Ji and Anu exchanged glances as they stepped onto the lift as well. Finally, Ji decided enough was enough, and spoke up.

"Okay, okay, Thoth help me... let me get this all straight in my head. You-- E-102 Gamma, you called yourself?-- were once a servant of Robotnik, but since then you've been 'rebuilt' and no longer follow him. Despite your claims of this, Chadin doesn't trust you, believing you're still as hostile as any of Robotnik's other servants. And you-- Shaz something-- we still don't know your story, other than that you're looking for an Emerald of yours and... you're very familiar with this Robotnik person and his servants."

RE: Swatpod Refueling Hangar- 7S - Shazbot - 03-05-2014 04:04 AM

Shaz held the door open as he spoke. "Oh, don't get me wrong, it's quite abnormal. In fact, this is quite possibly the opposite of normal. (I'm not sure, but I'll tell you if I see it.) At least this abnormal hasn't killed me yet, so that's a good thing."

He turned to Gamma. "You may need to cycle you flight option to keep your weight below the elevator's tolerance. If you keep it on diagnostic mode, you shouldn't kick up much dust."
Then he faced Ji as she tried to wrap her head around the situation. "My story is very long and full of bad jokes. The short of it is that I appear to be from a parallel universe aligned some 2,000 years in the future relative to this timeline. Where I come from, Robotnik is nothing but a bad memory, and most of his machines are on display in the Museum of Mobian History. I was always kinda partial to the E series, which was before he started going with the more generic Eggrobo line. I think he must have run out of inspiration... By the way, does anybody know where I can find a flux capacitor? I'm gonna need one to go home."

The red bot rolled onto the lift platform, backing his way into a corner as to not block anyone in. He "looked" at no one in particular, but answered anyway.

"Would I not have attacked if that was my intent? As stated, Dr. Robotnik is my enemy. As for the lady's assessment of my origins, her statements follow my history in a vague manner. And pertaining to the lift's ability to carry myself, this facility was meant to allow access to transportation by Dr. Robotnik's forces, them being robots. This lift should easily carry us, since you each way much less than estimated robotic troops."

He piped down for a few seconds before rotating his eyes to the cyborg once more. "Correction; Egg Robo line originated in Death Egg scenario, during attempted take-over of Angel Island and Master Emerald. Series underwent redesign before being put back into production."

I groaned, as my hand drifted unconsciously up to rub at my temple to nurse my headache. The explanations did clear a few things up, but frankly they also raised more questions that I really didn't feel like asking right now. Besides, questions and answers could come later. Robotnik was still on his way, I the longer I spent agonizing over unimportant details the sooner he'd get here and start killing everyone in sight.

"Alright fine, for the moment I'll go along with Gamma being against Robotnik. We still need to figure out some way to get all those civilians out there a way out of this city or Robotnik will either kill them all or turn them into living batteries as Gamma put it."

It didn't take long for the elevator to reach their destination once all were aboard. The elevator was remarkably fast, and given that it served both a support role and also as a base for numerous Swat-pods, being able to quickly bring Swat-bot pilots up to their pods during a scramble had been a critical design choice. What awaited the band of heroes however would resemble something more akin to a disaster scene from tacky B-movie. Shaz's landing had been far from gentle judging by the hellish mess of twisted metal and the smoldering remains of what undoubtedly was an impressive fire. Luckily, the emergency chemical sprinklers had kicked in and done their job efficiently. The last tell-tale suds of the chemical fire repellant was slowly bubbling away as the heroes reached the large hangar level. Unlike the Swat-pod bays to which Chadin and the others first arrived by, this hangar bay that Shaz crashed into clearly was built to handle much larger transports. From what they could see coming off the elevator, Shaz had managed to plow through several of these transports on the hangars far right. Luckily, there did appear to be a couple transport ships still in tact on the left sit of the hangar that had somehow survived.

Ji and Anu managed to step off the elevator, heads still spinning from the rapid ascent.

(Ji) "How is it possible to travel upwards at that speed? I thought for sure my neck would break!"
(Anu) "We're okay, Your Highness..."

RE: Swatpod Refueling Hangar- 7S - Shazbot - 03-13-2014 09:20 AM

Shaz stepped off the elevator and began to spin in place.

"Okay, velocity and air resistance... mass of the craft... friction... carry the two... ah, there we go!" He stopped spinning and walked briskly toward a shuttle which was clearly not a swatpod. "That wasn't so hard. Math makes everything easy!"

As he approached the craft, he changed his arm to a long, orange, cannon-like device, with which he blasted the hatch, causing it to swing wide. "This'll just take a second..."

RE: Swatpod Refueling Hangar- 7S - E-102 Gamma - 03-23-2014 11:18 AM

The mechanoid stepped from the platform, into the hangar proper, his dome swiveling to examine both the wreckage and remaining vessels. He made his way toward a standard Swat Pod, examining the craft.

RE: Swatpod Refueling Hangar- 7S - Chadin - 03-25-2014 01:47 PM

I scratched my head as Shaz rambled on about math and carrying the one, winching slightly as my hand grazed that tear in my left ear. Huh, bad enough my whole body was covered in electrical burns, now my face was all cut up. I'm going to look like a real charmer before all of this is done.

"Did you find it?" I asked as I strode up beside the blown open hatch. "What did you need us for if you could find this emerald thing of yours so easy"

My ears perked up just then as I heard Gamma's heavy metal foot steps tromping around. I looked up to see him examining one of the Swat-pods. "Gamma? What're you up to?"

RE: Swatpod Refueling Hangar- 7S - Jijeka-Te - 03-25-2014 10:07 PM

With Chadin following Gamma, Ji and Anu decided to follow Shaz. They kept a short distance behind her, and were forced to crouch and cover their ears when he blew the hatch in.

(Ji) "Couldn't there have been a less violent way to get that door open?'
(Anu) "Your Highness, you recently insisted on breaking a vehicle's windshield with your flail."

RE: Swatpod Refueling Hangar- 7S - Shazbot - 03-30-2014 05:02 AM

Shaz's arm changed back to normal, and with it he tore open the engine compartment and began fiddling around inside.

Actually, I didn't. I just wanted to see what you'd do. Aha! Here we are!"

With that he withdrew his arm, grasping a large, soft-ball sized gem which glowed faintly between his metalic fingers. Its surface was smooth and faceted, with green and orange stripes blending together all throughout. Just holding it, Shaz could feel strength entering his frame, and he flexed his fingers experimentally.

He turned toward Chadin.

"Now the question is; what will you do next? My services are at your disposal."
