A Killer Hand: Characters up for Adoption
Okay. This was something that I’ve been thinking about doing for a while on my own. It came up during our meeting this weekend as an attempt to try and get some story going for the board. Originally, this was just going to be something I would play to get some new blood into the group of evil characters in this RP. When brought up, a few of the people in the chat seemed to think it would work. However, Jodie suggested I tried to make it a little more inclusive to the public to try and encourage a little more interaction among the members. I kinda like that idea so, on her suggestion, I make this thread as a pseudo-story recruitment.

So, I wanted to elaborate on Jacks backstory a bit. Since there’s a lot of unanswered questions, I though adding in another character who was involved with the experiments that created the hedgie would be a good way to do that, as well as have an evil character running around to add some conflict into this board. The first idea was to make a character of the lead scientist on this project. The guy who caused this whole thing to happen. Sort of a Dr. Eggman styled role, but with a focus on genetics, rather then robotics. While that concept is still up in the air, it’s the second part that seemed to garner the most interest.

Make some more creations by this shadow organization.

So I came up with three characters, who I just nicknamed Ace, King, and Queen for the time being, to go with a theme. They would be genetic experiments, like Jack was. However, they would have turned our far better then the Hedgie did. Thus, they would have slightly more stable powers (unlike Jacks rather erratic ones). Plus, they would also be more willing to go about a world conquest then Jack is. Basically, they would just be a group of evil furries with powers to get a little more conflict onto the board.

The others seemed to like this idea, but Jodie suggested I try asking on the board to see if anyone was willing to take the role of one of these characters, so it isn’t just me controlling three people, running around doing evil things. Having three actual people would encourage a little more interaction.

So. I made this thread to see if anyone was interested. Basically, if you want, you can take one of these three characters, and fill in all the information about them that I haven’t mentioned. Personality, appearance, species, abilities, stuff like that. From there, we would set up a little story arc to see what these characters can mess with, and see the end result. Just a bunch of evil shenanigans and whatnot. The plot can be worked out better if anyone actually wants to try this.

This is just a random idea that a few people seemed to enjoy the idea of. If you’re interested, feel free to say something in here, and we can see what to do.

EDIT: Took out a huge chunk of purple prose and got straight to the point.

Wooooo! Go Jack! Startin' your own evil organization!

...I'm starting to wish I didn't have work during the time of the meeting.... Sounds like one helluva idea. =)

....So, you're saying that we.... Form a character with a genetic power that has the backdrop/ground of an experiment gone homicidal and conquest-ive? Oh, me likey.

I'd be all over this if my character bank wasn't already full.

I wonder what would constitute a genetic ability, though... I've never been able to distinguish a line between 'genetics' and 'abnormality', because one day I'll think of it as one, and think of it as another the next.

Ufufufufufu! Clever Jack!

I always thought an abnormality was connected to genetics?

It's a great idea, Jack. (See Aji? I told ya ideas like this have turn outs. ^_^)

Well, the way I see it, genetics and abnormalities aren't mutually exclusive, when one can cause the other. Really, you could throw in any power that'd fit in the Sonic Universe, and just explain it through genetic tampering.

The way it sounds is, is that "genetics" is some thing were some one has tampered with the genetic structure while the subject is ether in the womb or after berth though gen-therapy or direct gen tampering. Or maybe even evolution.

While "abnormality" is something that happened as the baby developed but with out outside tampering. In other words he was born with it and it wasn't caused by testing.

All in all I like the idea. I may throw my hat in. Depends. : )

=B I'm curious to see the turnout of this. This could be an inviting new party of villains for people to face up to.

Oh god. Now I'm curious as to how that'd work out. Tongue

Well, I'm quite pleasantly surprised this was well received, so I guess I'll open the characters up for grabs.

If any one of you want one of these three blank slates for your very own use, drop a comment in here claiming one of them. Once I know what people are getting what characters, we'll be able to get to work on getting the plot set up. Plus, I'll be able to work out how I'll be able to put my input into it.
