Belly of the Beast
Sarath Crescent on Apr. 14 2008,06:08
[This topic is for anyone who gets captured or wants to be captured as a mid way point until the ship takes off for Capitol.] There was a great deal of activity around the two ships that had landed on the outskirts of Radical City's airport. Troops buzzed this way and that, many returning with prisoners and then departing to cause yet more trouble within the city. The ships crews were tending to various duties, ensuring that the giant ship was ready to take off again when her payload was full. Full of prisoners that is. Sarath was of the attitude that those who submitted and didn't resist were free to go about their daily lives as they pleased. Beings with no courage weren't worth his time killing and Sarath didn't like to kill needlessly anyway. If he murdered the populatiopn of every world he invaded there would be no point in keeping the planet once he had suceeded. He wished to rule, and a king without subjects was nothing. Not to say he didn't oppress those who submitted, everything was regulated and controlled to make sure that rebellion was rare or even non-existant. Still there were those who tired to resist, and those were the dangerous ones. While most who rebelled were simply killed, others were taken prisoner. It was a widely known fact amongst the worlds Sarath had conquered that these "prisoners" were nothing more than daily sport. Presently the truck that had been carrying Burner arrived back at the ships. The occupants didn't even get out and allowed two of the ship guards to haul Burner out of the back and drag him into the ships hold. The truck took off again back into the city, likely in search of more fun. Burner himself was dragged unconcious into the ship and roughly thrown into a cage. He wasn't alone, numerous cages lined both walls of the room, most of them full of four or five occupants. Burner's own cage held two occupants apart from himself. One was a rather rough looking brown ferret who was tending to two rather bad gashes in his leg. He looked up briefly as Burner was thrown in but otherwise didn't move. Leaning back one could make out several large bruises covering his face as the light caught it. He had obviously tried to escape once before when the door opened and the second occupant had been thrown in. This one was a female meercat who had been standing at the side of the cage nursing a broken arm. As the door slammed shut she turned towards the bars, snarling at the two guards who had just deposited Burner. "Who the hell are you people! Let me out of here now or I swear when I get out of here I'm going to make your head into a fruit bowl!" she screamed, throwing herself up against the bars. "Easy bitch, you'll get out...when it's time." came a snickering reply as the guards walked off. The meercat gave a small growl as they walked off and then turned to Burner. She crossed over to him, still cradling her arm, and nudged him with her foot. "Hey, you alive or what?" Burner Samson on Apr. 14 2008,06:20 ((Wants to be captured? I think it'd be best if you rephrased that...)) "..." Burner was just waking up. As soon as he got to his feet, he looked around. Those loons that knocked me out didn't look like police officers. And this doesn't look like any jail I've ever seen. Ignoring his roommates, Burner began to examine his cell from top to bottom, looking for a flaw that might lead to escape. He also privately noted that for some reason, his captors hadn't bothered to search him for weapons, and his switchblade knife was still there in his pocket. Not that it would necessarily help him... Sarath Crescent on Apr. 14 2008,06:31 [Surprisingly I've had a request. XD So I guess "wants to be" has to stay.] The meercat didn't seem too impressed by being ignored. She snorted and looked away, slumping down in a corner of the cell with the same pissed off look on her face that she'd been wearing for some time. "So you got a tongue or did you loose it?" The meercat didn't appear to have many manners, or at least she was too wound up to use them. That said she didn't really look that ladylike, dressed in a t-shirt and jeans as she was. Burner's other cellmate looked up as she spoke. "Why don't you just shut up for a chance. Your constant whining it getting on my nerves!" "Oh yeah? Well what do you want me to do instead? Smile and compliment them on the fine accomodation? Unlike you I plan on getting out of here." "Oh yeah? Didn't see you trying to escape when they opened the door did I? Maybe you're afraid of getting that pretty face of your bruised like mine." The meercat growled loudly but didn't say anything else. Burner Samson on Apr. 14 2008,07:05 ((Someone WANTED to be locked up? I'll never understand you guys...)) Burner turned around hastily as his cellmates traded words. He'd been right in the middle of examining the lock on the door; it was computer-controlled, and needed a keycard or an administrative command to open. "Hey, why don't the two of you make yourselves useful instead of making fools out of yourselves? You've both been here longer than I have. What do you two bars of chocolate know about this joint?" ((Yes, Burner called the ferret and the meerkat "bars of chocolate". I have no idea why.)) Sarath Crescent on Apr. 14 2008,12:55 Both the meercat and the ferret looked round at Burner, giving him a pair of harsh glares for a moment before deciding it was better to talk than argue. "I was unconcious when they brought me in," replied the ferret, "Although this sneaky thing says she wasn't." "Hardly sneaky, I almost had one of the guards eyes out until they socked me one and broke my arm." replied the meercat, "Remember those ships, we're on one of them. Dunno what they plan on doing but from what I've gathered by speaking to people...none of us submitted willingly. Its almost like they were only interested in the ones that resisted, makes sense really, lock up the trouble makers I guess." "Yeah, they don't seem to patrol either, must figure those fancy locks are more than we can handle. By the way, I'm Bret, that is Charlotte. Who're you?" Burner Samson on Apr. 14 2008,15:20 "...Burner. Now be quiet, I'm gonna look around." Burner continued to scan the cell. He tapped one of the bars with his knuckle, and noted the sound it made. Maybe it's some futuristic space metal that's strong against fire. But it's gotta be soft when heated enough, or it'd be impossible to smith into a bar shape. I wonder... Burner kneeled down and heated one of the bars near the bottom with a concentrated flame between his hands, watching the color of the area he was heating very carefully. Sarath Crescent on Apr. 14 2008,15:53 Bret and Charlotte seemed to be quite interested in what Burner was doing. They watched him closely, guessing his name had something to do with his skills. Whether they did or not wasn't exactly important though. The colour of the metal bar slowly began to change a little. The deep grey colour became a little lighter but then soon returned to its normal colour. The lighter grey colour seemed to spread up the bar and then disperse, almost as if the heat was being dispersed automatically through the metal rather than localizing itself. Burner Samson on Apr. 14 2008,16:46 ...? Burner cut off the fire when he noticed that he wasn't having much of an effect on the bar. He put his hand on it; the difference in heat was almost unnoticeable. ****! What kind of wacko metal are these things made out of? Looks like I won't be able to do anything to the bars this way. Searching all the corners of the cage, Burner confirmed that it was all made of the same unheatable metal. The only thing that looked any different was the lock on the cage, and it was probably just as sturdy. Maybe there's a way out of here, maybe there isn't. But I think I can see why they put so much faith in their locks and bars. Sarath Crescent on Apr. 15 2008,06:00 "Neat trick, can you juggle too?" said Charlotte with a hint of annoyance in her voice. "Do us all a favour and can the smart remarks would ya," replied Bret before shuffling himself over towards the bars, "Hey, you think you can do that again but for a bit longer? I ain't seen a metal yet that can withstand prolonged heat, alien or not!" Bret looked like he was pondering something but he didn't show any signs of enlightening either of his cell mates. Burner Samson on Apr. 15 2008,06:34 ...How did he know what I was thinking? Ah well. "Eh, sure. From the looks of it I'm not sure it'll do much good though." Burner kneeled down again and resumed applying fire to the bar, watching it carefully. Throughout the day he'd used his magic flames to set someone's uniform on fire, stop someone from beating him up, start a wildfire in the jungle, and retaliate against two gun-wielding soldiers. Now he was using it to heat metal and (hopefully) soften it. ...Something about using fire for so many things on the same day was beginning to have an effect on his ability to do so, and not a negative one. He closed his eyes for a moment... Sarath Crescent on Apr. 15 2008,14:56 Again the bar began to change colour as it was heated, and again the colour began to dissipate throughout the bar like before. As the heat continued though a gradual change in the bar's colour could be seen, the light grey colour was slowly starting to spread across the whole length of the bar. Bret reached out to touch it a distance from where Burner was heating it. He tapped his hand against the bar and drew it back fairly sharply. "Well that's some interesting metal, conducts heat like nothing ever seen...but it seems like it conducts it so far that it disperses the heat almost immediately. Huh!" "So, you're point being? Guess you're gonna fill us in on how we'd need a flamethrower to heat it enough all at once to melt it or something right?" replied Charlotte sarcastically. "Actually that was my thought...or we could try burning that control lock and see if that works." Charlotte gave him a look that said "why didn't you suggest that earlier". Bret just chuckled. Burner Samson on Apr. 15 2008,15:03 Burner suddenly stopped. One of Charlotte's last remarks echoed in his mind. "...we'd need a flamethrower to heat it enough all at once to melt it..." A flamethrower? In an instant, Burner thought of something. He remembered a scene he'd seen on TV once where a young street punk had used a lighter combined with a spray can to create a flamethrower. He carefully took one of the cans of spray paint he'd swiped from Sonno's room out of his pocket, held it in his right hand, and aimed it at the bars. His left hand was open and facing the area right in front of the can. I hope there's enough... Sarath Crescent on Apr. 16 2008,06:11 [I'm gonna assume you fired or this would be a really short post. Correct me if I'm wrong.] "Hey, where'd you get...?" Bret didn't get a chance to finish as the vapour from the can burst into flames before hitting the bars. At first it appeared that nothing was happening but a few moments later the entire bar began to glow slightly, turning light grey almost entirely at once. The grey only got lighter, soon turning white and then red where the flames were touching. The bar slowly began to thin slightly, the metal beginning to break down. Burner Samson on Apr. 16 2008,07:10 ((... ... ...Sure, let's say I did.)) Burner gritted his teeth as he moved the can to the side slightly, so that he would get another bar in the can's wake without stopping his attack on the first. Because of how close together the bars were, the absence of only one bar probably wouldn't offer much of an escape route, so he wanted to melt two bars at the same time. He didn't let up on the flames or the spray. Something's not right here. They didn't frisk me for weapons, they didn't post any guards. These locks and bars are the only things keeping us in. Do they WANT us to escape? Eh, who cares, we'll be outta here in no time. Sarath Crescent on Apr. 16 2008,14:59 The first bar was now glowing bright red, two others next to it starting to glow as well. Finally with a seemingly strange display, the first bar snapped like a piece of hot toffee, the two ends whipping in various directions very much like a suspension bridge tie would if it snapped. The second bar snapped a few moments later, doing exactly the same as the first. Various prisoners in other cages were now looking at what was going on with interest. Many looked like they wanted to shout out congratulations but seemed to understand it was likely an unwise idea. Others were beckoning for Burner to help them out though. Strangely enough, no alarms had sounded and even the shrill metal cracking noise the bars had made when they broke hadn't brought any guards running. It was very strange indeed. Burner Samson on Apr. 16 2008,15:44 As soon as the three bars were done in, Burner cut off the spray and the flames and pocketed the can. ...Is metal supposed to do that? And why is nobody patrolling? Oh, well. The resulting hole was big enough for Burner and his cellmates to get through if they went one at a time, so Burner went first and squeezed himself through, landing squarely on the floor of the hall. He glanced around for approaching guards, and didn't see any. "Bret! Cherry! Shake a leg!" Sarath Crescent on Apr. 17 2008,06:14 "CHERRY?!" came a shrill cry from behind Burner, "That's Charlotte to you buster!" "Charlotte shut it and help me 'shake a leg' will ya?" Charlotte looked totally put out by Burners play on her name and Bret seemed unamused by the 'shake a leg' comment concidering his injury. All the same they didn't seem to want to argue any further. Charlotte quickly helped Bret to his feet and together they managed to slip through the newly snapped bars. "That's gotta be the strangest metal I've ever seen!" commented Bret. "Speaking of strange, where are the guards at? I can't even see any surveilance equipment," commented Charlotte. Sure enough, apart from the other occupied cells there was nothing in the jailblock. No cameras, no automatic defense systems, no guards, nothing! The jailblock just extended down the hall to a door at the far end. That was it. Burner Samson on Apr. 17 2008,06:57 "Stop clowning and hurry up, you two. They're sure to see us the next time they bring someone in here." Burner began running towards the door and motioned for his fellow escapees to follow. Cherry's right, though. A normal jailer would at least post some cameras around here. They aren't playing games with us, are they? We aren't being tested like laboratory animals, are we? If there's anything I hate, it's being treated like an animal... Sarath Crescent on Apr. 20 2008,01:42 Charlotte and Bret followed Burner as best they could given Bret's injured leg. The door at the end of the hall didn't seem to have any kind of lock on it, just a simply push button to open it. There was no window in it so no way of working out what was in the next room. Something just didn't seem right. Burner Samson on Apr. 20 2008,05:43 "..." Burner hesitated at the door. He could just push the button and open it, but what if there was a whole mess of Imperials behind there ready to fill him with gunfire? His mind made up, Burner turned around and whispered something to Bret and Cherry. "I told you, you little punk, don't call me Cherry!" "Shaddup, Charlotte! I think I like the kid's idea. Let's try it." Burner and Bret hid themselves on either side of the door, pressed against the corners so anyone looking in wouldn't see them, while Charlotte positioned herself in the middle of the hallway, a few feet back from the door, so she'd be the first one a hypothetical Imperial would see. With everyone in position, Burner gave a nod, and Bret reached up and pushed in the open button... Sarath Crescent on Apr. 20 2008,10:15 The door slid open with a small swishing sound, the doorway leading into another room that was square in shape and lit a lot better then the cell block. At the far end of the room sat a large set of metal doors, the only other exit to the room and appearing to house a lift behind them. In the room there was...well a little more than one hypothetical soldier. In fact there weren't even just a few, whatever the number it was in double figures! None of them seemed to notice the door open at first, all of them kicking back by the look of it. One was dismantling a weapon, three more were playing cards, one appeared to be snoozing in a chair. The first cry went up quickly though even so accompanied by numerous clicks as automatic laser weapons were brought to bare on Charlotte stood in the doorway. "FREEZE!" Burner Samson on Apr. 20 2008,10:50 I knew it. Damn, he was right. Oh ****. Charlotte froze, just as she was commanded. She would have put her hands above her head, but that tends to be difficult when your arm is broken. "Don't shoot! I'm unarmed!" I hate that squirrel's idea already. Why did I have to be the bait? Burner and Bret remained in their hiding spots, knowing that as long as the soldiers thought she was the only one there, they'd be able to get the jump on them. As soon as the soldiers began to come through the door, they would... Posted by Sonno Blackmore on Apr. 20 2008,11:52 [From Dust Up] Sonno slowly opened his eyes. He felt groggy and his body felt sore. Sitting up, he noticed that his two shirts were gone. Parts of his fur were mildly singed. A small medical patch was placed above the right part of his uni-eye and a large one was on his side. The cut on his arm was wrapped. "Ugh...what is this place?" he asked looking around He was in a small cell. The surrounding area was dim with a stark blue glow. Many other furries lay in the other cells, children crying, drunks and addicts looking for a fix. It was hell, without the fire and brimstone. "But where did...oh," Rasha lay next to Sonno, just waking up. Her forehead was all patched up. She had light bruises on her arms and muzzle. "Hey Rasha, you ok?" Sarath Crescent on Apr. 24 2008,06:10 The soldiers that had spotted her, three of them, were all stood with their rifles trained on the meercat. "We'll decide that ya furry critter!" replied one of them, a slight buzzing sound filling the room before his rifle went off. The shot shot past Charlotte by inches, bouncing off into the cell block behind her where it was greeted by several alarmed shrieks and cries from the other prisoners. "Good shot, thought you might actually hit her," chuckled the second. "Ten rations says you can't do that again," added the third. "Heh! You got it," a second shot rung out , skimming Charlotte's other side by an inch. It was likely close enough for her to feel it, if not singe the edge of her fur as it passed by. "Told ya, pay up or your next." "Hahah! Good one, you loose Paul. Say what do we do with her now?" "Who cares? She broke out didn't she, our Lord doesn't give a damn about them anyway, only reason we took 'em alive in the first place was so we'd have something fun to do later. Wonder how close I can get these shots before she starts screaming. HAHAH!" A third shot flew from his rifle, passing by Charlotte's left ear. Burner Samson on Apr. 24 2008,06:33 Charlotte was now shivering with fright. "St-stop that! Who do you think I am, a shooting-gallery target?" It took all of Burner's and Bret's willpower to keep from laughing. Since nobody was actually coming into the room, Burner made some hand signals to Bret, who cupped one hand over his mouth and attempted a ventriloquist's trick. "That last one was pretty good! I'll betcha six rations you can't do it at point-blank!" With any luck, it would sound like one of the soldiers in the room had made that dare. Sarath Crescent on Apr. 25 2008,05:41 "Yeah, that's exactly what you are...and you're getting boring!" replied the soldier before giving a glance over his shoulder, "Point blank you say? Are you stupid or just retarded from birth? Don't matter, I'll just get rid of her then we can check out the cells. Maybe a dead body will stop any of the others trying this ****...although I must say it'd be fun if they did." Stepping forwards, the soldier who had been firing approached Charlotte and stood in the doorway. Lowering his rifle he quickly drew a pistol from his belt and raised it so the barrel virtually skimmed across Charlotte's forehead. "Been fun playing with ya..." His finger pressed down on the trigger. Burner Samson on Apr. 25 2008,07:32 Charlotte took a step backwards in fear as the soldier aimed at her. ...But as he did, the door suddenly closed on him. Bret was playing with the door open button again, but since it was off to the side he still couldn't be seen. Sarath Crescent on Apr. 27 2008,13:03 The door slammed shut on the soldier a split moment before he fired. Crying out as it hit him, he dropped his gun and staggered backwards into a fellow soldier. Due to this impact the soldier's gun went off, the shot rebounding off a wall and splattering a third soldier across the floor. To say the least chaos had ensued. Some soldiers were trying to help the one that had been shot and the second soldier was now beating the snot out of the first. It seemed Charlotte had been momentarily forgotten. Burner Samson on Apr. 28 2008,04:54 Wow. That couldn't have worked better if we'd planned it. At Burner's signal, Bret opened the door again, and Charlotte took a step or two forwards, put her foot on the pistol that'd been dropped on the ground, and kicked it in Burner's direction. He picked it up and examined it while Charlotte backed off and Bret closed the door again. I'd have thought they would've gone for something a bit more high-tech. Oh, well. I won't shoot yet. I should wait and see how much damage they do to themselves before I interrupt them. Sonno Blackmore on Apr. 28 2008,17:35 [Since Rasha's unable to post] Sonno stood up as best he could in the small, metal, cell. He bumped his head, making him sit back down. "Ow! C'mon Rasha, answer. You're startin' to scare me here," There was some noise from down the hall. It sounded like blasterfire and cursing. Either someone slept with another's wife or someone was escaping. Sarath Crescent on Apr. 30 2008,06:20 Through the closed door the sound of a vicious punch up could be heard. A few times something hit the door from the other side, a few shots being fired not and then. Finally though the ruckus calmed down as a cry went up, "Hey you dumb gits! We got an escapee remember! Quit your head banging and get her! NOW!" The sound of weapons being readied and acknowledging shouts could be heard for a moment before the door finally opened. Several shots flew through the open door before six furs ran through it. The one at the back, a fox, seemed intelligent enough to check on either side of the door, grinning broadly as he brought his rifle up. His companions were still running down the hall although it seemed they had noticed and were beginning to turn round. "Damn! There's three of them! Kill 'em all!" The fox leveled his rifle on Burner, preparing to fire. Burner Samson on Apr. 30 2008,07:00 ((Seems as if the Imperium favors foxes over the other species. I guess I can see how Sarath's mind works...)) Busted. Bret acted first, and punched the fox who was aiming at Burner, then attempted to strangle him. Burner began shooting with the pistol he'd just gotten his hands on, aiming at any soldiers he could pick off from his position. Charlotte, who'd somehow avoided the bullets that'd come through the door earlier, kicked the nearest soldier in the crotch, then aimed her foot at his hands, aiming to disarm him. Sarath Crescent on May 14 2008,06:33 [Not really, he used to be that way when I first created him but not any more. I generally pick foxes due to liking them now. XD Remeber, Bret has a leg wound and Charlotte a broken arm. Also, sorry about the late reply.] The fox Bret had jumped on was quick to put up resistance, aiming a solid punch at Bret's jaw and then following it up with a knee at his crotch as he tried to break the strangle hold round his neck. The shots fired by Burner worked nicely, two guards falling from the first volley of shots. The other two, a lemur and a skunk, took momentary cover as best they could then reacted. The lemur sprung forwards, diving at Burner with the intension of pummeling him into a nasty mess. His partner raised his gun as started to fire back, aiming to give his friend covering fire. Charlottes target, a puma, took the first and second kick just where they were aimed. Doubling over and then flying over backwards, he hit the floor and dropped his gun. Even so he wasn't about to give up, swinging himself round and diving at Charlotte's legs, aiming to knock her clean over. Burner Samson on May 14 2008,08:32 ((It happens. Forget this topic existed?)) Charlotte jumped in time, and avoided getting tripped. She then kicked the puma's weapon in Bret's direction while keeping an eye on her rival. Bret had just taken the blow to the jaw, and let go of the fox's neck for a second as he pushed him away (thus making the crotch jab ineffective). He then snatched up the pistol Charlotte had provided him with and took a shot at the fox's heart. Burner dropped to the floor and allowed the lemur to pass over him while he fired a shot at the skunk's hands to try to make him drop his weapon. I know I should be scared, but heck, this is FUN! Rasha Tailor on May 14 2008,12:41 Rasha groaned, rolling over onto her side. Her hands slid to clench her throbbing head. It felt like a freight train had hit her several times over. Rubbing her temples, her ears finally caught wind of someone saying her name. "Wuh...Who..?" She shook her head slowly. Then cracked an eye to see the hazy figure of a hedgehog. No, part hedgehog. Wait. "Sonno?" Sonno Blackmore on May 14 2008,17:08 Sonno looked down upon hearing Rasha's voice. Such a voice in dark times was like an angel speaking. The young hedgechidna was relieved to see her alive. "Oh thank heavens Rasha! Are you ok, how do you feel, how many fingers am I holding up?!" Rasha pushed his arm aside and managed a weak smirk. That's all Sonno needed. Sarath Crescent on May 17 2008,12:20 [This is getting good. XD] The puma scrambled to his knees as Charlotte kicked his gun away. Growling in rage he made a tackle for Charlotte, aiming to knock her off her feet again and would follow it up with a series of blows aimed at her face and broken arm. The fox tried to react but wasn't quite quick enough. Whilst able to avoid the heart shot he was still hit in the lower abdomen, falling with a scream and clutching his would. He was out of the fight. The skunk was more fortunate, being able to avoid Burner's shots and take cover behind a bulkhead where he proceeded to fire back. The lemur landed with a roll and turned back towards Burner. Being behind him now he had a slight advantage, removing a knife from his belt he threw it at Burner's back. For Sonno and Rasha, the fight going on down the hall was certain to make itself known. Several energy shots flew down the hall, a couple of them screaming through the cage bars and slamming into the wall at the back. They weren't close enough to endanger either of them but would certainly alert them to the matter. Burner Samson on May 17 2008,13:27 ((Energy shots from whom?)) Burner dodged sideways and towards the bulkhead, pressing himself against the corner where it met the wall so the skunk couldn't see him. The knife scratched his shoulder and drew a bit of blood, but he ignored it for the moment, instead firing a couple shots back at the lemur. Charlotte was tackled squarely and fell, but before the puma could dish out much more damage Bret interfered with a gunshot at the puma's back. Rasha Tailor on May 18 2008,15:35 [From the skunk's firing, I would assume.] Rasha rolled her eyes and was about to speak again when one of many energy shots nailed the bars nearby her. Bars, which meant they'd been captured. But where were they? And for that matter, what was going on? As she became more alert, Rasha came to realize there was a ruckus going on down the hallway. She pulled herself slowly but surely to her feet, using the wall for support. Her vision became distorted and her head clouded with dizziness momentarily, causing her to almost lose her balance and meet the floor a second time. Rasha held fast to the wall, bars, anything that would give her support as her mind spun a million miles an hour. As soon as she found her focus again, Rasha peered over out of the cell and down the corridor. In the poor lighting, the vixen could barely make out the fight going on. There were so many cages with so many other prisoners. It was awing and terrifying at the same time. Rasha half wished she'd awoken before Sonno, so he wouldn't have had to face the realization of the situation alone. "'ey! Le' us outta 'ere or ya'll gonna have it, ya damned hooligans!" Sonno Blackmore on May 18 2008,15:53 Sonno joined his cellmate. He threw his arm out and shook his fist. "Yeah! The very same country jargon she just used!" he yelled sheeply An energy bolt zoomed by, almost hitting his hand. He pulled his arm back in and left the revolting to Rasha. Sarath Crescent on May 19 2008,14:49 The puma didn't see the shot coming and collapsed, dead, on top of Charlotte with a scream. The lemur ducked to the side quickly as Burner fired, springing off the wall with ease as one of his species might. Bringing his foot round he aimed a kick at Burner's gun hand. The skunk, now seeing that Burner was too close to his companion to fire at him turned his attention towards Bret, a long volley of fire blasting from his rifle at him. The shots whizzing over Sonno's and Rasha's head had stopped now, the blasts more focused on the targets in front of them. Burner Samson on May 19 2008,16:56 Burner blocked the lemur's kick with his free hand, and fired a shot at him during the split second during which his defensive move left the lemur still. Bret ducked down to avoid the skunk's fire, and fired some shots of his own at his gun hand. Charlotte turned sideways to get the puma off of her as she got up. Noticing Bret's situation, she began to approach the skunk quietly. The headcount was now 3-2, in the escapees' favor. Hopefully it wouldn't take a turn for the worse. Rasha Tailor on May 20 2008,19:21 Although the shots had stopped coming their way, Rasha could still hear fighting in the distance. Perhaps her and Sonno could use that to their advantage. The vixen didn't even bother checking to see if her sword was lying around. More than likely, it had become someone's treasured mantel piece by now. Ducking down, she looked carefully at the bars. The metal looked alien to her but solid none the less. There was no way they'd get out using brute strength alone. She half wished that she'd been conscious when the others fighting down the hall had made a break for it. Perhaps they would have given her a hand. But then probably not. Who knows? In situations like this, it was everyone for themselves in the end, was it not? Still, she pondered over how they had gotten out. Rasha peered at the gate in itself. She could see a panel on the opposite side of it. The vixen reached a hand over and touched the box, feeling a wedge in it, more than likely for a keycard. Pulling out her wallet, she leafed through a few of her own cards, but Rasha soon pocketed it again. Different technology. It wouldn't work, and she knew it. Which left her with one last option. She nodded towards Sonno. "Stay back." Electricity suddenly surged and crackled, forming in the palm of her right hand. Sweat dribbled down her forehead as she charged the concentrated energy. Jocelyne Takira on May 23 2008,08:47 ['Sup, guys? ;D] Sonno Blackmore on May 23 2008,08:54 [Sorry] Sonno stood back as far as he could from Rasha. The cell was small, so the action wasn't really effective. The ball of energy grew bigger around the vixen's hand. It made Sonno's singed fur tingle a bit. The question was however, would it destroy the metal? "You sure you should being doing this Rasha?" asked the concerned hybrid, "you're still weak from before!" Sarath Crescent on May 23 2008,15:03 Burner's shots hit the lemur in the shoulder, causing him to spin round at the impact and scream in pain. It also had the effect of causing him to crash headlong into a support truss for the ceiling, knocking him clean out. The skunk, who had taken cover from Bret's shots, sneered as he saw the last of his companions go down. Stepping out from his cover he lay down a suppressive spray of fire and then turned tail, running up the cell block firing backwards over his shoulder randomly as he went. It looked like he was just about to run past the cell Rasha and Sonno were in. Burner Samson on May 23 2008,15:22 Burner, Bret, and Charlotte all took cover until the skunk's departing shots stopped. "That was too easy." "There are plenty more than that came from. We can't let our guards down yet." "You two watch the door. I'll see if I can't increase our party a little." After looking over the occupants of the cages a few times, Burner stopped in front of one cage that contained four prisoners: a porcupine, a red wolf, a cobra, and a raccoon. Something about those four seemed promising to him; as a former gang member, Burner had an eye for these things. Rasha Tailor on May 25 2008,00:15 "Ya'll dun get all strung up worryin' 'bout me. I ain't gonna let them scoundrels do nothin' to ya! Now watch an' learn!" The ball of electricity that had been surging in her palm suddenly formed at the tip of her index finger instead before bursting. A blinding light burst as it hit its target dead on. Whether it scrambled or otherwise dismantled the lock set in place Rasha wasn't sure. She sat there, panting despite herself. Posted by Sonno Blackmore on May 30 2008,20:40 The entire cell front was gone. Rasha had done it, but at what cost? Her energy, or what remained of what little life she had left? Only time would tell. "Uhhhh...so do we escape?" asked a dumbfounded Sonno His first guess was that they would help out the escapees that just passed by. Sarath Crescent on Jun. 01 2008,01:17 The front of Rasha and Sonno's cell wasn't exactly gone...but the lock had certainly been fried. Charred black and almost unrecognizable. The door had swung open and across the way lay the unconcious form of the skunk. He had been struck by an electric charge that had shot off the lock as it shorted out and knocked out. The way was clear for them to leave. For Burner, Bret and Charlotte everything seemed quiet. It seemed the guards in the next room had either all been in the assault party or had rushed off...most likely to take the wounded soldiers from the earlier incident to the medical bay. Burner Samson on Jun. 01 2008,04:44 "It looks like we're in the clear, Burner... uh, what are you doing?" Burner was speaking to the four occupants of the cell he'd chosen. "Listen carefully, you maggots. You saw what we had to go through to get out, and it'll only get harder. If you want out, you're going to have to fight. If you're not willing to fight, you're better off staying cooped up in there where you belong. What'll it be?" Rasha Tailor on Jun. 01 2008,21:53 Rasha took a moment to compose herself. She hadn't used a spell like that in a while, and, paired with the fact that she'd already been pretty drained in the first place, it was obvious using up such a concentrated amount of energy had taken its toll on her some. Wiping a brow, she took a breath, exhaling slowly. "Kay, les' go." She headed out, making sure to avoid stepping on the skunk. Her head was throbbing again and her ears twitched slightly from the pain, but that was all she would allow to visibly show her discomfort. With long strides, Rasha started down the corridor. She paused when she noticed the squirrel trying to talk some fellow furs into joining him and just rolled her eyes. "Ya'll know them boys ain't gonna listen ta notin' from some lil' fluffy tail'd critter." She folded her arms. "Bu' I 'pose we ain't zactly gonna haul out easy jus' by our lonesome selves, are we?" Sarath Crescent on Jun. 05 2008,06:20 [Moving us on I think...muwahahahahaha...] It was about this time that a sudden fairly high pitched warning siren went off. It seemed that the escapees had been detected by more than just the guards on duty now. Nothing approached immediately but it would not take long for something to show up... Burner Samson on Jun. 05 2008,08:05 The prisoners inside the cell responded affirmatively, so Burner took out the other can of paint and began flamethrowering the bars the same way he'd done his own cell. He was halfway through when the alarm began. "Burner, shouldn't we get a move on? That siren can't mean anything good." "Eh, we'll be fine. We'll get moving as soon as I get this group out and ready for action." When the bars were done, Burner stood aside for the prisoners to leave, and directed them to raid the corpses littering the ground for weapons. Sonno Blackmore on Jun. 05 2008,11:55 Sonno followed Rasha close behind. He almost lost his cool when the siren went off. "This doesn't look good!" He then caught a glimpse of Burner's attack. "Guy's got skills," he commented, "Hey isn't that one of my cans?" Rasha Tailor on Jun. 08 2008,10:14 Rasha fell to her knees as the siren suddenly blared. Her head already hurt and the alarm wasn't helping. She slowly pulled herself together, biting back a growl. It felt like her skull would split in two at any moment. She walked along past Burner and the grunts he was letting out of the nearby cell before stumbling and leaning up against one of the freezing metal walls. It jolted her senses and she snapped out of it. She wished she had her sword on her at that moment. Rasha felt naked without something to hold her own with, but it looked like the squirrel and his friends had already picked the assailants clean of weapons. The arts was out of the question. If she used up anymore, someone would have to carry her out the rest of the way. She wasn't afraid of the group she found herself near. For now, she knew they wouldn't kill her or Sonno. That would mean less cannon fodder for them. She waved for her companion to stick with her though. No doubt these hooligans weren't the best crowd to stick with. The only good use she could see for them would be the same reason they let her and Sonno live. Rasha ran off into the next room in search of a weapon. She figured the hedgechida would take the hint and do likewise. Sarath Crescent on Jun. 08 2008,15:24 Just then a different type of whine filled the air, not shrill or high pitched but dull and thumping. A series of clangs ran through the air as it metal was stretching or being placed under strain. Suddenly the floor lurched and the noises became a lot clearer...jet thrusters...lots of them. The sounds reverberated around the cell block as the scene through the small number of port holes in the hull began to sink out of view. The ship was taking off! The noise of the landing jets was soon accompanied by the sound of the main engine throbbing to life, they were leaving Radical. Burner Samson on Jun. 08 2008,18:35 Just as the last cell's occupant got out of the cell, the ship began to take off. Charlotte immediately rushed to the nearest porthole and looked out. "We're too late! We're taking off!" But for some reason, Burner wasn't worried. "Too late? Pah! A Dragon never calls it quits!" Burner rushed to the door, and made a motion for everyone else to follow. He also finally took notice of Sonno and Rasha, but did nothing to differentiate them from the rest of the escapees. "Come on. Follow me, everyone. If nothing else, we can force this thing to make an emergency landing." Viper on Jun. 09 2008,02:18 [Asked Links about joining before I posted this] Viper felt a bit relieved after making it several flights of stairs to the top of the building. He didn't feel too tired but this was likely cause this was nothing compared to his running work out. He came out however to see the shiny plating on of the many alien ships at close range slowly rising with a loud engine roar. He ran over to the edge of the building top to see the massive ship that took up several streets slowly coming up and soon it was going to clear the building tops. "Leaving already?" He was a bit unsure of what to do, he knew and heard about them taking people as slaves. He saw enough that on the way here. He was a bit banged up but he still wasn't out and exhausted yet. ... Can I really make a difference? Viper was kinda glad no one was here to see his charisma for doing right fail in the face of danger. He was scared of what he might find, and that he might fail. The ship was about to clear the roof tops at this point. I.. keep going... The image of a famous high speed hedgehog came to mind. He smiled as he heard the steps of soldiers coming up the stairs. He didn't avoid them but outran them. He ran off the side of the building using a bit of his instant movement and going into a roll for a moment to reduce the impact as he landed on the top of the alien craft. He figured since the soldiers were chasing him sneaking on was out of the question, so taking them head on was the only one left... or running away. The thought of running away cross his mind and left just as quickly. He didn't want to regret running anyway when he might be able to do something. Sonno Blackmore on Jun. 12 2008,18:03 It wasn't just about finding a weapon, but finding what you held dear. Sonno dumbly stood there, alone as Rasha went her separate way. It's hard to keep up with someone who can kick @$$ better than you. But what he needed to find was his pack. All his belongings were in that pack. His paint, his stencils...his ginger snaps. Main Objectives -Find weapon -Find shoulder pack -Escape Yeah that was the game plan, but as everyone knows that ideas never play out like you want them to. A writer could come up with an adventurous, romantic epic and upon completion, they'd feel disatisfied. Sonno could formulate the perfect escape plot and it wouldn't work out to his specifications. Right now was a matter of life and death, and the plan was to get what he needed, what he wanted and get out. "Just another typical alien invasion," he sighed He made his way down the hall, having no idea where he was going. He was going to have to rely on luck and fate. Rasha Tailor on Jun. 15 2008,01:54 Rasha stumbled again as the ship lifted off. Her mind flooded with a list of obscenities so long, she probably could have made a book out of them if she were to remember them all later on; I Swear I Know What I'm Saying!: A Dictionary on Cussing would be the title. But her mind wasn't even close to worrying about writing a silly book. It wasn't her thing, for that matter. Right then, the ship had just disembarked from Radical and was rising up into the sky, taking her and Sonno with it! Her pace quickened down the hall. She looked briefly around the room connected with the prison cells, finding nothing helpful in particular. Rasha dared not touch the computer. She feared she'd trigger an alarm, and then they'd really be in for it. The technology was unfamiliar, after all. Instead, she started down the next corridor. She hadn't the slightest clue where it would lead or what she'd run into next, but she hoped her fists would do the trick for now. Her footfalls were fairly quiet. It wasn't as if she'd never had experience sneaking around before, as much as she hated to admit it. Sarath Crescent on Jun. 15 2008,02:27 The next hall was long and fairly narrow, having no doors off to the side for its full length. Along the wall red beacons flashed indicating a code red alarm status. The rumbling of the engines settled down to a steady hum now and became all but unnoticeable. When Rasha finally made it to the end of the corridor she would find it opened into another room, well lit and fairly empty. At the far side sat a large pair of double doors that stood at some thirty feet tall. Printed across the front of it was the worlds 'MAIN HANGER' in large white print. To the sides were a few smaller doors that led off into more corridors. One might expect to find a contingent of soldiers waiting for them but there were none. Instead the only thing in the room, apart from a selection of cargo crates and such like, was a single black cat, a jaguar. She wore what could only be described as a belly dancers outfit. Coloured mostly in gold, with a silver looking trim, the jaguar was surrounded in vails and ribbons. In her left hand was gripped a single metal sai, the blade pointing along her forearm and ending at her elbow. In her right was a set of what looked like playing cards which she was fanning herself with. She didn't say a word, just stood and smiled. ------------------ On the deck of the ship Viper would soon find that he wasn't alone. It was a few moments after he landed that a lone figure appeared on the deck, emerging from a hatch in the hull. She was a orange furred polecat wearing a pair of shorts and a short sleeveless top. Her hair was scruffy and she looked like a rough and ready teenager like you might find anywhere. She didn't approach immediately and instead simply rose her fists in front of her and grinned. "Oh goodie! More people dropping in to play!" she said sounding almost excited at the prospect. Burner Samson on Jun. 15 2008,05:54 ((I'm not saying the Crescent Imperium doesn't need a place to hang their uniforms, but isn't any hanger as important as any other? What's the need for a main one, let alone entire worlds for its storage?)) Burner dashed through the corridor with everyone else trailing behind. On the other side, he finally caught up to Rasha. Unfortunately, now that the engines were quieter there was no way to track their sound. (Charlotte) "Now what do we do?" (Burner) "We look for something that'll help us." Posted by Viper on Jun. 15 2008,18:40 Uuurrrrgghhh The roll idea was good as that meant he wasn't hurt too much by the landing, however that also meant moving his right shoulder. He hasn't used his right arm much cause of the pain he felt since he was shot but during that roll it became painfully obvious something was wrong with his arm... literally. He was on one knee and as right left arm was lightly touching his right shoulder, as when he had attempted to 'grab' his shoulder it only sent a pain spike that nearly made him cry in pain. I know I was shot but how bad is it? He glanced at his shoulder an finally noticed the black flesh on the edge of his shoulder where the beam had hit. It had burnt his skin and gone somewhat into his flesh. It didn't feel too painful... so long as he didn't move it. He guessed maybe it was cause the laser being far faster then a bullet might be the reason but even then it was only a guess. He stood up and left go of his injuried arm to look at the pole cat. He could move his arm somewhat but he didn't think it would be any good for fighting currently. He turned his attention to the pole cat fully. She seemed in a offensive stance but she hadn't come at him to attack him so maybe... "Who the heck are you guys? You're just appear out of no-where starting taking what isn't your, and enslaving people! Why!?" He was hoping to find out something, a name, or something about these people as he knew nothing much about them. Well expect that they were here to conquer them... which was in itself obvious at this point. Sonno Blackmore on Jun. 15 2008,18:55 Guards were everywhere. They were looking for escapees to exterminate and Sonno didn't want it. Travelling the ship, he had to go through a repeated process... Sneak, hide in empty cell to avoid guards, repeat. It was tiresome and only getting worse. He couldn't fight them if he were caught. That burst of fighting spirit he had in Radical was due to Rasha's life in jeapardy. He wasn't like crime noir star Niko Bellic who would just say "we must fight these people my cousin" and go for it. He needed a weapon, but he'd probably have to fight for one. Woah! Two guards ran down the hall. Sonno jumped into a cell and let them pass. Rasha Tailor on Jun. 17 2008,22:41 Rasha glanced around cautiously. Main hangar, eh? she though to herself. Well, at least she was getting somewhere. Too bad she hadn't made it there faster. She and Sonno probably could have gotten out before the ship had taken flight. Rasha had no idea how high they were up, and she wasn't about to find out the hard way. But even if they had managed to make it in one piece to the hangar, it looked like they would have been delayed anyway. Out of the corner of her eye, she spotted a jaguar in a skimpy outfit. Rasha couldn't help but raise an eyebrow before brushing it off. Was this the only guard around here? But if it were one person, surely this wasn't just an underestimation, was it? And the fan she was holding--No, wait, cards? They looked almost like the Tarot cards she'd heard to be all the rage lately. But what would some critter from another world want with those? Rasha shook her head. She was over-analyzing things. It wasn't like her. She focus returned to the situation at hand. The hangar was large with few crates around. Rasha, herself, was weaponless save what magic she could conjure without sapping the rest of her strength. The rest of the gang was behind her, meaning she would have to play lone wolf until the thugs showed up. Grinding her teeth, she decided on her best course of action. She stepped forward into plain sight, figuring she'd been spotted already from the feline's disposition. "Whu ar' ya critters 'an whud ya be whun'tin frum us?" Sarath Crescent on Jun. 21 2008,00:28 "My, you sound like you lost half your tongue in a machine accident," smirked the panther. She took a moment to survey the group as Burner and his tag alongs appeared, joining Rasha, "Well now that you're here I may as well inform you of your situation. My name is Roxanna, behind me is the ships main hanger, inside a small shuttle has been prepared for your escape. You are welcome to use this to get away but first you must best me. I'm in the line of sport you see, a nice trophy like you would be a nice piece in my collection." The panther began to fan herself with the cards in her hand again, looking away for a moment and closing her eyes. Glancing back at them she smiled slightly, "Alternatively I can simply have you all killed right now." From behind them a number of solid clicks sounded through the air. A group of five soldiers had made their way up the tunnel behind them and were now aiming their guns at the groups back. ----------------------- For Sonno he'd find guards charging all over the place, advancing would prove very difficult and they seemed to be travelling in pairs at the least. If he wanted a weapon from one of them he'd have to dive in and try and get one without being shot. ----------------------- "Because its fun," replied the polecat, "Action and adventure...all in the name of our glorious Lord Sarath who is destined to be the crowned emperor of the universe. You should feel honoured that he has deemed your planet worthy enough to be a part of his empire!" The polecat smirked and started to move forwards, her fists still raised and her body seemingly itching for a good punch up. "But then its no surprise there is resistance, there always is...but it doesn't last long after we beat the snot out of the trouble makers...that means you. Now stick 'em up or get ready to be pulverized! I've not had a good dust up in weeks!" The polecat paused for a moment and then charged forwards, aiming a punch at the side of Viper's face. Burner Samson on Jun. 21 2008,07:12 (Bret) "We've walked into an ambush!" (Burner) "Feh, no problem." All at once, Burner and his group whipped around and opened fire on the five soldiers with the weapons they'd swiped earlier. The gunshots echoed through the hallway. Burner's group split in half, some taking cover to the left, some to the right, leaving the middle wide open. Unfortunately, Burner was the first to run out of ammo. Frustrated, he tossed the gun over his shoulder, and looked for another means of attack... Viper on Jun. 21 2008,14:52 This is bad. The words the polecat spoke brought a worry of what was to come. He didn't have time to think to deeply about it as the polecat came at him. Fists... second hand... He start thinking again of how to fight. The polecat arm came forward at his face, he then hopped back at the last second to avoid the punch. He normally would have gone for a counter attack but his arm. It however was still throbbing in pain. I'm fighting with one arm... this is bad. He raised up his good arm for a horizontal swing, waiting for the polecat to come back into range. Even if I can't take an offense, maybe just the threat of counter attack... He knew without his other arm defending during his attacks was next to impossible. He relied on the use of both arms to properly parry and defend attacks, with only one arm and a badly injured second arm. He just hoped the polecat would reconsider before attack. I need time! Viper was desperately trying to buy for time so he could fight out something cause fighting head on currently was likely going to end up very bad. Sonno Blackmore on Jun. 21 2008,17:08 The pressure was getting to Sonno as patrols were becoming less rare by the minute. In his hiding cell, he caught another pair of guards passing by. He needed a weapon and both were carrying a rifle. This was his chance. He leaped out in front of them and grabbed one of the rifles. He then spun around and kicked the guard in the gut in an attempt to get the gun from his grasp and quickly shoot the other. Rasha Tailor on Jun. 21 2008,17:32 Rasha smirked in turn. "Ah cud say tha same thang fer yur face, but ah ain't one ta judge. Anywhoo, ah am sorry ta say, chief, but ah ain't one to be playin' yur silly lil' games." It was as Rasha finished her statement that Burner and his crew of thugs made their entrance. Whether she had been banking on them or not would remain a mystery to the jaguar. Frankly, the vixen hadn't expected such good timing. She immediately leaped for cover behind one of the crates to avoid the stray shots. Her adrenaline pumped fiercely, her heart pounding in her throat. For now though, she waited it out until the gunfire had ceased. Sarath Crescent on Jun. 23 2008,15:07 As Burner and his gang opened fire the soldiers behind then shimmered strangely and suddenly vanished from view in the blink of an eye. A slow but steady round of applause sounded from where the jaguar stood. "Aaaaaww, you broke my spell, well no matter, I have plenty more where that came from." Raising the cards in her left hand in front of her one of them shimmered and vanished from view. At the same time the doors to the room slammed shut with a resounding clunk as they locked in place. "I hope you didn't forget, I said you would have to best me...not those useless guards. I think I'll start by playing with you..." She pointed her right hand at Bret, the card that had vanished appearing in front of her finger and then vanishing again. Almost immediately Bret found himself encased in a series of magical rings, locking his arms to his side and binding him tightly. Slowly he rose into the air slightly, hanging there suspended in mid air. The jaguar smiled. ---------------------- "What's the matter? Don't wanna fight? Your arm hurting or something? I was hoping for a more aggressive opponent...but I guess I mobile punch bag is good for now." The polecat grinned excitedly but didn't approach for a moment. Instead she just grinned again as slowly a red haze passed over her knuckles. Suddenly she dived forwards, swinging an upper cut at Viper as she got in range...her fists suddenly being enveloped in a mass of swirling flames. --------------- Not expecting to find an escaped prisoner in such a location the first guard dropped his rifle as he was kicked. The second was quick to respond though, rounding on Sonno with the butt of his rifle before he got chance to fire. In such close quarters it was dangerous to start shooting. Burner Samson on Jun. 23 2008,16:13 WHAT THE ****? Burner hadn't expected the guards to vanish like that. He immediately turned back to face the jaguar, and then came the rings that held Bret still and lifted him into the air. (Bret) "I can't move! Put me down, you wacko!" (Burner) Never seen anything like that before... can't let my guard down... Burner faced the jaguar again. His gun was already useless, its ammo wasted, but Bret had thrown his weapon on the floor right as the rings got him, so Burner snatched it up and aimed it at her, but didn't fire yet. "Not a bad card trick. Can you play blackjack, too?" What's she doing to Bret? Is she planning to work some sort of voodoo magic that hypnotizes him into fighting against us, or what? Viper on Jun. 25 2008,16:55 Dan swung his blade out however the polecat and dived under and was coming up, with a flaming fist no less. He attempted pull himself back but their was no time and in addition he hadn't really paid any attention to his surroundings, he didn't know what was behind him so instant movement was out of the question, especially since he was on a air ship... he could go flying right off and not even know it before it was too late. The solid smack of an clean hit could be heard and even with a bit of air time, as Viper head went back and the heavy impact sent him up, backward, and down on his onto his back with a thud on the metal ship. He stayed down for a moment before make movements again, as his brian was attempting to figure out, which hurt more his arm or jaw. The jaw won as the burning feeling felt like he had spilled boiling hot water from his jaw down to his chest, expect without the water. He rolled over onto his side and cough out some blood, leaning on his good arm. "Dam..n.." Dan looked at the ground and could clearly tell by the fact his blood seemed like it was blurred that his vision was all screwed up. He was purely luckly that he wasn't knocked clean out. Sonno Blackmore on Jun. 30 2008,18:52 Sonno was painfully knocked back onto the ground, though kept his weapon firm in hand. He lay there, pretending to be knocked out. He felt as if he should have been, but he was still kicking. Rasha Tailor on Jul. 01 2008,14:03 Rasha swore to herself as the doors slammed down for as far as the eye could see. Now, she had no choice but to face the jaguar. She peered behind her cover, catching sight of the binding spell she'd cast on Bret. "Never seen this here type o'magic 'fore. Ain't gonna be no piece'a cake," she muttered quietly to herself. She stayed behind the crate, waiting for an opening. If she tried anything then, Rasha had a feeling she'd end up in the same state as Bret. Burner now had a gun pointed at the feline, so perhaps her chance to strike would be soon. Sarath Crescent on Jul. 01 2008,14:47 Roxanna just laughed at Bret's comment and Burner's reaction. She raised a finger and wagged it from side to side like a mother motioning to a bad child. In doing so Bret found himself being slammed back and forth between two boxes as she wagged her finger. Finally she flicked her wrist to the side, the binds that held Bret flying off to the side and taking him with them. They slammed into the hanger wall some distance away and vanished, Bret falling to the floor some meters below...if he wasn't unconcious he'd be very lucky. "Oh that was rather fun, I really should make more spell cards for that one...so much fun. Oh well, I have plenty more 'card tricks', as you say, left. Who wants to be next?" -------------------- The polecat simply stood and watched as Viper tried to work out where he was. She bounced from one foot to the other like a boxer, her arms raised in front of her and taking playful jabs at the air. She seemed to be enjoying herself. "Oh come on! You're no fun, maybe I should just throw you over board huh?" Tanya quickly stepped forwards, closing the distance and aiming a grab for Viper's collar. --------------------- "GAH! Must be one of those escaped prisoners! I thought Rox was supposed to be taking care of them!" said the first guard as he picked himself up off the floor, "Lousy filthy feline..." "Shut it! Comments like that will get you killed off if anyone finds out!" replied the second quickly as he lightly tapped Sonno's side with the tip of his rifle. "Yeah whatever, like anyone will find out. Maybe we should take this one down to her. I'm sure she's already having fun killing the others off one by one." "You heard what she did to the last lot that tried to escape?" "No what?" "Toyed with them for an hour and then struck them off one by one. I wonder if she's been around our Lord too much, she enjoys torturing her guests way too much. Hell one of them was only a kid too." "Kid or not it don't matter, lets get this one back to the cell block, we're due to rendezvous with our Lord in an hour...I hear a big fight has broken out over the city." "Sounds like fun, hope we get a piece of the action." The first guard poked Sonno again with the tip of his rifle as the other leaned down to grab him. Burner Samson on Jul. 01 2008,15:36 ((Roxanna? That her name? I don't believe you ever mentioned it...)) Bret wasn't quite unconscious, but he wasn't exactly in good shape either. His body, especially his head, ached all over. He mumbled something incomprehensible to himself as he struggled to get to his feet. Burner, Charlotte, and the rest of the crew stood steadfast. Burner was going over something in his head, while keeping his gun trained on the jaguar. Spell cards? So those cards she's holding are what enables her to toy with us like this? I wonder if... At around that time, one of Burner's party, the raccoon, broke out of the crowd with gun in hand, charged towards the jaguar from the left, and fired three shots at her chest. Burner just rolled his eyes at the raccoon's haste, sure that such a move wouldn't get them anywhere. Viper on Jul. 06 2008,13:13 [Sorry for being slow a bit] Viper pushed himself towards the polecat sliding toward her, as her hand came down. Even if I can't see details... He swung his right foot up, letting his body weight to his good left arm, as his foot swung out to strike her from the side. ... doesn't mean I can't hit! Sonno Blackmore on Jul. 07 2008,17:39 Suddenly, Sonno shot up, blasting one guard in the chest and tripping the other. The hardened armor covering the guard's ankle brought pain to Sonno's foot. Even so, he managed to hop up and limp down the corridor. "Come and get me suckers...ow!" he shouted |

RE: Belly of the Beast

Rasha watched a while longer as Roxanna effortlessly gave Bret the battering of his life before tossing him aside. She felt a bit bad for the poor *******, but her attention quickly shifted back to the jaguar. Mus' be pretta confident tah lollygag like tha', she thought to herself. But Rasha did pick up something up from her words. Spell cards. They seemed to be the only source of her power. Maybe if she could disarm Roxanna of them, perhaps... It was then that the raccoon made his mad run. Rasha rolled her eyes but swerved out from behind the crates and took to a sprint, hoping the jaguar would be distracted enough from the shots. Rasha dove at her, trying to knick at least one of the cards from her. She hoped her old skills weren't rusty just that once. Sarath Crescent on Jul. 08 2008,06:33 [She introduced herself two posts ago Burner. XD] Roxanna remained completely still as the racoon charged in followed a moment later by Rasha. It was a simple matter of assigning danger factors to both targets. The racoon was more dangerous thus dealt with first...that said Roxanna was no fool. Of all of Sarath's 'closest' allies she was the smartest and most calculative. This was likely due to her age but also her nature. With a flick of her wrist a card loosed itself from the deck she held and tumbled into the air ahead of the skunk. As the shots neared her the card vanished like the previous ones, the shots suddenly bouncing off mid air and striking the ceiling and walls around the hanger. If one had watched closely it was clear that a faint wall had passed through the air. It was like a hot breeze in nature, hardly visible but there, like a shimmer in the air. With the shots dealt with Roxanna turned to Rasha. The fox was quick, she had to give her that, maybe a little too quick in fact. Still Roxanna was no fool, she knew the weakness of her magic lay in her cards and wasn't about to let them go that easily. As Rasha grabbed one of the cards in her left hand the right hand came round. Aiming the pointed end of the sai she carried right at Rasha's chest. ------------- Tanya was a little surprised by the sudden move and the hit connected with her thigh, knocking her off balance before she had a chance to grab Viper. Still it didn't seem to upset her too much, if anything it made her even more excited. "Yeah! That's more like it! It's boring when you don't fight back. Come on! I'll let you get up! Hey, you can even have a free shot...just be sure not to get fried!" As Tanya spoke the red glow that had been surrounding her arms changed colour, now turning yellow. A moment later a crackle ran across her forearms as they became encased in a field of electricity. -------------- Sonno would quickly find himself being jumped on by the second guard he had simply knocked over. It seemed like he should have killed him while he had the chance. Burner Samson on Jul. 08 2008,07:46 ((You'd think that a staff member of all people would know better than to make such overpowered characters as Roxxie here... I mean, how fun is it for the rest of us if our opponents are invincible?)) The raccoon either didn't notice or didn't care as his shots rebounded. He just kept closing in and fired two more shots as Burner's party watched. This time he was closer, so Roxanna would be lucky to have enough time to call her shield back. ((I'm assuming that the shield is gone by now, right?)) Burner didn't leave his position. He saw the bullets bounce off of apparently nothing. I get it. She used that card to summon a shield. Well, even if she summons it back, she can only have so many of any one card, right? And they can't all be shield cards; if she's the type I think she is, her deck is a balanced one. Damn, I was never any good at trading card games... He held his hands in front of him as if carrying something, and a fireball began to form. I wonder how many copyrights I'm infringing right now. Viper on Jul. 08 2008,14:46 You can't handle pain can you? The voice of Tia ran through Dan's mind. He recalled one of her training sessions where she pointed out his biggest problem. Her voice went on as he slowly got back up on his feet and looked at the polecat. It all well and good you know how to evade like a pro, but all I have to do is get one solid hit on you and its over. He remembered her words but even while training he wasn't able to take pain to the same level of Tia, she could fight after being shot over and over again, in fact that how he met her. He found her shot up and even then she was still resisting him helping her. I'm not expecting you to be like me but as long as you can't focus your sense somewhere else you will never do jack crap in a real battle. I remember this lesson. You can't get rid of the pain, you can only learn to put it to the side. Focusing all senses to the fight and not the pain. I could never do that very well. Dan straightened himself out a and brought up his good hand to rubbed his eyes for a moment, however after he wiped his eyes he left his had by his head before he switched out energy katar. The solid blade gained a blue aura of energy as it pointed to the sky. "We'll see." Dan took a step forward and spun around as going forward. his good arm in front of him as did one complete circle, gaining speed as he came up with a quick horitionzal strike. He cringed a bit as the pain from both her punch and his arm were still in his mind, despite his best efforts to stay focused. Rasha Tailor on Jul. 13 2008,11:37 Rasha had expected some sort of counter towards her thieving attempt. Nevertheless, she was surprised by the weapon suddenly fit in Roxanna's right fist and without amble time to dodge her way out of it, Rasha made to grip its hilt. She gagged as the metal pierced her flesh, burrowed dangerously close to her vitals. Blood dribbled from the open wounds from whatever recess it found. Her legs shook, almost crippling, at the invasive, painful feeling. But through blurry eyes, she could see that she'd got one. Rasha slowly, shakily raised her head back over her shoulder, a smirk of pride fitted on her face. Then, she focused her energy on the card and her target. Whatever the end result would be, Rasha wouldn't know. She blacked out right afterwards. Sarath Crescent on Jul. 13 2008,12:36 [Burner, these NPCs are supposed to be mini bosses, of course they are going to be powerful. You think its interesting for me if all I'm allowed to do it throw endless stupid goons at you and let you maim them all without breaking a sweat? Sorry but that's no fun for anyone. All of my NPCs have a glaring weakness that when you spot allows you to beat them almost immediately. Try looking for it instead of complaining.] Roxanna only got a moment to smile before it happened. She twisted her sai and yanked it from Rasha's body moments before she noticed what the vixen had done. The magical energy transferred to the card was more than she could control in the time frame. Her cards were already highly charged and needed her control in order to prevent them going off. The excess energy was enough to activate the spell card but with no control of direction. The energy simply cascaded and spread to the cards next to it. With a bright flash the cards erupted like a star. The unconcious Rasha and Roxanna were sent hurtling across the cargo bay, slamming into the opposite wall with a crash. Roxanna groaned loudly, her fur singed in places by the magical blast and her body aching. Slowly she reached into a pouch around her waist and drew out four cards that she had not been holding. With a little effort she set them off at once, the cards turning into a massive screen of magical energy that expanded across the entire cargo bay. A massive shield that in effect cut the cargo bay in two, Rasha and Roxanna on one side and the rest on the other. Roxanna did her best to smirk but it was obvious she was in pain. Still on the bright side the way to the transport ship Roxanna had mentioned was now clear and open. "You win this round...but you won't get far..." hissed Roxanna. --------------- Tanya grinned and waited for the strike. As it came in she hit the floor, the polecat ducking under it and swinging her legs round in a quick motion. With Viper's forward motion she was hoping he wouldn't have time to jump or sidestep as her leg swung round to try and take out his own. Burner Samson on Jul. 13 2008,13:25 ((I saw how the ultimate lifeform fared against one of your mini-bosses. It's hard to draw any other conclusion.)) The red wolf ran for Roxanna, but slammed into the energy barrier. (Burner) "Just forget them. Come on, let's go." Burner banged open the door to the main hangar. (Charlotte) "Do you really think there's a transport ship like she said, or was that just a trick?" (Burner) "We're about to find out. Ladies first." Jocelyne Takira on Jul. 15 2008,00:07 [Considering Rasha is now unconscious, feel free to skip my turn. ;D] Sonno Blackmore on Jul. 15 2008,18:41 Sonno fell to the ground with a THUD! The second guard had got him. He struggled to get out of his grasp, firing shots in random directions. "Lemme go you so called alien!" he shouted "the only true alien is a xenomorph!" The young hybrid freed his left arm and thursted his elbow up toward the Imperial's face. Viper on Jul. 17 2008,20:12 "Moron!" If on cue instead of going for the slash attack, as he saw her go down he hopped up, letting her sweep going under him while using the same rotation motion gathered before but instead of using his arms, he used his legs turing into a full wheel kick, not jumping high as the polecat was now at the perfect level for a low wheel kick. The best tactic is the one they don't expect. Sarath Crescent on Jul. 19 2008,13:38 Behind the barrier Roxanna smiled as Burner and his group moved away towards the hanger. They'd find a small unarmed landing craft in the hanger with just enough fuel to get them to the ground...providing they didn't crash it first. The controls seemed alien and slightly odd. Roxanna waited a moment and then slowly pulled herself to her feet, leaning heavily against the wall. Her balck furr was singed heavily and her lack of clothing had meant the explosion had caught a good deal of her person. Her right arm was obviously dislocated and hung limply by her side as she staggered over towards Rasha's unconcious form. "They won't get far...but you won't even get another meter!" she hissed as she approached. Stopping for a moment she aimed a very sharp kick as Rasha, slamming her foot into the vixen's chest. Roxanna staggered slightly and fell back against the wall. ---------------- "Xenomorph?" the guard was slightly taken aback by the comment. Just long enough in fact for Sonno's strike to land. There was a sickening crunch as his nose broke and he collapsed backwards off Sonno. The soldier was silent...and so was the corridor. ---------------- Tanya threw up her arms as she saw her slide miss. Moments later her forearms took the full impact of the kick and knocked her to the side. Yet she didn't seem to give up just let. As the kick landed she extended her claws and slid her arms down, latching onto Viper's leg with them and using the momentum of the strike to send them both tumbling to the floor. At the same time, the electric surge that had been formed around her arms was discharged through Viper's leg. Burner Samson on Jul. 19 2008,14:12 Somehow, Burner and his party (including Bret; he had woken up by now) all managed to fit into the vessel. Burner got out for a moment and found the switch that opened the bay doors; throwing it, he got back in again as the doors opened. For some reason, the raccoon had decided to pilot the thing. "You're sure you can handle this thing?" "It can't be too hard. Let's see, this should be the starter..." And he started the vessel. ((Next turn, I'm outta here)) Viper on Jul. 19 2008,19:46 Viper went down with the polecat but for him, it didn't turn out very well as the charge went through his leg. He gave out loud scream as the charge passed through his leg, which made the crash landing on his bad arm seem a minor problem compared to the shock pain he was receiving now. Damn...it... His vision went black as it appears he hit his threshold of pain. [Well, feel free to skip since I'm kind knock out.] Sarath Crescent on Jul. 22 2008,14:52 Soon enough a group of soldiers arrived in the hanger. They appeared ready to go after Burner and his group but Roxanna simply held up her hand to stop them. "Return this one to the cell block...our Lord may have fun playing with this one...and if he doesn't I will..." Two of the soldiers quickly picked up Rasha and carted her off. ------------------ On the outer hull Tanya slowly pulled herself to her feet. The fight hadn't been everything she had hoped for...but it had been a refreshing breather. "Maybe this planet was good to invade...heh!" She chuckled to herself, leaning over to grab Viper by the scruff of his shirt and dragging him back towards the lift that had brought her up to the deck. Burner Samson on Jul. 22 2008,17:23 "Okay, we're outta here!" The raccoon hit the throttle, and Burner and his party took off, free at last. For the moment anyway. (EXIT BURNER) Sonno Blackmore on Jul. 24 2008,17:39 "Yeah! A Xenomorph!" Sonno spat He got to his feet and bolted down the corridor, free from the guard's grasp. He seemed knocked cold for now, but soon enough the halls would be crawling with more guards. Sonno almost forgot what he was doing. "Gotta find my things, gotta find my things!" Sarath Crescent on Jul. 27 2008,05:05 [Alright, with Burner gone and Rasha and Viper unconcious that leaves just you Sonno. I had figured on moving this topic to Capitol but things aren't as progressed there as I would have hoped. So I'm open to suggestions on where you guys would like to take this.] Sonno Blackmore on Jul. 27 2008,11:56 [Whatever works with you chief.] Jocelyne Takira on Jul. 30 2008,08:56 [Well, Rasha is going to be out for it for a while yet. I'm just going to take a break with her until the dust has settled a little, as I've said before.] Viper on Jul. 30 2008,17:53 [My little plot I have planned can't really start till I'm awake anyway and I don't feel like waking up anytime soon... so ya.] Sarath Crescent on Aug. 01 2008,06:22 [Well let's just continue for now, I know Viper has plans and Yoli has mentioned she doesn't mind Rasha being out of it for a bit.] As Roxanna and the group of soldiers made their way down one of the ships corridors they met up with a familiar face. Tanya was waiting for them at an intersection, Viper's collar still firmly grasped in her paw. She smirked at Roxanna as she approached. "Looks like you had fun!" "Quiet!" hissed Roxanna, the panther bracing herself against the wall as she went. "Oh no need to snap," replied Tanya before nodding towards the unconcious form of Rasha, "That one do it?" "Yes, here, take her down to the cell block with your own and stick them in different cells." "Sure." Tanya quickly walked forwards, dragging Viper as she went and stopped next to Rasha...who the guards had dumped uncermoniously on the floor. Tanya spun, adjusted her grip on Viper and then grabbed Rasha in a similar way before heading off down the halls. Roxanna watched her leave for a moment and then headed off herself towards the medical bay. [Sonno, feel free to run into either party or the 'store' room to find your stuff. Choose your poison I guess. XD] Sonno Blackmore on Aug. 01 2008,06:34 Sonno crept through the halls oh so stealthly. Living on the streets of Radical City helps. "Hope Rasha's ok, she was in pretty bad shape," Reading every title on every door, Sonno eventually came along one that said "Store Room". Going through, he was led to two other doors. One said "Supplies" while the other said "Interplanetary Contraband". It was obvious, he opened the latter. Laying on the cold floor was his pack, his junk spilled out. He slid his things back into the pack and placed it over his shoulder. "I am complete again," Sarath Crescent on Aug. 10 2008,11:56 Just then Sonno would be able to hear footsteps coming down the corridor. The steps were irregular, as if the person they belonged to was limping...in fact this was quite true. They belonged to Roxanna, the jaguar on her way towards the ships medical bay. In her injured state and lack of any Imperial markings it would be hard to tell if she was a soldier or a civilian. Posted by Sonno Blackmore on Aug. 11 2008,12:25 Sonno cocked his head to the side. She was pretty, but more importantly she was hurt. He treaded lightly towards her. "Miss...are you ok?" Tia on Aug. 12 2008,22:15 [Sarath is aware of something like this was going to happen, as I told him a bit before. I also ask Sonno before starting this.] When Sonno went to move, he could hear the click of a safety and the barrel of a rifle lightly pushed ageist his backside. "Don't move." The voice was female, and loud enough to be heard by anyone nearby, if he glanced around her could see the outlines of the same armor most of the guards had and blue fur. Hope he doesn't do anything dumb Sonno Blackmore on Aug. 14 2008,15:57[/v] Sonno slowly raised his arms and groaned. Roxanna smirked at him, much to h [b]er pain. "Dammit!" thought Sonno, "I was so close to gettin' outta here!" Sarath Crescent on Aug. 19 2008,12:49 [Back from break. ^_^] Roxanna hadn't noticed Sonno at first, be as he was off the main corridor in a room. As he had approached and spoken she had looked up, catching a glimpse of the guard behind him, un-noticed by Sonno. Roxanna could help but smirk as the scene unfolded before her. "My my...what do we have here? Why...you must be another one who escaped with the group. Decided to go it alone did you? Not the wisest move ever...but certainly brave...or maybe fool-hardy. Still no matter, most of my playthings escaped...but you'll make a nice addition to the vixen who was left behind." She smirked again, glancing at the guard standing behind Sonno, "Good work...I'll see to it that our Lord knows about this." Tia on Aug. 21 2008,17:34 "Shall I take him to the brig?" Tia was pretty sure it was going to be yes. Roxanna didn't look like in any conidition to be taking over. The though of elimating her quickly came across her mind but that would be risky and expose her. She had to save that idiot of a hybird first, and 'saving people' was not her strong suit so she was wanting to play this safe. Sonno Blackmore on Aug. 21 2008,18:21 Sonno kept his hands up. Maybe some smooth talking would get him out of this. "Look, you're both women. Echidnas are well endowed and seeing how I'm half echidna..." He could feel the gun dig deeper into his back and quickly shut up. Sarath Crescent on Aug. 23 2008,14:54 Roxanna sneered at Sonno, glancing up at Tia for a moment, "Yes, take him back to his cell...and make sure its a VERY uncomfortable one." She quickly gave Sonno a look that most would have given a giant pile of snot. She then turned and headed off again in the direction of the med bay. Tia on Aug. 26 2008,12:49 She pushed the barrel into his back to start to get him to go the other way which Roxanna headed off in. She as she slowly marched him through the hallways to the brig, she glanced around for when wasn't anyone around. She spoke in a low tone of voice, so that even if a hearing device might be around it might be low enough to not make out. "If I poke you three times, hit the ground as fast as you can. Nod your head if you understand." They were coming to the brig soon and that was when hell was going to break free. Sonno Blackmore on Aug. 28 2008,17:09 Sonno slowly nodded his head, though he was still very confused. This woman ambushes him and now she's offering him help? "Who the hell are you?" he asked Tia on Aug. 28 2008,19:17 "Keep walking!" She shouted drown out his voice as they got closer to the brig. She spoke in a very low voice, low enough that the sound of the ship and their footsteps made it hard to hear. "I'll tell you later." If she didn't have to play as a guard she wouldn't mind answering, after they got out of this mess. They were in front of the brig as Tia opened the door with one hand and led Sonno in. She intentionally went to the brig that Viper and the other reported captured was sent too... even if it was farther away. "Move!" She made a somewhat noticable entrance as she bunted Sonno from behind to send him forward into the brig area. She did it to keep her roll but more so that she would get the attention of the jailor. Sarath Crescent on Aug. 30 2008,12:02 From round a corner a crackled chuckle could be heard. A moment later a knarled looking rat stepped out. His grin was a little wonky and one of his eyes was missing, a huge scar stretching up the side of his face. It was evident he had been in a lot of fights prior to his current post. "Got another huh?" he asked in a low croaking voice that sounded like he had smoked one too many cigars, "So that makes 3 eh? Pity the others got away, I always enjoy watching the things squirm when they get pitted against each other. Find a cell and stick him in." [b]Sonno Blackmore on Aug. 30 2008,16:59 Sonno stumbled into the small cell. Back to square one. He was still confused by this girl's intentions. Was she one of them, or there to help? "And here I thought vixens were supposed to be the goddesses of furries," he thought Tia on Aug. 30 2008,17:17 [Hey! Not yet!] As Tia walked right in front of the jailor and the mid-stride, she dropped the rifle. The hand that had been holding the barrel of the gun flicked something right at the jailor's neck, a long and sharp needle. Tia perfer a blade but that would take to long to draw and at this distance her normal skill level with the needle wouldn't be a issue, after all experts can aim for vitals at insane range and Tia was pretty sure she could manage it only a yard away, it wouldn't be that impressive considering the range but at least she could be sure that it was very unlikely to miss its mark and would far quicker then attempting to draw her blades. The gun finally hit the ground after the needle was thrown. Sarath Crescent on Sep. 02 2008,06:52 The jailer wasn't even paying attention to Tia as she walked past, he was snickering at Sonno. When his life ended he didn't even know it but for a split second as the needle penetrated his skin under his chin. He hit the floor a moment later, blood leaking from a thin hole around the needle now imbedded in his brain. Sonno Blackmore on Sep. 05 2008,17:10 "Ok! That's it, you gots some 'plainin to do!" Ever still confused, Sonno wished to know about this mystery woman and why she just killed a superior. Hell, he just wanted to get off the ship and end the war. It was one of those situations where you want to rethink your life. Tia on Sep. 05 2008,17:19 "I'll gladly tell you my life story AFTER we are out of here." She didn't bother to pick up the gun again. She walked over to the guard, taking his key card and swiping it quickly at the cell holding what appeared to be a human. She threw the card at Sonno carelessly as she walked right into the cell without a second through and almost intentionally kicked him in the side of the face followed by a clear stomp on the ground behind him. "GET UP!" Viper on Sep. 05 2008,17:24 The impact to his face was enough to wake him up but the quickest thing to wake him up as when Tia slammed her foot into the base of his tail. "AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Viper shot upward, only to quickly find himself falling back down as he didn't have balance. The point still he was holding his black tail as the pain started to numb a bit. The taste of blood in his mouth from the clear kick to his face. He was at first surprised by the blue kitsune in front of him and then it hit him who it was. "Tia!?" She wracked him across the head, not as painful as the kick but enough. "Idiot!" She wracked him again. Viper attempted to get up now, with a bit of diffculty but managed it. Sarath Crescent on Sep. 08 2008,05:55 Roxanna sat in the ships medical bay being tended to by a female squirrel. She had suffered quick a bad array of burns from the magical explosion but not as bad as it could have been. She twitched continually, refusing to show any other signs of pain as her attendant bandaged her burns following her treatment. Presently the squirrel stepped back with a short bow, Roxanna wasting no time as she slipped back onto the floor. She growled almost immediately, her burns still painful to put weight on. At roughtly the same time Tanya walked into the room, the polecat having a serious face for once. "Our Lord has requested our immediate attendence. Seem the occupants of this world are launching a fairly heavy attack on our foothold," she said as Roxanna straightened herself up. "HA! Resistence eh? Our Lord has nothing to fear...yet if he has summoned we will go. What's our arrival time?" "Not long, another 30 minutes perhaps and we'll be in visual range." "It will be so nice to see our Lord again." Roxanna smiled warmly, despite her seemingly cruel and harsh exterior she cared about Sarath. "Well we should get the prisoners ready to transport then. The rest we can load onto transports later but I want to take that vixen with me! I'm sure our Lord will enjoy watching her die." "Taking souviners huh? Well I'm gonna take that funny one with me too. He was all beat up when we fought but he was fun. Should prove to be a good bit of sport once he's all healed up." Roxanna chuckled, Tanya's idea of sport was not normal by any definition. "Let's go and collect our souviners then." Tia on Sep. 09 2008,22:51 [Absense Rule!] "Next time you go all heroic is the LAST time you go heroic! I will NOT bail your ass out of the fire next time!" Tia was annoyed and pissed cause despite all she taught him he still did something a dumb ass would do. If it had been the old her she would have never done anything. She was sort of glad though at least he seemed good enough to move. She was really worried that she would have to drag him while fighting her way off the ship a concept that would have been rather diffcult to pull off. "You going to let the other captives free or not?" She directed it at Sonno, who he had passed the key card to for a reason. [HINT HINT!] Viper on Sep. 09 2008,23:01 He did feel bad cause looking back what he did was reckless and clearly pushing his own limit with his abilities. He went to walk with Tia out of the cell noticing the world was tilted to him that and his balance was off as if his own body just didn't want to function. Damn it! Why now!? His arm was still killing him and he could feel a burn on his leg, but more then that he felt like it was a battle with his own body to just walk straight. The feeling of need to focus just tell a limb to move forward. the attention needed to 'balance' his own weight, a normal thing that the body would have normally done iself without him even thinking. My mediciation... its wearing off. This was possibly the worse time to for it to start to wear off. The further the medicition wore off the harder it would be to control himself. If it wore off completely he would literally have to focus with all his might just to be able to walk. They need to leave fast, or at least before he lost the ability to run. He moved his good arm a bit to make sure he still have some control and his arm moved, resisting a bit but still moving. Good, I'm slowed down but at least I can still move my limbs pretty good... for now. Sarath Crescent on Sep. 19 2008,06:17 The bandaged Roxanna and Tanya made their way through the ships bowls towards the cell block. It wasn't a long journey but it was conducted in silence. Roxanna didn't talk much unless she had too and Tanya seemed content to simply crack her finders. As they entered the cell area though they both stopped, something wasn't right. It was quiet there was an odd smell on the air. Roxanna, having a keener sense of smell than Tanya worked it out first. "Blood!" she hissed. Tanya quickly started looking around as if trying to find something to beat up, "Think the weird one has had a litle too much fun with the prisoners?" "By the smell of it I'd say the prisoners are having fun with him..." Tanya grinned, "Hehehehe! I wonder if the bald one is up for round 2?" "You may have something else to beat up." They hurried along, rounding the final corner and stopping dead just as Tia wandered from the cell. Tanya leped forwards immediately, the mongoose always eager and ready for a fight regardless of who it was. It didn't phase her that Tia was wearing a guards uniform in the slightest, even if she wasn't a traitor she could do as she pleased given her high status. Roxanna simply smiled, "So a traitor appears..." she murmured to herself. Tia on Sep. 23 2008,17:20 "Really?" Tia wasn't suprised too much by being caught, they were going to be anyway the second they walked out the door and based on the voice. "Last time I checked, I would have had to been working for you to be a 'traitor'." She walked outside the cell, taking note that it was two to one. She was pretty sure that she was going to pushed to her limit. She drew her scissor katar into both hands, as they had been cleverly hidden behind her back under the uniform. She ripped it straight off, revealing a dark blue jack under it. "Lets be direct shall we?" A very faint feeling of magic was gathering about a few feet in front of Tia. Viper on Sep. 23 2008,17:57 ****... its her again. He would have loved for a rematch if he was in shape for it but likely if he fought now he would only be a target. He couldn't move at his full speed and really that was his strength in combat, without he at a disadvantage. He looked at his katars, one of them had a dead battery cause of the battle before and his bad arm had the one that still had power. He could still use them as physical blades but reality was really didn't have time or strength left to fight. His arm, legs, and shoulder were pretty banged up. He pretty much would just have to avoid fighting right now. Damn it I can't help like this! Sarath Crescent on Sep. 27 2008,13:38 [Moving on...cue FF10 battle music. XD] Tanya hadn't waited for words or actions, she was already into the battle. Her arms erupted into bright red and orange flames as she had jumped, her own magic needing no charge time due to its type. She was already aiming a blow down at Tia as she drew her weapons. Roxanna smiled to herself...this is where her magic came into its own. Despite her injuries she still had strength...and providing there was no close range dodging involved she was quite capable of throwing off spell cards as and when she needed. This is just what she did, drawing two cards from her belt and flicking them off to the side. "Purge...!"A sudden and suppressive feeling began to fill the room as Roxanna's Purge spell started to take effect. A slow moving but ultimately powerful suppression move that absorbed magic and nullified it. While this would also have an effect on Tanya it would be less due to the inherent nature of her magic. Sonno Blackmore on Sep. 27 2008,16:03 [School's a bitch] With the battle as a diversion, Sonno ran through the prison hall unlocking the many cells. Prisoners began to run from their holding areas and rush the corridors. "Be free!" Viper on Sep. 27 2008,17:01 I can't take the fighter but..! Viper shift past Tia and Tanya, bring up his only good arm as he focused on Roxanna. He wasn't sure of her full abilities but she clearly didn't look at full strength herself. He was still able to move and fight somewhat, but in truth he didn't know how long that would last at this point. He had never gone this long without his medication and his abilities would slowly stop the drop the longer he waited. I'm at least going to do something! Tia on Sep. 27 2008,17:17 My magic nulled huh? It isn't my strength anyway. Tia brought her weapons into an X-block as she stopped the attack in its track. The blades sparked a bit as it appears the magic is having an effect on them. They sparked a bit. Tia could feel the pressure and heat but she didn't really show any sign that she was being phazed by the attack, likely cause her threshold of pain was far above the normal. She noticed moving up her right was Viper so, she was going to make sure he got through. She spun right making sure she was between him and Tanya, but more odd was that during the spin her left scissor katar went flying straight for Roxanna, point aimed right at her body. She knew how to deal with this type of combo and fighting Tanya was not the answer. "Focus on the mage!" |

RE: Belly of the Beast
Giving a groan, Roxanna let herself almost fall to the side, the katar narrowly missing her as it flew past. She ended up on the floor either way though, giving a small cry as her burnt body hit the floor. She could see Viper approaching and, while he didn't look in good condition, she knew that he would still be able to hurt her if he got close. Shuffling back she drew another card, flicking it out to the side as the magic activated. "Slow!" Viper would begin to feel his body becoming somewhat more heavy than normal.
Tanya jumped back and landed with a thud on the floor. Glancing at Roxanna quickly she noticed her landing but knew she'd have to deal with that herself. Flicking her head back a crackling sound filled the air as the fire on her hands was replaced by ice. She a gleeful smile she leaped at Tia again, throwing another punch in her direction. |

RE: Belly of the Beast
[Ok I'm posting again, sorry o cut this short but its almost wrap up time.]
"ALERT ALERT...PARTICLE CANNON DETONATION CONFIRMED AT TARGET DESTINATION! SUGGEST CAUTION ON APPROACH!" The computer message caused both Tanya and Roxanna to pause momentarily. A particle explosion could only mean one thing. "We haven't got time to mess around with these two..." thought Roxanna to herself. "Computer! Seal all doors to prison block 9, prepare arour ejection sequence! Initiate!" she yelled. "Confirmed, prison block 9 now sealed, jettison in 5 seconds." confirmed a voice. Tanya heard the call, jumping back from Tia and sprinting at full pelt towards Roxanna...but not before she aimed a solid punch at Viper's back as he staggered forwards. Roxanna had already drawn a new card, flicking it into the air as Tanya arrived at her side. There was a shimmer behind her and, as the pair stepped backwards, they both vanished from sight. "Jettison in two...one...ejecting!" The whole block Tia, Viper and Sonno were in suddenly jolted, moving a moment later as an entire section of the ship slid from the hull and began to fall to the ground. Roxanna and Tanya meanwhile stepped out into one of the ships corridors, the shimmer fading from view as they did. Looking at each other for a moment they started to run towards the bridge as fast as they could. [Exit Sarath's ships...] |

RE: Belly of the Beast
Millions of thoughts racing through his mind, Sonno didn't think of what to do next. He frantically ran through the corridors with the other prisoners. The ship (or at least a part of it) was falling to Earth...to their deaths.
