RE: Why'd it get quiet all of a sudden?
I'm down with a reset, if it's not too much trouble. I don't want to bring in my villian if I can't be sure of all the nuances going on behind the scenes, and there are simply too many details beyond my grasp to use plot twists effectively.
May I suggest we finish off what we're doing now, and then trigger a paradox event that resets the timeline? (DC does this all the time.) That way, we might even make it so that one or two characters are aware of the timeline resetting. (For instance, Shaz's universe is not fully integrated with the shattered universe, therefore his timeline [which is rooted in his own universe] would be unable to fully reset. Also, he could have his shuttle back. It could make for a more interesting approach.) Anyhow, I'm having fun with this, so whatever you decide, I'd be down either way. My Profile |

RE: Why'd it get quiet all of a sudden?
*shrugs* I dunno. I'm looking forward to our unfolding plotlines. I remember when I first showed up in Capital city with the F4 festival, I was just jumping into a plotline I knew little about, but it worked out relatively alright. The beauty of it was that my character wouldn't know really what's all going on beforehand, so he acts more naturally instead of in a manner that hints that his motivations are what they are because the one guiding his actions knows somewhat what was going on.

RE: Why'd it get quiet all of a sudden?
So far it sounds like we've got one in favor of a reset (Shaz), one who is neutral (Tails), and one who wants to keep the existing plotline (Echo). Myself, I feel like I'm leaning between neutral and keep the existing plotline.
But it is good to know your comments, everyone. It sounds like the real problem is that newer players are afraid of contradicting the plot that has come before. Mind you, nobody's really going to mind if you make an accidental mistake. At worst, someone will just tell you to change your post. Usually if we spot a plot hole too late (after a few other people have posted), we just roll with it since it'd be too hard to go back and change it. Remember that this world exists only in our imaginations, so it's as flexible as we need it to be ![]() For example Shaz, when you posted in Robotropolis, you make references to there still being electric power. The power's actually out in the city due to the attack from the shadow beasts. But I let it go since it wasn't a big deal, and it'd be too much of a pain to get people to change their posts. Besides, we can always assume that some backup generator somewhere kicked in. Again, this world is powered by our imagination and thus it's very flexible. With that being said, there could be things we can do to help people know what the canon is here. My first thought is to have a Cliff's Notes version of the RP's plotline in a place where anyone can glance at it. Shaz, didn't I write you one when you first got here? It'd be good if some other veterans contributed to it, since that summary was written only from my memory and no one else's. My biggest concern about doing a reset is that it would be a big project. And it wouldn't just be for me, but everyone on the board would have work to do too. I'd definitely need assistance from others to get this done. Off the top of my head, these are things that I know would need to get done for a reset: - All the old roleplay topics would need to get put into archive - Everybody would need to reapply since everyone would have to redo their backstories to comply with the new timeline. I'd probably do something to help speed reapplication though. - We'd need to decide what changes (if any) we want to make to the settings and factions. I'd be willing to take input from anyone, including newcomers. There's not that many of us here so I don't think it'd be hard for everyone to share their opinion. - We'd need to come up with a storyline to explain the paradox and reset too. Again, input from anyone on the board is welcome. |

RE: Why'd it get quiet all of a sudden?
Sorry for the late imput.
Throwing my two cents in, or nickels since we don't have pennies up here anymore, (Snark Canada) I would kind of like to keep the present story line. 1 - it's a bit of a pain rewriting all those characters again. 2 - I kind of like how things are developing for my characters as they stand, though I would love to see Rampage get more play time. 3 - I REALLY am looking forward to a Tails / Sonic / Mammoth show-down ![]() That said, I could really start doing more to get things rolling in Solenna. Just haven't seen the others besides Zyra hanging about much yet. If you guys want to get things rolling again, give me a shout. Also, if you'd like to discuss plot-points or suggestions feel free to either PM me or post suggestions here in this thread. |

RE: Why'd it get quiet all of a sudden?
I hate to be the one to admit this, but in the last little while I have kinda gotten the turn order mixed up. In doing so I have lost track of when I should be posting. If anyone could just let me know who i am after that would be awesome.
PS Chadin, everyone knows pennies are so 2013. Dimes are the new penny. Love Canada's economic choices, not really. |

RE: Why'd it get quiet all of a sudden?
Speaking of coins, Japan still uses a ¥1 coin as I discovered. It's basically their version of the penny. I only ever think I got to use it one time though
![]() I thought I should mention while you guys are here. Sonic has PMed me saying that he's involved in a play at his school, and it's hard for him to find free time these days. So I guess consider that an abscence notice. He didn't say when he'd be back though, only that he'd be posting as fast as he could once he had the time. |

RE: Why'd it get quiet all of a sudden?
Well, sad to hear Sonic's otherwise busy. But at least we know to carry on till he's back. Hope he's able to come back soon. We seem to go through far too many Cannon players around here.

RE: Why'd it get quiet all of a sudden?
It's spelt "canon", Chadin. And tonight's the last night of my play, so I'll be back posting tomorrow. Just thought I'd quickly update you all on my situation. I haven't abandoned you all.

RE: Why'd it get quiet all of a sudden?
Sorry I haven't been on much, life is starting to get busy. I am soon to graduate, and I just got a job, so I need to focus on that for now. My chances to get out for WiFi are few and far between, so it will be a while before I can get really active again. (At least a month)
Sorry again, I promise to have something good when I get back. My Profile |
