Ivan "Trigger"
Name: Ivan Trigosky

AKA: Trigger

Age: 34

Alignment: Villian

Sex: Male

Species: Badger

Family: Not important. No seriously, this guy would shoot his own mother if he got the notion to.

Appearance:

His fur is grey on most of his fur with a series of black and white stripes running down from the top of his muzzle over his forehead, down the back of his neck and the down his sides.

Clothes: (Current) Being in F4, Trigger typically wears a camouflage patterned vest that exposes his chest fur and powerful musculature underneath this thick fur coat. On his legs he wears a strong pair of cargo pants. Hell often have an ammo belt looped and criss-crossing over his chest in addition to the back he carries which holds additional ammo belts.

(Robotnik Empire uniform) Clothing wise, he wears a black and Grey jump suit with intermittent patches of red on the arms, shoulders and chest area. And over his right chest is the Egg Empires logo emblazoned in golden yellow paint. The suit doesnt cover his arms but he does bear a set of black and red gauntlets over his hands.

Personality:

If one were to try and describe Triggers personality, one could potentially break him down into three words: Trigger Happy Lunatic!!! But, seeing as this requires further explanation, I shall do so. Upon reading up on Ivans, or rather, Triggers past; it can be seen that his life has been much like a skyrocket. He rises to excel quickly, but ultimately comes crashing down.

Trigger hates those he considers soft, people who either cant or wont fight. He has no real friends to speak of because of his aggressive nature and he treats everyone, friend or foe with the same, aggressive, in-your-face, intimidating attitude. To him youre either dirt or garbage. He only shows the faintest amount of respect for those he feels deserve it. And he could count them off on just one hand. He treats all social encounters the same and even if someone were to have a gun pointed straight at his head, hed seem alarmingly calm and controlled about it. His face and his eyes especially betray no signs of fear whatsoever. Yet despite not knowing well enough to be afraid where there is more then enough reason to be scared, he is deceivingly bright and intelligent. So hes not completely insane.

According to the psychiatrist, the combat trauma Ivan endured through his years fighting in GUN caused his mind to snap in a very unique way. Now he seems to fear nothing. The same goes for feeling pain. Hes not lost his tactile senses or anything, but now he hardly seems fazed from suffering injuries that others would be screaming in agony over. Hes no super-man however, this frame of mind he seems perpetually in is similar to that of a Viking Berserker or a monk employing mind-over-matter. In the end this seeming strength may wind up being his death.

[note: additional aspect to be added upon future events]

History:

Growing up on Western Isle, Ivan had an abusive father who frequently beat him. His mother, too afraid, or too tolerant of it, did nothing stop it and as such, Ivan was introduced to violence early in life. He even grew to think it as normal behaviour as well.

Always being something of a scrapper, Ivan has long gotten himself into numerous fights. So when he decided he wanted to join GUN, it came to no one within his family. In fact he was encouraged to join. His father believed a life in the army would give him some much needed discipline. And it did, in part. In boot camp, he became well skilled in combat training and excelled in the single man sparing drills. The challenge drove him to try and excel in his training.

Upon completing boot camp, Ivan joined the GUN Marine Corp., where he was further pushed and challenged to meet the Corp.s high standards. But it seemed the greater the challenge, the happier he seemed to be.

He quickly proved he was a crack shot, with a machine gun no less earning him the nickname trigger and showed had a genuine killers edge to him. Before long he was deployed to active frontline duty where, of all his squad mates, he gained the highest number of kills of them all. When his unit was rotated off the line for some R n R; he requested and was permitted a transfer to another unit heading back to the front.

He lived for the thrill of the battle now; and unlike all his team mates seemed hardly phased by the deaths of both his allies and enemies. Some began to believe he had blood lust. But never the less, few had real complaints since he got the job done. But few in his unit socialized with him off duty because of his brutal nature. In fact, he threatened his team mates numerous times with their lives for suggesting him to seek psychiatric evaluation.

So, it continued for sometime, other soldiers grew to fear Trigger as much as they feared being killed by the enemy. But Ivan didnt seem to care. So long as he had enemies to fight, he never harmed them. However, when his unit was assigned to guard a recently captured enemy compound, he was less then pleased. Standing guard and working sentry duty bored and infuriated Trigger to no ends; and over time, he started to take the important job less and less seriously. And with his unit placed on security detail till further notice, things got only worse. One night his commander caught him away from his post, and not just a little either. Hed abandoned his post completely to go sleep in the base rather then stand watch where he was supposed to be.

As a result, he was demoted back down to the absolute lowest rank in GUN and stationed at a Quarter Master Station where he would still remain useful to the army while he worked out his issues in therapy. However, the therapy did little to help, and in fact seemed to further enrage him.

He pretended he was making progress in therapy in the hopes that hed be put back to front line duty. But the process dragged on for months. And in that time, Ivan had a chance to get a good look at some of the captured gear GUN stole from Robotnik after carious engagements with him as it passed through his Depot along the supply lines. And also had similar opportunities to closely inspect some of GUNs own Mechs and battle robots as they came in and got shipped out through his supply depot. He studied up on them as much as he could, though, he lacked the security clearance to access the more top secret aspects of the designs. He was by no means an expert, but he had gained enough insight to understand the strengths and weakness of both sides weapons and armaments.

He had hoped hed be able to use this knowledge once he got back to the front, but alas, it was not to be. His CO discovered that he had been faking the progress hed made in therapy and in fact, seemed even more lust full for battle then when he had first arrived. Preparing to report this, he viciously attacked his CO. Fortunately, the brief fight was broken up before he killed his commander.

Because of this, he was dishonourably from the service and sent to spend a year in a military prison on Prison Island. When released, Ivan, now calling himself exclusively by his nickname, had grown embittered that GUN had sent him away. Believing that it was their fault he was like this, after all they were the ones whod trained him to kill.

Deeply enraged by the military first taking him off front line duty to work in a boring supply depot because of his discipline issues, and then kicked right out of the service for the latter dispute, Trigger joined F4 for a time. He mainly did so in the hopes he could get back at GUN for dismissing him and also because it was an opportunity to get back onto the front lines, fighting. Fighting anything really. But he grew tired of F4s conservative hit-and-run tactics, and even more weary of the extended down-time periods between fights.

Now he has decided to ditch F4 and try to work for the one person on the planet who could appreciate his murderous mind and his combat skills. None other then Dr. Robotnik. But just like F4, he's not so much interested in conquering the world. He just wants to fight. And if he gets in with Robotnik, he can rest assured he'll get it.

[note: additional portion of history to be included once events have passed]

Weapons:
Stats:
Rounds: Capable of firing off 50 rounds prior to Cool Down in a sustained burst of fire.
Rate of Fire: High
Cool Down Period: 1-2 posts depending on # of rounds fired prior to cooling period.
Recoil: High
Accuracy: Low
Weight: 7.1 Kg

ML-284 MALR: The ML-284 MALR (Medium-power Assault Laser Rifle) or Mauler as it is typically referred as, is, while weak by most standards of laser guns available, it has one significant advantage over many other laser guns. It never needs reloading. Its other main advantage is its high rate of fire. The natural downside however to the this is that the high recoil and high rate of fire means the Mauler is very inaccurate, but in theory, the sheer number of shots put out will help compensate. Of course, like a machine gun, getting a 50% accuracy rating is nearly impossible without precise, well-controlled bursts. The weapon is also fairly heavy, so it is not ideal in a fast-paced, highly mobile gun fight.

The Mauler has a built in micro-fusion power plant that constantly pulls hydrogen gas from the air to fuel the reactor. The energy provided by the reactor powers the laser mechanism which then incorporates the helium ions by products of the fusion process to become the laser projectiles the weapons discharges. This does not however mean that the weapons can be continuously fired indefinitely.

The weapon has a habit of over-heating if not given time to cool and just because the fusion core youre using is small, doesn't mean a self destruction would be any less destructive as any other nuclear explosion. There are however fail safes designed to prevent such a critical failure of the core, but if those fail-safes come online, the weapon is forever useless. In fact it would be more accurate to say its more like an expensive metal bat at that point. If held in a sustained, fully automatic burst, the Mauler can fire off 50 rounds before automatic shut down occurs.

This number can be drawn out if the user holds their fire intermittently but the longer the weapon goes with out a good long cool down, the sooner the core will run out of energy and shut down the weapon anyways to recycle the ion particle storage capacity.

The other limitation is that the weapon can fire much faster then the reactor can intact hydrogen atoms and produce helium ions. The result is, after a point the weapons firing mechanism is automatically disabled while the fusion core replenishes its supply of both fuel and by-product.

This process can take quite some time, and under combat situations, that time-delay can mean the difference between life and death. And to further add to the delay, often times, the reactor overheats at about the same time weapon runs out of ion particles if not given brief periods to cool between bursts of fire.

Skills:

Professional Soldier:
Thanks to the training he's received after spending 5 years as part of the GUN Marines, Trigger knows how to operate independently on the battlefield on his own ingrained instincts. He is highly competent in using machine gun class weapons and is also trained to handle other heavy weaponry if needed. He is also trained in wilderness survival, courtesy of GUN.

Unarmed Combat:
Being a Badger, Trigger possess' a great deal of strength for a furry and a set of powerful claws that a feral Badger would normally use to dig for roots. And while he is still no where near as strong as a human, his strength is quite high for most furry species. And with those sharp, powerful claws, he is naturally well equipped to fight hard and fiercely close up. However, badgers are built for strength and stamina, not speed or agility. As a result, he is woefully slow and ponderous, but should his clawing attacks connect; beware the consequences.

Survivalist:
Because of battle field trauma, Trigger has become so accustomed to fear and pain that he no longer feels either sensation. In a fight, he fights fearlessly (which in itself can sometimes get him in trouble) and when hyped up on the adrenaline rush of an intense gun fight, he can fight on despite some injuries longer then most others. Similar in a way to how a berserker seems to take no heed to wounds suffered. On the flip side, because he hardly feels pain anymore, he doesn't always know when its time to call it quits, and can quite literally fight till he drops and never know how badly hurt he is.

Moves:

Night Vision: after the augmentations Trigger receives, his single robotic gives Trigger the ability to use a variety of vision modes, basically entailing night vision and infrared and can even magnify to a maximum of 5x magnification.

Defect: The vision enhancements only function for his one robotic eye. Meaning that in magnification, Trigger's real eye does not. Which can both be a little confusing and also it means his depth perception is off kilter. The same goes for his other vision modes. While his one eye can see in the dark, his other would have as much difficulty as it normally would so his aim can be off a bit when trying to shoot because of this.

Strengths:
Trigger is very tough and with his choice of weapon very dangerous. He is also quite strong so in close quarters taking a hit from him and his powerful clawed hands makes him quite a dangerous enemy. Also, he shrugs off injury and boldly does things in combat most people would never dare attempt.

Weakness:
Although he is tough and well armed, Trigger is woefully slow; both in terms of speed AND agility. He can't chase down enemies easily and while his choice in weapon compliments an entrenched game of hide and seek, the limitations mean too much firing and he can become very vulnerable for a time. Plus, while he can absorb a great deal of damage without loosing his head, that doesn't mean his body can take it all. If shot, he may never realize it till someone points it out, all the while he's bleeding.
Agile opponents should try to evade as many shots as possible, causing his weapon to over heat, then move in close. Once there, any agile and skilled martial combatant should have little difficulty in evading his slow, powerful attacks. His boldness may also yet be the undoing of Trigger as well.
