Shaz placed a fist into his open palm. "Right! It's settled then! Gamma, you and I will start inspecting the pods. If it's totaled, prepare a self-destruct timer and sync it to my head-gear. Jii, Anu, you two head back down to the streets and start splitting everyone into groups of six. Here..." He reached up to his head and pulled the tip off one of his metal dreadlocks, then handed it to Jii. "You can reach me with this. Just push the button to talk. Let us know when you're done, and how many swatpods we'll need."
He turned and regarded Chadin. There was a small puddle of blood forming at his feet. "You might wanna get that looked at. That pod over there has the drink bar. It'll sting like crazy, but a little alcohol will clean your wounds. There should be some towels as well, so make sure you wrap that up. When you're done, you can help me and Gamma inspect the pods."
As he finished, Shaz gave everyone a thumbs up. "Alright, is everyone good? Let's get to work!"
((NOTE: That mini-transmitter was made up on the fly, and is not listed in my sheet. It is small, about the size of one of those mini-ice-cream cones. It has a button on top, a built-in speaker, a mute-switch, and an effective range of 3/4 of a mile. The battery life is about one hour of continuous use. (That is, one hour of sound being broadcast from the speaker, or holding the button down to talk. Not using it does not drain the battery) I only have one, so I'll be needing that back if we survive.))

Ji took the dreadlock and glanced it over. It looked way more advanced than she was used to seeing, but she thought she understood how to use it.

The robot's head whirled about, and quickly began to scan over the nearby pods. As his hand wasn't exactly suited for fine maintenance, he made a beeline for the damaged pods, and began to set up the self destruct as Shaz had instructed.

I felt a little disheartened that Shaz's first instructions weren't more productive towards our ultimate goal. But, on reflection, I wouldn't be much good to anyone if I passed out either. Somewhat reluctantly, I nodded in acceptance, and hobbled my way over the the ship Shaz had indicated.
I rummaged through the 'mini-bar' Shaz mentioned, finding the towels and even a few bottles of alcohol with relative ease. I also found a wall mounted mirror above the mini-bar, allowing me to see the state I was in for the very first time. In a word, I looked like a walking zombie. The gash across my head looked pretty nasty, but didn't appear to be still bleeding. That said, my facial fur was coated in dried on blood, which explained why it hurt at times to shift my facial expressions around. My ear on the other hand looked nasty all torn up and bloody the way it was, but by comparison it was far less life threatening. Still, it wouldn't hurt to clean it up a little. My leg however, was by far my biggest concern. I don't know how deep the cut really is, since all I'd been worried about at the time was binding up to slow the blood loss. Looking at it now however, it definitely didn't look minor considering the bandages I applied earlier with just soaked through with blood.
I started off by tearing some of the towels into smaller segments that would be better suited as tourniquets. The rest would be to absorb the blood while I cleaned my leg wound and then as new, impromptu bandages. Sparing myself the gory details, I worked quickly to clean and dress my leg. Shaz was right about one thing though, that alcohol STUNG!! For a while after initially applying it to the cut, it felt like my leg had gone numb. After the pain started to ebb what felt like minutes later, I reapplied my new bandages and tied them down firmly. I repeated the same process with my face and ear, using the alcohol to wash the blood in my fur. The stuff stank, but it was better than all that dried up blood clinging and pulling at my fur.
After all that was finished, I double checked my leg binding and stepped back out into the hangar to meet with the others. "Shaz, Gamma, how's everything coming?" I called out to them.

By the time Chadin got back, Ji and Anu had already darted out the window and were gliding back to street level.

Meanwhile, Shazbot was busy crawling around inside the overturned innards of a Swatpod. He popped his head out of the hatch and announced "This one flies, but it needs a new seat warmer. Which is weird, because you'd think a shuttle made for robots wouldn't need a seat warmer to begin with, but there you go." He jumped out and, with his freakish cyborg strength, rolled the pod upright. I sure hope there's a few pilots down there, or else this whole plan will be so much hot air. Speaking of which..."
He turned to Chadin, who was just stepping out. Hey, antlers! Who's gonna fly our pod? I mean, you gotta be ten kinds of crazy to fly face-first into battle carrier."
((Suggesting we do a time-lapse post soon. This is starting to drag out a bit.))

I was just about to calmly point out to the irritating cyborg, that HE is the one who can plug himself into a machine and control things with his mind. After all, if anything, I look more like a furry William Tell than a pilot. Unfortunately, my clever rebuff was overshadowed by a clap of thunder that would make another clap of thunder wet it's pants. Wait, where did analogy come from? Ugh, I must be spending too much time with Shaz.
Lucky for me, being inside the hangar did manage to deflect the shock wave enough that I was only on my knees wailing in agony from my poor abused ear drums instead of rolling on the floor trying to claw my shattered ear drums out of my skull to make the pain stop. Maybe I've been around loud noises too much, but the pain didn't last too long.
I struggled to my hooves and shakily moved towards one of the open hangar bay doors. The sight I beheld made my ears drop to the sides of my skull like they had lead weights on the tips. There, up in the sky was a ship the likes of which, I have never, ever seen before. But what's worse, I could see Robotnik's egg fleet in the air, and that they were turning tail and running. If ROBOTNIK with his entire fleet was retreating. What the heck were still doing here?!?!
"Shaz!!! Omega!!!! Change of plans!!! Get every ship that can fly airborne and down to street level to pick up the civilians. We have GOT to get out of here!!! NOW!!!" I couldn't keep the blind panic out of my mouth as I ran/hobbled back over to the ships Shaz had been working on.
[If no one objects, I suggest that after everyone still in the topic posts that we just time jump and exit the thread, and head into a cross-country thread. Agreed?]
