I don't know how to feel about the restart. I began to rewrite Kitty's profile. In the process, I changed her alignment from hero to villain, and spun a tale of how the Shattering* had not only dropped the KBS news building in the middle of Eggman territory, but also corrupted the minds of all the staff to make them loyal to the doctor.

However, I grew bored of profiling two-thirds of the way through, and deleted my work.

I don't know why this wasn't an obstacle for me before, but for some reason I can't write a full profile anymore. I don't know how my work ethic suddenly evaporated. It just feels like all of a sudden, I'm giving up a piece of myself whenever I follow a set of fixed guidelines such as the character profile template.

I don't think I'll be resubmitting my characters and participating in the roleplay anytime in the near future. There's a vague possibility that I might never do so again.

I can't do it. I don't know what's wrong with me, but all of a sudden I hate writing character profiles. I'm not leaving altogether, but I may be little more than a spectator for some time.

I'm sorry.

*The Shattering is my name for the big world-changing distortion that occurred when the Emeralds all shattered. I felt as if it needed a name.

It'll be quiet around here without you posting away Kitty. All I can suggest is maybe do your profiles in small bitesize chunks rather than trying to write it all at once. But if you'd rather not we understand and you're welcome to hang around the OOC areas.

In all honesty, I have had similar problems the past couple years. I just don't have the extended concentration to punch one out in one go. Often change and revise things. I've actually spent a whole month on one the once.

If you feel that you can't do it in one go, like Lynx said, maybe try to just take it easy and take your time. If you need any help, you know we're around. If you don't want to pursue it any further though and just want to remain in OOC, that's okay, too.

RPs are meant to be fun, not a mind burning chore. If it comes to that, its time for alittle vaycay.

The situation... isn't much different.

I'm planning to keep Kitty and Roberta. Hell, Roberta's my only official character, so I don't really want to drop her. (I'm planning on changing her history up a bit so that she was killed aboard ARK, but the Shattering resurrected her.)

Huu and Olive? I don't know. They don't really fit the roleplay as it currently stands, but I'm not sure whether to edit them so they do or just drop them altogether.

I recently tried creating a new character-- a re-imagining of a character from another video game universe- but it was turned away at the door due to a "no crossovers" rule that I hadn't been informed of. You can imagine what that did to my motivation.

Not that it hasn't been pretty weak lately to begin with. It's winter break for me, and I don't really want to do anything that even remotely resembles work.

Okay, little update. It turns out I hate writing profiles. What I do like to do is start using a character right away, and judge from how they turn out exactly what they're like.

Too bad that's pretty much the opposite of the status quo on most if not all roleplay forums.

I'm still not leaving. There's gotta be a way around this.
