Some artwork this time...MTP in Prismacolor! Yeah I bought myself some pens and they rock big time. Saying that this is about the 4th version of the same pic, I made a load of photocopies of the inked version so I could practice. XD

Very nice. I like the shading, its subtle and the fraying of the hair on the tail looks nice too. I like the colour blending a lot as well.

It's just concept work for now but eventually I plan on doing a full blown colour pic of each of them before I start work on my comic...yes COMIC! O_O *shock* Anyway, enjoy.

I like these characters. each one seems to show a different emotion on there face and in there pose. Only one thing though that grabbed my attention as odd. Ralph Shaquell right arm seems like it would be shorter then his left arm if he pulled it out of his pocket in that picture. Other than that there very good. Clean them up a bit and you would have some very good looking pictures.

Heheh, thanks Maddock. They aren't intended as actual drawings right now, just me working through the finer details of character creation. I've got another 6-8 of these to do and then I'll be working on a full colour version of each of them...probably as some sort of mass group pics. ^^ Actually quite an appealing prospect, I've done group pics before and they've always turned out well...a heap of work but very fun.

Unfortunately this caring nature has been twisted into a cruel reality by years of neglect and abuse.

Wow, you just keep goin'. oO; Not that it's a bad thing. Let's see how I'm gonna do this...

Ketone
Concept Strength: I think the strong point of his design is its simplicity. Although he is the main protagonist, his reserved nature shows in his appearance.
Weakness: He seems almost a bit too plain though. Of course, that could be easily remedied through his colors.
Curious Notes: Is there any particular reason for the cape?

Hyacinth
Strength: Her design is far more intricate that I imagined it to be. But in a good way. I usually wouldn't think breastplate and a serong would work together, but in this case, it does. And it gives her an almost elegant appearance for what she really is.
Weakness: Just my own opinion, but when I look at Hyacinth, I imagine she'd always be on the move. To that, the cape seems like it would be more of a hassle. =B Just me though.
Curious Notes: Where are those symbols? And any particularly reason why she has diamonds on her clothing?

Regius
Strength: Armor. Lots of it. I expected him to have it. It really makes him stand out considering most of your other characters are clothed in robes and whatnot.
Weakness: I think you should sit back and study armor more. Although it looks interesting, portions of it look like it needs to be refined. But that's to be expected in a concept sketch.
Curious Notes: Are those his ears or his armor?

Elathas
Strength: The design of his cloak isn't anything overly elaborate or his clothing in general for that matter. I think that's suiting of him considering his personality.
Weakness: His raccoon features are a bit boring. Generic raccoon mask. It would be cool to see a variation of it.
Curious Notes: n/a

Lynx
Strength: He looks like he stole those clothes from some rich bum. XD; That feathery cape... thing that goes over his shoulder blade was unexpected, but it does make him look different.
Weakness: I'm just wondering what the point of the cape is though. =B
Curious Note: Is he still a nine-tailed kitsune?

Lyn
Strength: The assortment of little knick knacks on her makes her more distinguishable as a character. I would also imagine she'd own things like that, being a thief.
Weakness: The placement of the chain is just odd to me. I would imagine that, as is, it would get in the way while they're on the run.
Curious Notes: How did she meet up with Lynx?

Sabrina
Strength: You've come a long way with this character. Although initially a knock off an Archie character, she's now formed into her own individual. I can see her being part of the Magistas. Her attire compliments her personality. It's less exotic than Lily's, for sure.
Weakness: I'm kind of wishing there was a twist to her character. Sabrina's always been pretty straightforward. About the only time she wasn't was when she was aged younger and had a thing for Lynx way back when.
Curious Notes: I get the impression that she serves as a caretaker. Is there anything else interesting to note about her though?

Ralph
Strength: The jacket is a nice touch to things. It adds a bit to him that other characters do not have. It seems just on the edge of modern without overlapping. Plus martens get brownie points [/bias]. <3
Weakness: Unfortunately, I cannot tell very much about Ralph from this drawing as a character. Arguably, this is still a work in-progress. And, again, once colored, my opinion may change. Similar to Lyn, the chain has an odd placement.
Curious Notes: When is he due to appear? And what purpose will he serve in the story?

Josh
Strength: His markings make him distinct as a character. You can tell what he is right away, yet he's different. He also looks very youthful, which is great. He looks his age.
Weakness: I'm not sure what's going on with his hair. It's different, but it almost looks like a shuriken attached to his head. XD;;
Curious Notes: I know you have noted that Sabrina takes care of him. Does he have any arcane powers then or is he just under her care?

Overall: Your characters have plenty of variety, which isn't surprising for me to see considering Agera. Unfortunately, it's hard to differentiate between species and ages here and there. I would do more studies on the animals and try to push their more distinct features. Even a simple change of their ears and muzzles would be sufficient. Remember also that small things like the size of their eyes and the shape of their heads can make loads of difference to how their age is perceived.

I'll go through the villains once you've finished all of their concept sketches.

Wow...you sure said a lot...*SHOT!* XD Well lets see now...

Ketone - Yeah, he's meant to be simple, his character is basically a young kit who ends up getting rolled into a serious plot. The cape is a travelling cloak of sorts, not well done but I'll be improving on that when I pin down his actual design. I want to do some fancy markings as he's a grey fox...they have insane colours. XD

Hyacinth - She was the first one I sketched out and I think its where my inspiration started...hence the slightly more lavish design. Still, I'm happy with the outcome. The armour won't likely be mail or leather...I was thinking perhaps magically enchanted cloth armour or something, light but only offering a moderate amount of protection. The symbols I missed off for now, I've still got to finalise the way they look and where they are. The diamonds were just fancy decoration I decided to add. =D

Regius - He's a royal knight...well not quite but almost...so yeah, armour is prominent. Never really done it before so it was a bit tricky and I'll likely need to get a load of references when I start drawing him properly. About the armour/ears...that is the armour you're seeing. Instead of a helmet...which would be daft for a fur XD ...they wear a metal headdress almost with a wing like fan of armour that covers their ears. If you look at where his hair and armour meets at the top of his head you should be able to see the original outline of his ears that I did.

Elathas - Yeah, he's not flashy so I decided something simple for him too. I juast stuck on the generic markings for now, I'll no doubt do something interesting later.

Lynx - He likely did steal it from some sort of rich bum. XD Lynx is a bit of a Robin Hood type of character in Mianol, protecting the weak and stealing from the rich. He despises the Stileen Royal Family for various reasons...which will be revealed in story. =D *SHOT* The cape was just to add a bit of baddass to him. XD As for still being a kitsune...yes he is but he doesn't know it. I'm developing a bit of story for him that links in with the history of the planet.

Lyn - Sticking a little to her original story, Lyn is a bit of a rich girl out for some fun. She met Lynx when he beat up her rich uncle and stole his gold (or something like that XD). Since then she's been following him around looking for trouble, she was bored as a rich girl although she still has a health wealth behind her that she 'borrowed' from her father before she took off. XD

Sabrina - Yeah she's come a long way since back then. She's still a bit of a guardian character but I'm trying to develop a few more ideas for her. I think I've got some good ones in the works but I'll have to work out the entire plotline before I can be sure they'll work.

Ralph - He's probably the most 'modern' character in the Mianol series to be honest. He's a runesmith so the magic he uses has the appearence of technology. In story terms he's due to appear in Chapter 4 when the group head to Selaquin...although he may appear briefly before that, not sure yet. One solid fact is that he owns a boat that will be used at points in the story.

Josh - His hair design is in flux. XD What I was going for and what I ended up for are a tad different so it needs some work. As for his position in the story, I had originally planned for Josh to be a surprise when I introduced him in the New Age Saga...same deal here. The direction I'm gonna take him in isn't one you'll expect but I don't want to give anything away at this point.

I still need to work on the finer points of all of them but I'll look at the muzzle/eye points for future pics. ^^ Thanks Yols.
