Best Super Sonic Boss Theme
What's your favourite theme song to kick butt as Super Sonic to? Some samples are below, so give each a fair full listen through again before you answer.
Unfortunately I could only make 10 poll options max and even excluding the battle themes for Super Shadow and Darkspine Sonic there still weren't enough to fit all the themes from the Advance series in it, so I decided to exclude those all together. If one of those is your favourite then I apologize. Sonic 3 & Knuckles: The Doomsday Zone What else is there to say? The original Super Sonic boss battle theme, The Doomsday Zone music embodies the tension of the moment: Players' first experience desperately hoping to snag another set of rings before the boss knocks them away for the last time. Sonic Adventure: Open Your Heart A song describing the chaos(Pun not intended) and destruction wrought throughout the entire game up to this moment, and Super Sonic's intention to not let it stop him from going all the way to victory. Sonic Adventure: Perfect CHAOS Revival Open Your Heart ends and this tune begins as Perfect Chaos rises up after its apparent defeat for another round, this time firing three times as many obstacles at you. Not as intense a song as the one that was playing just before it, but with a more dominant sense of hopelessness. Sonic Adventure 2: Live and Learn Another battle in the space, this time with no rings in sight. Live and Learn plays as Super Sonic and Super Shadow take turns trying to maintain their power and stop the ARK from crashing. It urges you to help us all live to see tomorrow but doesn't make the danger at hand out to be any less imposing than it is. Sonic Heroes: What I'm Made Of Team Super Sonic's last battle against Metal Overlord has the vocals of this tune playing along with the music itself. The song represents the power and the rivalry of Sonic and his robot double and the climax it is heading towards. Sonic the Hedgehog: Solaris Phase 2 To paraphrase Helldragon of Youtube: "Sonic the Hedgehog for XBox 360 and PS3 may have sucked but you have to admit: It has a kick-ass final boss theme. It's basically a remix of His World but it's so epic and triumphant that it makes you feel like you want to save the world." Sonic Rush: Wrapped in Black The second Super Sonic battle to take turns, this time with burning Blaze, Wrapped in Black doesn't have a lot of... variety. It seems to want to make a single statement about the antagonists at hand and its willing to beat it into you relentlessly. Good thing its actually kind of catchy. Sonic Rush Adventure: Deep Core To speak personally, I really like this theme. To me it feels liek the music's main melody represents a constant striving for the goal, or moving towards success, getting ever closer... and the always-on-time harder notes are like the threat of the enemy itself beating that hope down, eventually right back to where it started in a constant stalemate. ... I think that's the only time I ever described a song in such a manner. Sonic Unleashed: Perfect Dark Gaia The newest installment to the Super Sonic battle themes, this remix of Endless Possibility is set to add a healthy does of excitement to the fight against Dark Gaia. Incidentally, I don't know if Perfect Dark Gaia the real name of the remix or not. "Don't just sit there and waste your precious time. When you want to do something, do it right away. Do it when you can. It's the only way to live a life without regrets." — Sonic 1 Japanese Tagline. |

Live and Learn. Definitely. One of my favorite songs by Crush 40.

Live and Learn is definitely a good song. Another one I really like is Open Your Heart. SA1 was my first experience with Sonic games, and that song really pumped me up to beat Chaos.

RE: Best Super Sonic Boss Theme
What can I say, Open Your Heart! Having entered the Sonic franchise later than most this was my first ever Super Sonic moment. Brilliant music, fast pased action and (at the time) jaw dropping graphics. I still sing along to it even now...yes that includes when I'm walking down the street (although I only mouth the words then so I don't look like a complete freak XD).
Live and Learn was good but...nah, Open Your Heart for the win! Besides, Chaos was a hell of a cool boss too. ^^ |

I haven't heard Solaris Phase 2 or Perfect Dark Gaia (I just know that title is some sort of spoiler), but out of the ones I've heard I'd definitely vote for Live and Learn.

His world is great.. but.. that original crazy guitar riffing of Open your Heart has indeed opened it.

For those who haven't played all the games. Go ahead and give 'em a listen, though admittedly none of them are the same without the actual battle taking place. And no, it really isn't. Ah. Alright, I've listened to both of the ones I missed... eh, I still think I'll stick with Live and Learn.
