quote:"Now.. me, Shadow, and possibly Amy can travel on "foot"..."

"'Possibly?' What do you mean? Of course I'm coming along!"

I frowned and almost stuck my tongue out. Old habits were hard to let go and I had just barely held fast. Tutley no doubt had some handy abilities, but sometimes he could really annoy me. I didn't want us fighting though, so I stuck to Jack. I was more concerned about him. I didn't want him overexerting himself, after all.

"So, what about you, Shadow?"

"'Possibly?' What do you mean? Of course I'm coming along!"

Shadow smirked slightly. "Amy... I don't think he meant you were "possibly" coming along, I think he meant you could "possibly" get around fast enough on foot." He shook his head and a more serious look returned to his face. "But I agree with the turtle." He still didn't know his name, and didn't care to ask just then. "Running would be faster than a car, for me anyway, but I'd still rather lay low for now. A car would be much more convinient, preferably with tinted windows."

RE: Living in the City
"Okay, okay. Sorry." Jack said in response to Amy's scolding, holding up his hands. Clearly, his way of making light of his agony rubbed the others the wrong way. With both her and Tutley offering a hand to help him up, he put a hand in each of theirs and got to work on hoisting himself to his feet. Already he missed not having a gaping wound on his stomach. He took being able to move around easily for granted.

"Anyway, Tut. If you think you can get me back into the air, I'll owe you one."

"That said"
He continued "I guess renting a car works, if you guys think you can handle it. I couldn't even afford cab fare, let alone a car..."

RE: Living in the City
I was pretty sure my cheeks flushed as pink as my fur. I released my grip on Jack as he settled back on his feet and stood there, pondering a moment. The kitten was still nibbling on the chip last I checked. I wondered why it had gone through all the trouble up the roof for some old snacks I wouldn't dare to eat myself at that point. I didn't really have the kind of money to be renting a car either. Now that I had just ate up all my spare cash clothes shopping. But hey, it's not like I had been expecting to run into everyone like this let alone deal with a mystery deer who had just tried to kill me. Why were we helping him again?

I thought over what the other had to say... Well, Tutley had mentioned funding from some type of business account. What kind? Well, I wasn't really sure.

"Tutley, maybe we would be better off to go with your idea. I guess it'll be a pain for you, but..."

Jack would only be furthering the damage done on him otherwise and it seemed like the only way Shadow would work with us anyway. And we needed all the help we could get.

[For pirate lord's sake.... SORRY! X_X ]

The turtle would give a nod to his chao companion who immediatly dove into his backpack, pulling out the turtle's most prized possesion, his laptop. It would appear to be a rather... high end model to say the least, which indeed it was seeing as how it actually had the processing power of a supercomputer. The top was a aqua blue, a sliver logo of Little Planet printed on the center. For its slightly bulky size, it was also rather light, the chao having no problem holding it in midair. He would accept the laptop and pull a small headet from a storage compartment on the black bottom of the computer, affixing it to the side of his head. Sticking his tounge out as he adjusted it, he would hold up his index finger on his right hand. "Alright... one moment...", he said taking a few steps away from the group. Taking a seat on the floor facing the others, he would boot it up and soon enough, he would hear a feminine mechanized voice in his headset.

"Welcome to G.U.N.'s time agent network. How may I help you today, Tutley?" , the computerized voice would ask, a fox representation of itself strolling onto his screen amidst the various menus that were displayed. "Erm... patch me through to Tesla ....erm... CAPTAIN Tesla...", he would say, dropping his head slighly as he scratched the back of it, hoping she wasn't listening already.

RE: Living in the City
[I know that you guys were considering doing a mini-skip, but I'm gonna go ahead and strike up a conversation anyway. I would have brought it up eventually, but we're already waiting so I figured I might as well now. At least this way we've got something to do while we wait on Tutley.]

Shadow watched as Tutley pulled out his computer and stepped away, then turned away from the group and took a few steps away himself, just enough to enter the shadow of the taller adjoining building (which he had moments before been standing on) as a news chopper passed by a relatively close distance away, probably leaving the scene the black hedgehog had caused earlier. "So, all we can do now is wait on the turtle, huh?" he said, turning back to the group and leaning against the wall and crossing his arms (as he tended to do). "While we're waiting, I have a question. You guys are worrying a lot about the deer that attacked you, but isn't there something else you should be a bit more worried about? Whether the deer was brainwashed or not, it's unlikely he acted alone. If he's lying then he's an assasin, which means unless you did something to him personally, he's working for someone. If he's not than someone wanted you out of the way so much they went to the trouble of brainwashing him to do it. Amy, do you have any idea who could want you out of the way? Did you step on the wrong toes in the military? Piss off the Doctor lately? Any old personal enemies we should be on the lookout for? Cause the way I see it, the deer is a puppet and someone is pulling the strings here, and this won't be over and you won't be safe until they're out of the way."

RE: Living in the City
"Personal enemies..."

I bit my lip and thought hard. The deer we had run into wasn't anyone I had seen before, so it was weird for him to have gone after me in the first place. But why would anyone be after me anyway? Given, Robotnik had always tended to enjoy using me as bait for Sonic, but even he had not been up to anything that had required me to butt heads with him like in years past. GUN had been GUN and nothing more and as for anyone else...

I shook my head with a raised brow.

"I can't think of anything I could have done to get on someone's bad side. Unless it was one of Sarath's goons. But as far as I heard from Slick and the others, they were still on the lookout for him. He was hit pretty hard, after all."

I bit my lip harder. All of this was unnerving to think about.

RE: Living in the City
[[This post sucks. Sorry.]

Jack raised an eyebrow and looked between the two hedgehogs. "Old enemies? Doctor? What have you two been doing before I met you?" Jack really had no clue about the history of his friends and allies.

"Either way, by the sounds of it, the only way we'll find out whose behind this is to either wait for them to regroup and find us again, or follow the lead we have."
