Swatpod Refueling Hangar- 7S - Espio - 09-12-2012 02:58 PM

(Since this is Robo country, I think it best I let Gail describe the building. x3)

Espio took in a deep breath of fresh air as the metal skyscrapers and factories came into view. He would need a clear head and his wits about him. He eyed what appeared to be a command center in the distance, figuring it would be a decent area to investigate first. Before that, they would have to land somewhere inconspicious and obtain supplies for some of the others. Both objectives would be met at a reported refueling and maintenance bay a mile or two to the south of the command center. He slowly brought the eggpod torwards the building, attempting to perform a textbook entry. He was no professional pilot, but in his time he had hijacked his fair share of vehicles for his comrades. "I'm going to try and get us in without alerting the horde, but you should ready your weapons...", he warned. He had no intel on entry procedure, so he had to play this situation out on the fly.

Considering everyone's supposed combat abilities, Whip was the one question mark among the group. That said, he could do with something to aid him in a pinch. From his behind his seat, he would pull out a red flask and tossed it it Whip. It was durable enough to withstand it being dropped, Espio turning back to the cockpit. "If things get REALLY hairy, make use of this growth potion to cause some chaos. That said, there is no need to dwell on negative thoughts however; I plan on getting all of us out of here alive."

[Yes, that's what I was thinking we'd do to keep things straightforward.]

RE: Swatpod Refueling Hangar- 7S - Chadin - 09-13-2012 01:52 PM

"Right." I nodded in affirmation. Strangely, the rush of adrenaline that came with the knowledge that any moment I'd be in the thick of another tense game of cat and mouse with the almost certain battle survival once we reached our goal left me with an odd sense of calm. Sure, my heart was pounding, my muscles tense and my senses keened, but for the first time since I'd left Robotnik's doomed factory ship, my mind was clear and focused. All of the inner strife with Gerald, all my mistrust of these new rag-tag allies; none of it mattered now. All that did matter was reaching the objective and watching out for each other.

I leveled my crossbow at the entry hatch to cover it should something appear at the door the moment we landed, my eyes narrowed with determined focus.

RE: Swatpod Refueling Hangar- 7S - Alpha Omega - 09-13-2012 03:38 PM

Having no weapon of his own at the moment, Omega decided to make himself useful by crouching down beside the door. He hoped that if anything came in, it would ignore him long enough for him to jump it from behind. He nodded to the others, indicating he was ready for whatever was about to happen.

RE: Swatpod Refueling Hangar- 7S - Whip the Rabbit - 09-14-2012 05:04 AM

The only thing Whip could think of as he clumsily accepted Espio's flask was the irony in his choice of words compared to his reptilian stature. He didn't bother asking, half-heartedly trying to continue his feeble ignorance of Espio, what exactly a growth potion would help with, nor did he even know what kind of growth it would accelerate, assuming it even accelerated, as with such a vague description, it could easily have been a potion that detracts from the growth of cells to prevent aging, or some other alternative-but-still-valid form of thought processing.
Actually, he didn't think of any of that. The immediate thought in the rabbit's head was to show off every last trick he could the moment an opportunity arrived, and to trounce all doubt of his skill. He tucked the potion away somewhere, unsure if he'd ever be willing to resort to the gift, simply because it'd been given to him for an emergency. He'd show Espio just how amazing he truly was, and he'd do it without messing up, as the last attempts had gone.
On the outward level, he signified his approval of action with a flash of his thumb, opting to not actually take any measurements and instead lounging as far as one could lounge whilst being cohorted with as large comrades as he was, in a ship as tight as that.

RE: Swatpod Refueling Hangar- 7S - Jijeka-Te - 09-15-2012 09:55 PM

As the ship came in for landing, Ji scanned for a good place to stand so she could get into the air as soon as possible should trouble hit. Anu watched her from a distance.

Neither said a word.

RE: Swatpod Refueling Hangar- 7S - Gail Strafer - 09-16-2012 07:20 AM

As they entered Robotropolis airspace, a green dot blinked into existence on a nearby air tower's radar. The dot identified the intruder's craft as SWATPOD EZ-1407. Per its standard procedure, the automated system manning the radar quickly ran a query against its databases. It needed to identify the craft and its last known assignment status.

Within the space of a few seconds, the system knew that EZ-1407 had been assigned to the factory ship sent to Angel Island beforehand. It also knew that since the mission, the craft vanished under mysterious circumstances. This flagged the ship's status for review, before it could be allowed to land.

---

Everyone inside the SWATPod would hear a rather ominous-sounding electronic voice droning over the aircraft's radio.

"SWATPod EZ-1407...your status was previously reported as MIA. Deliver your status and a full report of your activities since the Angel Island operation, over."

A brief burst of static signaled the line was now open for a response. Meanwhile, a lump passed through Gail's throat, as he looked at Espio and Chadin. Gail didn't know anything about the subtleties of infiltration and fooling the enemy over the radio, so he knew he should just stay quiet. But Espio and Chadin probably had a lot more experience in these matters, since the former was a ninja and the latter a freedom fighter. As far as Gail himself was concerned, his life was now in their hands.

---

If the group looked up ahead, they would see where they were apparently supposed to land after getting permission from the tower.

On the side of one of the skyscrapers, a large opening allowed a view into a hangar with similar SWATbot craft. Drum-shaped maintenance bots milled about the ships, doing menial tasks: armor repairs, weapon reloads, refueling, and the like. Only two SWATbots appeared to be around at the moment. They watched the whole show from a control booth mounted above the work floor.

RE: Swatpod Refueling Hangar- 7S - Espio - 09-21-2012 01:22 PM

Espio figured that if there were patrols, there was a possibility of the swatpod being identified. His eyes focused on tne tower. He assumed he had a few moments to respond so he looked over his options.

Swatbots to his knowledge were not the smartest of constructs. He could attempt to impersonate a swatbot to get in scot free...in theory. He had somewhat proficent potential in it. Should the ploy fail though, they risk being shot down.

The second scenerio would be to cut comnunications and feign a crash landing. It was Vector's preferred method of entry, and Charmy's as well since he "Likes seeing stuff go boom!" In the confusion, they would take on the two scouts, and maybe a patrol team before escaping. This would mean getting a new ride or lift out of here an additional task.

The last scenario is moving closer in and firing the swatpod's cannon at the comn tower's viewing glass. With a focused shot, he might not level the watchtower and raise a full scale alarm. For now, the ninja silently reached a hand for the weapons system as a rapidly weighed risk and reward. As much as he hated it, a dynamic entry had the lowest level of alarm and moderate level of success.

RE: Swatpod Refueling Hangar- 7S - Chadin - 09-21-2012 03:34 PM

I listened intently to the Swat-bots speaking over the radio. It really did feel like an old MFF operation. We'd infiltrated a couple of Robotnik's bases with the very same trick. Usually feigning an engine malfunction to bypass any security codes they might otherwise demand. I had no idea if Robotnik ever figured out that trick and put in countermeasures against such a tactic, but worse come to worse, if it didn't work, we could always blast the control tower and fight our way in from there. Besides, they weren't trying to land inside Robotnik's HQ where security would be tightest. And if we did have to force a landing, we could easily disappear into the surrounding buildings and sneak our way into the HQ from there.

"Be ready with the guns, I'm going to try and bluff our way in." I advised Espio as I reached over to the console and grabbed hold of the radio speaker.

Cupping my hand over my mouth, I answered into the radio, trying to keep my voice as deep and monotone as the Swat-bots and trust the radio to garble my voice up enough to mimic their synthetic resonance.

"Swatpod EZ-1407, reporting. Long range radio and engines damaged during Angel Island evacuation. Rudimentary repairs effected. Engine damage now critical. Requesting priority emergency landing clearance. With any luck the bots would by that. If not, Espio would make short work of the control tower if they didn't.

RE: Swatpod Refueling Hangar- 7S - Alpha Omega - 09-22-2012 01:06 PM

Omega quickly grabbed onto something sturdy, bracing himself just in case they had to start taking defensive maneuvers. He closed his eyes and started taking some deep breaths to calm himself.
