ice storm.

I just wanted to post this just is case what the weather folks are saying is right. It appears my area might be visited by old man winter sometime in the early morning tomorrow and it could get rather nasty. We here in the mississipii river valley, generally speaking, do not get huge snow storms every year anymore (global warming...we haz it.) we get ICE STORMS!*thunder/lightning* Basically it falls as rain but freezes upon contact with the ground or really anything that's been outside for very long which results in a lot of ice in a very short amount of time. The news is predicting a day or two of this mess which by my estimate will leave us with a nice THICK layer of ice on everything.

This has happened many times before the worst being in 99 when it did this and our power was off for a week. This has folks spooked because we're in a VERY rural area which means our power would be the last to be restored because lets face it nobody cares about us tree folk out in the sticks T_T;;. What we've had happen in the past, on top of the fact that the county has neglected to trim our trees away from the power lines this year, has me spooked as well. So I'm going to say I could possibly be away for a while IF the ice storm comes and IF my power gets knocked out which if the ice storm comes it's almost a sure bet the power will be knocked out because ice storms and power outtages go hand in hand around these parts.
