RE: Robotropolis airspace
Quote:"Wait...I know that guy with the nuke gun!" Augustine waved his finger out the window, as he looked back at the others. "His name is Trigger. Last time I saw him he was a part of F4. And it wasn't because he hated humans. He just loves killing and violence no matter who or what he does it to. He's the reason I ended up leaving F4 all those years ago. I saw him...I saw him..." The raptors, excluding Era, stare at Nail in shock a moment, mouths agape. "whoa.....sounds like that guy needs to be put down. I vote we put him down while we've got the opportunity. Me and Nail could go down and take him on." Amiroo said gripping his weapon. "You guys go place the beacon, we can meet up later, hopefully before the rebels show up." Quote:"Why don't we just fly the ship to Robotnik's HQ and plant the beacon, like we talked about doing earlier? We might have decided it was too risky before, but I don't think that's a problem now. It looks like Robotnik's too busy with the rioting to pay attention to us anyway. That would give us more time to help the civilians escape on the ground, like Nail wants to do. Since they're all out in the streets it'll be easier to do than it would have been otherwise. We don't know what those black things were before, but the enemy fleet in space is still going to show up regardless of what's happening down here. Best we just get to work." Era continued to circle the craft over the battlefield below. "I don't know about splitting up, we may never be able to regroup in time. I think Gichii is right, maybe we should just do what we came here to do. Then we can come back and take care of that murderer down there and anything else we may need to do." Era said. "And leave him to kill people while we're busy!" Amiroo exclaimed, "we should do something while we've got the chance!" Quote:"should we be placing a beacon here if it's filled with those you want to keep safe? It seems a very counter-productive strategy given the current situation." "unfortunately we have no choice SOLIS, we have to place it here to get Robotnik and the rebels to engage one another. Unfortunately these people will get caught in the middle. But if we can get aboard that ship, we can seize control of it." Amiroo said, a tinge of regret in his voice. It was clear he didn't like this either. But what choice did they have? That ship was key to everything at the moment. "I'm willing to bet that if they're able to navigate the stars again there's probably been significant progress towards remapping the galaxy. They'll probably have charts with the new coordinates of republic held space. We could possibly call for backup from our side and even this fight up." Era said. "Even if we do, it'll take a better part of week to get here if they're more than 500 light-years out." Amero said. "Could we hold them off for a week?" Rye asked skeptically. "Maybe. If we could get that ship, we could use it as a force multiplier. It'll have 3D printers with enough raw material to equip an medium sized army. We could get the ship, print out weapons, and hand them out. With the Mobians numbers, and our tech, we could probably hold them off long enough for our fleet to arrive and take care of business." Amiroo said with a smirk. "whoa, handing over tech to the Mobians? That's extremely dangerous in and of itself." Era said disapprovingly. "It is, but we probably won't have a choice in the matter. We don't have the numbers to repel an invasion. The Mobians are going to have to hold their own until our people can mobilize to protect them." "But still, what of the long term consequences?" "Whatever those will be, I'm pretty sure it's a lot better than extinction." "What about the weapon? Couldn't we use it to repel an invasion?" "....technically, yes. But I don't think that would be a wise move." "why? It's powerful enough to deal a good blow against a carrier group." "True, but if we choose to use it, instead of destroy it, then there's the possibility that we and that ship could be captured. That would be a nightmare. Surely the end of 'this' world. On top of that, we have only a vague idea where it is." "Look guys, we can consider that later. Lets just focus on getting aboard the rebel ship first. Then, we can worry about the weapon. What are we doing, staying together or splitting up?" Tybe said. "What are we doing here guys?" Era asked. |

RE: Robotropolis airspace
Nail's mouth started as a frown, but slowly twisted into a snarl as he continued to glance back and forth between the raptors and out the window. It looked like Trigger had stopped shooting for the moment, but no doubt it would start up all over again soon. The longer they stood around here and talked, the more civilians that Trigger would kill.
"Listen! This is all important stuff, but just send me down now! It won't take me long to get rid of him. I can catch up later with a radio, if you give me one." Meanwhile, Era might see something at the edge of the city. Something huge started to appear, as it slowly began to rise up from behind the skyscrapers. |

RE: Robotropolis airspace
Giichi stood off to the side, listening to what everyone had to say about planting the beacon.
"How much time do we have left before the rebels get here? It'd probably take at least a day or two to make serious headway on evacuating the citizens. And that's assuming they decide to listen to us and Robotnik doesn't interfere." However, he couldn't help but notice the huge object start to appear on the horizon, through the front window. He turned his head to look, not feeling good about the sight at all. If they had binoculars or zoom capability, one could make out that it was the front of the Egg Carrier. "Say...you guys see that thing over there? I don't know what it is, but I think it's bad news." |

RE: Robotropolis airspace
Terrador took note of the aircraft and he had no idea what to make of it. Perhaps once it got closer and he could get a better veiw of it, perhaps he'd get an idea. After all, it was nothing like he'd seen before. Right now, he wanted out and actually work to accomplish something.
"Is there anything you wish for me to do?" He asked his comrades, loud enough so everyone could here. All of their talk had confused the echidna and he honestly had no idea what the plan was. He kept hearing something about a beacon, whatever that was. Perhaps he could assist with it. |

We need to quit goofing around here, and do what we came to do." Era said. Quote:"Listen! This is all important stuff, but just send me down now! It won't take me long to get rid of him. I can catch up later with a radio, if you give me one." Quote:"Say...you guys see that thing over there? I don't know what it is, but I think it's bad news. Era looked on in horror as the egg carrier approached. She wasn't sure whether Robotnik would be able to see their craft or not. They needed to not be here when he arrived. They needed to move....LIKE NOW!!! "Alright! I'm putting you and Nail on the ground. We'll plant the transmitter, you better know what you're doing Amiroo!" Era yelled over the roar of the engines as she quickly dove the craft for the ground not far from where Rampage was on the ground. "I'm gonna put you on the street." She said as she leveled the craft into a hover above an intersection, just around the corner from where Rampage was. Amiroo unfastened himself from his seat belt and retrieved his weapon. As he did so, Era opened the back hatch, revealing a universe of chaos beyond. Smoke billowed from various nearby buildings. Gunshots and explosions could be heard in the distance from various directions, seemingly all around them. "Lets do it Nail!" Amiroo said as he jumped the short distance from the ramp to the pavement. He immediately found cover behind a turned over SUV, plasma rifle at the ready, while he waited for Nail to join him. "Good luck Nail! We'll meet you when we're done with the transmitter. Amiroo has a radio. Don't get killed, and don't let Amiroo get killed either. I'm counting on you!" Era yelled over the roar of the crafts engines. Quote:"Is there anything you wish for me to do?" "You're free to go with Nail and Amiroo if you like, or you can come with us to plant the transmitter. Either way, I can't guarantee your survival." Era replied. |

RE: Robotropolis airspace
When Giichi mentioned he saw something in front of their ship, he briefly felt himself locked in place. A cold chill rushed down his spine. He was about to jump out of this aircraft, into the fighting on the streets, and Robotnik was going to probably be here within a few minutes. Would Era and the others even be able to find him again once he got mixed up in the business down there? It was only now that he realized the full weight of his decision. Time felt like it was standing still, as he stared at the open hatch.
So what's it gonna be Nail? Do you still think it'll be worth it stopping Trigger? Amiroo jumped out of the ship, as Nail watched him go. Goddamnit... His body turned him towards the hatch to follow Amiroo, although his mind still felt torn. After a few light steps though, he decided to throw caution to the wind and follow the raptor. After all, did he really want Amiroo to be alone down there in that mess? Nail quickly rushed down the hatch and hopped to the pavement, stopping beside the car the raptor hid behind. [I think Amiroo and Nail should transfer to the Chaos Within topic. I will post as Nail when it's my turn again in that topic, so I can have all my characters posting together.] |

RE: Robotropolis airspace
With a deep sense of dread, Giichi watched as Amiroo and Nail left them. While he didn't especially like Nail, Giichi wondered if this was the last time he'd see both Nail and Amiroo. Who knew what could happen down there, especially with the Egg Carrier well on its way? In any case, there was nothing more to do here now that they were gone.
Meanwhile, Giichi looked towards Terrador to see what he would do. "I'm staying here, Terrador. The Egg Carrier means it's all the more urgent we plant that transmitter. Do you think you'll go to the ground or not?" |

RE: Robotropolis airspace
[Merry Christmas, and a happy new year!]
After everyone had vacated the ship, Era went into combat mode. She quickly closed the rear hatch and maneuvered the ship back above the buildings and jetted off towards the HQ, being sure to skim the rooftops in an attempt to mask the ship's thermal signature from Robotnik's sensors. "Everyone, get yourselves ready for battle. Grab your weapons and make sure your shields are activated. I'm gonna put us down right on the roof. I'm not going to touch down, I'll slow up just enough for you to jump out onto the roof. While you're placing that thing, I'm going to find some LZ's for Am and Nail! You'll be on the ground for 5 minutes tops. You better be ready for this, I have no idea what's waiting for us down there, probably guns, lots and lots of guns." Era yelled over the roar of the craft. It had gotten noticeably louder since the explosion. There was also the smell of ozone hanging in the air. These were signs something was wrong with the craft, something somewhere had gone wrong. Era herself had been keeping an eye on the engines on the left hand side, they were beginning to run hot. She knew something was wrong with the controls as well, she could feel a bit of vibration in the foot pedals that wasn't there before. "Listen, if something should happen to me, I want you to try to leave the city immediately. Fight your way out, no rescue missions, don't go out of your way to find Nail and Amiroo. They're professionals, they'll find their own way out if they survive." [To Egg Command Tower] |
