RE: Rainbow Valley Respite - Gail Strafer - 07-10-2012 10:54 AM

Oh mah lance...

This was turning really sour really fast. In hindsight, Gail thought perhaps they hadn't been thinking straight when they'd set up this interrogation. Why let the guy with the biggest chip on his shoulder interrogate the guy who'd put it there? So far they'd gotten nothing out of this but flying sparks and smoke (quite literally, courtesy of Chadin).

Gail left the table to try to calm Chadin down, along with Ji. Again, he held out a paw to put on his friend's shoulder. However, the wolf then realized he probably didn't have to go that far. Because Gail recalled something from when they'd first arrived at this place.

"Chadin...ya forgot something... I don't think you can leave unless the ninjas lower that energy shield again."

If the situation were more comical he might have considered letting out a good guffaw, but thought better not to mock his infuriated deer friend any more.

RE: Rainbow Valley Respite - Chadin - 07-18-2012 03:20 PM

[Sorry guys, but it's been a week, let's keep things rolling]

Stupid Gerald! Stupid Robotnik! Stupid so-called friends! My thoughts kept rolling over those feelings again and again as I stormed out of the dining area and back into the hallway where I'd first come from, passing below my antlers still stuck in the ceiling. Stupid antlers! I mentally added to my ever circling well of emotional anger and frustration.

But even in a funk like this, my sharp hearing didn't fail to hear the soft thump as Jii set down nearby.

Quote:"Excuse me?"

"Leave me alone!" I growled dangerously without stopping or even looking at her. "I have nothing more to say to any of you."

Why couldn't they just leave me alone?! I'm better off without them and they're better off without me.

Quote:"Chadin...ya forgot something... I don't think you can leave unless the ninjas lower that energy shield again."

The snapping sound you just heard would be the vertebrae of the overburdened camel whose back had finally broken under the intense emotional baggage, and my patience. Stopping dead in my tracks, my fists clenched to the point I'm sure my hands would have turned white if it weren't for my fur, my scars glow growing to an intense bluish-white. Electricity crackled across my body, even arching between my outstretched ears.

"RRRRRRRAAAAAGGGGHHHH!!!!!!!!" I screamed out, unleashing a dazzling burst of electricity. "JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!!!"

The outburst didn't last long however. The fighting from yesterday, and the lack of food since still hadn't given me time to fully recover. After only a second or two after the electricity was released, it dissipated, leaving a distinctly pungent smell of singed fur behind. I on the other hand staggered sideways until my shoulder slammed into the wall, giving me just enough support to keep me from collapsing to the floor altogether.

"Please... just... leave me alone..." I repeated weakly. There wasn't a trace of anger left in my voice. It sounded hoarse, pleading even. I felt so tired, and I could almost feel tears starting to well up in my eyes as I broke down.

[I'm just gonna say to skip my post this round, since there's nothing for me to respond to.]

RE: Rainbow Valley Respite - Espio - 07-24-2012 03:32 AM

Espio would give Gerald a few moments to mull over his thoughts, offering up his view. "Robotnik HAS dabbled in rather forbidden arts. Kidnapping...mind control...attempted genocide...I wouldn't put it past him.", he said as he heard a loud crackling outside, a few of the ninja in the lounge running outside to see what was going on. Espio however paid it no mind and returned to the agenda at hand.

"The hovercraft from before is parked a short ways away from the village. When we're all ready to set out, I'll have one of our pilots fly us to Robotropolis. He will attempt to land inside one of the swatpod hangars, and from there we will infiltrate the city and attempt to learn the whereabouts of the emerald shards. The pilot that drops us off will pull back to the city outskirts and wait for a signal to pick us up. If all goes well, we can get in and out in under a half day's time with the shards."

RE: Rainbow Valley Respite - Gail Strafer - 07-27-2012 11:04 AM

[Skipping Ji due to three-day absence rule. Also, Rose has been gone for an extended amount of time, so pass over her characters (Sonic, Gerald) from now on until she returns.]

"AAAAAAHHHHHHHH!" Gail cried out, as Chadin exploded with a bright flash of electricity.

He brought up an arm to cover his eyes until the display passed. When the wolf felt it was safe to look again, he couldn't help but feel guilty in addition to being afraid. After all, Gail had a helping hand in creating this scene with that last comment about the shield.

Burn marks coursed through Chadin's fur, not to mention the walls and ceiling look like they got burned too from the outburst. Chadin himself now leaned against the wall, quietly mumbling to himself as he looked to be on the edge of crying.

"Oh Chadin... I shouldn't have said that. But seriously... You need to get your head on straight before we go out there to kick Robotnik's butt. Let's get you fed and cleaned up, and then we'll all go in that ship..."

[Espio, maybe you should handle the time skip since it's your plan. When it's your turn just post here and then make a new post in Cross Country to show we're on the way to Robotropolis when it's your turn.]

RE: Rainbow Valley Respite - Chadin - 07-30-2012 01:03 PM

[Sorry for the delay, out at the lake for the weekend]

I wanted to shrug out of Gail's grip, but I was so tired I just couldn't fight back if I wanted to. I was tired of fighting, tired of arguing, tired of being betrayed. As much as I wanted to put as much distance between me and anyone that could potentially hurt me again, I just didn't have the strength to stand, much less move. Besides, the thought of some food and rest was very appealing. "Alright..." I groaned weakly in defeated.

Gail was at least partially right. If I wanted to fight Robotnik, I'd need to have my head on straight. Blind emotion is what got me into that mess fighting Robotnik all by myself. I still felt I'd be better off working alone, but going back into the fight angry is just plain stupid. For now, I'd just have to accept the hospitality of the Ninja's and deal with Robotnik later. Gail would find no resistance from me if he tried to help me.

"Sounds like a plan to me. I'm ready, I guess."

RE: Rainbow Valley Respite - Jijeka-Te - 08-06-2012 08:24 AM

(Sorry for the wait. In my defense, I was kind of waiting for Sonic... and I really have nothing to say here...)

Ji had been stunned silent since Chadin's outburst, but agreed with Gail's plan. Anu didn't disagree either.
