RE: Last Boarding Call
[OOC: XD Yeeeeeeeeah, posting order went down in flames with the Retribution.
I think it was after party A (Sonic, Sarath, Shadow) started fighting in the current Zone (Last Boarding Call) while Party B (Tails, Slick, Amy, Jack, Tutley) was doing... stuff? And that caused lag within our server and caused people to D/C. The few who were able to reestablish a connection before the server timed out stood in awe of the AoE blast that is effecting multiple zones. ...In MMO terms, that's a nice little sum. :3] Tails had hardly staggered to his feet before thruster forces caused him to barrel about. He only regained control when he clutched onto Amy's seat for dear life. Talk about speed! "YAAAAAAAH!" |

RE: Last Boarding Call
'For the alien flagship this place isn't putting up much of a fight,' Sonic thought to himself. Alarms blared, systems were shutting down like crazy, and anytime he saw an actual enemy solider they were already running for their lives over something else. If the place was already shutting down then there was little left for him to do.
Way to make a hero feel useless. Maybe he would get lucky and bump into someone interesting while looking for the nearest exit back to the outer hull. "Don't just sit there and waste your precious time. When you want to do something, do it right away. Do it when you can. It's the only way to live a life without regrets." — Sonic 1 Japanese Tagline. |

RE: Last Boarding Call
Jack had barely enough time to strap himself in before the escape pod shot from the doomed battleship that once contained it. The inertia of the speeding ship pulled Jack back into his seat, his spines digging into the back as his hands gripped onto the nearest stable object he could reach for.
Jack didn't scream, or make any noise at all as the team fired off away from the hellish explosion behind them. The look on his face told the story. His teeth were bared, eyes wide open, a mixture of fear and determination, as if trying to send them to safety with their will alone. Fighting inertia, a gloved hand forced its way to the hedgehogs forehead. A simple flick moved the goggles he had been wearing all day over his eyes. At the rate they were going, he had the feeling he would need all the protection he could get. |

RE: Last Boarding Call
[Well, shoot. That posting order didn't last long.]
Shadow's smirk vanished as Sarath spoke. What he said was true: neither he nor Sonic could swim, and if the ship crashed into the ocean with them in it then they didn't stand much chance. "Damn it!" Shadow growled, before shooting off the bridge in the direction Sonic had gone. Shadow dashed down the hallways of the ship, his air shoes causing tornadoes of turbulence in his wake as he put on his full speed to catch up to Sonic, barreling through the corridors and blasting through everything in his path with the laser rifle and his Chaos Spears. Fortunately, there wasn't much in his path; the hallways were almost disturbingly empty of personnel. Despite the easy run, Shadow grew more uneasy with every passing second. The ship was about to crash into the ocean, and he quickly realized his chances of finding the Blue Blur were tremendously low, considering the massive size of the ship and the speed of his quarry. Shadow might be able to match him for speed, but Sonic had gotten a large head start, and while Shadow was dashing down the main corridor, Sonic could have taken any one of the side passages. After a couple of minutes, Shadow decided his search was futile, and that he needed to focus his efforts on escaping himself. With that in mind he turned down a side corridor and shot off in search of escape pods or a hull breach or anything of the sort, anything that could get him out of the doomed ship. He could only hope at this point that he would find an exit in time and that he wouldn't run into any of Sarath's stronger minions on the way... Controlling the Chaos for fifty years. |

RE: Last Boarding Call
Even though Slick had grabbed hold of the back rest of one of the seats, the extreme amount of inertia still caught him by surprise. He lost his grip and slammed into the rear bulkhead of the drop ship. He was literally pinned in a spread eagle position against the bulkhead, and upside down no less. While Boomer and Cutter had both gotten a chance to strap in before the launch, any of Sierra's gear that hadn't been strapped down had collected at the back of the crew compartment.
He could still feel the shock wave of the blast as it stuck the vessel and shook it violently. But after it passed, a wave of relief swept over him. He was still breathing, and there were no alarms sounding to indicate significant damage to the ship. So that meant... they had made it. "We made it! Tutley drop the speed a bit." |

RE: Last Boarding Call
Sarath just smiled to himself as he Shadow bolted from the bridge in pursuit of Sonic. Leaning back in his chair he surveyed the battered scene around the bridge and shook his head. He was pondering how it had all gone so incredibly wrong, could he have been more cautious or was he simply unprepared for the retaliation this planet had put up?
Either way he seemed remarkably calm considering his ship was about to crash and half his crew was dead. Reaching to his side he tapped a few commands into the console attached to his chair. A moment later a red sign lit up stating 'ALL WATERTIGHT BULKHEADS SEALED' followed by another that seemed to reel off a damage list. "I do hope Roxanna and Tanya are alright," he said quietly to himself as he read the list. "Do not worry my Lord, they will be fine," replied a voice. Sarath looked round to see Lefina slowly walking onto the bridge. Sarath gave a small sigh and nodded. "And our guests?" "Its unlikely they'll escape, the escape pod systems are all fried, they'd have to unbolt them and push them out manually and even then they'd just drop like a stone...not they'd drop far." The pair looked out of the main bridge window as, with a massive jolt, the nose of the ship hit the surface of the water... |

RE: Last Boarding Call
As Tails and the others escaped in their pod the two-tail's wrist-worn communicator would suddenly flicker to life once again as a familiar voice called through.
"Tails! Please tell me everybody made it out of that boat!" came Sonic's request. He probably could have somehow checked using his own radio to see if Tails' was still functional or something... but he'd only just been given this thing today before the Never Lake incident. Sonic kept his end of the line open just long enough for everyone near the fox to hear him yell in surprise against a loud thunderous noise in the background. "Don't just sit there and waste your precious time. When you want to do something, do it right away. Do it when you can. It's the only way to live a life without regrets." — Sonic 1 Japanese Tagline. |
