Move Section changed, re-worded abilities, added additional weakness and strengths. Weapons updated.
Updated! 12/28/2008 -------- Name: Dan Nickname: Viper Age: 23 specie: Human/Fox Cross-breed Height: 4' 2" Weight: 172 lbs. Appearance: Black t-shirt and brown carpenter pants, black pants cloak which hides black tail. His overall appearance is human besides the tail. His hair is often a mess and rarely is neatly neat, but it is always clean. Personality: Positive and upbeat, loves his work, and enjoys helping people. He very shy around women, and a bit of a planner too. He does have an aggressive side when things get ugly or racist which easily can get Viper mad. History: Dan had a rough start in life being a crossbreed. For starters a human and furry crossbreed was rare, and a living human furry cross breed even more rare. The few human-furry cross breeds that had been born often died during birth or a few moments afterward, often being bored with birth defects and quickly dieing shortly after birth, hence why its not often seen. Many are aware of the fact it's possible for conception between furry and human but often results in mis-carriage, pre-mature birth, and often proving fatal for the mother. Dan was a lucky one being born with minimal issues and only a muscle disorder. Despite Dan's luck, his mother died from childbirth, the stress of giving birth to crossbreed being too much for her furry body. Dan also needed to take daily medication for life to prevent uncontrollable shaking he gets from his muscle disorder. His appearance was mostly human appearance only a black tail revealing him to be a crossbreed. It was difficult for Dan as well as his father. His father, Larry, tired his best but there wasn't much he knew to do, there was no guide to raising children... let alone the rarest of crossbreeds. The first issue to hardship was both working and being with Dan, both which proved difficult to keep. He spent only about half his time with Dan and the rest of the time Dan was left in the hands of day care. This lead to Dan being rather distant from everyone as no one spent a long enough time to leave a lasting impression on the him. His tail being short and not grown out made it very easy to hide under a diaper, passing him off as a human with ease. This made it easy to interact with other human children, however as he grew older the tail began to grow out. The years just before Dan was old enough to go to school was rather harsh, as Dan wanted to have a connection with someone. His father was working many times and his difference in being a crossbreed was becoming more and more visible as his black tail began to grow further out. He was also ostracized from everyone else, his tail becoming too large to hide under a diaper and causing him pain when forced to hide it. He began staying home instead of going to a day-care center, often under the guidance of his uncle, Bob. It was difficult for find a place for Dan at school, cause during his years he kept being shuffled between schools for furries and humans, both claiming the other was the proper school for Dan. It required a court ruling before Dan would be able to stay at ONE school and complete his education. Dan did have the talent of quick mental growth like most furries and excelled in the human school system. He was often picked on by other kids cause of his crossbreed nature, but Dan held up with support from his father and uncle. Dan also became rather attached to his uncle, Bob. His uncle worked in the computer field and was rather talented with overall computers. He was good at all the fields and was always switching between the jobs due to his obsession to find his 'place' in the world. He was very often around the house, often between jobs and lived a bit of a vagabond life. He stayed with Dan and his father whenever he was in town, to save money and visit the family. He was very open and had pertly of tales to tell about his trips around the world and other places. Dan's family life was still difficult as his father had to support them all by himself. His mother's side viewed the marriage as a disgrace and most of his father's side viewed it as simply weird and wrong, so Dan never got to know any relatives besides his uncle. Dan's attachment to family was very strong, despite never really getting to know his mother, holds onto a picture of his mother and deeply loves his mother who gave her life for him. He wanted to live life for the fullest, for his mom's sake. He started to set goals in his life for things he wanted to try and do, based on the rabid tales of his uncle's exploits. It was hard going through Middle School and High School, were kids would start to pull more mean pranks and start fights. It was very difficult as Dan started to be introduced with new things like intimacy and his awkward position as a hybrid. He grew to be scared of the opposite sex entirely. He also learned finally why he learned why he had no mother. It was a low point in his life were he was filled with depression as he understood. He was the reason why he didn't have a mother. Dan began to pick fights and get into fights at a rapid rate but not having anywhere near the strength of a real human and easily was beaten in fights. He didn't back down however as his depression kept going and turned him into a rather bitter person. He became rather distant with both his father and uncle. He started to consider himself almost not even worthy of being called a person. He wanted to one-day get into a fight and just for it to end. He just couldn't bring himself to end his own life but during fights was about the only time when he 'wanted' to live. He kept fighting his own will to live and his depression to just die, this went on for over a year. His father and uncle both wanted to get him help but both were unable to get anyone that could reach him, as he had such a warped since of reality and cause of his awkward position as a hybrid. He was often coming home often badly beaten from fights. He was growing to be so gloomy that his dad thought be might eventually find the will to end his own life. He really started to think about why he should keep living. He kept thinking how much pain he had been through and how 'different' he was from others. The peer pressure from others only made it worse and with no friends for support it seemed he might just collapse one day from the stress. It happened when he was 16, upon all this thinking that he finally came to a conclusion. It was during another fight after school. The bullies had bought a knife and decided to bring 'The Freak' to an end. It was part of an initiation for another member to prove his loyalty and Dan was the target. Dan saw the knife and thought his wish finally came true to end it all but he could only feel fear. It was when his thinking came through as a thought was repeatedly going through his mind as the gang pushed the new kid to 'finish him'. Why am I scared? Why am I fearing this!? I WANT IT TO END! SO WHY AM I SO SCARED! WHY!? He thought as the kid with the knife got closer, and his mind only more distant. He had been thinking too much about life and the meaning to exist and only one truth came from it all. ... Cause I want to live. I wouldn't fear for my life, if I didn't value my life, then I wouldn't be scared. But... I want to live without regret, but how can I? I killed mom. She didn't even know me and yet cause I was born... The kid bought up the knife nervously as the rest of the gang behind started to chant 'Do it!' over and over again. Dan looked up for the moment and stared at the knife as the fear and internal conflict still held him to the very spot. She's dead, I'm not. Why am I trying to kill myself? She died cause I was born, what propose would it serve if we both died? The kid looked nervously at the rest of the gang as the they keep chanting 'Do it" over and over again from all around Dan. His expression changed to one of determination as it seemed he had decided he would do it to prove himself after all. None. He threw away the shroud of his problems at that moment and ran past the kid and though the line of gang members in an instant. He moved so quickly for that moment that he almost crashed into the chain link fence on the other side of the park before coming to a stop to catch his breath. He had moved at blaring instant speeds for that moment as the gang all turned to see there prey off a bit in the distance by the fence when a second ago he had been surrounded. Dan ran home afterward managing to keep ahead of the gang due to his speed and his head start by his hidden talent. It was in the next few days the gang was arrested, thanks to Dan's father reporting once Dan had told him. Dan however was suffering as his legs keep hurting for several days afterward. His father worried about the prolonged pain took him to see the doctor's to see if something was wrong. The instant movement he had done a few days before and created a great deal of pressure and had burse his bones due to its use. His talent seemed to be a by-product of his crossbreed nature. He couldn't use it long term and only in short bursts at most. He at first was limited to using it once a day cause it would exhaust him out, but as his stamina become better he could use it more then once a day as long as he kept the distance short, nothing as long as he did to escape the gang before. Despite his new found will to live and his latent talent, it didn't stop from future gangs or bullies from picking on him. He had come off as weak and easy for so long that he couldn't shake that stereotype his depression had earned him. He was now fighting back, at first with little or no luck. His lack in strength and limited use of his instant movement talent made it hard for any progress in defending himself, unless by running away. Dan however didn't run away, he wanted to break the stereotype he had earned so he would stay and often get beaten to a pulp due to his determination, however it was also cause of these fights be began to apply his own advantages into his own type of style... a way he could fight. Dan was recovering his grades as well, his depression had made his grades drop like a rock and now he was spending time trying to recover his grades from the poor position he had put them in. His athletics was also becoming better as his sense of balance and flexible movement was far higher then most humans. His keen sense of smell and sight was becoming also more noticeable. He managed to pull his grades out of the gutter and graduated school with at least average grades. College years were some of the best years of Dan's life. Colleges did not care if you were furry or human, so being a crossbreed didn't affect him as much. It was at this point it was clear Dan didn't have the 'height' of a human, as he was now the shortest person for his age. His father was paying for his college but Dan took on a job anyway. He wanted to pay for himself and his degree in electronics. He ended up working as an appetence to a blacksmith for several years, he learned the basics and some of the more advanced tricks of the trade. However the job was rough and difficult and his 'master' didn't have any sense of flexibility or kindness. Dan only kept the job cause the pay was a pretty penny. He managed to get his degree in electronics after two years and then decided to open up his own shop for electronics and blacksmithing. He had some funding help from his uncle Bob, who had been jumping around getting different high paying jobs and was recently very wealthy due to keeping his job for longer then two months for once. His uncle technically owns the lot, but the shop is completely run by Dan. The shops equipment was bought on a loan of money Dan needed to do, and so he started. He moved into his shop to finally get out in life. The shop was small at first and didn't get much for money as he was a no name at the moment. He managed to get a few specialty orders once and awhile. A few requests from museums for cheap replica of famous swords for displays and such. It wasn't much at first but it was livable. He made much of his profit do to web orders and placing his stuff on the web for sale. He did have the problem of robbery and gangs in his area. He was virtually forced to learn how to fight to protect his shop. He had plenty of street fighting knowledge from his years of being beaten at school but it wasn't always enough to protect his shop or himself. His father often asked him to close his shop and return home after several break-ins and several broken bones. Dan refused as he wanted to make progress on his own and not go 'backward' in life. It was around this time he met Tia. She had come to the shop on a low budget repair job. She was short on cash and couldn't afford to go anywhere else for repairs. She was a bit too famous of a assassin for an established shop, and too low on cash at the time for some of the big time black market places. She ordered her weapons be fixed and brought to a specific location at a specific date. Dan being completely unaware of Tia's history accepted the task of fixing her weapons. It was an interesting job and a difficult one, he had never worked with katars for repairs. He normally had worked with traditional swords and other common metalwork's. He rushed to complete it on time but came up a few hours short. He rushed with the repaired weapons to the spot as requested, only to find a bloody and badly beaten Tia. He was going to call the hospital but found Tia weakly grabbing him and telling him to stop before passing out. Dan took her back to his shop and let her rest in the guest bedroom. He didn't understand what happened but he figured she was badly beaten do to her lack of weapons, cause he was late. She slowly recovered and asked what happened to her, at first she wouldn't say and quickly placed blame for her condition due to his inability to bring the weapons on time. However as she spent over a month recovering, she finally admitted to being an assassin. She had to assassinating a drug lord, however there was a specific time, which he came out and hence why she needed the weapons before that time. It was so short notice and barely enough time she had to rush to fix up her weapons and do the mission, she had to execute the drug lord without her weapons since he didn't make it on time. Dan at first thought about reporting her to police as she was a murder but however quickly stopped himself and asked about why. Tia was surprised and caught off guard, she had never been asked that question before. She at first didn't know how to answer, but managed to answer carefully. She explained that she worked for a type of guild of assassin that only targeted people that were 'evil' for society in general. She explained about the details of her very mission and why he was deemed 'evil'. Dan was still unsure but he decided in the end he wouldn't tell the authorities. He could always tell them later if he felt like it. His logical thinking understood that some people were un-reachable by law and got away with plenty of evil things and he figured if someone was going to take on the sin of handling that matter, its best left that way. Tia around when she was almost fully healed asked if there was anything she could do to pay back her debt for his kindness. He came up with an idea. He wanted to learn how to use the katars, the weapon had really gotten his interest and his limited street-fighting experience was more fist-based, which was a key principle in how the weapons worked to begin with. It was odd at first but Tia taught Dan in the basics. It took a great awhile to get the basics. Dan practiced what he was taught daily and whenever Tia came by for more repairs or visiting he would ask for another lesson. This went on for a few years till he was about 22. His skill had improved drastically and his style was becoming far different from the traditional style Tia had first taught. His constant training combined with use of the style made him able to make excellent progress. He was also able to defend himself far easier and better in fights, often now coming out on top due to his bit of training compared to the untrained. He built himself several versions of katars, ranging from standard metal ones to even energy based ones as a bit of a hobby. His combat knowledge was rather high at this point but needed a great deal more to go. However, one day Tia stopped coming. Dan also didn't see her in the news or reports of assassins in the area ether. He couldn't help but feel a bit betrayed as she seemly disappeared. He thought it might have been something he said to her over training, as they often had conflicting ideals. He spent the next year, training even harder and even started to partake in fighting tournaments and other such events on free time to develop his own style more. He also began to not rely on his instant movement. He wanted to be able to fight on par without needing to use his unfair advantage, so he focused his training on fighting without using it. He has been practice his fighting style more so then his blacksmithing so his skills haven't improved very much in the fields of electronics and blacksmithing. He seems to have a goal for his life but he has yet to have shared it yet with anyone. He also has recently earned the nickname 'Viper' in several fight tournaments by the announcer often mistaking his black tail for a snakes tail. Weapons: Diamond Katars - Two identical wrist mounted katars, slim-line design that mount on the forearm section and the blade extends out when triggered by a specific movement of the wrist. The energy blades are highly effective ageist heavily armored targets but are quick to run out of energy. They have a metal core that can be used when the battery dies as a traditional blade, however it takes more strength and is more tiring to cut things cause more strength is involved, something Viper is lacking in. The battiers re-charge using kentic energy, when not in use however this is very slow and can take half a day at best to recharge. Combat Style Viper's style is high speed, focused on using his speed and technique to cause damage. He often never goes at full speed, hiding the full extent of his speed till it is required. His furrie reflexs prove to be a perfect mix to make high speed attacks. His defense is mainly evading, or re-directing by using judo-like techiques to perserve his own strength while wasting his opponents. He primary is focused on slashing attacks but is also proficent in kicking attacks as well. Diamond Strikes - A multi-target attack, using both blades he establishs two targets on his opponents and keeps attacking the two points at the same time. The idea is to confuse the opponent cause defending one area is easy, protecting two is a different story. His defense weakens when using this move cause he has to waste some of his focus on the multi-targeting instead of fully watching for counter-attacks. Diamond Wind - A move that uses his instant movement and blade swing at the same time to project the energy of the blade in a wave fashion for a mid-range attack. The move however requires his instant movement, so he must he able to use instant movement still. His blades must still have energy left, as that is the damaging part of the attack. He must be on solid ground, as since he uses instant movement to perform the move he needs to be on the solid ground. The range of the attack is mid-range but it has decent power and peircing attack, it appears like a thin wave of energy. He can only perform this move one at a time, and can not combo it like most of his moves. This is a combo ender type of move. When used in close range, it can be used to push the target away and cause additional damage while doing so. It leaves Viper exposed to attack afterward. Twirl Kick - When unable to use his blades or armed, Viper is very good at kicks. This moves is often used in combo's with his blades to break up his blade attacks with something unexpected. Viper uses the movement from a slash attack and comes around, letting his feet come around for low, mid, or high kick attacks while his back is turned. His low kicks are often met to trip his target. His mid-kick is met to cause decent damage to his opponent and maybe even move them if pushed hard enough. His high kick is aimed carefully for the knockout point to attempt an instant knock out, however cause that point can vary between people and its rather easy to avoid the high kick by leaning back or similar, the high kick is the least likely to hit and even if it does it often does not cause the intended knock out affect. The problem is that twirl Kick is met to keep his back defended while he gathers speed from his spin to deliever a powerful blade attack afterward, if it fails then his back is exposed leaving him open. Skills Trans-move - A move that takes advantage of Dan's unusaul bio-chemisty by causing a temporary drastic increase in muscle ability in his legs, often using in a one-shot or drawn out over several steps, but with the same overall affect, a drastic speed increase. He can use this in two major ways but regardless of which form he uses he can use the move around a 3 times before tiring, and 5 before exhuastion.
Strenghts - He is fast even without his 'Instant Movement', his speed being on level with a fox. - He is very deep when it comes to emotions and giving advice (so long as it doesn't invole him). - He is very worldly about his knowledge. - He has a very high ability in kick attacks. - Viper knows how to wall jump. - The energy blades are very effective at damaging armored targets. - The solid blade is good backup for when out of power, or not wishing to waste power. - Twirl Kick does increase damage for the next slash attack Weakness - Viper has very low strength, the little he has now is due to work and his training. - His 'worldly knowlegde' is often only enough to know the basic 'what it is' but not specificly, how it works, - His enduance is not very good and the little he has is wasted on his risky speed based moves. - Viper will think about how to get out of a mess... only once he is in it. - The energy blade function runs out rapidly, often lasting at best 2 min. - The solid blade is harder to cut with, and is very ineffective ageist heavy armor and machines. - Twirl Kick will fail if Viper does not connect with anything. This is cause Viper will lose his balance if he fails to connect with anything. - He has trouble relying on others. For Better or For Worse - (Anything that can be possible bad and good at the same time) - Viper has a 'leave no one behind' policy, he will go above and beyond to rescue those in danger. - He does sometimes gets too much 'into' a fight, especially if the person is on similar level with himself, which will result in him make overall making bad choices. - He does have issues following others, especially when he doesn't agree with their tactics.
