Appearance: Brilliance stands at about average height, not including his ears, which are each about the same size as his head and add a few extra inches to his height. Overall he's a bright white color, with orange eyes. He doesn't wear gloves, but he wears special rainbow-colored laceless shoes. His tail is also white, and is about as long as he is tall; it usually sort of stands up in an S shape.

Personality: Brilliance is a bit of a mixed bag. He has a high sense of justice, and is never willing to leave a criminal unpunished. He's also somewhat of a showoff, and is always ready to show people just what he can do.
Brilliance will never back down to any challenge, but he'll always offer the other guy a chance to take it back. He's very kind, and will always attempt to ease his foes' despair after inevitably beating them. He hates the color brown.

Family:
Two parents and one younger sister who lives on his home planet; identities irrelevant. Single, likes to date every now and then but doesn't seem interested in going steady.

Transport:
Light beam - Light is one of the fastest things in existence, faster than even sound. By transforming his body into a beam of light, Brilliance can get from place to place at rates that Sonic the Hedgehog wouldn't stand a chance against. (Defect: Since light travels only in straight lines, Brilliance will have to keep stopping and changing direction if he's walking a crooked mile.)

Weapons:
Brilliance never uses weapons. His magic skills tend to suffice.

Biography:
Brilliance wasn't born on Earth. Rather, he came from a distant planet populated by a prosperous civilization, all with nearly godlike powers (godlike by our standards; they didn't think much of it). They had been living in world peace for decades, based on the mutual fear that war among their people would lead to destruction of half the universe. Brilliance himself grew up happily with his parents and his younger sister.
Then came the attack. A certain Sarath Crescent and his fleet of ships attacked the capitol, causing loads of destruction. The people of Brilliance's planet banded together and fought back. It was at the hands of these people that the Crescent Imperium suffered its first defeat. Frustrated, Sarath erased all mentions of this terrible planet from his log books as they retreated.
Little did they know that they had a stowaway. Brilliance, not wanting to let the Imperium get away with disrupting the peace so easily, got on board one of the retreating ships and hid as a shadow on the wall, waiting for his chance to make that fox and his cronies pay.
Fast-forward to Sarath's invasion of Earth. When that invasion started going badly, Brilliance knew this was his chance. Now he has come out of hiding and is looking for Sarath, not intending to rest until he knows that the Crescent Imperium has paid the price.

Combat style: Brilliance doesn't like fighting on the front lines. He prefers either to go it solo or to assist from the rear. His favorite fight is one-on-one. When he's fighting one-on-one, he never finishes off his opponent when he wins; he leaves them alive after giving them something to think about. His actual battle techniques are as follows:
Diamond - When attacked, Brilliance's body instantly turns to solid diamond, rendering him invulnerable to any variety of damage. This works even if he's unaware of it, because his magic energy automatically detects incoming attacks. He'll turn back after a few seconds unless he's attacked again. (Defect: Though turning to diamond renders Brilliance invulnerable, it also renders him completely immobile, but not unaware of his environment, until he returns to normal.)
Lightning - Brilliance can summon bolts of lightning at will, even on a clear day, and direct them to strike wherever he pleases. Getting struck by lightning is a very painful experience. Excellent at long range. (Defect: Brilliance has be able to see his target with his own eyes in order to strike it. Also, he can't hit targets that are indoors.)
Star Missile - With a simple mental command, Brilliance can summon a series of two-to-eight bright stars that fly at his opponent. They're just like ninja shurikens except that they home in on their target. Excellent at medium range. (Defect: This is one of Brilliance's weaker attacks.)
Shooting Star - To perform this attack, Brilliance transforms himself into a shooting star and launches himself at his opponent at amazing speeds, practically impossible to dodge. Ever been hit by a speeding train? This is like that, only without the whistle and the train tracks. Excellent at short range. (Defect: Brilliance can't slow down or turn while he's a shooting star.)
Wave: Brilliance can cast a circle of light about himself, up to twelve feet in diameter, and anyone in or touching the circle (except for Brilliance himself, of course) is instantly tossed into the air, usually followed by a rough landing. Excellent when facing crowds. (Fallacy: The circle doesn't judge. Allies are affected by it the same way foes are.)

Skills:
Shadow - If he needs to hide, Brilliance can transform himself into a shadow cast upon the wall or floor, completely untouchable. This is how he was able to stay under the Imperium's radar for so long. (Defect: As long as he's a shadow, Brilliance cannot interact with the environment. Also, someone might get suspicious about that shadow of a mouse that apparently isn't cast by anything.)
Soul Lock - Brilliance can use his magic powers to "seal away" a person's soul. The subject will then become robotic in personality, and follow every instruction he gives them to the best of their ability. (Defect: Brilliance has to make eye contact with the subject in order to perform this technique. Also, he can only "seal" three souls at a time.)
Mental Flash - When Brilliance handles any piece of equipment, he instantly gains full knowledge of its proper use. (Defect: Just because he knows how to use it doesn't mean he can. It might be broken, for example.)

FINE PRINT: This is not a serious application. I wanted to create a deliberately ridiculously overpowered character just for fun. Originally I was going to post it in Working Profiles and watch how the staff reacted to it, but the fear that Jodie would wring my neck for such foul play prompted me to post it here instead.
