The Submerged Ruins of the Egg Carrier
Posted by Blitzkrieg on Mar. 16 2008,19:59
Blitzkrieg awoke from his recharge cycle. He quickly got up and pulled away the large cables attached to his belly and back, green energy still crackling from the ends of the cables. He walked over to a glowing panel in his bulky recharge unit and typed a few keys, and the crackling energy stopped. He looked at the room around him. This had Robotnik's cabin and home on the Egg Carrier, from which Robotnik observed the massive flight deck of the flying fortress. Now it served as Blitzkrieg's home. He walked over to the elevator in the back of the room and stepped on it. It sank into the depths of the Egg Carrier, stopping in it's main room, located directly below the flight deck. Years ago this was where Robotnik's first E-series of robots had been debriefed on their mission to capture a certain frog. Blitzkrieg walked to a doorway and hit the switch, opening it up to a long room lined with cages: the former prison chamber, where Robotnik had held Amy hostage. Now it was Blitzkrieg's weapon room. He stepped into the first cell, which was lined with shelves covered in grenades and chaos drives. Blitzkrieg pocketed ten grenades and slipped ten chaos drives into the back of his sash. He had been contemplating this little trip for a while now. He hated to have to do it, but it was high time that GUN payed for what they had tried to do to him, and this would be the only way he could do so. He walked over to the last cell in the row, the very same one Amy had been kept in. Now all that was in it was a black-and-green Extreme Gear that hovered about two feet off the ground. Blitzkrieg took this and looked at it fondly. It had been the only thing in his life that he had ever been able to trust. Stocked up with his gear, Blitzkrieg walked to a different elevator on the other side of the room, stopping in a chamber just below the main cabin. It was a swimming pool area that Robotnik had apparently installed for his own pleasure, which seemed very out of place on the flying fortress. The pool was dry now, of course, and the room served as the airlock for the ship. Blitzkreig sent the elevator back down and sealed the elevator hatch, then opened the airlock door. Water rushed in, almost knocking Blitzkrieg off his feet. As the heavy current subsided, he mounted his Extreme Gear and jetted out the open door, first shooting low over the submerged flight deck before angling upwards, shooting over the circular platform that Sonic and Chaos had dueled upon, until he cleared the ship and shot off towards the surface. Upon reaching the surface he stopped and hovered, circling slowly and looking around, trying to get his bearings. He noticed the shore of Station Square a ways off, and using it as a reference point he turned away and jetted off. He was headed straight towards Robotnik Island. Posted by Blitzkrieg on May 25 2008,19:21 [From A Quick Trip Back Home] Blitzkrieg gained altitude as he approached his destination, raising to a great height before nosing down and blasting into the water at top speed. The entry was smoother than one might have expected, but the hole in Blitzkrieg's chest sparked and sputtered upon coming in contact with the water. The sparking got worse the longer the android was in the water, but there was nothing for it. All he could do was push on. After a couple of minutes, the platforms, towers, and flight deck of the Egg Carrier loomed into view out of the gloom of the deep sea. Blitz shot in low over the flight deck, then slowed as he glided smoothly into the airlock. He dismounted his board and floated gently to the floor, at which point he closed the airlock door, sealed it, and hit a red button which drained the room. As the room drained the sparks flying from the android's chest subsided some and the elevator to the main room automatically unsealed itself. A short elevator ride later Blitzkrieg stood once more in the main room of the Carrier. He went into the prison chamber to drop off his excess gear and his board, then stumbled into the elevator which led up to his cabin. Blitz felt tired, very tired; it had been a very long time since he had lost that much power, and he had grown unused to the sensation. Upon arriving in his cabin he walked over to his recharge unit and tapped a few keys. "Protocol Set," a computerized voice chimed. "Repair Cycle and Recharge. Estimated time to completion: five hours." Fine, Blitz thought. Five hours here and a half hour to get back. Let's just hope they wait up for me. He sat down in the machine and locked the crackling recharge cables into his belly and lower back, and he immedietly felt power flowing back into him. As he slipped into the comatose state that accompanied the recharge cycle the last thing he saw was the mechanical arms reaching from the machine and beginning to work on the hole in his chest. With his dense armor, Blitz was rarely wounded; he lost battles by running out of power. But his recharge unit was equiped for repairs, specifically for repairs on him, and it was quite efficient at it. Watch out, Robotnik, he thought groggily as unconsiousness tugged at his mind. When I get back, those goons of yours don't stand a chance. Posted by Blitzkrieg on Aug. 14 2008,01:06 (Alright, I wanted to wait for Irridix and Trigger to arrive at the island first, but apparently it takes them five and a half hours to get there, because I'm not waiting any longer. Two months is long enough!) At long last, Blitzkrieg's neon green eyes snapped open, his vision instantly adjusted to the dim lights of the cabin. He looked down at his chest and noted that the machine had done it's job well; his chest was completely repaired, without a scratch on it. Perfect, Blitz thought to himself. Clean, polished and battle ready. Calmly, coldly, mechanically, Blitzkrieg armed himself with his usual ten grenades and ten chaos drives. In truth he was quite excited, but he kept his nerve and his composure. It wouldn't do to go into battle and make a mistake from something as petty as an artificially programmed emotion. Just before he left he shot out one arm to the last cell and grabbed his board, yanking it back to him just before leaving. Minutes later Blitzkrieg shot out of the airlock, the water rushing past him until he finally came out onto the surface and angled towards Robotnik Island once more. Alright Robotnik, the android thought to himself. I certainly hope whoever you sent is ready for me, because I'm on my way, and nobody can stop me now. [To Cross Country] |
