Biding Time

RE: Biding Time
Lefina stood silent for a moment, pondering on how to phrase the question without sounding provocative or rude. She bit her lip slightly as she looked back at the tigress. When she spoke it was in a quiet tone, trying to keep her voice low enough to avoid anyone listening in.

"I was just wondering about something...after the incident earlier I mean. That tigress really is your sister yet you hold such anger towards her. I can't understand what would make you resent each other so much, I hate to see family torn apart. If you don't mind my asking...what happened between you and her?"

RE: Biding Time
[About time, I suppose. XD;; She's hard to stay in character with sometimes. She's so weird.]

Tallulah continued to massage her swollen ankle a moment longer. The swelling had gone down in the past hour, but it was still apparent that she'd probably have to stay off that foot for as much as she could manage. She peered up at the wolf standing next to her now.

"I never thought you would be someone to nose into the calamities of my life. Celes and I..."

She frowned and shook her head suddenly; closing her eyes, she sucked into a long, slow breath before releasing it in just as much of a controlled manner. Tallulah repeated this three more times before she finally opened her eyes again. The wear remained, but her whiskers no longer seemed to bristle with her shrunken pupils.

"Nothing good ever came between the two of us. She and I were... very different. And sometimes that seems to be all it takes. I wasn't anticipating another meeting with her. But do not worry. This is rather fortunate for her and in fair exchange. For as much as she has put me through, I like to believe this to even perhaps be a lighter punishment in return. She won't die. Her mind will just simply waste away."

RE: Biding Time
This was a new side of Tallulah Lefina had not seen before. Her disgust was easy to see, the edges of her mouth turning and her her eyes narrowing slightly as she leaned back an inch. She could tell that there was an immense amount of anger in Tallulah, yet until now she had always considered her to be a fairly sensible and kind person.

Lefina didn't approve of harm for the sake of it, her patience short for the more sadistic members of the crew. In a strange way she found Sarath's cruel justice more tolerable to prolonged suffering.

"W-waste away?" she said without even realising it, "That's...no one deserves that! I..." She fell silent, looking at Tallulah with a slightly horrified look on her face.

RE: Biding Time
[Ah, @#$%. I forgot to post here completely.]

"I don't expect you to approve of this or even understand, Lefina. At this point though, it simply is how it is. She would have the same done to me were it possible, I'm certain. One way or the other."

Tallulah stood from her seated position. Her tail flexed back and forth behind her. Her hands were fastened together at her waist.

"Now then. I do believe everyone is stable. I'm sure Tarisa will inform me if anyone worsens, so I will take a brief retirement I do believe unless the Lord has need for my presence to be elsewhere."

RE: Biding Time
Lefina stood silent for a moment, stunned but also appauled at what she had just heard. She had always considered Tallulah a caring individual even if she did have a temper at times...but this? She shook her head at the tigress, a very faint glare forming on her face for a moment before she turned and walked away from her. She kept her head high and her walk was almost a march as she headed from the room.

She maintained this for a moment and then stopped, coming to a halt in the corridor and leaning back against the bulkhead. She shook her head violently and took a deep breath. Things were not going well on board, it wasn't just this...even Sarath seemed tense, highly strung and touchy. He had been through numerous hard situations before now but this time it was different, it was like something had snapped...and to allow this to go on between Tallulah and her sister...

She stood up, heading off down the corridor with a new purpose.
