Any Place but Here
Tancer Fang on Aug. 15 2008,19:18

By now the two had made it to the exiting free way on Tancer's bike. The general mood of the city had been bumming out the silver hued fox. The look on their tired faces, how the moped around and huddled. Something bad was happening to this city.
If it could happen to one place, it most likely happened to another. The purple fox pressed harder on the accelerator, He had to go back to Radical city, check in on the gym and on Mike, his coach and surrogate father.
This was always like Tancer, too little too late.

Tancer called back, a hint of anxiety in his normal, rock solid voice. "Eh yo, yah hear rumors 'bout any other cities?"
He was hoping the answer was 'no'.

Roxie Valas on Aug. 18 2008,09:00

(Oh man I have an awesome song stuck in my head right now, it actually feels like it should be Roxie's theme song. Also, sorry for the delay~)

Roxie held on tightly to Tancer's waist; so what if this was her third time on the bike? She was never going to get used to riding on a vehicle that only had two wheels. She couldn't even ride a bicycle.

"Rumors? Well I know that it, whatever it is, had attacked Radical and Capitol. I'd advise against heading over there..." Roxie shuddered at the thought of what they could possible find. Her two favorite cities had been attacked and she couldn't possible imagine the damage that had been caused.

Tancer Fang on Aug. 18 2008,09:08

"I got people in Radical." Tancer replied, gritting his teeth at the mention of attack. "I got to go to Radical, I just have to." Tancer had to admit their was something soothing about Roxie's grip, knowing she probably hated being on his motorbike, he slowed down a few MPH.
"I'll make it quick, but I just have to go, babe." He repeated the 'have to go' part to himself a few times quietly.

Roxie Valas on Aug. 18 2008,09:13

Roxie frowned at the sound of "have to," but he had to, so whatever. She's a tough girl, she can handle it. She felt the motorcycle slow down; she muttered a "thank you" to Tancer.

"Alright then.." she mumbled as she tried to think of something else. Maybe this won't be so bad.

Tancer Fang on Aug. 18 2008,09:17

"No problem." Tancer called back "You got anyone in Radical or another place?"
The wind felt good between his fur. The road was smooth, the only sound was the hum of Tancer's chopper and rush of air past their ears.

Roxie Valas on Aug. 20 2008,04:10

Roxie laughed out loud at the question. Not in a mean way; just in a way that kind of made her realize how little friends she really had.
"No, I have no one in Radical. I do have my foster father Jack though. He lives in Station Square." She said.
Jack would be fine. He wasn't a military guy, but he sure knew how to protect himself and his home.

Tancer Fang on Aug. 20 2008,16:36

Tancer wasn't Mr. popular either. "I only got my bastard trainer Dudley. Thats it no one else." He took the nest exit heading east.
"So, what where ya doing in Station, I was just taking my baby for a tune up. The mechanics don't know a tail pipe from their ass in Radical, aint touching mah baby Krusher."
Tancer let out a chuckle, patting the side of his gas tank. "My baby."

Roxie Valas on Aug. 22 2008,21:08

Roxie laughed as Tancer patted his motorcycle.
"I see its the love of your life. I would say my music is the love of my life." She chuckled; how she missed playing her clarinet. Her thoughts turned back onto ol' Jack.
"Jack wanted me over there after the whole invasion thing just to be sure I was safe and all. " She replied. "Wait, you're trainer? As in what sport?" Roxie has just registered that he said 'trainer.'

Tancer Fang on Aug. 23 2008,00:12

"Yeah I love this bike, can't say it loves me though." He chuckled at that, banking left and taking an exit ramp. It had been only maybe an hout or two, but due to the lack of traffic, they where rather close to Radical city.
"I'm a boxer. I beat people up and they give me money, It's a living."
Though something caught Tancer's attention "Jack?" He asked with a curious tone. "He your boyfriend or something?"
The thought suddenly popped into his head, she might be just using him for his bike. He smiled to himself, what else was it there for?

Roxie Valas on Aug. 27 2008,21:11

Roxie couldn't help but laugh at Tancer's comment.
"Jack? My boyfriend? Try foster father." She grinned; Jack, her boyfriend? That was a good laugh.
"Ol' Jack is 54 years old. He's definitely not my boyfriend. He's a family friend who took care of my when I was little when my parents...died."
Roxie wasn't all that comfortable talking about her parents that way. "Would passed away have sounded better?" She thought to herself.
"Why so curious, eh? Are you a little interested?" She smirked and squeezed Tancer's waist a little harder.

[Sorrrryyy. School just started and marching band rehearsals are starting to get hectic. X_X; ]

Tancer Fang on Aug. 28 2008,21:00

Tancer smirked when he heard who Jack was. "Ah is that so... Sounds like a good guy, Me? Pops was a damn ghost and my old lady gave out when I was born."He tone was grim, but almost careless. "Doctor said I weighed probably more then you do when I was born."
He revved his engine, slowing down some more. There was a diner a few hundred feet in front of them, the two must have been 3/4 the way to Radical, Tancer thought a break was in order. He also had to refuel.
The metallic fox grinned feeling Roxie's grip tighten. "What, you thought I stopped to talk to you 'cause I like your shoes?" He let out a wild howl.

Roxie Valas on Aug. 28 2008,21:27

Roxie blushed at Tancer's reaction. "Oh honestly, you're such a guy."
She spotted the diner right in front of them. It was only till she caught a delicious whiff of the food there that she realized she was starving. Sure, they were still a couple a hundred feet away, but her keen sense of smell could tell that the food was great. She tightened her grip on Tancer's waist even more.
"Please please please pull over. I'm starving."
She pouted; she was pretty sure going there was his intention anyway. And if it wasn't, well it was now.

Tancer Fang on Aug. 28 2008,21:38

Tancer pulled up to the road side diner. It was a simple place, and the smell coming from it was that of home made style cooking.
"I try." He swmirked, he too was hungry. Tancer looked down feeling Roxie squeeze tighter yet another time. "Babe, we stopped, I want to breathe some time soon." He said jokingly.

Roxie Valas on Aug. 28 2008,21:41

Roxie giggled; she quickly let go of Tancer and hopped off the bike. She licked her lips-she was pretty darn hungry.
"Oh come on slowpoke." She nudged him with her elbow.

Tancer Fang on Aug. 28 2008,21:48

Tancer hurried himself, though speed was never his strong point. The wooden stairs under him creaked and sagged heavily, as if about to break. The floor made the loud groan as well though bore the deep purple fox's weight much better.
"toots" The waitress stared daggers at Tancer "you got a metal bench?" She kindly pointed to the back of the resteraunt.
Tancer held Roxie's arm lightly in his own, with a devilish smirk on his face. "get what ever ya want, it's on me babe."

Roxie Valas on Aug. 30 2008,09:57

"Oh..okay."
Roxie felt a bit unusual having a guy pay for her meal. She was never the one to go out on dates even though she was the flirty type. Now here she was, with a stranger she had only met hours ago and he was paying for her meal. She blushed; she couldn't help but feel a little embarrassed at the thought. She never liked to rely on the help of a man for anything. "Maybe I should just enjoy this for a bit," she thought to herself. It wouldn't do any harm.
She walked to the back and found a booth to sit in. It looked sturdy enough to hold Tancer's build, so she sat down. The waitress came over and neatly placed two menus in front of Roxie. She patted the spot next to her, motioning for Tancer to come and sit down. She took one of the menus and began scanning over the choices.
"Um...I don't know what to pick." She said to him.

Tancer Fang on Aug. 30 2008,21:52

At first Tancer was going to sit across from the pink fox-hedge, but seeing her pat the seat beside her, he took her up on her offer. Indeed the seat was sturdy enough to hold the purple fox. Although the seats where not the most comfortable, though they did have a nice cushy padding.
It was strange, it had been maybe 2 or 3 years since Tancer last dated, he was wondering if he lost his 'knack'. Roxie seemed the first girl who did get totaly weirded out when she touched him, though he did notice a queer look or two.
"It's easy, Babe. Are you really hungry or what?" He gave her a cool smile, flicking the menu open with a twitch of his wrist. He chuckled taking a good look at her. "Though you can gives these back when we're in here." He playfully snatched the rider glasses off Roxie's face.
"imma get two cheese burgers with fries and all that junk and a cherry wheat Sam Adam." He reached into his jacket pulling out his ID, tossing it on the table for when he need to show it. In plain view of Roxie, she could see that his last name was 'Fang' he weighed over 400 pounds and he was 24 years old.

Roxie Valas on Aug. 31 2008,16:20

When Tancer placed his ID onto the table, Roxie's mouth fell open. "400 POUNDS? " she thought. "This...can't be. It's impossible." His age didn't shock her though she did blush at the fact that an older guy was paying for her. She had a thing for older guys. With the crimson hue still on her cheeks, she proceeded to touch Tancer's side. She poked him to see if it hurt.
"So this...all of this is really 400 pounds?" She asked shyly. She knew that he had a pretty strong build, but she never would have guessed that he weighed 400 pounds.
The waitress came over and cleared her throat.
"Now, are you two ready to take your orders?" She raised an eyebrow at Roxie since her mouth was still open.
"Oh, sorry. I'll have a cheese burger with fries and water and he'll have two cheese burgers with fries, er "all that junk" and a cherry wheat Sam Adam." She slid his ID to the waitress, in case she didn't already see. She looked back at Tancer and then again at his ID. Surely she was wondering about the "400 pounds" but thought it best not to ask.
"Alrighty then, your meal will be with you shortly." She walked off to the kitchen to place the orders.
"Okay now back to my question.." Roxie continued.

Tancer Fang on Aug. 31 2008,16:38

Tancer looked at her as she poked his sides. "What? oh... that." Tancer had that look of something happening that was long expected. "I uh.. the uh docs say I got a hyper mineral disorder or what ever." He knocked the back of his hands together, making a distinct metallic clank. "I'mma metal fox, well... most of me is, I aint a robot Okay? so don't go calling me no robot? Aight?"
He smiled, taking a steak knife into his hand. "Wanna see sumthin' cool?"
He tossed the knife up, it spun end over end straight up, then began falling. Tancer placed his hand directly under were the knife would fall.
Of course it would bounce of his paw harmlessly, unlike any other person who would have tried this.

Roxie Valas on Aug. 31 2008,18:49

Roxie gasped as the knife bounced off his hand.
"Wow, that is impressive." A thought suddenly crossed her mind.
"So...most parts of you are metal? As in certain parts of you aren't?" Roxie smirked at him. She had no problem with Tancer being metal; she found it quite interesting. Interesting enough that she would want to stick around for a bit longer to find out more about him. Roxie knew she was getting into her flirty mode and she didn't care one bit. "Might make things interesting..." she thought to herself.

[please take this as light hearted as possible! ]

Tancer Fang on Aug. 31 2008,20:19

Tancer leaned, supporting his head up with his left arm. "So what about you, anything interesting I should know... like how yer strapped with a sickle?"
He grabbed the ice cold water that was always served for free, gulping it down. "Yah got some one yah should be looking over your shoulder for? 'Cause they haven't met me if so." He pointed to himself with his thumb, leaning back with a wide toothy grin.

Roxie Valas on Aug. 31 2008,20:27

"No no, I'm not afraid of anyone. It's a hand-me-down. Got it from my mom when I was 10 years old. It's like this tradition that all females get this and know how to use it. It's been with me for so long. It's gotten me into and out of a lot of trouble." Roxie gave a half-hearted laugh.
"When you live in Station Square and you're a girl, its not like every guy is a gentleman, if you know what I mean." She took a sip from her water and placed it softly back down onto the table.
"Maybe I'll show you what I can do with this baby. Her name is Red Thunder by the way. Ask me anything else you like." It was different, talking about yourself to a stranger. It was remarkably easy to do so.

Tancer Fang on Aug. 31 2008,20:35

Tancer nodded, messing around with his glass, twirling it so that it almost fell over but not quite. After a moment his eyes suddenly lit up, the food was here.
He eagerly stared at the two giant burgrs that where set down before him.
"Get you into and out of a jam? Heh, sounds like Skull Krusher to me, my bike."
He picked up the big burger, taking a huge bite out of it, It seemed Tancer was quite hungry. "Eh I'll let you tell me what ever." he said, but was near impossavle to under stand him with all the food in his mouth, Tancer wasb't one of the gentlemen of Station Square.

Roxie Valas on Aug. 31 2008,20:45

Roxie laughed at his excitement. She picked up her own burger and bit into, noticing how tiny her bite was compared to Tancer's.
"So, how did you get your bike?" She was curious as to how got it. She wasn't going to let him know anything about her unless he asked; she wasn't one of those "Oh let me tell you my life story" kind of people. She found them utterly annoying.

Tancer Fang on Aug. 31 2008,20:50

Tancr put down what was left of his first burger, not much. He grabbed a napkin and wped his mouth from all the ketchup. "Krusher... eh? I got it after my first big win. I was the under dog, but like hell I was losing. So I made a 'wager' on my behalf." He chuckled with a sly expression "It was 20:1 and I still had money after the bike,"

Roxie Valas on Aug. 31 2008,21:01

"I guess that means you're a pretty good boxer then." Roxie took another bite out of her burger and nibbled on some fries. She was brought up to be a lady; manners came easily to her. Apparently, not to Tancer. She giggled.
"You were pretty hungry, weren't you?"

Tancer Fang on Aug. 31 2008,21:18

"I eat when I am hungry, happens when ya grow up on the streets." He chuckled "But that aint an excuse right?". He ate his second burger less like a wild animal, sipping his beer.
"As far as boxing goes, I do well. I don't have a perfect record, but it's up tere."
He grabbed a handfull of fries and shoved them in his mouth, it would have been disgusting had he not done it in one clean motion. He wasn't about to rework himself for a girl he barely knew, but just enough to keep knowing her.
"The foods good." He said with a content smile.

Roxie Valas on Aug. 31 2008,21:28

Roxie nodded as she sunk her teeth once again into her burger, savoring the taste of the meat. She was practically a carnivore. A ladylike carnivore, that is. She drank some water before finishing off the burger and the fries.
"Mmm, that was good. Thanks Tance'." She held her arms out above her and stretched back.
"So, what do you do for fun?"

Tancer Fang on Aug. 31 2008,21:38

Tancer was done with his burger , he gave her a sly smirk at 'fun' "Nothing much, ride my bike, hit on a chick." He gave a quick wink, nothing forced out. It was as if he blinked with only one eye. "What do you do for fun?" He asked leaning back, putting his arms behind his back. His deep purple furry chest sticking out, with that metallic hue to it.

Roxie Valas on Aug. 31 2008,21:52

Roxie turned slightly red. She crossed her arms in front of her.
"Fun...let's see now. Go to bars, go out for drinks, flirt with guys..." she laughed at the absurdity of her comment.
"Well, actually. I like to play music. As in orchestral music. But the flirting with guys thing, that's true."
She smiled to herself at how ridiculously girlie she could be sometimes.

Tancer Fang on Aug. 31 2008,21:56

Tancer laughed, watching her turn was something that was quite fun. "Orchestral music? Izzat a fact?" He thought for a moment, it didn't sound to bad, even though he was a heavy metal type of guy any way. "Maybe you can show me one day, huh?" He was half interested, half being a sly dog.

Roxie Valas on Aug. 31 2008,22:07

"I'll have you know that orchestral music is quite popular. If you're lucky, maybe I will show you." She gave a little chuckle.
"So after this, onto Radical?" Roxie asked.

Tancer Fang on Sep. 01 2008,18:39

Tancer smirked at the first part, placing the money for the meal on the table. Being a show off, he had to tip big, it was around double then what was needed. The second part made him seem a bit more serious, as the fact of why they where rushing to Radical was dragged to the front of his mind.
"That's the plan, babe." He took her arm up once again, escorting her out. "Saddle up, Rox, we're gonna be headin' there fast, we'll have time to slack off when we're good and dead." He may have been a punk and a scoundrel, but he was a motivated one at that.
"If I go to fast, gimme a squeeze, heh heh."

Roxie Valas on Sep. 02 2008,20:23[/v]

Roxie gave a sheepish smile at the "good and dead" line. "Honestly, that was a tiny bit dramatic," she thought to herself. She hopped onto the bike and wrapped her arms around his waist.

"Right-o." She replied. Hell, the faster they get there the better. She would have enough time to prepare herself for what awaited in Radical anyway.

[b]Tancer Fang on Sep. 02 2008,20:50

Tancer revved his engine, stepping on the gas. He returned the bike back on the highway heading to Radical city. "We should be their shortly." he said back to Roxie over the sound of air whooshing past him.
For some reason, the normal sjimmering likes couldn't be seen, even though Tancer was sure they should be close enough to see the city lights. A chill went up the fox's spine, one Roxie could feel slightly. Seems the rock solid Tancer could be shaken, slightly.

Roxie Valas on Sep. 02 2008,21:07

Roxie enjoyed feeling them speed past everything; it felt like this wonderful blur.
That was when she noticed the lack of light too. She felt Tancer's body react and hers responded to his. Roxie automatically tightened her grip on his and clung to him.

"Hey, maybe we should slow down. I don't like the look of this." She said.

Tancer Fang on Sep. 03 2008,11:21

Tancer narrowed his eyes, taking the bike farther down. He remained at his fast pace, It was no trouble for him to control the bike. The two would enter the city in a matter of minutes now, but it would be like neither of them could have imagined. The purple fox remained silent, there was nothing he could say to express himself.

(((Most of the city is totaled right? so um, make a Topic in Radical, I always make the topics.)))

Tancer Fang on Sep. 08 2008,22:18

The duo rolled onto the high way, the wind blowing through Tancer's fur felt very good, liberating almost. Sure he was the classic tough guy, blunt, not too bright, and a border line womanizer. Looked at as a whole, it was clear that wasn't what he stood for.
Tancer banked the chopper to the right, the diner the two had shared a meal in was on the edge of the horizon. It was getting late now, the once shimmerign sun had given way to dusk, it to danced along the horizon, though it remained forever away.
"Ey yo, you turned a mighty shade back there, you alright?" Tancer wasn't the greatest at reading people, quite thick headed actually.

Roxie Valas on Sep. 10 2008,21:16

Roxie clenched her teeth.
"Oh it was nothing, I'm fine." She nervously laughed it off. She was blushing way too much. "Get a grip on yourself Rox, boys are silly. You know that. Not worth your time." She reassured herself.
"Hey, how much longer till Station Square?" Roxie asked.
"It's getting late...and er...I kind of don't want to get stuck outside..." She was sure Tancer got the idea that she wanted to be safe in her little apartment. But it wasn't as though she didn't safe around a 400 pound fox.

Tancer Fang on Sep. 10 2008,23:05

"Relax, babe." Tancer said back with a cool tone. " Not like we got 80 'cycles on our ass. right?" He chuckled in that way, it was past experience of his. "Another hour or so, I don't know, How fast do ya want me going?" He befan to speed up the motorxyxle, quickly reaching a few MPH over the posted speed limit of 65, this was only the second time Rocie had been at this speed. Though Tancer figured she would either choke him to death or get used to the speed, he was leaning ong the later outcome. The wind picked up, blowing wildy through their hair, of coarse Tancer's fur seemed to be in a gentle breeze compared to the pink hedgfox. He grinned devilishly while letting out a mock maniacal laugh. "If I get a pulled for speedin', you're paying the tab, babe!"

Roxie Valas on Sep. 14 2008,21:04

"Oh, I'm sure there are few cops around this area." Roxie had to yell above the sound of the motorcycle and the wind. She wanted to keep her hair from smacking her in the face but she was afraid if she loosened her grip on Tancer, she'd go flying. It was quite thrilling for her; going fast was a fun thing for her. She could handle a car quite well, but a bike was another thing. Still, at least she wasn't the one maneuvering it.

Tancer Fang on Sep. 15 2008,22:59

Tancer slowed the pace of the bike, turning off the freeway, he couldn't afford to drive the bike ar such high speeds. Another 20 minutes or so and Station Square appeared in their sights. The whole time, Tancer was telling a few short storied from his gang days. He had just finished the one when he had gotten caught stealing bread from Sal's, How all his buddies laughed when the guy broke a broom stick on Tancer and felt sorry and let him go. Tancer of course barely noticed it. It was something to pass the time.
((Tancer was charming Oliver Twist/West Side story type of gang member, Not MS-13))

Roxie Valas on Sep. 23 2008,11:23

[school is horrible. :/]

Roxie listened to Tancer's stories. She was quite surprised at the fact that he was in a gang and then at the same time, she wasn't. Tancer seemed like a tough guy yet not the type that would go around hitting little kids. Soon enough, they saw the outskirts of the city.
"Alright, we're here. We need to go down this street for another four blocks and then we walk to my place, 'kay?" She gave him a squeeze, making sure he heard her.

Tancer Fang on Sep. 23 2008,20:10

Tancer looked back, smirking at the pink hedgefox. He had to admit, he couldn't complain about her grip in the least. The dark purple fox followed her instructions, parking his bike on the curb, the last space before the block ended. He climbed off the bike, running his paw through his roughed up head fur. He motioned for Roxie to lead the way by extending his paw out, while opening it. His other paw had found its way into his pocket, leaving him n a lax posture, with his chest fur easily revealed through his leather jacket.

Roxie Valas on Sep. 30 2008,17:56

Roxie slid off the bike and handed Tancer his glasses.
"Alight, time to head on home. I like taking a shortcut there instead of going on the main street and waiting forever there stuck in traffic, so we need to walk between buildings, okay?" She motioned for Tancer to follow her as she headed off towards the space between a fast-food restaurant and a dry-cleaning place.
