War Room 02

RE: War Room 02
Trigger grit his teeth and cursed under his breathe from the force of the hit across his shins. Lucky for him the new suit Robotnik had given him had shin guards, so he was spared any serious harm. Trigger's fighting spirit was starting to kick into gear now. He didn't even waste time with a witty retort this time. He just kicked the arms to the side, leapt up on the table in a roll; ending at the other side, right above Blitz's exposed back. "Peek 'a boo." And then let loose another ten round burst into back of Blitz's head, neck and back. By the time he was done firing their you could pretty well trace his aim from the dots on the bot. And at such close range, these shots were bound to have some degree of penetration.

RE: War Room 02
Sadly for Trigger, the close range also meant a lot of backlash, as Blitzkrieg's breastplate-like armor wraped around the back as well, covering his entire upper torso. That meant that at least a few of Trigger's blasts were deflected back, and at that close range it was extremely likely that at least some of them would hit Trigger himself.

That wasn't to say that the badger's attack had no effect, however. The impacts on his upper torso were met with the usual fizzle, slight glow of metal that faded quickly, and small burst of green sparks. The other shots had a much more obvious effect. The back of the android's head and his lower torso were not equipped with the thick armor of his upper torso, but instead with artificial flesh. Like with his face, the lasers seared the fur, skin, and blood away, leaving Blitz writhing in pain on the floor from the smoking wounds. The metal beneath glowed a bright red from the heat, but once again retained it's shape. However, the impacts on his lower torso also caused bursts of green sparks, just like the upper torso.

Meanwhile Blitzkrieg had had time only to pull back his arms to normal length before the lasers struck. He rolled around on the ground for a few seconds as though trying to put out a fire, screaming in agony. However, after feeling the pain of the blasts to the face, the android was more ready for the pain and could multi-task, so to speak. Even while writhing uncontrollably, he managed to focus his mind enough reach behind him and rip off one of the green Chaos Drives hanging from his sash. Still writhing, he pulled it underneath him and rolled over it, crushing it and allowing it's energy to flow into him. The pain ebbed away, turning instead to a hard steady throb that was much more managable, and he felt rejuvinated some as a portion of his lost power was restored.

He finally stopped rolling and writhing and just lay on his belly, smoke coming off of his back, completely immobile. He didn't move a single artificial muscle; he didn't even have to breath. To all appearances it looked like he was shut off. He maintained this appearance for about a minute, noting with his android hearing the badger's location and any movements he made, then shot out an arm to grab hold of the badger's neck and squeeze. He was to strong for his grip to be pulled appart, so if his calculations were correct and he got Trigger then things would quickly get ugly for the badger. Of course, even with android hearing and calculative ability, Blitzkrieg couldn't see his opponent, and as such there was still a decent margin of error. All he could do was lash out and hope.

RE: War Room 02
A couple of the shots did in fact rebound right into Trigger once his aim came down to the torso. Two struck his own armoured breastplate and did little more then create seared divets in the plating. But when the first two struck his chest, he realized the danger and pulled his head back just in time to avoid one reflected shot from going right through his own skull. Instead, he just got a nasty burn on the left side of his muzzle the glancing shot.

This reaction prevented him from seeing what Blitz did with his chaos drive. But, the distraction didn't last long. When he saw the bot go silent, he warily hoped off the table on the far side and walked around table. When came around the other side he kept his distance and raised his rifle to put a few more rounds into what looked to him, like a defeated opponent. Suddenly, and quite unexpectedly to robot's arm twitched with life and before Trigger could react grabbed him around the neck.

Instinctively reached for his neck, dropping his Mauler rifle in the process. A rather critical mistake, but when faced with this sort of situation, one rarely ever thinks everything out fully. Trigger lowered his chin and tightened his necks muscles, resisting the strong grip as best they could. But Trigger could tell it wouldn't be enough. So, with both free hands, he dug his strong, clawed hands into his captors grasp and pulled with all his might. Badgers being stronger then most furry species, he hoped that he might be able to widen Blitz's grip just enough to allow him be breath and not pass out.

RE: War Room 02
The android smiled as he felt his grip on the badger's neck, and felt the badger's futile struggle to save himself from passing out. He had somewhat underestimated Trigger's strength, and so the badger would be able to stay conscious, but if he let up for even a second he'd be in major trouble.

Blitzkrieg stood calmly, maintaining his firm grip on Trigger's throat. His free hand shot out and grabbed the discarded Mauler rifle off the floor. He examined it causally. It looked like quite an advanced and expensive bit of equipment, and he decided it would be in his best interest to leave it intact, if only to save Robotnik from having to foot the bill. Blitz put it down at his side, close enough that if Trigger somehow managed to escape he could crush the gun with his free hand in an instant.

The android smiled grimly as he glared at Trigger. He relinquished his grip just enough that the badger could breath without struggling to pry the grip apart, but it was still far too tight for him to pull loose from. "I want you to be painfully aware," Blitzkrieg said slowly, "That you are completely at my mercy. If I wanted, I could kill you now without a thought." To back up his statement he morphed his free hand into a set of slightly curved, double-edged knives. He held his bladed hand up for Trigger to see. "I could just morph the hand around your throat to match this one, and with a squeeze you'd be without a neck." Blitz morphed his free hand back to normal.

"Now then, to business." Blitz's grim smile dissapeared and his charred face became more businesslike. "You have been disarmed and, as I just mentioned, you are completely at my mercy. I don't want to hurt you any more than necessary. So can we please talk this out in a more civilized manner?" The android's face seemed to light up as he got an idea. "I know where to start. I don't think we've been introduced. I am Blitzkrieg, former GUN combat android, GUN codename BZKG01. It's a pleasure to meet you. And you are?"

RE: War Room 02
[Okay, a few dispripences have been noted, and the post is being altered as per discussion with Blitz. Sorry for the wait]

As Blitz spoke, Trigger's whole body seemed to tense up with a barely contained rage. Blitz would even feel the neck in his grasp tighten even more then it had when he'd originally grabbed him. The confidence, and boldness in Blitz's voice was making Trigger's blood boil. The idea that this bot seemed to think it was better, superior to him was driving him insane. He would not allow this thing to just waltz in and claim to be top dog. He'd die fighting first. Besides there was more to him then just his weapon. He would not surrender that easily.

His course of action resolved, his mind raced to analyze an opening, anything he could exploit to turn the tables. Hands still clutching at the hand at his throat, his military training quickly realized an opening. Confident his opponent was defeated and would rather surrender than continue the fight, Blitz had slacked off on its grip, letting precious air into the badger's lungs. That was Blitz's biggest mistake.

With air, he could think. And the longer Blitz held him and spoke, the more time Trigger had to decide upon his attack. He didn't even pay any heed to what Blitz was saying anymore. He just stared at him with cold, merciless eyes as he readied himself.

Before Blitz could quite finish his final sentence, Trigger struck with all his fury and might. His grip suddenly reached down his opponents arm, but not in an effort to pry the hand off. In fact, he did quite the opposite. He pulled with all his might towards him in an effort try and pull him off balance and into his reach.

With luck, Blitz would be caught off guard and be pulled off balance right into the waiting claws of Trigger where, once in reach, he'd slash viciously across Blitz's face to further disorientate him.

Whether he connected or not would be ultimately be irrelevant because immediately following after his slashing attack to the face, Trigger would try to grab hold of Blitz in sort of a head lock, smashing his head into the table.

Assuming any of this managed to work, Trigger would then throw the body backwards into one of the banks of monitors around the perimeter of the room, grabbing his rifle off the table to spin around and point the rifle straight at Blitz's head. "My name, is Trigger. And don't you EVER, forget it."

[Hope this works better, thanks for the patience]

RE: War Room 02
Blitzkrieg's eyes widened slightly in surprise as he found himself being pulled forward by the enraged badger. Was this guy insane? Did he really want to die? If Blitz hadn't been trying to get him on his side he would have slit the damn nuicance's throat a minute ago like he said he could. Was he trying to get the android mad, or was he just too proud (or stubborn) to accept a defeat?

At this moment his thoughts were somewhat jumbled as he found his face being clawed at (a futile effort that did no damage) shortly followed by the slamming of his head into the table, accompanied by a spray of green sparks and a crunch as the table fractured from the impact. Before he could reorient himself or counter attack, he found himself flung sideways into a bank of monitors, which were immedietly destroyed with a loud and satisfying crash and a spray of sparks, both white from the monitors and green from the android.

Blitzkrieg grit his teeth as he staggered to his feet, passing a glance at the barrel of the laser rifle aimed at his face before pulling a Chaos Drive from his sash and crushing it in his hand, allowing the green energy to flow into and through him, partially replentishing his energy store once again and giving him the rejuvination that he needed to clear his head.

He needed to figure out what he had to do to calm "Trigger" (funny name, but fitting, Blitz thought) so that he could accomplish his goals without the badger's blood on his hands. But how could he reason with an opponent who wouldn't accept defeat, no matter the cost?

Abruptly it hit him, and he immedietly felt stupid for not seeing it earlier. Ironically, it was his cool, confident demeanor, the manner he had intended to foster peaceful negotiation with, that seemed to be angering Trigger the most. It wasn't coming off as cool as confident; it was coming off as smug and superior. Combine that with the badger's obvious superiority complex, intense pride, and his defeat at the hands of the android (which Blitz had been none too subtle about rubbing in) and it became quite the volatile situation. As long as Blitzkrieg tried to make it clear that he was more powerful than Trigger, Trigger would continue to fight.

Thus, the android tried a new tactic. "Alright," the android said, still retaining his calm tone but trying his best to keep the air of superiority out of it, "I'll have to concede that to you. I underestimated you, and I appologize. I suppose I had put too much stock in my own abilities, and so I looked down upon you as less than me, and I appologize for that as well." This was of course only half true: it was true that he had underestimated Trigger, and looked down on him, but Blitz was still sure that he could defeat and kill the badger fairly easily if he tried, and he wasn't really sorry, though he made sure to keep those thoughts out of his tone and body language as he spoke. "We've clashed, and we've both ended up all the worse for it. I said it before and I'll say it again, I don't want to fight you, not because I'm afraid of hurting you or afraid of you hurting me but because I want to be on your side. So then, why don't we call this a draw, among equals? What do you say, Trigger? Truce?"

RE: War Room 02
[Hm... I would have figured that the bionic flesh on your face would have been more vulnerable to slashing damage... Oh well, no great loss. XD ]

Trigger stared down the barrel of his rifle with all the murderous fire of hell itself. Even as Blitz picked himself off the floor, Trigger never pointed his gun anywhere but the robot's head. And if needed, his rifle had had plenty of time to almost fully restore its power supply to almost full capacity; meaning if the mood struck him he could pound a whole fifty rounds at almost point blank into the bots annoying cranium.

And after watching Blitz crunch the chaos drive and apparently restore some of its power, Trigger's malicious grin broadened slightly. Now he knew how he'd recovered so quickly. And more importantly, now he knew his weakness. And if it came down to it, he'd show no mercy exploiting it.

Trigger listened carefully as Blitz spoke, never showing any facial hints as to what might be going on inside his mind. Unbeknownst to Blitz, but his speech succeeded just enough for Trigger's temper to calm down enough to where he could now think rationally.

Trigger didn't believe for a second this robot was truly sincere with its apologies for attacking him or for condescending him. Just by its earlier conversations it was pretty clear this thing was almost like him. And he certainly would never believe he was sorry for anything.

However he was willing to believe him when Blitz said he wanted to join Robotnik. That he'd been saying since they first meet and hasn't really said anything to the contrary to give him reason to doubt him.

And on that note, he started thinking about whether he should let him. After all, Robotnik hadn't been particularly clear on his orders. He just said to deal with the intruder. He'd dealt with him alright, and the guy had turned out to be quite the tough customer. In fact, Trigger had to guess he'd been the first real challenge for him in a long, long time. Maybe letting him join wouldn't be such a bad idea? Robotnik could certainly use the extra muscle... considering what he has to deal with now (apart from maybe Dak) would hardly qualify as muscle.

"Save the crocodile tears for someone who cares, clanky. I can see you're as cold hearted and blood thirsty as me, so spare me the false remorse." Trigger replied with icy daggers lancing out from his eyes to Blitz's. "However, you were right about one thing."

Trigger lowered his weapon for the first time throughout the entire exchange and his expression seems to soften ever so slightly; that is, at least to the point where he no longer looks hostile. "You put up probably the best fight I've had in a very long time. Robotnik might... just find a use for you."

Trigger's features suddenly turned cold again so fast one might have never suspected a moment ago Trigger was actually being friendly. "But get this through that metallic hear of yours here and now, try and double cross me, or the boss, or even cross me just once... and I promise, even those little gizmos won't save you from me next time."

[the bionic flesh on my face would have more vulnerable, if it hadn't been burned away by your lasers already :P]

The android listened to Trigger's speech and nodded. "Hmm, yes, I suppose I didn't really expect you to belive me when I said I was sorry," he said, with a hint of coldness in his voice but with a small smirk on his face."Cruel minds think alike, I suppose."

Blitzkrieg turned and walked over to his EX Gear leaning against the wall and picked it up, holding it at his side like a surfboard. "So, what next?" He asked the badger. "Are you gonna talk to him from here, or take me to him, or what?"

[sorry for the lame post, I didn't have much to say. :P]

"Nah, the boss is probably in the midst of his global 'take over the world' speech. Probably will be easier to just bring you along and show you to the Doc in person. Just don't try anything funny." Trigger reminded Blitz as he turned away and headed towards the door.

[Meh, no worries, mine wasn't much longer]

RE: War Room 02
Blitz smiled and mounted his Extreme Gear, setting it at it's lowest setting so it hovered mere milimeters over the ground and it's turbulance didn't blow about the whole room. It would be far easier for him to ride his gear about, even at slow speeds, than to walk with the badger, since his weight made him so slow. "I won't try anything, promise," the android said with a smirk. "So then, where to?"
