Appearance: Tails is a small orange (with white stomach and chest, muzzle, and tail tips.) fox. Approx 80cm (2.7') weighing in at 20kg (~40lbs). He wears red and white sneakers with white gloves and socks both with fastener straps to keep them in place.


Personality: Tails personality was forged through a variety of factors. Due to his troubled past with bullies, Tails grew up with a complex about acceptance. Often causing him to second guess his decisions or even shy away from confrontation. As he grew older with the help of Sonic and later other friends, Tails has had a huge boost in confidence allowing him to step up to the plate in dire situations, only faltering under the harshest of extremes. Once hated Tails' namesakes have become an integral part of him and arguably his greatest asset. Even those that would mock him grudgingly admit their usefulness. As a side note Tails emotions are incredibly easy to read because of his expressive nature. His tails, ears, and eyes being the easiest tells. This makes him a terrible liar, only being able to tell simple fibs without getting caught.

Tails intelligence has also helped shape his personality. While his humble nature will have him glance over his brilliance there are occasions when he may make small remarks when fishing for praise. Also because of his past Tails sometimes seeks attention simply to justify to himself his usefulness. While it is apparent that he is brilliant he does like to hear it sometimes.

Being a child still does carry some flaws however. Since his intelligence is far beyond his years he does tend to sometimes over think problems or forget crucial details. This can lead to indecisiveness or causing even larger problems. This however is only an issue when under duress. While Tails' intelligence helps him in almost every academic field it does little in terms of curbing his childishness. Tails will often find humour or disgust in adult situations when none should be there. Such as giggling when strange noises are made or yelling out when he sees someone kissing.

Lastly Tails has several quirks that can't be traced to a source by his friends. Many of these however can be attributed to the invasion of Coca Island by the Battle Bird Armada before Tails met Sonic or any of the others. During the invasion Tails was forced to witness and fight against atrocities. In several instances killing the invaders with the use of his Glove Bombs. The explosions and flashes caused by the BBA weapons and his own have caused Tails to suffer from acute astraphobia and a very mild form of PTSD. This can lead to irritability and anti social behaviour when memories of the past surface.


Family: Tails has little knowledge and no memory of his family. After several years together, Tails now considers Sonic to be his only real family


Transport: Over the years, Tails has accumulated a large number of vehicles. Most or of his own design and construction however the original Tornado was given to him by Sonic.

Tornado III/Cyclone: The Tornado III/Cyclone is very similar to the Tornado II in plane mode. It differs however in its two other modes. First the Cyclone can change into a car for fast pursuit in urban terrain. This vehicle does not have access to weapons as Tails does not believe in use of excessive firepower in the direct vicinity of civilians. Finally the Cyclone has the ability to become walking mech on par with that of Dr. Robotnik/Eggman. This machine houses some of Tails' best weapon systems allowing him to lock onto and destroy several targets simultaneously with the use of the “Vulcan Cannon”. A vehicle mounted weapon designed by Tails to counter the threat of larger machines and direct confrontation with Dr. Robotnik. This weapon does however require a lock onto a electronic signature to fire. Making it all but useless against organic targets.


Weapons: Generally Tails will use his own martial prowess however he does have some weapons for use in certain situations.

Glove Bombs: These are small explosives hidden in the cuff of Tails left glove. Once armed they will detonate on contact of any surface. Despite always wearing this weapon Tails rarely uses it as it reminds him of the atrocities he witnessed on Cocoa Island. These may also be the reason for his astaphobia. These devices were created for controlled demolition meaning that they do an incredible amount of damage to a small point. When used on organic matter the result is usually lethal.

Miles Electric: Tails can use this small computer to great effect in the field. Using it to hack computer systems and machines with ease. It also has several functions that allow Tails to remotely control any of his machines in range.

Twin Tails: Tails namesakes are incredibly versatile in combat, being able to bash object with enough force to crush them. Tails can also sharpen them to slice clean through anything from metal to rock. This is also how Tails emulates Sonic's “Spindash”

Chaos Research: Tails has learned to turn Chaos energy into a weapon. Using on of his fake Chaos Emeralds, Tails can create a massive pulse of destructive energy that is harmful to everything in it's vicinity. This has yet to be tested on full scale because it is being developed in secret. It's uses are limited by the number of fake Chaos Emeralds that Tails has with him and by the fact that overloading the Emeralds destroys them instantly. Due to the volatility of the energies being harnessed, the emeralds must be overloaded remotely. Limiting it's use as an absolute demolition device. The Emeralds require a huge amount of energy and time to manufacture both in amounts that Tails does not have access to on a regular basis. The likelihood of injury to teammates or himself also hinders the usefulness of this weapon. The fake emeralds can only be manufactured by slowly extracting energy from a real Chaos Emerald, refining, then placing within the fake emeralds. This process can only be done at Tails workshop as the equipment needed is very specialized.

Miscellaneous: When the need arises Tails is not above using whatever is on hand as a weapon. Be it a wrench or a rock if he needs to he will use it to bludgeon an enemy machine.

Final note: Tails will look for any alternative to using lethal force against an organic opponent however if the need arises he does know how to land a finishing blow.


Biography: Tails spent his early childhood on Cocoa Island living near a small village. Tails has no recollection of his family what-so-ever and has simply grown up knowing the things he needed to survive. Maintaining a small home/workshop on the south shore of Cocoa Island and living of food foraged from the forest and the sea. Around the age of four the Battle Bird Armada (BBA) invaded the island and proceeded to destroy everything in their path in the search for the Chaos Emeralds. This lead to many deaths and the destruction of much of the islands infrastructure and natural resources. Forced to defend himself, Tails used surplus munitions taken from dead islanders or stolen from the BBA to create weapons and machines in an effort to fight the invaders back off his home. During the proceeding battles, Tails came across the Chaos Emeralds. Not yet able to fully use there power, Tails did use them to augment himself in order to fight the BBA. The augmentations came in the for of increased speed, strength, and stamina as well as incredible durability. Unknown to all but the survivors of Cocoa Island, Tails was actually the first of the heroes to collect all seven Emeralds (Sonic only managed six on South Island). In the end Tails managed to force the BBA off of Cocoa Island and scatter the emeralds once again. For his efforts Tails was rewarded with a crippling fear of loud noises and flashes, chronic nightmares, and the next year of his life being one he would rather forget. If the invasion of Cocoa Island had never happened then Tails would not have met Sonic and for that he wouldn't change anything.

After the BBA surrendered, Tails realized that Cocoa Island was nothing but a ruin and would need years to even be considered habitable again. Leaving anything he couldn't carry, Tails loaded himself and some choice possessions onto the Sea Fox and set sail for the nearest piece of land. Upon making landfall in Westside Island, Tails set up a home in the forests of Emerald Hill Zone. Shortly after he became the subject of torment by local bullies, who delighted in destroying his possessions and beating him up. Due to the trauma caused by the BBA invasion and his own actions in the fighting, Tails simply allowed them to continue without defending himself, which would have been a simple matter. After two years of this a blue hedgehog played unwilling witness to one of these incidents quickly intervening on behalf of the fox who was barely conscious. Upon finding out that he was an orphan the hedgehog offered to take Tails away from this place and give him a home. Tails quickly accepted.

With the ghosts of his past finally put behind him, Tails began the difficult task of repairing the damage caused by his childhood. With the help of Sonic, Knuckles, Amy and others, Tails was able to grow into a well rounded individual. However he is now noticing that things are never going to change unless something is done about Robotnik besides destroying his robots and letting him run away. This is leading to an internal conflict where his old self is telling him that a more permanent solution may be needed and his current self is telling him to trust Sonic's way of fighting the doctor.


Moves/Combat Style: Tails usually uses his own body as a weapon but is not above using explosive or even bludgeoning tools in order to keep his friends safe.

Tails Spindash: Like Sonic, Tails can launch himself at opponents and slice through them or knock them over. Unlike Sonic however Tails can still get dizzy from prolonged use of this move.

Tail Slam: Swinging both his namesakes like a club, Tails can cause immense damage to objects that are hit with this attack. This move cannot be used during flight and if used too often can make flight very painful for Tails.

Miles Electric: Used more as a force multiplier, Tails can use this machine in combat to fry an opponents electrical system or even take control of a mechanical opponent for a short time. This is limited by both battery life and the machines programming. The smarter the bot the less likely the control will work. The EMP-like effect is also limited but the machines complexity. Simple systems will be blown out for weeks while more complex systems will only suffer slight malfunctions or no effect at all.

Bomb Glove: This weapon holds the most baggage with Tails. Using a small explosive Tails can cause incredible damage to a small point. These weapons detonate on impact with any object and therefore must be used with extreme caution. These weapons are limited to only a few uses due to storage constrains and Tails own animosity towards them only allowing him to stomach a few uses before his astraphobia starts to set in. There is also the chance of friendly fire

Turbo Tails: With the power of all seven Chaos Emeralds, Tails is able to obtain a super form like Sonic and Knuckles. As with Sonic and Knuckles, Tails super form increases all of his physical attributes several fold. It also grants him limitless stamina and near invulnerability.



Skills:

Flight: Tails most unique physical skill in his ability to fly even though he is a fox. This is done by spinning his namesakes at an incredible velocity and angling them as a helicopter would. Tails is very agile in the air and can make great speed. His stamina, however will not allow him to keep it up for extended periods of time. Tails can also use this technique on the ground to propel himself forward instead of up. This allows him to be able to keep up with Sonic for as long as his stamina allows.

Intelligence: Tails is arguable the most intelligent individual on the planet. Being matched only by Dr. Robotnik. This allows him to have a masters grasp on almost every field from Robotics to Medicine and from Engineering to Botany and everything in between. Because of his age however this intelligence is not used to anywhere near it's full capacity. Like Robotnik, Tails often makes mistakes on his first prototypes. Unlike the doctor, Tails tries to avoid taking untested equipment into the field.


Strengths:

Critical Thinking: While Sonic has his speed and Knuckles has Strength, Tails can think faster than anyone. When not under extreme circumstances Tails can come up with amazing solutions to complex problems before some even realize the problem even exists.

Senses: Being a fox and spending much of his life living off the land, Tails has become incredibly adept at detecting the faintest sights, sounds, and smells. He is able to pinpoint a large amount of detail from these faint traces.


Weaknesses:

Astraphobia: During his time fighting the BBA, Tails has found loud noises and bright lights to be intolerable. If he knows that these are going to happen he now has the resolve to push past them, however if he is surprised by them then his reactions can range from nervousness to full blown panic depending on other factors.

PTSD: Tails suffer from mild PTSD which when agitated causes irritability and antisocial behaviour. This can go as far as making Tails snap at people or even become dangerously violent towards enemies.
