[If he was flung out of a window in the dining room, he would have to be on the south or west sides of the house. So, if he wanted to enter through the front door as quickly as possible, he'd be approaching the front door from the south. Meanwhile, Nail is facing east. He would not be able to see that soldier approaching, meaning the soldier would not be able to see his eyes.

Although I do suppose the net result of this is that he'll just walk in the front door, turn to the right, and see Nail anyway... So I may just roll with the mistake because of that XD What do you want to do Chadin?]

[Sorry folks, away from the computer. In any event, yes, you are correct about the whole window thing, and yes, in lue of the window I should have just had him walk through the door. If you like I can rewrite the post or we can roll with it, your call.]

Nail ducked down as the window shattered from the shots.

Yep...that's what I thought. There is someone out there.

Then he heard the footsteps trooping down the hallway towards him, and decided now would be a good time to get out of this room. So he sprinted back towards the kitchen, pushing the door aside with one hand as he ran back inside it.

He planned to exit through the kitchen's back door. From there...well...if he could make it to some foliage, he should be able to escape.

Esmeralda could only convulse miserably under the strength of the fine powder. She was stuck without any means of escaping. It scorched her nostrils and she found herself slowly drifting out of consciousness from both the pain and undoubtedly its effect.

Inside the kitchen, the soldiers quickly lifted Links off the floor and beat a hasty exit. Simultaneously while another removed the bodies of their dead teammates and retrieved their weapons, the last of the men stayed behind to finish administering that strange powder into the last few civilians in the room; namely Rios and Laurelle.

He pulls the bush baby off Rios and tosses her aside, brandishing his weapon at her while warning her not to make any sudden moves. He sprays Rios with the powder and just turns around to deal with Laurelle, brandishing another bag of the stuff, just for her. There is no other soldiers left in the room now. If ever there was a chance to avoid being forced to inhale that powder or mount a heroic rescue, now would be the time.

The soldiers pursuing Nail burst into the room to find no one present. The man from outside, stepped in from the outside door and quickly relayed what happened, the three soldiers than started making their way towards the only place Nail could have escaped, the kitchen, effectively forcing Nail back into the dinning area once again.

[Chadin...shouldn't that be the DINING ROOM they're collecting the rest of the good guys from? Oh yeah, and don't forget about the kitchen's back door. Nail doesn't have to go back to the dining area.]

Nail rushed into the kitchen...not seeing anybody ahead of him... It was a clear path to the back door. But he didn't know if he was being chased or not. He switched to jogging backwards, pointing his gun at the open living room door. He saw the flashlights waving around in the room...definitely following him. So he didn't waste any time jerking the back door open and stepping outside.
