Board History

Sonic Aftermath RPG started out as a small one topic RPG on a completely different message board. After two fairly unsuccessful rounds which were plagued by inactivity and uberness the original creator decided to leave the board and left myself in charge of the workings.
About six months after the initial start of the RPG I decided it would be a good idea to move the RPG to its own board and thus Sonic Aftermath was born, named Aftermath after my story series I was writing at the time. Starting out on a free board (My Ikonboard) the RPG slowly grew in size. After a time we were up to about 20 members and the place was running smoothly when potential disaster struck.
The server's hosting our board decided to go on the blink and because it was a free service the Ikonboard wasn't that quick to respond. After 3 weeks of no action and continuing problem I was ready to call the board dead. That is where my friend Viper saved the place from certain death.
Offering me a host on his family's server breathed new life into the place and with the addition of new improved Ikonboard software it became a much more workable forum.
Recently however, several things outside out control have affected the board. Ikonboard's support forum was hacked by an outside force and the entire place was left a wreck. The creators of Ikonboard the decided to abandon the software due to the age and the apparent holes in the security. This left us with a vulnerable forum and no support.
This is when the next step in Aftermath's future was taken, it was decided to purchase our own domain name and start a complete site of our own without the shackles of Viper's family. After a little searching MyBB was chosen as our future board host and after a little work the new board is what you see before you.
Aftermath has now been running since July 2002 and with your help can run for much longer!

Aftermath has been moved to its new server of Ikonboard 3.15, as opposed to the Ikonforums Beta.

As requested by the members and staff Aftermath is heading into a new restart. After three years the story had gotten a little stale and a brand new start is required.
